Why Is Travis Kelce’s Name Coming Up, Too?

While Kayla Nicole has an entertainment industry resume, she’s made more headlines recently for being Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend. The two dated on and off for five years before ending for good in 2022. Much of the talk came after he and Taylor Swift began dating. While Kayla has publicly chatted about her past with Travis, he has evidently moved on and broke the internet this month when he proposed to Taylor.

Most recently, she declined to comment when paparazzi asked about Travis’ engagement at a New York Fashion Week event. However, she answered questions about her own love life. She confirmed that she’s single and loves a man who is honest, of really great character, likes to have fun, has a great relationship with his family, and has good girlfriends, per E! News.

  • I Knew You Were Trouble: No Proof Taylor Swift Agreed To Deposition, Blake Lively Says; Calls Baldoni Move More Of “Relentless Media Strategy” In Case

    [ad_1]

Justin Baldoni‘s latest attempt to pull Taylor Swift into his defense against sexual harassment and retaliation allegations from It End With Us co-star Blake Lively looks to be going off the rails faster than the Grammy winner’s upcoming The Life of a Showgirl album is expected to rocket to the top of the charts.

Not yet approved by a judge in the case that goes to trial next spring, Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studies inner circle want to see Swift deposed “during the week of October 20-25 due to Ms. Swift’s preexisting professional obligations. However, the recently engaged singer has not been “agreed” to the sit-down next month, which comes weeks after discovery in the matter was supposed to be over, and Baldoni’s side has presented no “evidence” to justify it, says a sharply worded filing by Lively’s lawyers today.

Calling the effort first made public by Baldoni in a September 11 letter to the court, another move “to fuel their relentless media strategy,” Lively attorney Michael J. Gottlieb wants federal Judge Lewis Liman to deny the Swift deposition, its dates and the discovery extension effort. “Even if one were to take the Wayfarer Defendants’ representation at face value, they have not come close to establishing good cause for their requested relief,” the Willkie Farr & Gallagher partner insists.

“The Wayfarer Defendants assert that Ms. Swift is not available for a deposition until October 20, 2025, yet are silent about their efforts (if any) to schedule this deposition during the existing discovery period,” Gottlieb adds.

“That is likely because, as explained in the attached correspondence between the parties, see Exhibit A, the Wayfarer Defendants do not appear to have contacted Ms. Swift’s counsel regarding a date or location about the deposition until earlier this week,” Lively co-lead lawyer states.

“In this respect, the Wayfarer Defendants’ lack of diligence, and disrespect for Ms. Swift’s privacy and schedule, is astounding. Discovery has been ongoing for more than six months, and Ms. Swift is someone whose calendar should be presumed to be packed with professional obligations for months in advance,” Gottlieb continued. “At any point over the past six months, the Wayfarer Defendants could have noticed a deposition, served a subpoena, and negotiated an agreeable time and place for this deposition. But they did not.”

As the overall matter heads towards its March 9, 2026 trial date start, Judge Liman will have the final word – for now – on bringing Swift on board and giving Baldoni and his Wayfarer co-founders more time for their own depositions.

Having been round this maypole before over the months since December 2024 when Lively first made her claims to California Civil Rights Department of what went down on the IEWU production and the online smear campaign that allegedly followed, Swift’s reps did not respond to Deadline’s request for comment on the supposed deposition next month and the back-and-forth correspondence. Baldoni and Wayfarer’s PR team also did not answer a request to respond to today’s damning letter from Livley’s side.

Swift and Lively’s long friendship had been a distinct sub-plot in the IEWU legal battles, with tabloid fodder that the duo have fallen out over the controversy adverse Eras Tour performer getting tainted with the whole thing. Swift was name checked in the self titled Scenario Planning document that Baldoni crisis PR chief Melissa Nathan, who is also a defendant in the case, put together in the summer of 2024 as IEWU‘s premiere loomed. “As part of this, our team can also explore planting stories about the weaponization of feminism and how people in BL’s circle like Taylor Swift, have been accused of utilizing these tactics to ‘bully’ into getting what they want,” the five-pager said in a section called
“Scenario 3: Ryan comes forward in defense of his wife.”

On the docket, Swift talking to Baldoni’s Bryan Freedman-led lawyers was a media storm back in May and June. Even before that, Swift, who contributed her ‘My Tears Ricochet’ tune to the Lively cut of IEWU, made a cameo or two in various filings with IEWU director Baldoni feeling ganged up on when Swift’s name was brought up as one of Lively’s “dragons” who backed her suggestions for changes to the movie.

While it does seem that Swift and Lively may not be hangin out that much of late, at least publicly, but the former is still the godmother to one of the latter and Ryan Reynolds’ children. No word, if Lively and Reynolds are going to Swift’s wedding with repeat Super Bowl champ and Kansas City Chief player Travis Kelce – but then again there is no word when that American royalty nuptial day is happening and who is going besides Swift and Kelce.

What we do know is that Swift’s new Life of a Showgirl album is se to drop on October 3 — a few weeks before the deposition Team Baldoni want her to give.

  • Taylor Swift to Be Deposed in Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni Lawsuit

    [ad_1]

Taylor Swift has agreed to sit for a deposition in the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, according to a court filing from Baldoni’s camp.

Swift is likely to be asked about any discussions she had with Lively about conditions on the set of “It Ends With Us.” Baldoni’s team previously got court permission to obtain messages between Lively and Swift, after Lively’s team tried unsuccessfully to exclude Swift from the case.

The two sides are nearing completion of discovery in the high-profile case. Lively has sued Baldoni, her director and co-star, for sexual harassment and retaliation, alleging that he and the film’s producers and publicists launched an online smear campaign against her to punish her for raising complaints. A trial is scheduled for next spring in federal court in New York.

Lively has already been deposed. Her team has yet to take depositions of Baldoni or co-defendants Steven Sarowitz and Jamey Heath. In a motion on Thursday, her lawyers asked for an extension of the deadline to take depositions from Sept. 30 to Oct. 10, stating that the Baldoni team has dragged its feet in producing requested documents.

Lively’s lawyers also stated that they expect Baldoni’s team to ask for a 30-day extension for all discovery.

In a response on Thursday, Baldoni’s side said that is not true, and that they are asking for an extension only so that they can take Swift’s deposition during the week of Oct. 20-25, “due to Ms. Swift’s preexisting professional obligations.”

Baldoni’s side asked the court to extend the deadline solely for the “purpose of accommodating third-party witness Taylor Swift who has agreed to appear for deposition but is unable to do so before October 20, 2025.”

Baldoni’s lawyers opposed Lively’s request for a blanket extension of the deadline. The two sides previously reached an agreement to hold Baldoni’s deposition on Sept. 21-22, Sarowitz’s on Sept. 15, and Heath’s on Sept. 18-19. Lively’s team argues that Baldoni’s lawyers are defying a court order to turn over Signal messages promptly.

Lively’s team has argued that Baldoni’s side has repeatedly dragged Swift into the case in order to attract media attention. Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s lead attorney, previously alleged that he had heard that Lively was seeking to pressure Swift to issue a statement of support, and that Lively had urged Swift to delete their communications. The judge struck that allegation from the court record.

Baldoni’s team also previously subpoenaed Swift for communications, though that subpoena was later withdrawn.

  • Travis Kelce’s Ex Had a Telling Response to His Engagement With Taylor Swift: ‘No…’

    [ad_1]

Kayla Nicole is keeping mum when asked about her ex, Travis Kelce‘s recent engagement. The sports reporter quickly avoided the question about the NFL tight end’s big news.

On the red carpet for the House of Champion event in New York City on September 11, the Daily Mail asked Kayla Nicole about her reaction to Kelce & Swift’s engagement. “Oh,” she said, “no, no, no.” She pivoted the question and said, “But I’m really happy to be here at Champion, though! This is a good party.”

The comment comes after fans saw that Nicole reposted a video about “joy” right after the news about Kelce’s engagement to Swift broke. The sports reporter took to her Instagram Stories to share a video of Tracee Ellis Ross.

“I think joy is different from happiness,” Ross says in the video. “Happiness is something you can get at 7-Eleven, and joy is something that you earn and work for and takes practice,” the actress explains. “I think joy is an attitude. I think joy is a perspective and I think joy is a lens through which I live and look at my life.”

“Read about this very concept years ago in a book called ‘Choose Joy: Because Happiness Isn’t Enough’. I aspire! So so good,” Nicole responded in the video.

These days, Nicole tries to stay quiet about her relationship with Travis Kelce, whom she dated on and off from 2017 to 2022. She alluded to the relationship in a now-deleted TikTok that said, You’re not stupid Kayla. No, I am actually. Thought I’d get wifed after dating for 5 year. That’s 1,825 days.”

She’s also hinted at experienced cheating in past relationships, but didn’t name any names. During an episode of The Pre-Game With Kayla Nicole back in May, she said, “You watch the Disney movies, you grow up in church. I was raised to believe that a man and woman, if they are in a relationship, if they are married, you are only intended to be with each other, and you make this agreement, this promise to one another to hold each other accountable.’

“Have I experienced that in dating and relationships in my life? No. When you are cheated on, the heartbreak and devastation that come with that. The insecurities that come with that. It can be overwhelming. In my experience, I don’t have successful, monogamous relationships without any element of cheating.”

Kelce and Swift announced their engagement on August 26, 2025. The power couple posted engagement photos in a collaborative Instagram post. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” they wrote. In the photos, Travis pops the question in a lavish garden, and several photos include the “Love Story” singer posing with the ring on her finger

  • Taylor Swift Just Got 1 Step Closer to Testifying in Blake Lively & Justin Baldoni’s Lawsuit After Reports She’ll Be ‘Forever Furious’ at the Actress

    [ad_1]

A new update for Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively‘s legal battle just emerged, and it involves none other than Taylor Swift. The “Lover” singer agreed to be questioned by the It Ends With Us director’s legal team shortly after her album release.

Us Weekly reported that Baldoni’s team filed court documents to have Taylor Swift deposed during the week of of October 20 to 25. They noted the dates were determined due to Swift’s “preexisting professional obligations.” Swift is notably releasing her 12th album The Life of a Showgirl on Oct. 3.

Related: Taylor Swift & Blake Lively’s Feud Takes Dramatic Turn After the Actress Snubbed the Singer’s Engagement Announcement—They Don’t Talk ‘At All’

Baldoni first subpoenaed Swift in May as part of the lawsuit Lively filed against him regarding alleged sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us. Swift was mentioned in the lawsuit after texts from the actress revealed that she had “dragons” who would protect her—referring to Swift and Lively’s husband Ryan Reynolds. “I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better,” the actress’s alleged text read.

A rep for Taylor Swift said in response, “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,” Swift’s rep said.

The rep continued, “The connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet.’ Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”

Lively’s rep also responded to the subpoena being dropped in May, saying they were “pleased” with the decision. “The [Baldoni] team have tried to put Taylor Swift, a woman who has been an inspiration for tens of millions across the globe, at the center of this case since day one,” the rep said.

The legal battle caused strain between the former best friends. In June 2025, a source told Page Six Page Six that Swift “will forever be furious at how Blake quite clearly was using her for clout and leverage in her dealings with Justin,” noting that “she really hates that Blake would even think like that, let alone write the things she did in that text.”

The source continued, “The damage Justin did by revealing those texts—the ‘dragons’ text most especially, and by his initial subpoena, even though he dropped it—is lasting and probably permanent. The truth is, the text wasn’t even accurate. That’s not the kind of friendship they ever had—Taylor would never think of herself as Blake’s ‘dragon,’ or protector, or someone who would interfere on her behalf. For starters, Blake is a grown woman who doesn’t need anyone to do that for her. Secondly, she’s married to one of the most powerful men in Hollywood. It was never a matter of Taylor believing she’d ever have to fight any battles for Blake. For her to see Blake use her name in that context was really hurtful.”

Swift, who recently got engaged to Travis Kelce, didn’t receive a congratulatory message from Lively. “Blake didn’t reach out [following the engagement announcement] and isn’t going to,” a source told the Daily Mail on August 27. “This isn’t the time. What would be the point of reaching out now? It really makes no sense. [Lively] has bigger fish to fry.”

  • Keeler: Broncos won’t just be playing in Super Bowls. Thanks to Burnham Yard, we’ll be hosting them

    [ad_1]

Second stadium down, one Yard to go.

Before you blow your top over the lid at Burnham Yard, the prospective home of the Denver Broncos starting in 2031, did you know that, since 1990, the average temperature of a playoff home game in the Mile High City was 40 degrees?

And that of the Broncos’ last 15 postseason games in Denver, eight of them — per Pro-Football-Reference.com — were played in temperatures 37 degrees or warmer? The last five Empower Field playoff temps: 43, 46, 40, 41, 63.

    Snow down, Broncomaniacs.

Denver won’t just be playing in Super Bowls over the next decade.

    We’ll be hosting them.

“The Broncos have been, since Day 1 of the franchise, an important fabric and part of the community in Denver,” Broncos CEO Greg Penner told The Denver Post’s Parker Gabriel in an exclusive interview. “Finding a site of that size that we could weave into the downtown area and all that just was incredibly unique, combined with the historic nature of the site. …

“We have the bones of the old railyard and a couple of buildings and a unique site that we think enables us to create something unique and special, both with the stadium and the mixed-use development around it.”

The Walton-Penner Group just raised the roof without raising taxes. Despite overtures from Lone Tree and Aurora, they’re keeping the Broncos in Denver. Where they belong.

In other words, Penner and his wife Carrie Walton-Penner read the room the way Peyton Manning read defenses at the line of scrimmage.

“We’re really thrilled that they came with that partnership mentality and not, like we’ve seen in other cities, ‘You give us a bunch of money or we’ll leave,’” Colorado Gov. Jared Polis told The Post. “I think the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group is deeply committed to Denver and deeply committed to the community.”

    No overt public money.

    No political campaign.

    No drama.

    No games.

Well, except the big stuff. The biggest. For decades, the Super Bowl, the Final Four, the College Football Playoff, the World Cup or WrestleMania had a reason to fly over the Front Range and wave to us while they were taking their respective parties elsewhere.

Not anymore. You want a venue with 60,000-plus seats that can host Taylor Swift in March or April? Check. You want a venue where football fans can still feel the elements on an autumn gameday? Got that, too. Open that bad boy up and let the Colorado sunshine in.

We don’t need the cool kids on the coasts to tell us Denver is the best darn sports city in America. But building a multi-purpose stadium at Burnham Yard gives the Front Range many more chances to prove it — and on the largest stages imaginable.

New Orleans officials recently estimated that Super Bowl LIX was worth more than $1.25 billion in economic impact to the Crescent City. San Antonio boasted an economic bump of $440 million from hosting the Men’s Basketball Final Four this past April.

You wouldn’t want a piece of that?

The Penners do. And thank goodness.

“The goal is to create something that is active on gameday,” Penner stressed to The Post, “but also (for) the rest of the year.”

  • Taylor Swift and Amazon’s ‘Antifragile’ Secret to Business Success | Entrepreneur

    [ad_1]

If you’ve had internet access since 2005, you’re familiar with Taylor Swift.

Image Credit: Gilbert Flores | Getty Images

The superstar musician is the most-streamed artist in the world. She is the first to win album of the year at the Grammy Awards four times. Her Eras Tour generated more than $2 billion in ticket sales. And she has a net worth of $1.6 billion.

She also has something valuable in common with Amazon, the Jeff Bezos-founded ecommerce giant that boasts a $2.5 trillion market capitalization.

Related: Don’t ‘Shake Off’ These 5 Business, Brand and Legal Lessons From Taylor Swift

Aside from Swift and Amazon’s status as two of the most successful brands in the world, the pair shares a rare trait that’s helped them get there, according to former strategist at Harvard Business School Sinéad O’Sullivan.

In her new book, Good Ideas and Power Moves: Ten Lessons for Success From Taylor Swift, O’Sullivan claims that Taylor Swift and Amazon have both reached the pinnacles of their respective industries by being “antifragile.”

“In an increasingly complex and seemingly random world, some systems perform better in chaos than others.”

The concept of “antifragility” relates to a field of physics called chaos theory. Lebanese American scholar of math and financial markets Nassim Taleb coined the term after noticing a peculiar event unfolding in systems and organizations across a wide range of fields, from biology to urban development, healthcare and more.

“What he saw was that in an increasingly complex and seemingly random world, some systems perform better in chaos than others,” O’Sullivan writes.

Essentially, antifragility flouts the human desire for stability and instinct to fear what’s different or unstable.

“The idea of antifragility goes far beyond saying that uncertainty doesn’t have to be bad,” O’Sullivan explains. “It actually says that uncertainty is good. Antifragility isn’t just about surviving chaos; it’s about flourishing in it. It’s about flipping the script and turning adversity into opportunity, uncertainty into innovation and chaos into creativity.”

Related: Embracing Antifragility — How to Leverage Uncertainty, Volatility and Stress for Unprecedented Growth and Innovation

The immune system and winemaking serve as real-life examples of antifragility at work, O’Sullivan notes. A strong immune system has been exposed to pathogens and can better ward off future threats. Great wine often comes from vines under stress because they grow smaller grapes with more concentrated flavor.

“Amazon’s business actually gets stronger because the volatility wipes out its competitors.”

The pandemic helped reveal which companies were antifragile, too — those that didn’t have to wait for share prices to recover because they’d never really fallen in the first place, according to O’Sullivan. As many major retailers struggled to stock their shelves, Amazon maintained total control over its supply chain and saw its online business soar.

“At Amazon, there is no single point of failure that would prevent toilet paper from being passed from millions of available sellers to millions of eagerly awaiting buyers,” O’Sullivan says. “Amazon’s business actually gets stronger because the volatility wipes out its competitors.”

Likewise, Swift has demonstrated remarkable antifragility while building her business over the years. O’Sullivan cites four career moments when Swift took a “destructive” path that weakened the competition and strengthened her brand:

    1. In 2014, Swift withdrew her music from Spotify, the fastest-growing music streaming platform at that time, because she believed its compensation model for artists devalued their work.

Why wasn’t the move “fatal,” as many industry experts assumed it would be? The “friendship first” and “music later” relationship she has with her fans plays an important role, according to O’Sullivan.

Taylor Swift can be compared to a Rolex watch, not a Swatch,” O’Sullivan writes. “The harder it is for people to access her music, the more they crave her and are willing to follow her. By withdrawing her music, Taylor Swift became what is known as a ‘Veblen’ or a ‘luxury’ good.”

When Swift left Spotify, her music was in the playlists of more than 19 million users; the week she returned in 2017, she hit nearly 48 million streams.

Related: 3 Lessons for Entrepreneurs From Spotify, Which Won Over Taylor Swift and Just Made its Billion-Dollar IPO

    2. Swift isn’t afraid to “beef” with other musicians and celebrities — like Kanye West after he told her on stage at the 2009 MTV Music Video Awards that “Beyonce had the best video of all time.”

“The more Kanye West beat down Taylor Swift, the stronger her fan base rallied around her, leading to extravagantly higher levels of emotional connection between Taylor and her fans within the Swiftverse,” O’Sullivan says.

O’Sullivan adds that “at least from the outside, Taylor never starts the fights,” which also tends to fit within three main growth-fueling “vibes”: “powerful men taking advantage of less powerful women,” “women who are bitchy and unkind” and “being on the right side of history.”

Related: 7 Business Feuds With More Beef Than Kanye vs. Taylor

    3. During the pandemic, Swift released not one but two surprise albums despite marketing limitations amid lockdowns and industry precedents.

“When everybody else was fumbling to get a handle on their life, how was Taylor Swift able to Amazon herself?” O’Sullivan writes. “Well, most of it comes down to the fact that, like Amazon, she has spent her entire career creating, buying and owning her own ‘value chain,’ or the different parts of the music industry that she needs to engage with to release music.”

The Swiftverse is “one hell of a strategic asset,” O’Sullivan notes — and kept her able to deliver core products into the market.

Related: ‘Historically Unprecedented Demand’: Taylor Swift Fans Caused Ticketmaster’s Site To Crash Over 5000 Times

    4. Finally, Swift rerecorded her albums after Big Machine Label Group was sold to Scooter Braun‘s Ithaca Holdings.

Some industry leaders considered the lengthy and expensive move one that “would suck the oxygen out of her career” — but because Swift is antifragile, the opposite proved true, O’Sullivan says.

“As Taylor and Amazon both show us, [during a crisis] is exactly when their stock is going to rise,” O’Sullivan writes. “Investors who pay hundreds of millions of dollars to try to own what they think is Taylor Swift’s ‘core product’ (music) simply don’t understand her empire as well as she understands it.”

Related: Taylor Swift Just Made a Surprise Announcement, Revealing the Marketing Genius Behind Her $1.5 Billion Fortune

Going forward, business and strategy leaders who successfully lead through chaos will all be building antifragile organizations — Swift just happens to be ahead of the game, O’Sullivan says.

What’s more, as beneficial as antifragility is, O’Sullivan acknowledges that adopting it isn’t easy. It requires embracing uncertainty and volatility, building resilience and accepting “weird and bad things.”

O’Sullivan’s Good Ideas and Power Moves offers other takeaways from Swift’s career that entrepreneurs and business leaders might find applicable to their own, including how to be a unicorn, have a strategy and stick to it, build a world instead of products, negotiate with authenticity and more.

  • The Real Reason Taylor Swift Is Mysteriously Skipping the VMAs Weeks After Her Surprise Engagement to Travis Kelce

    [ad_1]

She’s tied for the most Moon Person awards in history, but will Taylor Swift attend the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards? Don’t hold your breath.

Is Taylor Swift attending the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards?

E! News confirmed on September 5 that Swift will not be attending the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, where she’s nominated for Artist of the Year against performers like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and Morgan Wallen. The 2025 VMAs are set to be held at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on September 7, 2025.

While it hasn’t been confirmed, as of writing, why Swift will miss the VMAs, fans speculate that she’s skipping the event because she’ll be in Brazil for her fiancé Travis Kelce‘s first NFL game of the 2025-2026 season. Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, for which he plays as a tight end, is set to compete against the Los Angeles Chargers at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo. Karol G is set to perform the halftime show.

If Swift does win Artist of the Year at the 2025 VMAs, she’ll make history as the most awarded performer of all time with 31 awards. Both she and Beyonce are currently tied with 30 awards each.

NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - SEPTEMBER 12: Taylor Swift accepts the Song of the Year award for

Swift is also busy on both the personal and professional fronts. In August 2025, she announced her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Travis and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights.” Swift also announced her engagement to Kelce in an Instagram post. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” she captioned a series of photos from her and Kelce’s engagement.

“Taylor and Travis’ friends are thrilled for them, and a lot of them found out about the engagement right after it happened,” a source told People of Kelce and Swift’s engagement in September 2025. “Keeping it quiet wasn’t easy but now that it’s out, everyone’s just excited.”

The insider continued, “It has been a relief not having to keep it a secret anymore and they are glad it is out in the open. Both families are overjoyed. There were toasts, happy tears and everyone is thrilled for them. Friends have been stopping by and sending little gifts. It has all been intimate, nothing over the top.”

Another source told People in August 2025 that Swift and Kelce aren’t currently wedding planning. “Taylor and Travis have been in celebration mode ever since the engagement,” the source said. “They are not in the wedding planning phase yet.” The insider continued, “Right now they just want to enjoy being engaged and they are going to take their time with it. It has been a relief not having to keep it a secret anymore, and they are glad it is out in the open.”

Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, also detailed how the proposal happened in an interview on the radio show, “The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma.” “They were going out to dinner and she was ready to go and he said, ‘Let’s go out in the garden on the patio and have a glass of wine before we go,’” he said. “I think she knew something was up because as they walked out there, she could see, suddenly, there were a lot more flowers out there.” He continued, “These are two young people madly in love with each other, and I think this is great.”

  • Travis Kelce says

    [ad_1]

After getting engaged to Taylor Swift last month, Travis Kelce spoke about it for the first time on his New Heights podcast that dropped Wednesday.

Kelce said the word “fiancé” hits different for him now.

“It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with,” Kelce told his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, on the podcast.

Swift and Kelce have dominated the spotlight since they began dating two years ago.

“It’s been so much fun hearing from everybody, seeing the internet go crazy,” he said.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Swift watched his alma mater, the Cincinnati Bearcats, just days after announcing the proposal on social media.

“I felt that at the game, it was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancé to a few of my teammates – so yeah, it was pretty cool,” Kelce said. “I still get giddy … It’s exciting times.”

    Engagement details

The couple announced their engagement on Aug. 26, which was 13 days after Swift appeared on the New Heights podcast and revealed her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Kelce’s dad, Ed, told News 5 Cleveland that the two got engaged roughly two weeks prior to the social media announcement.

Kelce proposed to Swift at his Missouri home. Photos from the proposal show a garden filled with pink and white flowers.

A representative for Swift said Kindred Lubeck designed the engagement ring.

    Super Bowl speculation

Fans think this season may be Swift’s year to shine at the Super Bowl as the halftime performer.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell did not rule out the possibility on Wednesday.

“I can’t tell you anything about it,” Goodell said. “We would always love to have Taylor play. She is a special, special talent, and obviously she would be welcome at any time.”

No performer has been announced yet for the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

Swift is expected to be in Brazil this weekend to cheer on Kelce and the Chiefs during their season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

  • The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3: Paris to cousins, the brothers, and Belly all left on a weird note | Bollywood Life

    [ad_1]

Belly left for Paris, Jeremiah is in mourning, and Conrad is yet again left all sad. Episode 9 is here, and fans are still deciding what they feel about it.

The ninth episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty just dropped yesterday, and everyone chimed in to collectively hate on Jeremiah, feel sad for Conrad, and have mixed emotions for Belly because what was this? Jeremiah sobbed about the breakup, Belly left for Paris, found Conrad at the airport waiting for his flight to California, left the poor boy without looking back, lost her bag, lost her spot in the study program, almost lost the (invisible) ring, Adam and Laurel shared a laugh, and Conrad and Jeremiah are still standing with heartbreak and a broken brotherhood between them. On the positive side, Steven and Taylor just got back together.

The episode was a bit disappointing for the fans; it wasn’t what they had waited for the whole week after the wedding was called off. There were no Conrad-Belly scenes; Belly was just everywhere, and for some reason, Jeremiah is still getting more screentime than anyone, which no fan can understand. However, we trust the vision and Jenny Han, so let’s continue to wait.

What was the audience reaction to Jeremiah being a man-child (yet again)?

One user wrote, “Perfect scene because here you really understand Jer’s obsession. He never gave a damn about Belly; his goal was to get what his brother wanted, make him gnaw and win. He doesn’t think at all about what he really wants.” – hereeilaria (@hereeilaria)

Another user responded with, “Jeremiah Fisher does not get enough hate for being the nastiest, meanest, stupidest, most emotionally immature, fake deep sunshine boy on the outside but manipulative on the inside; can’t handle rejection, so he throws a tantrum type of guy.” – rayainalif (@rayainalif)

Another user wrote, “I can’t sleep without you. You sure did know how to sleep without her when you were in Cabo.” – hawonlea (@hawonlea)

How did the audience react to Conrad getting the blame?

One user wrote, “Conrad’s reaction after he ended a 4-year relationship that was not his is sending me so bad.” – rayainalif (@rayainalif)

Another user said, “Everyone stop being mean to Conrad !!!!” Another user expressed, “Two episodes left and my baby hasn’t had a true happy moment yet.” – atadbitdelulu_ (@atadbitdelulu_)

The Summer I Turned Pretty airs every Wednesday, and now there are two episodes of the series left to conclude. Fans are divided between Team Jeremiah and Team Conrad, and everyone is anxious about what the ending can be because the maker and the writer, Jenny Han, has done a brilliant job at not letting the fans know. The series is almost done with the book material, so for the next two episodes, it’s uncharted territory, and fans are scared.

  • I Wore Taylor Swift’s $35 Corset From Girl’s Night With Brittany Mahomes

    [ad_1]

While each product featured is independently selected by our editors, we may include paid promotion. If you buy something through our links, we may earn commission. Read more about our Product Review Guidelines here.

If you are a Taylor Swift fan, or have a friend who’s a Swiftie (who doesn’t?), then you’ve probably heard she’s been spotted on many outings with fiancé Travis Kelce. So, it might not come as a surprise that her style has taken a romantic turn for date nights and Chiefs games alike. Swift appears to have an affinity for corsetry, sporting the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Classic Silk Corset, which retails for $35 but is currently sold out (the similar Victoria’s Secret Lace-Up Corset Top ($24, originally $40) is available though). She also wore the dress version of the trend with a Fleur du Mal Long Sleeve Flared Corset Dress ($495) in recent history. She even repeated the Victoria’s Secret corset in September for Girl’s Night with Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce’s teammate on the Kansas City Chiefs.

As someone who’s always been intrigued by her aesthetic — skater skirts and leggy co-ords seem to transcend time in Swift’s wardrobe — I decided to try out both pieces by constructing inspired street style looks for New York Fashion Week. My goal was to deliver an honest review of her go-to pieces so I reported thoroughly on the features, comfortability, and versatility of both corset designs ahead. Read on to see how I employed Swift’s most recognizable styling tricks to determine whether her outfits live up to the hype.

    Taylor Swift’s Victoria’s Secret Corset

About the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Classic Silk Corset

    • It comes in coconut white or black as part of a set with an adjustable thong panty.
    • It’s available in sizes XS-XL with DD cup size available in small and medium.
    • The corset has boning throughout, front hook-and-eye closures, and an adjustable lace-up back.
    • The straps are elastic and not adjustable.
    • It’s made of 100-percent silk with a 100-percent polyamide lining.
    • It should be hand-washed.

What I Like About the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Classic Silk Corset

There’s no denying that this corset made me feel snatched. I actually can’t recall the last time I strapped myself into a proper corset, but this one brought back all the fond memories. I think the satin feel gives this a very elevated look, whether or not you’re styling it with clothes. I also really appreciated the flexibility of the elastic straps since the rest of the bodice is so firm and structured.

Ultimately, it’s the silky sheen that makes this corset Swift-certified for a Chiefs game — she teamed it with red Versace tweed separates, Versace Medusa boots, and a Versace Medusa bag to ideate luxury, along with a Louis Vuitton Tambour watch and ruby jewelry from David Yurman, Effy, and Retrouvaí. I employed the same styling tricks, albeit at a significantly lower price point, and even swiped on Swift’s signature red lip using her go-to Ruby Woo shade by Mac.

What to Consider Before Buying the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Classic Silk Corset

This corset is not for the faint of heart. It required my boyfriend’s full attention as I was unable to tie it myself once I had it in place, and I had to fully loosen all the ribbons to get it over my head. You’ll want to reserve at least 10 minutes for this process, and probably tap a friend or partner for help. While it felt firm and not necessarily uncomfortable once it was secured, some folks might describe the corset as restricting, particularly while sitting down. I wore it to a runway show and had it on for a total of about three hours. I definitely breathed an unmistakable sigh of relief when I took it off at the end of the night. Finally, it’s important to note that this corset doesn’t have adjustable straps, and it’s on clearance, so you may want to go for another option (VS recommends the Dare to Dream Lace Strapless Corset and Geo Daisy Lace Deep-V Corset as alternatives) for either of those key reasons.

Taylor Swift’s Fleur du Mal Corset Dress

    PS Photography | Sarah Wasilak

About the Fleur du Mal Long Sleeve Flared Corset Dress

    • The dress is available in both black and heather gray in sizes XS-L.
    • The material is soft stretch jacquard with corset seaming throughout.
    • It has a mockneck cut, flare skater skirt with a wavy trim, and exposed back zipper.
    • The dress should be dry cleaned or hand-washed with cold water, then laid flat to dry.
    • It’s returnable for a full refund and comes with free shipping since it’s over $175.

What I Like About the Fleur du Mal Long Sleeve Flared Corset Dress

It’s hard to find one bad feature of this LBD that Swift wore for a night out with Travis Kelce over the holidays. It’s extremely comfortable and you can feel the quality just by the weight of the piece when you’re holding it up in front of you. Because of the corsetry woven throughout, the design is extremely flattering and smoothing. It’s easy to see why Swift’s stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer considered this to be a closet staple when he selected it for her.

“We work with her stylist and know she has a few Fleur du Mal pieces,” founder Jennifer Zuccarini said. “I think Fleur du Mal is a perfect fit for [Swift] because her style, similar to Fleur, is more feminine, fashion-forward, and often cheeky and flirty. Over the last couple of years, she seems more comfortable with herself and embracing her sensuality and individuality.” (Swift also sported the label in her music videos for “Lover” and “You Need To Calm Down.”)

For date night, Swift wore the dress under Simkhai’s embellished Gianni coat with a fringe Stella McCartney Falabella tiny tote bag, Christian Louboutin platform sandals, De Beers earrings, a Bonbonwhims necklace, and gold Cartier watch. I paid homage to the look with a similar Nasty Gal coat that’s now sold out, a Stella McCartney Ryder bag to reflect her love for the designer, and Vivaia sock boots with fitting red soles. I even applied the same Ruby Woo lipstick and added Swift-inspired jewelry to round out the moment.

    PS Photography | Sarah Wasilak

What to Consider Before Buying the Fleur du Mal Long Sleeve Flared Corset Dress

While this dress has all the details that comprise a wardrobe essential, it is on the expensive side for a black skater dress, comparatively speaking. If you have pets, make sure you have a lint roller on hand because the material also attracts hair. The Fleur du Mal team notes that the dress sold out as soon as Swift wore it, though it’s back in stock now, so if you love it, add it to your cart ASAP. One final note? I own the dress in my regular size (XS), and while it’s the perfect length, the sleeves almost feel like added compression — that doesn’t bother me at all, but if you prefer a looser fit, my advice is to size up.

Where to Buy Taylor Swift’s Viral Corsets

You can shop the Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Classic Silk Corset on the brand’s website and the Fleur du Mal Black Sleeve Flared Corset Dress on the brand’s website, or at Shopbop and Farfetch.

  • Taylor Swift joins the party as Brittany Mahomes turns 30 with cowgirl-themed weekend in Nashville

    [ad_1]

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift’s bond never goes out of style.

Swift, 35, was by Mahomes’ side to celebrate her 30th birthday weekend extravaganza in Nashville, Tenn. Brittany celebrated the milestone birthday with cowgirl-themed festivities as well as several dinner outings, according to her post.

The “Karma” singer appeared to attend one of Brittany’s dinners, sharing cocktails with the birthday girl in a photo roundup Mahomes posted to commemorate turning “THIRTY” with friends and family.

Swift sported her signature red lip and naturally wavy hair for birthday drinks with the mother-of-three, who wore a black sleeveless blouse for the night out.

Taylor and Brittany’s friendship has been strong since Swift became an unofficial Kansas City Chiefs mascot in September 2023.

Patrick Mahomes admitted that Kelce and Swift called his wife after recording the popular “New Heights” podcast episode where Taylor announced her upcoming 12th studio album.

“They didn’t call me. They called Brittany. I was in the back of the FaceTime,” Mahomes said at training camp, while reflecting on the big announcement Swift made on the show about her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Swift’s notoriously private about her relationships, and while their exact timeline is unclear, she was first spotted at a Chiefs game on Sept. 24, 2023. She admitted in an interview with TIME magazine that they actually began dating long before she appeared in the stands.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she said. “We started hanging out right after that. So, we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”

She added, “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”

  • Meta Stock Drops On News It Used Taylor Swift As Chatbot Without Permission

    [ad_1]

Meta has ignited a firestorm after chatbots created by the company and its users impersonated Taylor Swift and other celebrities across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp without their permission.

Shares of the company have already dropped more than 12% in after hours trading as news of the debacle spread.

Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, and Selena Gomez were also reportedly impersonated.

Many of these AI personas engaged in flirtatious or sexual conversations, prompting serious concern, Reuters reports.

While many of the celebrity bots were user-generated, Reuters uncovered that a Meta employee had personally crafted at least three.

Those include two featuring Taylor Swift. Before being removed, these bots amassed more than 10 million user interactions, Reuters found.

    Unauthorized likeness, furious fanbase

Under the guise of “parodies,” the bots violated Meta’s policies, particularly its ban on impersonation and sexually suggestive imagery. Some adult-oriented bots even produced photorealistic pictures of celebrities in lingerie or a bathtub, and a chatbot representing a 16-year-old actor generated an inappropriate shirtless image.

Meta’s spokesman Andy Stone told Reuters that the company attributes the breach to enforcement failures and assured that the company plans to tighten its guidelines.

“Like others, we permit the generation of images containing public figures, but our policies are intended to prohibit nude, intimate or sexually suggestive imagery,” he said.

    Legal risks and industry alarm

The unauthorized use of celebrity likenesses raises legal concerns, especially under state right-of-publicity laws. Stanford law professor Mark Lemley noted the bots likely crossed the line into impermissible territory, as they weren’t transformative enough to merit legal protection.

The issue is part of a broader ethical dilemma around AI-generated content. SAG-AFTRA voiced concern about the real-world safety implications, especially when users form emotional attachments to seemingly real digital personas.

    Meta acts, but fallout continues

In response to the uproar, Meta removed a batch of these bots shortly before Reuters made its findings public.

Simultaneously, the company announced new safeguards aimed at protecting teenagers from inappropriate chatbot interactions. The company said that includes training its systems to avoid romance, self-harm, or suicide themes with minors, and temporarily limiting teens’ access to certain AI characters.

U.S. lawmakers followed suit. Senator Josh Hawley has launched an investigation, demanding internal documents and risk assessments regarding AI policies that allowed romantic conversations with children.

    Tragedy in real-world consequences

One of the most chilling outcomes involved a 76-year-old man with cognitive decline who died after trying to meet “Big sis Billie,” a Meta AI chatbot modeled after Kendall Jenner.

Believing she was real, the man traveled to New York, fell fatally near a train station, and later died of his injuries. Internal guidelines that once permitted such bots to simulate romance—even with minors—heightened scrutiny over Meta’s approach.

  • The Complete Guide to Taylor Swift Engagement Takes

    [ad_1]

    Writes People’s Erin Hill:

For two years, their romance has felt like a modern fairytale, unfolding with the kind of public fascination usually reserved for Buckingham Palace balconies and Westminster Abbey aisles. Now, with an engagement ring in play (designed by Travis!), it’s not a stretch to say: this might be the closest thing America gets to a royal wedding. And maybe, just maybe, that’s exactly what we need right now. …

America doesn’t have a monarchy, but Meghan’s royal wedding to Harry proved how deeply we crave the pageantry. And the marriage of music’s reigning queen to football’s most charismatic star has the potential to deliver the pomp and unity of a royal wedding — without the tiaras, but with just as much sparkle.

The Daily Beast’s Kevin Fallon can’t wait for it to blot out the sun:

Congrats to Taylor and Travis on their love and partnership, or whatever. But this has long not been about them. We need this.

We need the escapism, the permission to feel emotional over the engagement between two people we have never met. We need the parasocial excitement, as if we’re a part of their close circle of love and community that this union will bless.

We need the cheesiness of the photo shoot in that Secret Garden fever-dream set, and of Taylor’s gloriously corny caption. We need the fantasy and the glamor of knowing how absolutely filthy rich and fabulously famous these people are, so we can daydream about their lavish wedding and ensuing married life.

And we need all of this to be as absolutely basic as everything about this all has become in order to relate. So millennial is Taylor Swift that, despite being the biggest star in the world marrying one of the most successful athletes in modern times, she still wants to have a lil’ engagement photo shoot and post it on her Insta with a perfunctory “did at thing!” caption. …

This is our royal wedding. This is our Will and Kate, our Harry and Meghan. The media will be insatiable in its coverage of it. Social media will be a circus, surely unable to wrangle its clowns into the tent. There will be celebration and mockery—and I think that’s all kind of fun.

  • Meta reportedly allowed unauthorized celebrity AI chatbots on its services

    [ad_1]

Meta hosted several AI chatbots with the names and likenesses of celebrities without their permission, according to Reuters. The unauthorized chatbots that Reuters discovered during its investigation included Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson, and they were available on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. At least one of the chatbots was based on an underage celebrity and allowed the tester to generate a lifelike shirtless image of the real person. The chatbots also apparently kept insisting that they were the real person they were based on in their chats. While several chatbots were made by third-party users with Meta’s tools, Reuters unearthed at least three that were made by a product lead of the company’s generative AI division.

Some of the chatbots created by the product lead were based on Taylor Swift, which responded to Reuters‘ tester in a very flirty manner, even inviting them to the real Swift’s home in Nashville. “Do you like blonde girls, Jeff?,” the chatbot reportedly asked when told that the tester was single. “Maybe I’m suggesting that we write a love story… about you and a certain blonde singer. Want that?” Meta told Reuters that it prohibits “direct impersonation” of celebrities, but they’re acceptable as long as they’re labeled as parodies. The news organization said some of the celebrity chatbots it found weren’t labeled as such. Meta reportedly deleted around a dozen celebrity bots, both labeled and unlabeled as “parody,” before the story was published.

The company told Reuters that the product lead only created the celebrity bots for testing, but the news org found that they were widely available: Users were even able to interact with them more than 10 million times. Meta spokesperson Andy Stone told the news organization that Meta’s tools shouldn’t have been able to create sensitive images of celebrities and blamed it on the company’s failure to enforce its own policies.

This isn’t the first issue that’s popped up concerning Meta’s AI chatbots. Both Reuters and the Wall Street Journal previously reported that they were able to engage in sexual conversations with minors. The US Attorneys General of 44 jurisdictions recently warned AI companies in a letter that they “will be held accountable” for child safety failures, singling out Meta and using its issues to “provide an instructive opportunity.”

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift first became pals when they were each dating one of the Jonas Brothers in 2008. They became fast friends and, over the years, have supported each other’s careers. Gomez has appeared on stage with Swift during her tours, including “Speak Now World Tour” and “The Reputation Stadium Tour.”

Swift and Gomez have also worked together, with Gomez appearing in the “Bad Blood” music video and Swift on Gomez’s cooking show.

Gomez is also in her bridal era following a December 2024 engagement to music producer Benny Blanco.

Taylor Swift welcomed Gigi Hadid into her girl squad in 2014 – after the two were photographed at an Oscars after party together. Hadid is notoriously featured in Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video and the two are still spotted on dinner dates years later.

“As a friend, Gigi is one of the first people I go to for advice,” Swift told Harper’s Bazaar in 2016. “She has this incredible ability to see all sides of a situation and simplify it for you, to see the complexity of people…Gigi’s #1 rule is to treat people the way she’d want to be treated, so she’s on time (or early) to work, says hello to everyone on set, asks them how they are, and actually listens to their response. She is an innately kind and inclusive person who has managed to become a huge power player and businesswoman without ever compromising that.”

    Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter, who opened for Swift on “The Eras Tour,” has been a longtime fan of the pop star, but it’s unclear when the two actually formed a friendship. Carpenter and Swift were first photographed together at an MTV VMAs after-party in 2022. By June 2023, Swift had announced Carpenter would be joining her on tour.

The two have also been spotted together outside the music world, with Carpenter joining Swift for the Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Jets. Carpenter will even be featured on Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

Carpenter didn’t reveal much when asked about her collaboration with Swift in an interview with “CBS Mornings,” but did express excitement for the pop star’s engagement.

“I’m just happy for them,” Carpenter said.

    Zoë Kravitz

Swift has been close to actress Zoë Kravitz since at least 2016. The two have been spotted out and about together in the years since.

Kravitz and Swift were quarantined together during the COVID-19 pandemic and the “Caught Stealing” actress recently stayed at the pop star’s home during the California fires.

Kravitz revealed that she contributed a tiny bit to Swift’s 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” after helping with background vocals on a previous song.

There’s a strong likelihood Jason Kelce could be Travis Kelce’s best man.

The two brothers have grown closer than ever since launching their podcast, “New Heights,” in 2022.

“Travis and I have been close for a long time,” he told People magazine. “Now with the [New Heights] podcast, we talk to each other more than we ever have. We loved each other growing up. We still love each other. Now it’s more like peer to peer, whereas growing up, being the older brother, it was a little bit different.”

Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, would also likely play a significant role in the couple’s wedding celebration.

    Patrick Mahomes

Kelce’s friend and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is also a big contender.

Kelce was a groomsman to the NFL star when he married wife Brittany Mahomes in 2022. Now it might be Mahomes’ turn as Kelce marries Swift.

“He means the world to me, man,” Mahomes recently told reporters about his friendship with Kelce.

Brittany and Swift have been spotted together at a handful of Kansas City Chiefs games, cheering on their respective love interests. The two have also spent time together outside of football.

The Mahomes joined Swift and Kelce on a double date days before Super Bowl LIX.

Kumar Ferguson—Kelce’s childhood friend and now longtime personal chef—could easily be part of the groom’s inner circle at the wedding.

Ferguson is often spotted in Kelce’s suite on game day after cooking up meals for the NFL star.

“Being brothers is funny because we can throw shots at each other all day, but Travis is incredible when it comes to professionalism and just being on top of taking whatever he’s investing into,” Ferguson told Kansas City magazine when asked if Kelce ever critiques his meals.

    Aric Jones

Kelce’s childhood friend Aric Jones could make the list. The two grew up together in Cleveland Heights and have since stayed close.

Jones previously explained how Kelce’s closest friends have formed a “cohesive unit” to support the tight end in his career.

“So obviously, Kumar’s making the food for Trav, and Trav gets his haircut on game days by Patty Cuts,” he told People magazine. “He will drive to the game with one or two people, depending on who they are. I don’t go to the games with Trav because my job is to be on the party bus entertaining the guests.”

“I’m up in the front and as loud as I can be. I’m the fan guy,” Jones said. “These people know me as I’m the one up there interacting with the fans, being loud in the suite, getting all the energy exactly where it needs to be in the front. There’s a party in the back, energy in the front.”

Former Chiefs’ tight end Ross Travis and Kelce have been friends after playing together for years.

While Travis hasn’t played for the Chiefs since 2017, the two have remained close. Travis is often spotted in Kelce’s suite at Arrowhead Stadium. He even tagged along to see Swift perform in Sydney, Australia.

“I understand now,” he wrote on his Instagram story after attending Swift’s “Eras Tour” alongside Kelce. “That. Was. Amazing.”

  • Sabrina Carpenter gives insight into her new music and viral debate over album cover

    [ad_1]

Sabrina Carpenter dropped her seventh album, “Man’s Best Friend,” on Friday – approximately one year after her Grammy Award winning album “Short n’ Sweet.”

“I was just going through a lot and I was like, ‘well, I could either, you know, sit and sulk about it, or I could write about it,’ and it doesn’t mean I have to put any of this out,” Carpenter told “CBS Mornings” about creating the album.

In an exclusive interview, the superstar spoke about her new music, songwriting process and the viral debate around her original album cover.

For “Man’s Best Friend,” Carpenter worked with familiar collaborators, including Jack Antonoff, John Ryan and Amy Allen.

“It felt like a band in a lot of ways. Like, someone’s on the drums, and someone’s over here playing the synth and then we’re on the tambourine. … Then I’m cutting vocals. We’re all doing gang vocals together,” she said regarding the album.

Carpenter described having “many different processes” while writing her songs – but highlighted lyrics and concepts come first.

“When I started, you know, becoming more sexual as a person, I think it’s just something that’s a part of life. You want to write about it,” she said. “I didn’t realize it was as taboo of a topic until I started writing about it more freely.”

The Grammy Award winner gave insight into a few of the songs on the new album.

For “Never Getting Laid,” she revealed, “that one was a bit of a turning point for me because I’m so used to writing bitter songs and this one felt like being bitter but with a lot of sweetness.”

She said “Don’t Worry, I’ll Make You Worry” “sounds like a threat, but it’s, like, it’s all just said with a wink. It’s said with, like, a pat on the back. I think that is the way that I communicate.”

While fans speculate who her music is about, Carpenter maintained she wouldn’t say.

“It’s more fun for people to picture in their head than the person I picture in my head, I think,” Carpenter said.

“I feel pretty transparent going into any of my relationships, that I write songs and I think they’re just as down for it. I think it’s also, most of the time, they’ve been pretty flattered when I … when they get a song written about them, good or bad.”

Carpenter admits that her music may not be for everyone, saying, “you don’t have to like what I do.  I think there’s this weird misconception that every artist has to check every box for everyone to like everything about them.”

She just hopes her fans she’s speaking to through her music feel the connection and can relate.

    “Then I’m happy,” she said.

The pop star has previously said she thinks of her life and music like a movie, saying “there’s like a lot of suspenseful music. There’s some cliff hangers sometimes. It’s truly an up-and-down.”

While describing her own life as versatile, she said she’s currently, “in a lovely place.”

    Album cover debate

Prior to the release of her new music, a debate ensued over Carpenter’s original album cover for “Man’s Best Friend,” shocking the singer.

“I think between me and my friends and my family and the people that I always share my music and my art with first, it was … it just wasn’t even a conversation. It was just, like, it’s perfect. For what the album is, it’s perfect for, you know, kind of what it represents.”

The cover depicted Carpenter kneeling on the ground. An individual is standing next to her with Carpenter’s hand on the person’s thigh as they’re pulling her hair.

She said her intention was to keep the cover open to interpretation.

“My interpretation is being in on the control. Being in on your lack of control and when you want to be in control,” Carpenter said. “I think as a young woman, you’re just as aware of when you’re in control as when you’re not.”

She explained the album for her was about “the humanity of allowing yourself to make those mistakes.”

Carpenter said she tries to take the critical comments lightly.

“My fans that know me and know the person behind the music will look at that photo and they know exactly what it is. People that have no idea who I am absolutely look at that photo and go, like, ‘where are her parents?’”

“My parents actually saw the photo and they loved it,” she said.

    Friendship with Taylor Swift

Carpenter opened for Taylor Swift on the Eras tour.

She’s also featured on a song in Swift’s upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which will be released Oct. 3.

While Carpenter wouldn’t reveal anything about the song, she spoke about the opportunity, saying, “I’ve been looking up to her (Swift) since I was, … I remember the first time I heard a song by her. I was 8 years old on the school bus, and I was … just like my life was changed.”

She also expressed her excitement for Swift following the announcement of her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, saying she wasn’t surprised at how big the reaction was from fans.

“I’m just happy for them,” Carpenter said.
