  • $250,000 Donated to Food For Thought Denver to Eliminate Childhood Hunger, The CE Shop Foundation Continues Its Decade-Long Mission

With $1,654,344 donated from The CE Shop Foundation over the last 10+ years, ordinary people are making an extraordinary impact to hungry community members

Kicking off the year with their relentless giving mindset, The CE Shop Foundation is donating enough money to provide meals that would feed almost 3 football stadiums full of people or fill 2,070 school buses of children.

The CE Shop Foundation supports Food For Thought Denver, a nonprofit that provides a PowerSack filled with food for the weekend to children in need at 75 Denver-area schools. It’s important to note that Food For Thought does what it does with zero overhead, and every dollar collected goes to buying food.

While a staggering number of children in Denver receive free or reduced lunches at school, unfortunately, the lunch they receive at school on Friday is often the last meal they eat until they get back to school on Monday morning. With a growing number of immigrants to the area who also need these services, this is a critical effort.

The CE Shop Foundation is proud to support feeding children and families in need and working to resolve and reverse the effects of hunger – especially in school-aged children- which include increased illness, depression, and anxiety, as well as behavioral problems.

Michael McAllister, Founder of The CE Shop Foundation stated, “I’m humbled by the work Bob Bell and all the volunteers that Food For Thought Denver put into the care of the community. It’s an honor to work alongside them and be able to donate this check because I know every penny is spent on a child in need.”

“The smallest efforts, like foregoing a cup of fancy coffee once a week, can feed a family of 4 for the weekend. We’re grateful to The CE Shop Foundation, but the work does not end and we need more attention on this growing need,” says Bob Bell, founder of Food For Thought Denver.

The CE Shop chose to support this cause because, as a leading provider of online professional education, its employees believe that school-aged children should be able to focus on learning rather than worrying about where their next meal will come from. The CE Shop Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

The majority of The CE Shop Foundation’s donations come from either The CE Shop’s employees, who can choose to give through a payroll deduction, or its students, who can donate when purchasing real estate, mortgage loan origination, appraisal, or home inspection education courses during checkout.

$1,597,069 Donated Over 10 Years to Eliminate Childhood Hunger, The CE Shop Foundation Celebrates Decade Anniversary

Sincere gratitude from The CE Shop Foundation, where ordinary people come together to make an extraordinary impact to hungry community

The CE Shop Foundation is celebrating its 10-year anniversary with a big thanks to their employees, students, and partners who have helped make a big impact over the years:

    • Providing more than 1.2M meals
    • Supporting over 300,000 families of four
    • The equivalent of over 17,000 yellow school buses of full bellies

While a staggering number of children in Denver receive free or reduced lunches at school, unfortunately, the lunch they receive at school on Friday is often the last meal they eat until they are back at school on Monday morning. With a growing number of immigrants who also need these services, this is a critical effort because Colorado hosts a staggering stat where one in seven children aren’t sure where their next meal will come from.

The CE Shop Foundation was created to meet the needs of our hungry community 10 years ago, that of feeding young children who would otherwise go without food. We always knew it was possible, and so we’ve set our goals even higher for our next decade of impact.”

  • $275K Donation Fights Childhood Hunger in Denver

$275K Donation Fights Childhood Hunger in Denver

Fewer Denver Children and Families are Going Hungry Each Weekend Thanks to The CE Shop Foundation

While a staggering number of children in Denver receive free or reduced lunches at school, unfortunately, the lunch they receive at school on Friday is often the last meal they eat until back at school on Monday morning. Childhood hunger is a heartbreaking problem not just in Denver but in all of Colorado, where 1 in 7 children aren’t sure where their next meal will come from.

However, Denver area families are getting some relief. The CE Shop Foundation is proud to be feeding children and families in need and working to resolve and reverse the effects of hunger, which include increased illness, depression and anxiety, as well as behavioral problems.

Through a $275,000 donation from The CE Shop Foundation to support Food For Thought Denver, a nonprofit that provides a PowerSack filled with food for the weekend to children in need at 76 Denver-area schools. It’s important to note that Food For Thought does what it does with zero overhead, and every single dollar collected goes to buying food.

Food For Thought Denver estimates that $5 is enough to feed a family of four for the weekend. This $275,000 donation equates to giving 55,000 families of four to be fed for a weekend.

“We are beyond words. Thank you to The CE Shop Foundation for the most beautiful demonstration of selfless love. Food For Thought Denver promises to make every cent matter to those children who need it most. The CE Shop Foundation has been critical to meet an unending need,” states Bob Bell, founder and board member of Food For Thought Denver.

Michael McAllister, founder of The CE Shop Foundation, stated, “The CE Shop Foundation was created to meet the exact needs that Food For Thought is so brilliantly meeting in our community — that of feeding young children who would otherwise go without food. The recent and continued influx of migrants has put an unprecedented strain on our schools and Food For Thought has stepped up and met the challenge of feeding these young kids and families. We are so grateful to our students, team members and all contributors who make our support possible.”

The CE Shop chose to support this cause because, as a leading provider of online professional education, its employees believe that school-aged children should be able to focus on learning rather than worrying about where their next meal will come from. The CE Shop Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Since 2017, The CE Foundation has contributed $795,000 to Food For Thought, but since its inception, the company in total has donated nearly $1,470,000, which has proven to be the lifeblood of Food For Thought.

The majority of The CE Shop Foundation’s donations come from either The CE Shop’s employees, who can choose to give through a payroll deduction, or its students, who can donate during checkout when purchasing real estate education courses. Many employees also volunteer with Food For Thought Denver, helping to pack the food bags during the school year.

  • 60,000 Denver Kids and Their Families Fed With $300,000 Donation to Food For Thought

60,000 Denver Kids and Their Families Fed With $300,000 Donation to Food For Thought

With help from customers and employees, The CE Shop Foundation is providing relief for Denver-area kids and their families living in urban food deserts.

    Press Release

    Dec 20, 2022 08:30 MST

With the holiday season being a time of abundance for many, there are still 1 in 7 Colorado children who aren’t sure where their next meal will come from, which is why The CE Shop Foundation is proud to be feeding Denver-area children and families in need.

Donations to The CE Shop Foundation go to support Food For Thought Denver, a nonprofit that provides backpacks filled with food for the weekend to children in need at 76 Denver-area schools.

Food For Thought Denver estimates that $5 is enough to feed a family of four for the weekend.

In the years since The CE Shop Foundation was created by Michael McAllister, Founder and Board Member of The CE Shop, the amount of money it has collected to feed families in need has increased every year. In 2014, it raised $6,856, and in 2022, nearly $400,000.

“I like to illustrate the impact of our donors’ generosity visually. 60,000 kids are the equivalent of 750+ yellow busses full of elementary school kids rolling down the road, and it’s because of all those that support our cause that these kids are fed,” says McAllister.

The CE Shop chose to support this cause because, as a leading provider of online professional education, its employees believe that school-aged children should be able to focus on learning rather than worrying about where their next meal will come from. The CE Shop Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

The CE Shop Foundation’s donations come from The CE Shop’s employees, who can choose to give through a payroll deduction; its students, who can donate when purchasing real estate education courses during checkout, and generous members of the local community.
