    Travis Kelce was already famous, but now he is learning what it means to be Taylor Swift-adjacent-famous.

    The new episode of his podcast, “New Heights,” which he hosts with his brother, fellow NFL football player Jason Kelce, dropped Wednesday.

    Jason Kelce introduced the TSwift of it all in the midst of some football talk by saying, “We’re here.”

    “We’ve been avoiding this subject out of respect for your personal life,” Jason Kelce, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles said. “But now we gotta talk about it.”

    “My personal life that’s not so personal,” Travis Kelce quipped. “I did this to myself Jason. I know this.”

    Jason Kelce then brought up Swift’s recent attendance at his brother’s game to watch his Kansas City Chiefs take on the Chicago Bears in Arrowhead Stadium. The superstar singer sat in a suite alongside the matriarch of the Kelce family and it pretty much broke the internet.

    After Jason Kelce asked his brother what his life is now like, Travis Kelce said he’s on the “roller coaster of life.”

    “I noticed a few things,” Travis Kelce said. “Paparazzi at my house. S**t like that.”

    The paps are there with cameras and screaming his name he said. His brother naturally asked about his special guest at the game.

    “Shout out to Taylor for pulling up,” Travis Kelce said. “That was pretty ballsy.”

    He hailed Swift who “looked amazing” and he said his friends and family had nothing but amazing things to say about her. Not to mention that his Chiefs won the game.

    “We script it all ladies and gentleman,” he (maybe) joked. “It was impressive.”

    Kelce said he found all the attention and excitement “hysterical.”

    “It’s definitely a game I’ll remember,” he said. “That’s for damn sure.”

    The brothers covered some more ground, including the sales of Travis Kelce’s jersey exploding post the Swift appearance, how everyone including football coaches have been talking about the possible couple and even how they drove off in his convertible after the game.

    As to whether they are a couple or not we still don’t really know because Kelce chose to pass and left it as, “What’s real is that it is my personal life. I want to respect both of our lives.”

    Moving forward he will stick to talking about sports he said.

    One TikTok creator believes she can predict Taylor Swift’s future husband based on a theory she’s dubbed “The Dusty Ex-Boyfriend Effect.”

    Erica Manganelli, who goes by @leta_bitchknow on TikTok, coined the term on Sunday night after Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs game to cheer on tight end Travis Kelce, the man she is rumored to be dating.

    The 12-time Grammy-winning singer sat in a suite alongside Kelce’s mom, Donna. Swift and the two-time Super Bowl champ were then captured leaving the stadium together, and the NFL player reportedly rented out a Kansas City restaurant to hang with Swift, his family and teammates following the game.

    In a TikTok that’s been viewed more than 2 million times, Manganelli says she believes Swift and Kelce will end up getting married because of the so-called Dusty Ex-Boyfriend Effect.

    “It’s when you’re in a really long-term, unfulfilling relationship and then you guys break up and you get this new freedom and then you date a total loser. And then directly after the breakup with a total loser, you meet your husband,” she explained in the video.

    So, in Swift’s case, Joe Alwyn — the British actor she dated for six years before breaking up earlier this year — was the long-term but unfulfilling relationship. Shortly thereafter, she reportedly began a month-long romance with Matty Healy, the problematic frontman of the band The 1975, which ended in June, much to her fans’ relief. That was her fling with a “dusty” person. (Manganelli uses the term “dusty” to mean anyone “who isn’t marriage material in your eyes,” she told HuffPost).

    Over the summer, rumors that Swift and Kelce might be an item began to circulate — which, per Manganelli’s theory, would make him the future Mr. Swift.

    Manganelli’s had this theory for years, she said, but didn’t name it until now.

    “I noticed it was a pattern amongst my friends and also a lot of celebrities,” she said.

    On her TikToks, people commented with their own evidence that this phenomenon is, indeed, a thing.

    “I trust the dusty ex bf effect. Same happened with me 😅” one person said. Another wrote: “That’s exactly how I meet my husband. 3 year toxic relationship, a summer of questionable choices, and then meet him at the last party of the summer.” Someone else said: “OH MY GOD. Left my high school sweetheart, had a questionable one night stand, and then started dating my now husband of 10 years 👀👀.”

    Manganelli has also observed the trend among other celebrity couples like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Victoria Beckham and David Beckham, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker and Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, all of whom she’s made Dusty Ex-Boyfriend Effect TikToks about.

    Gayane Aramyan is a marriage and family therapist in Los Angeles. She called the Dusty Ex-Boyfriend Effect an “interesting observation of how someone ends up in the ‘right’ relationship and ends up marrying,” noting that “many people go through unfulfilling relationships before they end up with ‘the one.’”

    Aramyan offered a potential explanation about why this particular relationship sequence seems to be a common one.

    “After someone gets out of an unfulfilling relationship, especially a long-term one, they may want to explore other ‘types’ to figure out what makes them happy,” Aramyan said. “Because for so long they were unhappy or unfulfilled, they may explore other options to find their type. So it makes sense that after trying that out, they may date someone new who fits their needs and makes them feel fulfilled.”

    That said, Aramyan noted that this is not a universal phenomenon.

    “I don’t think this is something that applies to everyone. Each person’s relationship is different,” she said. “Most importantly, people need to focus on what makes them fulfilled in the first place before searching for that from someone else. Oftentimes, we have to know how to fulfill ourselves before seeking it from others.”

    The resounding response to Manganelli’s theory on TikTok has left her “very shocked,” she said.

    “I actually thought people would disagree. A lot of the comments were saying they met their husband following this accidental pattern. It’s been so fun to see how relatable it was for people.”

    Overall, she’s grateful her videos on the topic have reached so many people. “I have been able to experience a connection with so many women who have similar relationship experiences,” she said.

    Taylor Swift isn’t just sending Eras Tour merchandise flying off shelves, she’s now boosting sales of NFL apparel, too. 

    Swift attended a Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears Sunday to show her support for NFL star, Travis Kelce, amid speculation that the two are dating, PEOPLE reported. The pop princess’ appearance at the game sent sales of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s No. 87 jersey soaring roughly 400%.

    “Yesterday, Travis Kelce was one of the top 5 selling NFL players and saw a nearly 400% spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com,” a Fanatics spokesperson told the publication.

    Swift, a long-time Philadelphia Eagles fan, watched the Chiefs face off against the Bears from Kelce’s suite at the Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. The pop princess donned a Chiefs windbreaker and cheered on her rumored beau alongside his mother, Donna Kelce. Later, Swift and the two-time Super Bowl champion were spotted leaving the stadium together.

    Swift’s Midas touch

    Taylor Swift’s Eras World Tour, which kicked off in March, is on track to become one of the highest-grossing concert tours of all time. The concert tour’s North American ticket sales alone could gross $2.2 billion, according to survey data from research firm QuestionPro that CNN cited. A movie of the tour, which will premiere in October, is expected to rake in $75 million during its opening at the box office in the U.S., data from The National Research Group shows. 

    But the pop pilgrimage isn’t just making Swift rich. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Swift’s Eras Tour boosted travel and tourism in the region, with the city’s hotels recording higher revenue during the month of Swift’s Philadelphia performances than during any other month since the onset of the pandemic. Swift’s visit even pushed up some hotel room’s prices to more than $400 per night, one local news outlets reported. 

    This isn’t the first time a pop star has lifted prices. In May, Beyonce single-handedly bumped up Sweden’s inflation 0.2% by playing two shows there, an economist told the Financial Times.

    The surprise attendance of pop superstar Taylor Swift at Sunday’s Kansas City Chiefs game also brought an unexpected surge in sales of Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce’s jersey, according to sports retailer Fanatics.

    “Yesterday, Travis Kelce was one of the top five selling NFL players and saw a nearly 400% spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com,” said a spokesperson for Fanatics, the NFL’s official e-commerce partner.

    The singer was shown cheering on the Chiefs during the FOX Sports broadcast, dressed in a red and white team jacket. She appeared to be sitting next to Donna Kelce, the player’s mom, chatting and laughing throughout the game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

    Swift’s show of support comes after weeks of speculation — by various NFL broadcasters and the vast majority of Swifties — that she and Kelce are dating, though the two have not publicly confirmed any romantic link.

    Who is Travis Kelce?

    Born in 1989 (I’m sure Taylor is aware of the number), Kelce is widely acknowledged as one of the best tight ends of all time — even surpassing former New England Patriot, and Tom Brady’s right-hand-man, Rob Gronkowski.

    Drafted into the NFL in 2013, Travis credits his brother Jason for saving his football career. Travis, on scholarship at the University of Cincinnati, tested positive for marijuana and was kicked off the team before Jason got him back on track and playing football after a one-year suspension.

    Now, Travis plays alongside arguably the new GOAT quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, in Kansas City. The duo have won two Super Bowls together, most recently in 2023 against Jason Kelce and the Philadelphia Eagles…the only brother duo to ever play in the Super Bowl.

    He confirmed that he asked Taylor to come see him by saying he saw how she rocked Arrowhead, and wanted to know if she wanted to come see how he rocks it. Travis scored a touchdown in her honor.

    Travis is known for his style, always pulling up in a lavish gameday fit. Yesterday was a blue and white jacket set that fits Taylor’s upcoming
    1989 (Taylor’s Version) theme…so much so that the Kid Super renamed the set to “1989 Bedroom Painting Set” after spotting Travis wearing it.

    Are Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Actually Dating?

    All signs are pointing to yes as Taylor and Travis were seen leaving Arrowhead Stadium on September 24, 2023 (12 years on the day that Taylor performed there for
    Speak Now) in Kelce’s convertible last night. It’s one of Taylor’s more public dates in the past, but we are here for America’s princess dating football royalty.

    Is it a love story? Taylor Swift returned to a packed Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, but this time, to root on Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce. 

    During the Fox broadcast of the Chiefs’ win over the Chicago Bears, the superstar singer-songwriter was seen in a suite sitting next to Kelce’s mother, Donna, weariing her son’s jersey. Cameras even caught Swift, 33, enthusiastically jumping and celebrating when Kelce, also 33, scored a touchdown in the third quarter.

    Chiefs quarterback and Kelce’s teammate, Patrick Mahomes, joked with Fox’s Erin Andrews that he felt “a little bit of pressure” from Swifties to pass the ball to Kelce. 

    “I heard she was in the house… so I knew I had to get it to Trav,” he said. “And of course, it’s on a route that Travis – he does his own thing. He just makes up a route and I throw it to him. I think he wanted to get in the end zone just as much as the Swifties wanted him to.” 

    Swift and Kelce later walked out of the stadium together, further fueling the speculation that they are dating. Her appearance at the game comes after Kelce said on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week that he invited her to watch the Chiefs at Arrowhead, where Swift performed back in July. 

    “I told her that I’ve seen her rock a stage in Arrowhead and she might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead,” he said. “We’ll see what happens in the near future.” 

    Kelce had previously mentioned on the “New Heights” podcast, which he hosts with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, that he was “disappointed” he couldn’t give her his friendship bracelet with his phone number during her Eras tour stop in Kansas City. Since then, dating rumors have swirled, but neither has confirmed anything. 

    Mahomes said on Sunday that he would like to meet Swift if she and Kelce date. 

    “I guess if she ends up being with Travis then I’ll probably get to meet her at some point. So she seems like a good person. So hopefully I get to meet her one day,” he said. 

    The Kelce-Swift speculation even prompted New England Patriots Bill Belichick to chime in. 

    “Travis Kelce has had a lot of big catches in his career,” Belichick said Monday. “This would be the biggest.”

    Life imitates art: It looks like Taylor Swift really is thick as thieves with a former flame’s (soon-to-be) ex-wife, as she sang to an unnamed party in her song “Vigilante Shit.” Swift was spotted out at dinner with Joe Jonas’s estranged spouse, Sophie Turner, for the second time in a week on Thursday.

    The pair, who are now both on Jonas’s long list of ex-lovers, dined Thursday at Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York, upping the sisters-before-misters ante this time by being joined by the trio of Haim sisters, Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim. The musical siblings are not only noted Swift pals, but also collaborators on her track “No Body, No Crime.” Earlier this week, Turner and Swift made headlines with a night out at Via Carota and Temple Bar in NYC.

    Earlier Thursday, Turner filed a lawsuit against Jonas in a Manhattan court, requesting the immediate return of the couple’s two young daughters to England and claiming that Jonas has been withholding their passports. In the filing, obtained by Vanity Fair, Turner said that she found out about Jonas’s divorce filing through the media. She added that, before an August argument pinpointed as the sudden breaking point in their marriage, the couple planned for Turner to collect the children in New York and bring them back to her native England on September 20.

    Jonas’s reps refuted Turner’s account point by point in a lengthy statement shared with VF, characterizing the suit as “an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending” and claiming Turner “was aware” that Jonas would be filing for divorce. The children have dual citizenship in the US and UK, though Jonas’s team’s statement insisted that “the children were born in the US and have spent the vast majority of their lives in the US. They are American citizens.”

    Jonas filed for divorce in Florida on or about September 1, per Turner’s Thursday filing; his team’s statement claimed that to be “the appropriate jurisdiction for this case.” In Turner’s suit, however, she laid out her own evidence that Miami was not the family’s primary home, calling England the children’s “habitual residence.” Though Turner and Jonas initially released a joint statement calling the split “a united decision,” the case appears to have become increasingly contentious.

    On National Voter Registration Day in the U.S., Taylor Swift urged her millions of fans to Speak Now and let their democratic voices be heard. Her callout led to “record-breaking traffic” to Vote.org,  a non-profit voting registration website, which said it saw the most sign-ups in years thanks to the pop star’s help.

    Swift shared a message on her Instagram story Tuesday morning asking her fans if they had registered to vote yet for the upcoming 2024 U.S. elections.

    Within the hour that Swift made her post, traffic on the Vote.org website shot up 1226 per cent, according to Vote.org CEO Andrea Hailey.

    “Our site was averaging 13,000 users every 30 minutes — a number that Taylor Swift would be proud of,” Hailey wrote in a press release shared with Global News.

    Thirteen, as Swifties would know, is the pop star’s lucky number.

    In total, 35,252 people registered to vote through the site on Tuesday, an improvement of 22.5 per cent compared with last year’s campaign. Vote.org states that this year’s National Voter Registration Day was the most successful since 2020, a year that saw now-President Joe Biden face off against then-incumbent Donald Trump in a highly contentious election.

    This year’s voter registration numbers were helped in part by surging interest among young people. Compared with last year’s drive, there was a 115 per cent increase in 18-year-olds registering to vote.

    “Time and time again young people are showing up and demonstrating they care about their rights and access to the ballot box,” Hailey said.

    In a tweet, Hailey added: “Wanna know something even more wild? We see an 849% increase here compared to 2021. 849%! This generation’s eagerness to participate is a game changer. They are the future, and their energy will shape the outcomes of upcoming elections.”

    Vote.org says it is “seizing on this momentum” to announce plans to register eight million voters before Americans go to the ballot box in 2024.

    “We’ve already launched our registration program with our youth efforts across campuses, influencer engagement, radio, digital, social media and direct voter contacts. The 2024 election is already here, and now, it’s time to turn this enthusiasm into votes,” Hailey said.

    Until recently, Swift was famously reticent to discuss political issues in public. That all changed in 2018 when she came out in support of Tennessee Senate candidate Phil Bredesen, a Democrat, while slamming his Republican opponent Marsha Blackburn on her track record with LGBTQ2+ and women’s rights.

    “In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now,” Swift wrote at the time. Blackburn went on to win the Senate election.

    In 2020, Swift endorsed Biden and Kamala Harris’ campaign, saying at the time that she believed America “has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs,” under their leadership.

    While appearing on Thursday’s episode of “The Pat McAfee Show” podcast, Kelce was asked whether he “hates” all the media attention surrounding his rumoured romance with Swift.

    “No. I mean it’s life. I threw the ball in her court and told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage at Arrowhead.     NFL player Travis Kelce is addressing swirling rumors that he is pop star Taylor Swift’s new beau.

    While appearing on the “Pat McAfee Show” on Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed how he had tried to shoot his shot with the pop star amid reports that the two have been “hanging out.”

    “I told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead; you might have to come see me rock a stage at Arrowhead and we can see which one’s a little more lit,’” the Super Bowl champion recalled, referring to the Chiefs’ home stadium.

    Kelce added: “We’ll see what happens in the near future.”

    The football player added that he finds the gossip about his romantic life “hilarious,” comparing the hearsay to a “game of telephone.”

    “No one actually knows what’s going on, especially when you’ve got Jason Kelce on live television telling people both sides,” he said, referring to his older brother, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles and recently fueled additional speculation with some juicy comments.

    The Eagles player sent fans down a rabbit hole after saying he thinks the rumors about Swift and his little brother are “100% true” Wednesday on “WIP Morning Show.”

    “It’s hard to answer, ’cause I don’t really know a lot about what’s happening in Travis’ love life, and I try to keep his business kind of his business and stay out of that world,” Jason Kelce said.

    “But having said that, man, I think they’re doing great and I think it’s all 100% true,” the NFL center cracked.

    “No one knows what’s going on,” Travis Kelce said of the viral speculation about his love life with Taylor Swift.

    Speaking to McAfee, Travis Kelce playfully scolded his older sibling, telling McAfee that his brother “is absolutely ridiculous; he can’t stay out of the friggin’ headlines.”

    When McAfee asked the Chiefs player if he “hated” the attention he’s garnered from fans about his purported romance with the “Bad Blood” crooner, he coyly replied: “No, I mean, it’s life, baby. I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court.”

    Representatives for Travis Kelce and Swift did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

    Earlier this month, Page Six reported that the 12-time Grammy winner and the star athlete had been “quietly hanging out” for weeks.

    Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed the reports.

    In July on his podcast “New Heights,” Kelce described a previous, very Swiftie attempt to give his number to the pop singer, who is currently on her Eras Tour.

    “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows, because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he told his older brother at the time. “So, I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

    He added: “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”

    Taylor Swift called out to fans to register on National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday and Swifties answered in droves. 

    Swift posted an Instagram story directing her 272 million followers to Vote.org, a nonprofit organization that offers voter registration services.

    “Are you registered to vote yet?” Swift wrote. “I’ve been so lucky to see so many of you guys at my US shows recently. I’ve heard you raise your voices, and I know how powerful they are. Make sure you’re ready to use them in our elections this year!”

    How successful was Swift’s message?

    Vote.org averaged 13,000 users every half hour after Swift’s post, Nick Morrow, the website’s communications director posted on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter. 

    “Let’s just say her reputation for being a mastermind is very well-earned,” Morrow said.

    Vote.org registered more than 35,000 voters after Swift’s post, which was a 22.5% increase from the previous year, organization CEO Andrea Hailey said Wednesday. There was a 115% increase in registrations by 18-year-olds when compared to last year. The organization also helped 50,000 people verify their registration status.

    Hailey described the numbers as Vote.org’s “love letter” to Swift for amplifying voter voices. 

    Swift’s political past

    The pop star first broke her political silence in 2018 when she spoke out in support of Tennessee’s Democratic Senate candidate Phil Bredesen. She slammed the record of his Republican opponent, then U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, citing Blackburn’s opposition to certain LGBTQ rights and voting against the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act in 2013.

    “In the past I’ve been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now,” Swift wrote at the time.

    Despite Swift’s support for Bredesen, he lost the race to Blackburn. In 2020, Swift endorsed the Biden-Harris campaign. 

    Her 2018 post also encouraged voter registration. In it, the singer advised her fans to register to vote and to “educate yourself on the candidates running in your state and vote based on who most closely represents your values.”

    PSA: TikTok merch is now acceptable attire for dinner with Taylor Swift. On Sept. 19, Swift and Sophie Turner made headlines for their spontaneous New York City dinner date, linking arms while walking out of Via Carota following the news of Turner’s split from Joe Jonas. Although the two initially sparked interest for the timeliness of their meeting, our eyes were glued to the actor’s unique sweatshirt instead.

    The design seemed inconspicuous at first, the black sleeves wrapped tightly around her waist to hide any discerning details. Thankfully, as the city temperatures dropped, Turner layered the sweatshirt over her sparkly silver halter top, revealing it to be TikTok merch from content creator Jake Shane (aka octopusslover8). She styled the sweater with baggy gray trousers, light-blue sneakers, and a gold chain necklace.

    Shane is a 23-year-old comedian previously linked to celebrities like the Jonas Brothers, Sofia Richie, and fellow TikTok star Alix Earle. He built a following thanks to his imaginative retelling of historical events and “p*ssy PSAs” containing hilariously candid updates. “The way I’m shaking because Sophie Turner is fully wearing ‘puss casino’ in that,” Shane said in a Sept. 20 TikTok, pointing to Turner’s crewneck. The “puss casino” graphic (although predictably sold out) features a winning slot machine illustration with the words “Jackpuss!” written in red across the top and “good p*ssies go to heaven, bad p*ssies go to Vegas” along the back.

    Without reading too much into Turner’s merch, she and Jonas did have a Las Vegas wedding in 2019, and the Jonas Brothers formerly collaborated on a handful of videos with Shane back in April. At the very least, Turner’s unpretentious cover-up points to her apparent closeness with Swift, who also dated Jonas circa 2008.     While Taylor Swift was out getting thick as thieves with a Jonas brother’s soon-to-be ex-wife, another brother was out talking about her romantic life. Jason Kelce, brother of Travis Kelce, seems to have confirmed that Travis and Taylor (Traylor?) are dating.

    On the WIP Morning Show radio show Wednesday, Jason, who is a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, said he’s been “blindsided” by questions about Swift and his younger brother’s social calendar.

    “It’s hard to answer because I don’t know what’s happening in Travis’ love life, and I try to keep his business his business and stay out of that world,” he said. “But having said that, man, I think they’re doing great, and I think it’s all 100 percent true and I hope that this thing goes the mile.”

    It’s not exactly the love story baby, just say yes answer and sounds a bit more “lol maybe,” especially since he burst into a fit of awkward chuckles after responding to the question.

    There’s also the small matter that he quickly muttered, “Nah, I’m joking, I don’t know what’s going on” immediately after the comment.

    Whether Jason knows what’s up or not, Travis, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, has remained tight-lipped about Swift since he revealed in July that he had tried—and failed—to give her his phone number.

    On the July 26 episode of New Heights, the podcast that the Kelces co-host, Travis said he tried to meet the singer at one of her Kansas City Eras Tour shows.

    “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So I was a little butt hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Travis said.

    “You made her a bracelet?” Jason clarified.

    “Yeah. If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” he said.

    When Jason asked if he meant his jersey number or his phone number, Travis said, “You know which one.” But, alas and alack, even the best-laid bracelet plans, etc.

    “She doesn’t meet anybody or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,” he said. “But it was an unbelievable show.”

    “She probably just hasn’t gotten over the Super Bowl yet. She’s a big Eagles fan, so maybe she just made something up and just didn’t want to talk to you,” Jason said.

    Earlier this month, however, an unnamed source told The Messenger that Travis and Taylor had been “quietly hanging out.”

    And then there’s the fact that Taylor was spotted wearing an opal pendant recently, and opal is, of course, Travis’ birthstone. It must be love, right? After all, please recall the very recent example of Sophie Turner’s “Mr. Perfectly Fine” bracelet shortly before her divorce from Joe Jonas was announced. Statements: Tired.     Sea.Hear.Now is the perfect ending to your summer for multiple reasons. It gives you an excuse to enjoy the sun and the sand one more weekend post Labor Day, even better that you throw all of your favorite artists together. I’ve always said that festivals are the best bang for your buck as a music fan- you spend a few hundred dollars to see at least 10 artists over multiple days with general admission seating, as opposed to that $2,000 Taylor Swift ticket.

    I’ve been to a few festivals spanning from Firefly in Dover, Delaware to the infamous Coachella in Indio, California. I’ve seen bands I may not have purchased single show tickets to, and I’ve become fans of artists just by happening upon their performances at these events. Festivals are great ways to try out new music without throwing all your money away- and there’s no better way to get a feel of an artist than seeing them live.

    This was my first year at Sea.Hear.Now, and it didn’t disappoint. For fans of older music and new music alike, there’s truly something for everyone here. Located on the actual beach (so bring sand-appropriate shoes), Sea.Hear.Now features clothing pop-up shops, local food and drink vendors, and much, much more. Here are the highlights:

    I’d be crazy if I didn’t start with what we all came for: the music. I hadn’t seen most of these acts live before, but I have admittedly seen (and worshipped) The Killers at Firefly a few years ago. But my reviews are as follows:

    • Sheryl Crow- if I can look half as good as her, I will consider myself successful. My first headline thought was: Breaking News: Sheryl Crow Has Still Got It. She has a powerful voice, knows how to rock the guitar, and “Soak Up The Sun” will always be famous.
    • Greta Van Fleet- one word: wow. Everyone compares them to Led Zeppelin, and I was so shocked by the vocal range and witty banter they provided. I became an instant fan.
    • Royal Blood- not only did I get the chance to interview the lovely British duo this weekend, but also see these two rockstars. Kicking off their tour, Royal Blood did not disappoint.
    • The Killers- I can’t say enough about this band and how amazing they are live. They opened with my favorite song of all time, “Mr. Brightside,” and I astral projected to the moon. Ask anyone there, The Killers are a must-see whenever they’re in town, bringing up a fan every time to play drums with them. Always electric, never a let down.

    • Stephen Sanchez- Sanchez creates story lines with his music, and to hear it seaside felt ethereal. Hits like “Until I Found You” sound better at the beach.
    • The Beach Boys- First of all, they brought out John Stamos as their drummer (instant win). But Mike Love and Bruce Johnston brought the house down, with Love’s son also helping them out. I loved every second of it.
    • Mt. Joy- Philly’s finest, Mt. Joy sounds just as good live as they do on your phone. Something about Mt. Joy at Sea.Hear.Now just makes sense.
    • Weezer- Weezer was another highlight of the festival- playing all of their hits and sounding identical to their soundtracks. “Beverly Hills” and “My Name is Jonas” were some of my faves.
    • The Foo Fighters- The Foo Fighter fans were plentiful, belting out every word. They didn’t miss a beat, and were the perfect ending to a rock-filled weekend.

    The Food at Sea.Hear.Now 

    At any given festival, the food looks better than it tastes. It’s just a fact, no matter what they try and tell you. However, I did have my first Korean-style corn dog, which was essentially a giant mozzarella stick with a hot dog in the center and sauce on top…and it was delicious despite the fact that it would have sent a Pilgrim into cardiac arrest.

    The drinks were moderately priced compared to other festivals I’ve been to, there were plenty of free water stations (as opposed to Coachella), and I need to give a special shoutout to the Hendricks Boat Bar. They had the best triage of Hendricks drinks (I don’t even like gin and these were delicious) curated by Erik Andersson, who also gave us a great tour.

    Sea.Hear.Now has a lot to offer: picture opportunities, specific drink tents like Tito’s, Twisted Tea, etc., and even shopping opportunities. And for once, I want to emphasize the perks that VIP tickets could get you: your own viewing area close to the stage so it’s never a bad view, access to festival merchandise (not bands, however), your own bathroom area and food/bars, TV’s and a lounge. It’s truly worth the upgrade.

    There’s even a surfing competition, which honestly worried me a bit since there was a hurricane but I’m not the professional. But what I loved about this festival is it stayed true to Asbury Park’s roots, featuring everything the small city had to offer.

    No matter what, it’s a more relaxed vibe compared to the intense marathon that Coachella is. You have a wider age range of people, all dressed however they want (from festival chic to football jerseys on Sunday). But that’s the beauty of Sea.Hear.Now: come as you are, all will be welcomed.

    “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” will be released Oct. 27.

    The ultimate release date comes after the “Shake It Off” singer dropped a lot of clues about it. In June 2022, Swift seemingly dropped more Easter eggs about its release at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards, hosted by “SNL” star Bowen Yang and comedian Matt Rogers. She recorded two acceptance speeches for the show, and in those videos, her home was full of items that seemed to reference the “1989” original era, per Vulture.

    Then, this May, Swift surprise released the music video for “Karma” (feat. Ice Spice), and fans thought it included even more Easter eggs that pointed to an upcoming drop. In the video, she plays a vinyl copy of “Midnights,” but the album is a light blue, which fans associate with “1989.” In another shot, Swift is the Greek goddess Nemesis, and her pedestal has “MCMLXXXIX” carved into it; that’s 1989 in Roman numerals.

    Fans have also found meaning in a scene where Swift appears as three lit lightbulbs. “Speak Now” was Swift’s third album. Then Swift appears as five lightbulbs; “1989” is her fifth album.

    One of the video’s last shots has also been interpreted as a clue. Swift holds a coffee cup; inside, her latte has art that looks like a clock. A finger with light-blue nail polish is by the eight on the clock, while a finger with black polish is by the two. Many fans thought that meant a “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” announcement would come in August and “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” would come in February 2024.

    The video for the “Speak Now (TV)” song “I Can See You” also had a “1989 (TV)” clue — at the end of the video, a sign over a bridge read, “1′-9″ 8.9 tv.”
