  • ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Teaser Reveals Gi-hun’s Return & New Batch Of Players

‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Teaser Reveals Gi-hun’s Return & New Batch Of Players

Gi-hun is back in the game as Netflix unveils the first teaser for the long-awaited sophomore season of Squid Game.

Lee Jung-jae reprises his role as the champion and sole survivor from Season 1 in the new 30-second clip, which features a series of faceless players in their green tracksuits, the last of which is revealed to be his character Seong Gi-hun.

The dramatically-lit teaser shows each player’s number on the back of their jackets, increasing until reaching Gi-hun’s #456 patch.

Season 2 takes place three years after Gi-hun won Squid Game, giving up on going to the states and coming back with a new resolution in his mind. He once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.

Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk previously told Deadline that the new season will see Gi-hun seeking revenge, entering the game as a different, more serious character.

For the first season, Dong-hyuk made history as the first Asian person to win an Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series. Jung-jae also became the first Asian man to win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, as well as the first to win the award for a non-English show.

Squid Game also became Netflix’s most popular series of all time with a record 1.65 billion views in the first 28 days following its 2021 premiere.

After revealing that Season 2 of Squid Game will premiere on December 26, Netflix announced last month that the third and final season will follow in 2025.

ASUS Zenbook S in Video angeteasert

Design you can feel, Feel the innovative material, Feel unique, Feel enduring, Feel everlasting, Feel the AI capabilities, Feel Zenbook S.

  • ‘The Bear’ Sets a Season 3 Release Date

‘The Bear’ Sets a Season 3 Release Date

How did Carmy escape the walk-in? That question and more will be answered on Thursday, June 27, when the third season of The Bear debuts, according to a new teaser trailer out now. All episodes, as in past seasons, will drop at once on Hulu.

The show has become a pop-culture phenomenon with Chicago-area native Chris Storer giving viewers a peek into the restaurant world with his hometown as a backdrop. Season 1 helped showcase Chicago’s Italian beef sandwich for a nationwide audience.

FX announced the premiere date with a teaser showing Jeremy Allen White back in the kitchen — with a bright red LED clock reading 3:10. The camera zooms out of the restaurant — the former Mr. Beef on Orleans — flying south, and then east over River North toward DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The footage is accompanied by “The Dream Is Always the Same,” a song from the 1983 Tom Cruise movie Risky Business, filmed in Chicago.

Disney, which now offers Hulu through Disney+, previously pulled a trailer that circulated on social media in early April. Seasons 3 and 4 were allegedly filmed back to back, which probably gives stars like White, Ayo Edbiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach time for other projects. Their Hollywood stock has soared with the onslaught of awards since Season 1 debuted in June 2021.

Season 2’s build-up and climax saw the Original Beef of Chicagoland — loosely based on Mr. Beef, a venerable beef stand in River North — give way to a new restaurant called The Bear. The Bear seems to wed fine dining and neighborhood elements. With tons of Chicago restaurant cameos, Season 2 won over most Chicagoans, with a few exceptions.

  • ‘The Crown’ Unveils Final Season Premiere Dates and Teaser Video

‘The Crown’ Unveils Final Season Premiere Dates and Teaser Video

After five seasons of ripped-from-the-history-books palace intrigue, the final season of The Crown is upon us. Netflix announced Monday that the show’s sixth installment will debut in two parts before the end of the year: part one on November 16, and part two on December 14.

A 50-second teaser trailer puts the constraints of the monarchy front and center. The sound of a ticking clock accompanies narration from all three actors who have played Queen Elizabeth II. Claire Foy, who played the role primarily in seasons one and two, says, “The crown is a symbol of permanence. It’s something you are, not what you do.” Olivia Colman, who held the throne in seasons three and four, continues: “Some portion of ourselves is always lost. We have all made sacrifices. It is not a choice—it is a duty.” Then Imelda Staunton, the current Elizabeth—reprising the role she stepped into last season—asks, “But what about the life I put aside, the woman I put aside?”

The sixth and final season of The Crown will chronicle real events from 1997—the year Princess Diana tragically died in a car accident with then boyfriend, Dodi Fayed—to 2005, the year Prince Charles married Camilla Parker Bowles. This is familiar terrain for series creator Peter Morgan, who depicted some of this same period in The Queen, his Oscar-winning 2006 film.

According to Netflix, part one of the season will contain four episodes, which “depict a relationship blossoming between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before a fateful car journey has devastating consequences.” The final chapter, released nearly a month later, will comprise the remaining six. In them, “Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother’s death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion,” per an official Netflix synopsis. “As she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new royal fairytale in William and Kate.”

Returning royal family cast members include Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne, and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret. They’ll be joined by Bertie Carvel as Prime Minister Tony Blair, Salim Daw as Mohamed Al-Fayed, and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed.

Two sets of actors have been cast in the roles of Prince William and Prince Harry. Luther Ford will play the adult iteration of Harry in part two, while Fflyn Edwards has been cast as the younger version in part one. Rufus Kampa has been cast as Prince William in the first stretch of episodes before Ed McVey takes over for part two alongside Meg Bellamy as Kate Middleton.

Rest assured: There will be plenty for Prince Harry to fact-check come this winter.
