Zara and Its Sister Brand Have Never Been Better—16 Epic Fall Finds I Tried On

    [ad_1]

Welcome to The Great Try-On. We’re gearing up for fall, and that includes freshening up our wardrobes with some new pieces. We got to try on some of the best fall pieces from some of your favorite brands and documented it all from our own personal “dressing rooms” so that you can see how they actually look IRL. We hope that our photos and candid reviews will help you shop for fall wardrobe builders and trend-forward pieces that you’ll wear over and over this season and beyond.

I don’t know about you, but I wait for Zara’s fall new arrivals all year. There’s just something about the selection of sweaters, jackets, jeans, and boots that’s irresistible to a loyal Zara shopper like myself, and it’s where I beeline to as soon as I get the urge to do a little fall shopping. As you can imagine, that desire for a haul came on strong this year, and I have the receipts the show for it.

I promptly placed an order for my fall faves from Zara, but while I was at it, I tabbed over to its sister brand, Massimo Dutti, as well. I’d been eyeing a few pieces from the latter brand but had never tried it out IRL until now, and all I have to say is wow. I was seriously impressed by the quality of the Massimo Dutti pieces I tried, and after this, I will certainly become as loyal a shopper as I am to Zara. I did a little damage on both sites and am sharing the results of my try-on here. From the coolest leather skirt set to the most stunning black-tie-ready dress and lots of A+ knitwear, continue on to read my Zara and Massimo Dutti fall clothing reviews and see how I styled each piece.

Banana Republic, once thought of as the mall brand from yesteryear, has made a comeback, and the fashion crowd can’t get enough. Ever since Banana Republic’s recent rebrand, I have been shocked and impressed with the pieces it has been putting out. Think elevated, high-quality, timeless, expensive-looking pieces that don’t actually break the bank. If you like to look rich, then this brand is for you. I’m seeing so many pieces that could pass as Theory or The Row. I have been singing the praises of Banana Republic all summer long and have decided now that fall has arrived, it’s time for me to get my hands on some of the pieces I have been ogling for months now. I did a fall haul and fell fully in love with 10 fall pieces that I quite literally can’t stop talking about.

Keep scrolling to take a peek into my Banana Republic fall haul and see which 10 pieces I’m obsessing over.

  • 16 Luxury Makeup Products I Think Are Actually Worth the Splurge

16 Luxury Makeup Products I Think Are Actually Worth the Splurge

    [ad_1]

I’ll be the first to admit that my makeup application skills are lacking. Because of this and the fact that I’m a beauty minimalist, I never felt the need to buy expensive products in the past. I’m making an effort to learn and as my makeup game improves, I’ve been investing in more high-end products as a reward. My latest obsession is luxury makeup brand Westman Atelier, which I was first introduced to last year when I stumbled into a friend’s makeup bag. She let me borrow the cream highlighter and I instantly fell in love and finally decided to get one for myself along with the brand’s other best-selling products. Below, see two easy looks I created along with my review of each item.

  • If I Were a Makeup Artist, I’d Only Have Chanel In My Kit—Here’s Why

If I Were a Makeup Artist, I’d Only Have Chanel In My Kit—Here’s Why

    [ad_1]

I feel like I’m always chasing that “French-girl” makeup look—think effortless-looking eye makeup, blurred-out lips that give you a just-been-kissed effect, and frost-bitten cheeks. No brand makes this look easier to achieve than Chanel. Every Chanel product feels like a piece of Parisian beauty in a bottle—the products are smart, beginner-friendly, and, best of all, perfect for enhancing your natural beauty.

You can keep reading for my detailed product reviews, but from a birds-eye view, Chanel products are the perfect addition for anyone who likes more subdued, natural-looking makeup but wants it to look the absolute best it possibly can. It goes without saying that Chanel is a luxury brand, so it’s also better suited for someone who is happy to make a splurge on high-quality products.

  • What to Buy From Reformation If You Want a Fire Spring Wardrobe

What to Buy From Reformation If You Want a Fire Spring Wardrobe

    [ad_1]

Welcome to The Great Try-On. We’re gearing up for spring, and that includes freshening up our wardrobes with some new pieces. We got to try on some of the best spring pieces from some of your favorite brands and documented it all from our at-home dressing rooms so that you can see how they actually look IRL. We hope that our photos and candid reviews will help you shop for spring wardrobe builders and trend-forward pieces that you’ll wear over and over this season and beyond.

As someone who was pregnant for all last spring and half of summer, you cannot imagine how lacking my wardrobe is in the warm-weather department. Especially given how quickly trends, silhouettes, and hemlines fall in and out of favor these days, the things I bought two years ago now feel borderline irrelevant, and I’m more than ready to invest in new pieces for the coming months. That’s why I was beyond excited when I learned I’d been given carte blanche to order and try on anything I wanted from Reformationall in the name of journalism. After all, the brand is synonymous with trend-forward dressing but also manages to make some of the best basics and investment items in the game, so I knew I could cover all my bases.

So what did I try? If you know me, you won’t be surprised to see that I stuck to a neutral color palette consisting of black, white, cream, denim, and olive green. However, I did go out of my comfort zone on a couple of items, including a pair of baggy parachute pants and an ultra-romantic linen dress. Not surprisingly, I fell in love with everything, so to see, read about, and shop all my Ref picks for spring, simply keep scrolling.

  • I Tried On Vince’s New Spring Drops, Including the Stunning TikTok-Viral Pants

I Tried On Vince’s New Spring Drops, Including the Stunning TikTok-Viral Pants

    [ad_1]

This spring, I’m interested in building out a closet that is stocked with great essentials that I can wear over and over again. With that in mind, I turned to Vince to test-drive its new-season spring staples since the brand is known for its mastery of timeless wardrobe essentials. The brand’s spring collection is stocked with key closet pieces like lightweight V-neck knits and perfectly cut strappy tank tops, but it also offers seasonless takes on some of the trends of the moment, including leather aviator jackets and utility pants.

Ahead, see the pieces from Vince’s spring 2023 collection that I personally tested out as well as my notes about fit, fabric, and other details to consider before adding these to your cart. One of the standout pieces to know? The TikTok-viral flowy satin pants that I already know will be part of my travel uniform in the future.

  • I Test-Drove the Best of J.Crew’s Spring Pieces and Fell in Love With These 11

I Test-Drove the Best of J.Crew’s Spring Pieces and Fell in Love With These 11

Growing up, I was always fascinated by J.Crew, as the brand’s cable-knit sweaters, freshwater pearls, and preppy aesthetic dominated the mid-aughts. My older sister was really into it at the time, and given our seven-year age gap and my incessant, annoying need to be just like her when I was younger, I loved it too. Now that the brand has been injected with a much-needed zap of cool-girl energy thanks to Olympia Gayot, head of womenswear design, my love has only grown stronger over the years.

If I’m being honest, my personal aesthetic isn’t always aligned with real clothes. I prefer to sit at home in a comfortable pair of sweatpants, but after scrolling through all of J.Crew’s new spring arrivals, I’ve got to say I’ve been fully converted into the real-pants tribe. Gayot has spoken to Who What Wear about her undeniably chic touch on the new-and-improved J.Crew, pulling out archival ’90s styles and silhouettes that would make any fashion lover throw their money out of the metaphorical window to buy everything on the site. I fully understand why—everything just works so well together.

Far too often as a plus-size editor, I spend hours online looking through retailers and brands only to discover that as much as I love them, they don’t love me back. In today’s fashion ecosystem of dwindling plus-size representation and lack of equal sizing across all aesthetic spectrums, J.Crew proves—once again—that chic clothing isn’t just something that’s promised to the few people who happen to be sample-sized. It’s for everyone.

Out of everything I’ve tried on from J.Crew’s newest arrivals, there isn’t a single thing I know I’ll only wear once, with the majority of pieces blending seamlessly into my comically massive closet. If that isn’t a testament to how versatile everything is, I don’t know what is. If I haven’t convinced you enough to run to see all of J.Crew’s spring clothing items, maybe these nine incredible finds will.
