Rebecca Loos says Brooklyn Beckham family feud statement was ‘validation’ for her David Beckham affair claims

Rebecca Loos, David Beckham’s former assistant, is finding comfort in Brooklyn Beckham’s explosive statement about the intimate details of their family feud.

On Thursday, The Independent released a teaser clip of Loos sitting down for Channel 5’s upcoming documentary, “The Beckham Feud: Truth and Lies,” where she weighed in on the scandal.

Loos, who claimed she had an affair with David over 20 years ago, admitted that Brooklyn’s statement was “validation for what I said 22 years ago.”

“In a very small way, this is, of course, validation for what I came forward and said 22 years ago. Brooklyn is basically confirming inauthentic relationships, valuing promotions and endorsements over all else and that it’s all focused on ‘Brand Beckham‘ and that’s all that matters,” Loos shared in the short clip.

On Jan. 19, Brooklyn shared an explosive, six-page statement to his Instagram story, exposing what led to the rift in the Beckham household. Brooklyn said he had no plans of reconciling with his family, and he was standing up for himself for the “first time” in his life.

“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family [with] performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships. … Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade,” Brooklyn wrote.

Brooklyn continued making harsh claims about his family and said they “value public promotion and endorsements above all else.”

“Brand Beckham comes first,” he alleged.

“Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations,” he added.

“We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’”

Loos has been linked to the Beckham family since she originally came forward about an alleged, four-month relationship with the footballer in 2004. She had worked as his assistant the previous year.

At the time, David denied all the allegations and released a statement saying he was “very happily married” and that “there is nothing any third party can do to change these facts.”

The allegations resurfaced in the 2023 documentary, “Beckham,” a Netflix production that took a deep dive into the lives of the retired soccer player and former Spice Girl.

“I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty,” David said of the infidelity rumors in the documentary, which did not directly name Loos as the alleged mistress. “Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters and, at that time, we needed to fight for each other. We needed to fight for our family.

“And what we had was worth fighting for.”

While discussing their marital struggles, Victoria opened up about the resentment she felt toward her husband after he was traded from Manchester United in England to Real Madrid in Spain in 2003, when Loos became his assistant.

“Did I resent David? If I am being totally honest, yes I did,” Victoria said.

Victoria did not immediately move to Spain and chose to stay in England to raise their young sons while David was playing soccer in Madrid.

“It was probably, if I’m being honest, the most unhappy I have ever been in my life,” she added. “It wasn’t that I felt unheard because I chose to internalize a lot of it because I was always mindful of a focus that he needed.

“It was an absolute circus — and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you’re in it,” she added.

What Do Cruz and Romeo Beckham Think of Their Family Feud

“I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life,” wrote Brooklyn Beckham on Instagram. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” clarifying—once and for all—his position in a family rift that appears to have widened between the Beckhams’ eldest son and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. To those quick to blame Nicola Peltz, the actress Brooklyn has been married to since 2022, he countered that the prevailing narrative is exactly backwards. For most of his life, he said, it was his parents who shaped and managed his image: “All my life my parents have controlled the narratives in the press about our family. Performative posts on social media, family events, and inauthentic relationships have been a constant in the life I was born into.”

As the drama spills into the open, attention has turned to how Brooklyn’s siblings are responding. In addition to their eldest, Victoria and David share three other children: Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper Seven, 14. While the youngest is, of course, too young to comment, the boys have not explicitly weighed in either—though subtle signals have not gone unnoticed.

Cruz, for his part, shared an Instagram story showing himself drinking a can of Guaraná, soundtracked by his mother’s 2001 single “Not Such an Innocent Girl.” The song—long remembered for its sultry undertones—includes lyrics that gesture toward duality and misperception. “First impressions can be wrong / So let me clear what’s going on / Baby, I’m not who you think I am,” Victoria sings in the opening verse. Whether Cruz intended the post as a nod to Brooklyn’s claim that the public version of their mother masks a more complicated reality—or as a cautionary message aimed at his brother—is open to interpretation. What is certain is that the song, from Victoria’s self-titled debut album, surged to the top of the U.K. streaming charts shortly afterward. Cruz later posted a second story, revealing what appears to be the title of an upcoming track of his own: “Lonelist Boy.” The implication—that he may be feeling isolated or adrift amid the family turmoil—was hard to miss.

Romeo, meanwhile, appears to be distancing himself from the feud altogether. He was photographed in Paris with his partner, DJ and model Kim Turnbull, attending a party at the Hôtel Costes during fashion week. Brooklyn, too, seems intent on projecting calm. Shortly after sharing his statement, he was photographed walking hand in hand with Peltz on a beach in Malibu, the couple strolling quietly with their dog.

As each of the Beckham children processes the rupture in their own way, Brooklyn’s words linger—perhaps as both explanation and warning—for Cruz, Romeo, and Harper alike: “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace and relief.”

The two always put on a united front, which has taken on a brand new meaning following Brooklyn’s lengthy statement accusing his parents, Victoria and David Beckham, of controlling him.

In fact, it seems like the entrepreneur has made it clear exactly what he would like in his relationship with Nicola in a 2022 interview with The Times.

After gushing about how much she adores Harper, Brooklyn’s younger sister, and explaining how she “wanted a little sister so bad,” the actress pivoted to her and Brooklyn’s plans to have children of their own.

She told the publication: “He wants kids yesterday,” adding that she wanted to wait “a couple of years”. Nicola added: “We definitely want a big family. He has three siblings, and I have seven.”

When asked if she is seriously thinking about having eight children, the 31-year-old elaborated: “It’s a lot, but… I don’t know. We want to adopt some kids and have some of our own. That would be the dream.”

The aspiration isn’t that surprising, given that the pair both come from very large families, but a family-of-ten isn’t an easy one to manage!

Nicola Peltz’s family – including famous brother

We all know the Beckhams, but what about Nicola’s billionaire family, the Peltzs? Her parents are Nelson, a businessman with a net worth of $1.6 billion USD, and Claudia, a former fashion model who keeps mostly out of the spotlight.

Staying out of the spotlight, Nicola’s eldest brother, Matthew, is a businessman like his father, with a degree from Yale University, and works for his father’s investment firm, Trian Fund Management. He is also the non-executive vice chairman of Wendy’s.

Will is the only one of Nicola’s siblings who has followed in the same career path as her: he is a model and actor, starring in projects such as Unfriended, and Men, Women and Children. Her other older brother, Brad, 36, is a retired ice hockey player, who was drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 2009 and played for Yale University before founding his own healthcare tech company.

Brittany, Nicola’s only sister, is also creative, having attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and later founding her own interior design studio, Sena Lifestyle Studio. Meanwhile, Zachary and Gregory, her younger twin brothers, are both ice hockey players. The two both attend the University of Miami Herbert Business School and keep a low profile.

Brooklyn Beckham Just Took On Years of Rumor and Speculation, In Six Shocking Instagram Stories

What followed was a remarkable refutation of the Beckham family narrative—one that inverted years of tabloid shorthand. Brooklyn alleged that the much-discussed wedding dress controversy had been misunderstood: that Victoria Beckham had initially offered to design Nicola’s gown, only to cancel late in the process, despite Nicola’s enthusiasm about wearing it. And, he confirmed the rumor of Victoria “hijack[ing] my first dance with my wife,” serenaded by Marc Anthony. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone,” recalls Beckham, saying “I never felt more humiliated in my life.”

According to Brooklyn, an even deeper rupture stemmed from a dispute over branding—specifically, his refusal to “sign the rights away” to his own name. According to Brooklyn’s posts, that decision impacted a larger family business arrangement, and with it, how he was treated thereafter. “My holdout affected the payday,” he wrote, later stating plainly that “Brand Beckham comes first.”

“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else,” he writes. “Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media.” Yet, even after attending “every fashion show, every party,and every press activity to show our perfect family,” Brooklyn alleges that “the one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.”

There were other details, more intimate and unsettling. He claimed that women from his past were repeatedly invited into family gatherings in ways that made both him and Nicola uncomfortable. He said his parents had refused to see them, while privately and publicly feeding stories to the press—sometimes, he alleged, enlisting his own siblings to attack him on social media.

Perhaps most striking was Brooklyn’s rejection of the dominant narrative about Nicola’s influence. “The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards,” he wrote. “I’ve been controlled by my parents for my entire life.”

Representatives for Brooklyn Beckham and Victoria Beckham did not immediately respond to Vanity Fair. This is a developing story.
