Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce called out the NFL, saying the league is “overdoing it a little bit” with the focus on Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift.
Speaking with his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce, on their podcast “New Heights,” Travis Kelce discussed Swift’s attendance at Sunday night’s Chiefs game against the Jets, which Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and Hugh Jackman also attended.
“They are not there to get thrown on the TV,” Travis Kelce said on Wednesday’s episode. “You never know, you get caught throwing down a big old cheeseburger and you look like an idiot. There are certain things you just don’t want to be on TV at all times.”

Swift also appeared in the Kelce family’s box at the Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 24. Her attendance at both games has boosted merchandise sales and viewership numbers. Ticket resale platform StubHub saw a 175% jump in Chiefs-Jets ticket sales three days after Swift’s appearance at the Sept. 24 Chiefs game, a representative for the company told CBS News. Nearly 20% of tickets for the Oct. 1 game were sold the night of Swift’s appearance.
“I think a few of them might have been there for Deadpool and Taylor,” Jason Kelce said, referencing Reynolds’ role in the “Deadpool” movies.
The Eagles player pointed to the NBA for ways to cover celebrities attending sports events.
“I just think the NFL’s not used to celebrities coming to the games. Like basketball has it figured out. They’re all courtside, they’re sitting there, they show them once or twice and then they get back to the game,” Jason Kelce said. “The NFL is like ‘look at all these A-list celebrities at the game!’”
In addition to showing Swift at the games multiple times, the league also promoted her appearances heavily on social media. The NFL changed the banner image on its X account, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, to photos of the pop icon recently, although that has since changed to a promotion for an upcoming game.
The NFL also posted a video of Swift talking to Lively at the game on its Instagram account. It was captioned: The @chiefs are 2-0 with @taylorswift in attendance.

Travis Kelce thinks football and Swift fans are overwhelmed right now.
The Chiefs star first broke his silence about Swift in late September during a previous episode of his “New Heights” podcast as questions were swirling about whether the two were dating. He said he was on a “rollercoaster of life,” since Swift’s first appearance at a Chiefs game. He said Swift coming to the game was “ballsy” of her.
“I just thought it was awesome how everyone in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her,” Travis Kelce said. “You know, the friends and family. She looked amazing, everybody was talking about her in a great light.”

Taylor Swift’s athletic-inspired style is here to stay, and her latest appearance is further proof. On Oct. 3, the singer and friend Keleigh Teller arrived at a New York City studio with Swift in the most casual ensemble. For an average off-duty day, she wore a Shania Twain graphic tee from Daydreamer LA, black biker shorts, green ruffle socks, and the Ganni x New Balance 1906R sneakers, which are still available to shop. Her outfit was highly reminiscent of Princess Diana’s timeless gym style (think: her biker shorts era in the ’90s), and Swift capped things off with a Still Here New York dad cap, a Louis Vuitton camera box bag, and black sunglasses.
Not long ago, Swift turned to sporty clothing as a sartorial go-to. In May, she gave us a glimpse into this aesthetic with an NYU sweatshirt, pleated miniskirt, and sneakers from The Row for date night with then-boyfriend Matt Healy, and she also wore a Free People miniskirt and striped button-down in June.
More recently, the 33-year-old’s love for the laid-back style category has seemingly heightened since making things official with her new alleged beau, Travis Kelce. On Sept. 24, Swift supported the NFL star at his game in a Chiefs windbreaker, which she layered over a white cropped tank top by Dôen and teamed with Ksubi distressed denim shorts and a pair of red-and-white New Balance 550 sneakers. She attended another Chiefs game on Sunday, Oct. 1 in a black long-sleeved crewneck, Area embellished cutoffs, and Christian Louboutin knee-high boots, putting a high-end twist on your average game-day outfit.
As the “Shake It Off” singer continues to make her stylish mark, shop similar versions of her Shania Twain shirt ahead.

If there’s one thing Taylor Swift knows about game day, it’s that no outfit is complete without a sleek pair of New Balance sneakers. While cheering on Travis Kelce at a Kansas City Chiefs game on Sept. 24, Swift wore a white cropped tank top by Dôen, Ksubi distressed denim shorts, a Chiefs windbreaker, and a pair of red-and-white 550 New Balance sneakers. On Oct. 3, Swift was again spotted in a pair of New Balances — this time the Ganni x New Balance 1906R sneaker — during a stroll through New York City. She styled the shoes with black bike shorts, a Still Here New York Dad Cap, a Louis Vuitton camera box bag, and an oversize Shania Twain t-shirt from Free People.
Since making her public debut with Kelce on Sept. 24, Swift has seemingly adopted a sports-centric wardrobe with a focus on athleisure pieces like sweatshirts and running shoes. The shift in her style has been so noticeable, in fact, that sales for the 550 New Balance sneaker increased by 25 percent in the week following her game-day appearance, according to Complex. Notably, the sneakers first made their debut in 1989, making them a possible nod to “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” her upcoming rerecorded album.
Joined by celebrity friends — including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Brittany Mahomes, and Sophie Turner — Swift attended another Chiefs game on Oct 1. This time, the star arrived in a pair of Area embellished denim shorts, an opulent upgrade from the traditional game day sweats and joggers. She completed the look with a black long-sleeved crewneck shirt, a Gant Studio leather shirt, and Christian Louboutin knee-high boots in place of her usual sneakers.
Like her Eras tour closet, Swift’s game-day wardrobe is scoring major style points from every angle, including her footwear. Shop Swift’s exact New Balance sneakers ahead.

Princess Diana was certainly not the first person to wear bike shorts with an oversized sweatshirt, running shoes, and high socks, but she was definitely the most memorable celebrity to do so. When I saw Taylor Swift in a similar outfit combo in New York City today, it immediately reminded me of the late royal’s iconic style.
Photographed outside the Electric Lady Studios today, Swift wore a baggy Daydreamer tee with bike shorts, New Balance running shoes, a Louis Vuitton bag, and FP Movement ruffled socks. This also happens to be my preferred outfit for running errands, working out, or just lounging around my house. Scroll down to see how Taylor Swift and Princess Diana styled bike shorts and shop the look for yourself.

It looks like Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, is well on her way to becoming a Swiftie.
After Donna was spotted hanging out and cheering on her son alongside Taylor Swift for two weeks in a row at Kansas City Chiefs games, the NFL mom is singing the pop star’s praises on social media.
Donna’s seeming stamp of approval for Swift comes amid increasingly inescapable rumors that the 12-time Grammy winner is dating Travis, a tight end for the Chiefs.
On Monday, Donna posted a cozy clip on Instagram of her embracing the “Cruel Summer” singer during the Chiefs’ game against the New York Jets on Sunday night.
“Travis Kelce’s biggest fans [heart emoji],” read the caption of the Instagram post, which was also shared by NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” page.
Swift’s recent enthusiastic support for the Chiefs player has prompted a wave of “Traylor” memes and tweets on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter. Donna joined in on the fun of one particular meme that’s had the internet in a chokehold.
Fans will recall that after Swift was seen eating chicken tenders at the Chiefs’ Sept. 24 game, a fan site amusingly described her choice of dipping sauces as “ketchup and seemingly ranch.”
The innocuous condiment choice turned into an entire social media movement by way of endless tweets, with Heinz even announcing plans to release a limited edition of “Ketchup and Seemingly Ranch” sauce.
On Sunday, Donna Kelce nodded to the meme while cheering on her older son Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, at Lincoln Financial Field, E! News reports.
Sharing a picture of herself with a basket of chicken fingers and ketchup on her Instagram Stories, she captioned the post: “No ‘Seemingly Ranch’ Here at the Linc.”
Things between Swift and Donna seem to be going swimmingly. In a story published Monday, an unidentified source told People that “Donna likes Taylor and thinks she’s very sweet and down to earth.”
Last month, buzz about the pair’s possible romance ignited after Page Six reported that Swift and the two-time Super Bowl champ had been “quietly hanging out” for weeks.
The gossip took further flight after the “Bad Blood” singer was seen walking and smiling with Travis after the Chiefs’ win. She allegedly left the game with him.
Though neither party has publicly confirmed their relationship, the star athlete appeared tickled pink over Swift and her support of him during a recent episode of his podcast “New Heights.”
“That was pretty ballsy,” Travis told his brother Jason, referring to Swift “pulling up” to his game against the Chicago Bears last month.
He added: “I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her ― the friends and family.”

Taylor Swift is getting her girl cooties all over the NFL.
The pop superstar’s flavor of the moment seems to be Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, which has prompted Swift to attend two of his games.
The first was on Sept. 24, when the Chiefs trounced the Chicago Bears. Swift’s attendance seemed to support rumors that she was dating Kelce, although neither party has publicly confirmed their relationship. Nonetheless, her mere presence at the game eclipsed the sporting event itself.
So on Sunday, when Swift attended the Chiefs’ game against the New York Jets with a few celebrity friends in tow, including Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, all eyes — and cameras — were on Swift.
Fully aware of Swift’s PR power, the NFL even used three photos of the “You Belong with Me” singer’s reactions during the game as its background image on its X account on Monday.
Screenshot @NFL via X/Twitter.
And although Swift’s apparent romance with a beloved Super Bowl champ does reek a bit of a publicity stunt (perhaps to distract from her previous romantic entanglement with a racist) — some of the backlash she’s received from NFL fans also reeks of sexism and far-right values.
Media Matters found that dozens of conservative pundits have attacked Kelce for appearances in Pfzier and Bud Light ads that they interpret as a sign of his support for COVID-19 vaccines and LGBTQ+ rights. Swift’s left-leaning politics, meanwhile, have encouraged some on the right to resort to grade-school insults, flat-out criticizing her appearance and labeling Kelce a less-dominant “beta” male.
Yet the bulk of the attacks seem to come from people who just seem annoyed that Swift is distracting from the brutal and hyper-masculine sport of football. When the Chiefs played the Jets on Sunday, the hashtag “Enough Taylor Swift” began to trend on X.
Some social media users have even gone as far as suggesting the NFL rigged the Chiefs vs. Jets game in the Chiefs’ favor to appease Swift’s fans and boost ratings.
Interestingly enough, right-wing commentator Tomi Lahren chimed in on X about all the “Traylor” coverage, even though she admits in the same post that she’s not even a football fan.
Yet other social media users are calling out the right-leaning nonsense and defending Swift.
And if you happen to be someone who is on the fence about Swift’s attendance at NFL games, there does seem to be one huge benefit:

Taylor Swift is officially in her sporty era, continuing her off-duty sartorial streak with another moment that’s left fans completely obsessed. On Sunday, Oct. 1, the singer supported her alleged beau, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, as his team played against the New York Jets. Friends Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Brittany Mahomes, and Sophie Turner also joined Swift for the big game day.
The 33-year-old’s ensemble included one of fall’s most classic outfit combinations: jeans and boots. She started with a sleek black long-sleeved crewneck shirt, which accented her Christian Louboutin knee-high boots. The pièce de résistance was a pair of Area embellished denim shorts (which are currently sold out but eligible for restock notification). Replete with silver studs along the zipper and right pocket, they were nothing short of eye-catching. Swift accessorized with an assortment of gold and silver jewelry, including the Queen Cuban choker and pavé diamond Trillion Toggle from Logan Hollowell. She also rocked her signature bangs, cherry-red lips, and black chrome nails.
Swift’s latest appearance aligns with her more relaxed approach to an offstage wardrobe. Just last week, she appeared at Kelce’s first game of the season in a team-inspired outfit that featured a red, black, and white Chiefs windbreaker; distressed denim Ksubi shorts; and New Balance 550 sneakers. Her other casual looks included a knit Reformation dress and boots combo for a dinner date with friend Sophie Turner and a pleated Free People miniskirt and striped button-down shirt midsummer in New York City.
The “Cruel Summer” singer’s Eras Tour costumes are just as noteworthy. Throughout the culture-defining concert series, which is being documented in movie form, Swift has conquered the stage in a host of monumental looks. Her Elie Saab Haute Couture tulle ballgown blooms into a dramatic organza skirt, and her minidresses and catsuits are designed by the likes of Versace, Roberto Cavalli, and Oscar de la Renta.
As we anticipate Swift’s next game-day appearance, keep scrolling to shop pieces from her outfit, along with more affordable options.

Virgo season is upon us—again. Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour is headed to the big screen, the Grammy winner announced early Monday following the first reports of the film’s existence. She uploaded the trailer for Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé alongside the caption “Be careful what you ask for, ’cause I just might comply,” quoting her song “All Up in Your Mind.”
Released by the singer’s production company, Parkwood Entertainment, the film will reportedly blend live concert footage with “parts of the long-gestating visual album Renaissance and a documentary-style account of making the record and building out the tour,” as reported by Variety. Says Beyoncé in the trailer, “When I am performing, I am nothing but free. The goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged.”
At one point Beyoncé can be seen rehearsing alongside her oldest daughter and current backup dancer, Blue Ivy Carter, and fans also get a glimpse of Rumi and Sir, her twins with Jay-Z. “Start over, start fresh, create the new, that’s what the Renaissance is about,” she says.
The Renaissance film will hit US theaters on December 1. Tickets start at $22 plus tax, a paltry sum in comparison to the $322 average ticket price for the tour, according to StubHub data reported by CNBC. Plans for a movie have long been in the pipeline, as reported by Variety, with crews having been spotted filming footage in Beyoncé’s hometown of Houston last month. Mega agency CAA had reportedly been shopping the potential documentary to studios and streamers since September.
Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour, which beckoned celebrities and royals alike in a sea of silver outfits, began on May 10, 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden, and concluded last night in Kansas City, Missouri. It overlapped with Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, which becomes its own theatrical attraction on October 13. The latter film has already smashed advance ticket sales records and caused at least five films, including horror sequel Exorcist: Believer, to shift dates. December new releases have officially been put on notice.

The inherent mistrust of our collective society was boiled down to two keywords in a caption on September 25, 2023: “seemingly ranch.” The off-handed comment by one of many die-hard Swifties was made via what will always be called Twitter, through the account, @tswifterastour. Like many accounts, @tswifterastour is run by a fan who takes it upon themself to provide regular updates on the various goings-on (both personal and professional) in Swift’s life. The latest being her apparent transition into the cheerleader she derided on “You Belong With Me” by showing up to Kansas City Chiefs football games to support her current flame, Travis Kelce. In the week since the post went up, Swift has already attended another game (this time with her requisite “squad,” as though to harken us back to her “Bad Blood” era in time for the 1989 [Taylor’s Version] release at the end of October). But it didn’t offer any viral moment on par with what @tswifterastour did by simply writing a “speculative” caption.
A caption that, in fact, speaks to the self-imposed role of “sleuth” that every internet and true crime junkie has taken on for themselves in the past several years. This stemming from the rightful sense of suspicion that has arisen over the decades of lies and assorted “massaged truths” presented by some of the world’s most “reputable” institutions, not least among them being the U.S. government. And while, “obviously,” the white substance on Swift’s grossly-presented plate wasn’t cum, for fuck’s sake, the use of “seemingly” made the ranch come across as though it could be something else (as some outlets have posited). Even some kind of coded message from Swift herself, revered by fans for Easter egg-laying as much as anything. Alas, in a time where everything is questioned (no matter how “self-evident” it might have once been), @tswifterastour’s caption not only makes all the sense in the world, but is a reflection of the present, that’s right, era. That is to say, questioning everything we see as digital manipulation not only ramps up, but becomes more sophisticated thanks to AI.
One thing, however, that has remained “evergreen” in most eras since Adam Smith fucked us all over is the instant swooping in of various corporations (this time, condiment brands) to capitalize on the sudden newfound interest in a product. In this scenario, ranch (which is unfortunate for other condiments if, in reality, it wasn’t ranch at all). From Heinz to Hidden Valley (the OG creator of the dressing), big business has all at once seen the “power of Swifties” yet again. This time in a far more profitable way than Ticketmaster did last year amid the Eras Tour presale fiasco. Even McDonald’s has gotten in on the “craze” with ad copy that reads, “Seemingly Ranch, Definitely McNuggets.” After all, Taylor is the greatest representation of the celebrity-industrial complex since Britney Spears (who has proven she still has quite an effect on product sales if her recent ability to save a fledgling prop shop is any indication). What’s more, businesses are likely relishing (no condiment pun intended) how the word “seemingly” makes it even easier to get away with selling what amounts to artificial food. It’s almost tantamount to the very specific verbiage on beauty labels that say things like, “May reduce dark circles.” Not necessarily, though. Only seemingly. The word is the perfect “asterisk” to defend against any legal blowback. After all, the Cambridge Dictionary defines it as “appearing to be something, especially when it is not true.” That couldn’t describe America itself any better: appearing to be a beacon of freedom when it is anything but.
Which brings us to how “Miss Americana” herself is falling even more into that title as she becomes a fried chicken-eating football proponent who dresses in what looks like the Hooters uniform for a cameo at the game. Specifically, the game where she was eating seemingly ranch. All of this ultimately fortifying what can be called “quintessentially American” propaganda. And, unlike Swift’s one-time collaborator, Lana Del Rey, she isn’t dredging up Americana tropes of the 50s and 60s as a larger statement on decay, but rather, reinforcing what Republicans would call “good old-fashioned American values.” The image of a white blonde girl going to support her white football player boyfriend at the “big game” has summed up that cliche for centuries.
And then there is the proud display of the nastiest-looking plate to consider. Featuring a piece of fried chicken that’s shaped like the turd emoji, positioned near two foul “plops” of her condiments of choice. Clearly, no one thought food styling might be important for any and all images of Swift at this event. And why would they? Americans really don’t care about how things look or taste; they just want to shove some kind of slop into their mouth and call it “nourishment.” Ranch certainly fits that bill. And it’s not surprising that 1) Hidden Valley Ranch is owned by “renowned” bleach purveyor Clorox and 2) ranch would go on to surpass Italian dressing as “America’s favorite” in 1992. After all, why would Americans want anything so natural (minus the corn syrup, of course) and simple as the contents of that style of dressing?
As Swift taps into “American dreams” by way of Abercrombie visions of America (side note: Taylor did model for Abercrombie in 2003, a year she calls “unbearable” [seemingly for the fashion choices] on Midnights’ “Paris”), the enthusiastic reaction to her “football/ranch dressing era” is on par with the reason conservative voters got on board with the “Make America Great Again” slogan. These are the “good, clean” images people, seemingly, want to see. Like Jenna Rink (Jennifer Garner) in 13 Going On 30 conjuring up yearbook-inspired photos for her magazine’s redesign and announcing of the “clean-cut” images, “I wanna see my best friend’s big sister, and the girls from the soccer team, my next-door neighbor. Real women who are smart and pretty and happy to be who they are… We need to remember what used to be good.” And what used to be “good” was always the football player/cheerleader trope. As tried-and-true as mocking a bald woman. Both Swift and the NFL are catering to this old-hat method for their separate reasons—the commentary on “foodstuffs” in the U.S. just happened to be an added bonus for those on the outside looking in at what Americans willingly choose to consume. Not to mention an added bonus for corporations banking (literally) on how Americans don’t question anything they put into their mouth. They honestly can’t afford to. And hey, since all-American, relatable Swift is such a “seeming” fan of ranch and fried chicken, how bad can it be?
Yet no one increasing their ranch consumption wants to acknowledge that while they’ll likely notice signs of it on (and inside) their body, Swift will continue to stave off any traces of unhealthy diet habits by frequenting Body by Simone classes in New York. Such is the benefit of peddling “Americana” while being able to pay to erase its effects on you personally. All under the pretense of being just another “relatable queen.”
But newsflash: there is nothing relatable about the football player/cheerleader (or cheerleader-adjacent) cliche. It only continues to endure precisely because, sadly, people still find it aspirational. Indeed, as Swift has confirmed in many of her lyrics, high school never really ends, having a tendency to, at the bare minimum, rear its ugly head repeatedly in the not-so-coded language of pop culture. And yeah, ranch feels like code for Kelce’s cum in this case, too.

Swifties’ wildest dreams are coming true because Taylor Swift is back for another one of Travis Kelce‘s games.
A week after the pop star set the internet ablaze by popping up next to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s mom at his game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, she’s officially back in the stands for another round of Sunday football — this time against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Swift wasn’t alone, either. In videos posted to social media from inside the stadium, Swift arrived at the game alongside close friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, as well as Hugh Jackman. Swift was also seen with Sabrina Carpenter and Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski.
Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, also came out for the big game, alongside his girlfriend, Sydney Ness.
A source previously told ET that the world-famous performer was planning on attending the game.
“The Jets haven’t been notified specifically about Taylor coming to Sunday’s game, but are prepared to welcome her if she decides to come,” another source said. “Patrick Mahomes booked a suite for his family and friends and Taylor could be joining that suite.”

Swift’s trip to Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri last Sunday — where she was later spotted walking with Kelce after the game — was the unexpected confirmation that she and the football pro are actually more than just friends. The physical proof sparked serious excitement over a possible pairing between pop and football royalty.
Back in July, Kelce expressed his interest in the singer, revealing on his podcast that he had wanted to give her a friendship bracelet at her Kansas City show, but was bummed that he did not get to meet with her.
“Travis has been into Taylor for a while and definitely has a crush on her,” a source told ET. “He is a simple guy that is very funny, charismatic, chill, and loves playing football.”
Now, a source tells ET the two are “excited about where things are headed.”
“When Taylor and Travis first connected, Taylor was looking to have fun while enjoying some downtime,” the source said. “So far, it’s been a nice change of pace for her. Now, as things progress between Taylor and Travis, they’re both looking to keep it more private. They’re both excited about where things are headed.”

Maya Benberry parted ways with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce over six years ago, after the relationship they started during Kelce’s eponymous dating competition show shockingly foundered. Thrust back into the spotlight after her ex was spotted with mega-star Taylor Swift, Benberry says that fans of the singer have targeted her with harassment and threats—even as the life coach and marketing consultant expressed support for Swift.
Benberry and Kelce met when they both appeared on Catching Kelce, a reality dating series in which women from each of America’s 50 states vied to enter into a romance with the athlete. Benberry “won” the show, which aired in E! in 2016. But by 2017, the pair had ended their romance, with Benberry claiming in a series of since-deleted tweets that Kelce had been unfaithful.
That’s where the matter remained for the better part of a decade. Then Pandora’s box opened earlier this week, when Swift attended Sunday’s Chiefs game, seated in a box next to Kelce’s mother and leaving the stadium with Kelce at the end of the day.
It was a sight that seemed to fulfill the hints dropped by Kelce’s brother, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. On a morning radio show earlier this month, Jason first said of his brother and Swift’s rumored relationship, “I think they’re doing great, and I think it’s all 100 percent true and I hope that this thing goes the mile,” before saying “Nah, I’m joking, I don’t know what’s going on.”
The former reality star, himself, has refused to confirm or deny a romance with Swift, saying on the podcast he does with his brother that “it is my personal life, and I want to respect both of our lives.”
But as Kelce profiler Tom Kludt notes, “Eagled-eyed Swifties have applied their characteristic scrutiny to ‘Mother’s’ new flame and combed through Kelce’s social media,” where they doubtlessly came across his long-ago liaison with Benberry, among other details. Was her mere existence what inspired them to target Benberry with their wrath? That’s unclear, but what we do know is that Benberry has been publicly supportive of Swift, even as she recalled some of her less happy memories of Kelce.
“Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit, so I wish her the best of luck, but I wouldn’t be a girls’ girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart,” Benberry told the Daily Mail. “Only time will tell, but like the saying always goes, once a cheater, always a cheater.”
Unnamed sources “close to Kelce” denied the allegations to TMZ, saying that “the two only dated for a month after the show, and couldn’t publicly announce their actual split because of a contract they had in place with the network” and that “Travis never cheated on Maya.”
Benberry also praised Swift in an interview with Inside Edition this week, in which she said, “I don’t know Taylor Swift, but I’m a fan of her music.”
“I don’t feel any way about her dating Travis … She’s beautiful. She’s successful. We’re in two different lanes.”
Via X (formerly Twitter), she doubled down on those remarks after an odd kerfuffle over what Benberry says was an “accidental like” of a social media post critical of Swift. “Do you really think that I’m dumb enough to put out a statement as a girls girl and then go and like hateful comments?” she asked.
Apparently, Swift’s fans do think that, as they have sent her death threats, Benberry told Inside Edition. “Swifties are aggressive, very negative, very hypocritical,” Benberry told the program. “It’s really crazy to me that someone I think is positive and really nice would have such a negative and angry fan base.”
Folks who are familiar with the fandoms of Star Wars, Naruto, or BTS might find the reaction less surprising than Benberry does, as might anyone who is familiar with the current level of discourse on X. But Benberry is unbowed by the opposition, tweeting last night that “I learned a lot of lessons these past few days, but I don’t regret at all on speaking my truth.” As of publication time, that tweet has 76 responses, the majority of them negative.

Concha, a columnist for The Messenger, railed about the “Karma” singer appearing to shout “let’s fucking go” while cheering on her rumored love interest after the star tight end scored to push his team to a 40-0 lead last weekend.
“Here you have Taylor Swift, probably just met Travis Kelce’s mom for the first time, they’re at the game last week and she’s going ‘let’s effin’ go,′ right in front of her,’” Concha remarked on Friday’s edition of “Fox & Friends First.”
Fox News’ Carley Shimkus interjected and noted that Kelce’s family found Swift to be “lovely” before Concha dismissed the argument.
“Lovely. I’m sorry, if I heard that and my son was dating a girl who has a mouth like a Teamster, that’s it. Either way, this couple’s already more annoying.”
The comments arrived after Concha, earlier in the program, declared that he would double down on his criticism where he called the singer “trash” in an appearance on “The Annie Frey Show” this past week.
Social media users on X (formerly Twitter) brushed off Concha’s take on the pair and joked that he should listen to Kelce speak.
Swift is reportedly set to be in the crowd to watch Kelce’s Chiefs take on the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium this weekend in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

“You may or may not see me at some Dolphins games,” Alix Earle says on TikTok. Cut to footage of the influencer tailgating outside of Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on Sept. 24. She and her friends are drinking mimosas, and she’s wearing an oversize Braxton Berrios jersey she customized by cutting down the middle. Then she’s on the field, twerking beside the team mascot.
Earle and Barrios previously made their first public appearance at the ESPY Awards in July, but this somehow felt like their big debut. It’s worth noting the Dolphins went on to score 70 points that game, the most points any NFL team has scored since 1966. A few days after, Berrios shared a photo hugging Earle on the sidelines. “Big W,” his caption reads.
As fame itself shifts, more celebrity couples seem to be using sporting events to hard launch their romances. (It helps if your significant other is on the team.) Though her sideline support indicates otherwise, Earle has been famously private about her relationship: in her podcast “Hot Mess,” she won’t refer to Berrios by name, instead just calling him “Football Man.” And while she details her life in daily “get ready with me” videos, Earle is just as mysterious about Berrios on TikTok, where she’ll share snippets from date night but won’t show his face.
Maybe it’s because social media is intimate. Sports arenas — filled with tens of thousands of screaming fans — are not. This brings us to Taylor Swift. After months of public courting, the singer, currently on a brief break from her Eras Tour, cheered on Travis Kelce at a Kansas City Chiefs game on Sept. 24. Wearing her signature red lipstick, Swift watched the game from a suite with Kelce’s mom, Donna, among other close friends and family. “Let’s f*cking go,” she was seen screaming after Kelce caught a touchdown.
Swift has debuted previous relationships in a variety of ways. There was her idyllic autumn walk with Jake Gyllenhaal, and her Central Park date with Harry Styles. Swift and Tom Hiddleton were first spotted kissing atop rocks in Rhode Island after previously meeting at the Met Gala. With her last longterm boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, she attended the premiere of his film “The Favourite,” although she didn’t walk the red carpet. But as far as the public knows, Swift has never dated an athlete, which comes with new territory.
A game is a world’s away from a red carpet: the clothing is casual, you don’t have to pose for photos or do any interviews, there’s seemingly ranch. Tucked away in a suite, you’re a spectacle within a spectacle. With your crush down on the field, you don’t even have to publicly interact. You’re together, and yet not. Plus, with the fate of award season previously in question due to the newly resolved writers’ strike, sports and concerts were the big public arenas stars had left.
From a publicity perspective, it’s masterful. Kelce thinks it was “pretty ballsy.” In an episode of his “New Heights” podcast following the big game, the football star praised Swift for showing up. “She looked amazing. Everybody was talking about her in great light and on top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course. We script it all, ladies and gentlemen.” Kelce said he won’t be divulging too many details going forward, but he added, “It was definitely a game I’ll remember, that’s for damn sure.”
“Embrace your homecoming queen, date the quarterback (or tight end, in this case).”
Kelce jerseys are flying off shelves following Swift’s support, per the Associated Press. The Chiefs game on Sunday was also the week’s most-watched telecast on any network. It’s a peculiar time for football to be having this celebrity moment after the NFL has faced growing criticism in recent years over allegations of racial discrimination and the contact sport’s effects on players. But it sure sounds right: after a maligned fling with the alternative guy, embrace your homecoming queen, date the quarterback (or tight end, in this case).
This trend is taking place beyond football, too: days after making their first public appearance at a Beyoncé concert, Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner put on a very loved-up display at the US Open on Sept. 10. Chalamet took a photo of Jenner on a film camera, and kissed her as she clutched her Honey Deuce. Though many notable figures attended the tennis tournament, this appearance, which happened during the final match, was viewed by many as a master class from the Kris Jenner school of publicity.
There is, of course, great precedent here. Take David and Victoria Beckham, who can boast over two decades of marriage and four children — and it all started at the soccer stadium. In a teaser for the upcoming Netflix docuseries “Beckham,” Victoria admits she attended Manchester United games just to see (and presumably pursue) David. “The fact I went to the games really was just to kind of,” she says, “some would say ‘stalk’ him. I would say ‘see’ him.”
Basketball, meanwhile, has been pivotal to the public rollout of Adele’s relationship with sports agent Rich Paul. A few years after her highly publicized divorce, Adele and Paul sparked dating rumors with a series of NBA appearances: they sat courtside together at the 2021 NBA Finals, and the following year, attended the NBA All-Star Game. Several more courtside appearances have since been made, to the point where if you Google the couple, you’ll mostly see photos of them at basketball games. “Lucky for him, I love basketball,” Adele told Elle in 2022.
The trend will only continue as more celebrities discover the PR potential. In recent weeks, Kim Kardashian has been reportedly spending time with Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. So, it wouldn’t be entirely out of left field (sincerest apologies for the pun) for the marketing master to show up at a game in the near future, likely wearing Skims.
As for Swift, it’s been reported that she’ll again be cheering Kelce on during the Chiefs-Jets game in New Jersey on Oct. 1. Kelce will be playing at the MetLife Stadium — the same stadium Swift sold out for three nights a few months ago. In total over the course of those three nights, Swift performed to over 200,000 fans for a combined nine hours. But this Sunday, she’ll sit back, watch, and be watched.

While the verdict is still out on the SAG-AFTRA strike ― i.e., the union that represents actors, performers and on-screen talent ― the writers strike is officially over! After 146 days, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers reached a tentative agreement with the Writers Guild of America on Monday evening. Thank you to senior culture reporter Marina Fang, who has been spearheading HuffPost’s strike coverage.
The topic that quite literally never seems to die, though, is the clear PR stunt between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, which some are referring to as “Swiftce.” After dating an alleged racist, Swift is aligning herself with a beloved NFL player, a man who is mutually benefitting from being associated with America’s favorite white woman. Last Sunday, she attended the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears and was seen in the skybox with Kelce’s mother.
I think what happened here is that Kelce got a little too much dip on his chip with the friendship bracelet, committed to the bit a little too hard, and now has to follow through. Per Page Six, he has a type (which, Swift does not particularly fall into) and his very first ex-girlfriend has taken to Inside Edition to talk about their relationship from *checks notes* seven years ago. The only thing I’m looking forward to from Swiftce is the breakup anthem we may get soon.
Speaking of football: In other, much better news, Usher is the confirmed 2024 Super Bowl halftime show performer. My first reaction when I learned this was, “He hasn’t performed at the Super Bowl yet?!” It is a long-awaited and deserved accomplishment, and I can’t wait to see what Usher Raymond opens with. I’m guessing either “O.M.G.” or “Yeah!” but only time will tell. I would love to see him and his protege Justin Bieber run this 2011 Grammys performance back.
What is sadly approaching its end is Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour. With one date left, Beyoncé has broken the record for the highest-grossing month, earning $179 million in a single month and paving the way for her “on the list of artists with the highest-grossing tours,” according to Forbes. Beyhive, we speculated about the set lists and a Destiny’s Child reunion. We sobbed and stressed over tickets. We got dressed to the nines en route to the stadiums. We cheered for Blue Ivy and laughed, danced and sang our hearts out. But when one member of the hive was unable to make it due to ableist constraints, Parkwood flew him out.
Longtime fan Jon Hetherington, 34, was en route to see Bey in Seattle but was denied access to his flight because his wheelchair reportedly wouldn’t fit into the plane properly. After his story went viral on TikTok and fans tagged the Parkwood account, amends were made and Hetherington got to meet Beyoncé and her mother, Ms. Tina. While he got his wishes, Hetherington made a note that this is not just about one singular airline, but about a “society built to exclude disabled people.” And he is absolutely correct.
Before we say goodbye to this transformative tour (and speculate about Renaissance: Act II), read up on the latest edition of the Culture Catchall.

The so-called “Taylor Swift Effect” is not just boosting Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs, but other NFL teams. Swift, who appeared in Kelce’s box at the Chiefs game on Sept. 24, is affecting tickets to the team’s upcoming game against the Jets at Met Life Stadium on Oct 1.
Since Swift’s headline-making appearance at Arrowhead Stadium – which she exited hand-in-hand with Kelce – fans have speculated that she might watch him play again on Sunday. In an attempt to be in the presence of the pop star at Met Life Stadium, fans have apparently been scooping up tickets, with several ticket sales sites reporting a boost.
Jason Hanna/Getty Images
StubHub, a ticket resale platform, saw a 175% jump in Chiefs-Jets ticket sales three days after Swift’s appearance at the Sept. 24 Chiefs game, a representative for the company told CBS News. Nearly 20% of tickets for the Oct. 1 game were sold the night of Swift’s appearance. The Chiefs-Jets game is also the second highest-selling game for the weekend, behind the Patriots-Cowboys game.
Other platforms also saw a surge in Chiefs-Jets ticket sales after Swift’s appearance. Between Sunday, Sept. 24 and Monday, Sept. 25, ticket resale platform SeatGeek saw a 26% increase in average ticket prices for the Chiefs-Jets game, a representative for the company told CBS News.
Average ticket prices started at $168 on Sunday, jumped to $212 on Monday and continued to slowly increase. On Wednesday, tickets to the game were up an average $245.
Vivid Seats, another ticket sales site, confirmed to CBS News that prices for tickets to the upcoming Chiefs-Jets game increased 14% since Swift appeared in Kelce’s box on Sept. 24.
Not only that, traffic for the Chiefs-Jets game page on Vivid Seats increased 173% and traffic to the Chiefs page on the site increased 126%.
And fans seem to be looking further ahead – traffic to the Vikings-Chiefs game page, where fans can buy tickets to the Oct. 8 game, have increased 121%.
There is value in having Swift at your stadium – average ticket prices to her Eras Tour shows at Metlife, U.S. Bank, Empower Field, Gilette, Allegiant and SoFi Stadium were 242% higher than the average price for tickets to Chiefs games at those same stadiums, according to a representative for Vivid Seats.
The news of increased demand for tickets comes after Swift was credited with boosting sales of Kelce’s jersey by roughly 400%. A TikTok trend was also spurred from that moment: Swift fans jokingly ask their significant others and friends how they feel about the pop star putting Kelce on the map.
She has even made an impact on condiments. Swift was seen at the Chiefs game “eating a piece of chicken with ketchup and seemingly ranch,” according to fan account @tswifterastour. Heinz quickly posted about a “Ketchup and Seemingly Ranch” combo. The condiment brand has always sold what it calls “Kranch” but the new limited edition of the product is an ode to the now-viral Swift post.
While several new examples of the “Taylor Swift Effect” have surfaced in recent days, Swift has made a big impact on fans in the past.
On Sept. 21, she urged her Instagram followers to register to vote at Vote.org – and 35,000 did, according to the organization’s CEO Andrea Hailey. Another 50,000 verified their voter registration status.

I spend the week excited for new music, because quite frankly I go through so many minutes of listening that I need a constant flow of new tracks to get me through each week. It’s the price of being a music reporter and lover, you simply can never have enough. And, if I can let you in on a little secret, we’ve got a ton of great new tunes this week.
What I love about fall is there is literally no choice but to sit inside with your AirPods on stare out the window, yearning for warmer weather. And while you have your normal queue of fall albums (for me: Noah Kahan’s Stick Season (We’ll All Be Here Forever), Taylor Swift’s 1989, and Harry Styles’ Harry Styles), there’s always room for a new favorite song or two.
There’s no need to do all the searching yourself, which is why I take the liberty of curating a special playlist for you! So let’s not waste anymore time and get to it…the moment we’ve all been waiting for (or maybe just me, who knows?)
Drumroll please…let’s get listening!
Jeremy Zucker- “this time”
Recovered from his hit album, summer, Jeremy Zucker is releasing “this time”…five years later! Zucker just released a new album, is nothing sacred?, this year and is preparing for his North American tour starting in October. It’s all about celebrating how far he’s come as both a musician and songwriter, five years after the mega hit “come thru” hit the charts.
He’s someone who can collaborate with any genre, his voice melding perfectly into his duet’s. A threat in the music industry who just gets it, Zucker’s song “this time” proves he’s known who he is from the start.
Surf Mesa ft. Griff Clawson- “Run”
Surf Mesa continues to blaze his own trail in the electronic dance community with “Run”, a borderline perfect collaboration with Griff Clawson. A talented producer and songwriter, Surf Mesa builds momentum as Griff soundtracks a song about running away from the good ones. Surf is in the middle of touring, and is releasing his debut EP Come True soon, but he’s not slowing down…and “Run” is proof.
“The track ‘Run’ off my upcoming EP Come True is one of my favorites,” Surf Mesa says. “I’ve been diligentlyworking on this unreleased track, and it’s been a deeply personal project for me. I’m excited to share it withyou. This song represents a significant chapter in my musical journey, and I believe it will resonate with you in a profound way.
Oliver Tree- Alone In A Crowd
Oliver Tree is perhaps the most creative, one-of-a-kind artists out there…constantly paving the way using different sounds, instruments, and synths to curate songs that are both easy and exciting to hear. Now, he’s back with his third studio album, Alone In A Crowd, 14 tracks including features from Super Computer and the iconic Robin Schulz.
Tree is about to tour the new album through Australia and the UK, and his live shows aren’t one to be missed. Picking apart social media and the need for approval in this new EP, it’s both thought-provoking and uplifting.
Del Water Gap- I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet
Del Water Gap has consistently put out solid, soulful tracks that make you want to press replay when you finish. Now, he’s back with his EP, I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet, 12 tracks of honesty, passion, and self-reflection. It stays true to your classic Del Water Gap sound- fun and playful, mellow and melancholic.
This is the sophomore album from Del Water Gap, who has given us classics like “Better Than I Know Myself” and “Ode To A Conversation Stuck In Your Throat.” An instant classic, he’s solidifying himself as a dynamic singer-songwriter in the industry today.
Joy (Anonymous)- “JOY (I Did You Wrong)”
In anticipation of their new album, Cult Classics, Joy (Anonymous) is taking their iconic music to the next level. Blending sounds of disco, house, and soul through talented songwriting, Joy (Anonymous) is constantly coming up with innovative ways to change the game. “JOY (I Did You Wrong)” is another example of how the duo can make a hit that sounds different than anything you’ve heard before.
“Cult Classics is the soundtrack of Joy Anonymous meetings over the past two years. It began in Imogen Heap’s house in Romford. where we spent two weeks working with various friends and new collaborators to form the skeletons of what was to become the album you hear today. Then we took these sounds on tour and tested them out in meetings around the world, honing and developing the sound on the move. Joy Anonymous is a movement where people feel included and feel safe to share expression and emotion. We have tried to capture that in the sound, process and delivery of this album,” says Joy (Anonymous).
Jade LeMac- “Grapevines”
Jade LeMac lends her clever wit and strong voice to “Grapevines” before her sophomore EP, Confessions, drops. A metaphor for love and yearning, LeMac has an ability to turn any given feeling into a song. It’s fun to listen to her music, which is brutally honest in all the best ways…she’s cutting edge and “Grapevines” is just the beginning.
“‘Grapevines’ is one of the more fun songs I’ve written. I remember being in the studio and seeing a vine, then thinking about the word ‘grapevines’ – and how cool and unique it would be to use that in a song. So I decided to base this whole song off of that one word. Naturally, it led me to think about being fed grapes (like how you used to see in the movies), and drinking wine (because that’s obviously made out of grapes), then it slowly became a metaphor for craving someone the way you would crave a glass of wine – or grapes. Sweet, a little bitter, but makes you feel happy. That’s how this song was born.”
Mae Muller- “Nervous, But In A Good Way”
Mae Muller’s highly anticipated debut album, Sorry I’m Late, is welcomed with open arms. She’s every bit a talented vocalist who has hits under her belt already, and with leading singles like “I Came To Dance” and “I Wrote a Song” which garnered further excitement for her entire body of work. It’s an exciting time to be a Mae Muller fan, who tailors her music specifically to how she’s feeling and her experience…making for honest and relatable songs.
You know Mae as the 2021 breakout star, with “Better Days” featuring NEIKED and Polo G which topped the charts and was a radio favorite. But this side of Mae Muller we’re seeing now is one of growth and confidence in her music and ability.
Gamuel Sori, Lovespeake- “Us”
Gamuel Sori is here with an easy listen…calming guitar sounds immediately fill your speakers as the song opens. It’s a pleasant, relaxing song about making deep connections with people. One of my favorites on the playlist this week, you won’t want to stop listening.
“It was a pleasure to work with Lovespeake for this one, I believe he brought the exactfeeling that I was thinking about. ‘Us’ is not just about love, but about the connections between people and how they can be very fragile.” says Gamuel Sori.
Raphaella- “Holla At Me”
Sampling the iconic, badass TLC’s “No Scrubs,” Raphaella spins together a bouncy house song that makes you want to go out and dance. Raphaella empowers listeners with “Holla At Me”, something you can use to uplift yourself and gain confidence as you go on.
“‘Holla At Me’ is an interpolation of one of my favourite 90s songs ‘No Scrubs’ by TLC. I started making the beat one afternoon and while I was trying to write the top line I couldn’t help but singing the chorus over the top; quickly became obsessed. I thought it could be really fun to turn it on its head and do a positive, empowered version from my point of view…” – Raphaella

Taylor Swift is helping out her pal. ET has learned that the 33-year-old singer has loaned Sophie Turner her New York City apartment amid the actress’ divorce from Joe Jonas.
Page Six, who was first to report Swift’s kind gesture, noted that Turner and Jonas’ daughters — Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1– are staying at the singer’s Tribeca pad with their mom.
The news comes after Swift, who briefly dated Jonas in 2009, and Turner were spotted hanging out together in New York City on several occasions. Amid the outings, a source told ET that the two women “have always liked and respected each other.”
“They are fans of each other and have been friends for a while,” the source said. “Sophie doesn’t care that Taylor dated Joe. It was so long ago and in the past. Taylor has a good time when she’s with Sophie and they enjoyed some fun girl time together last night.”
Turner’s updated living situation comes amid her complicated custody battle with her Jonas Brothers ex. Jonas filed for divorce from Turner earlier this month, and the Game of Thrones star responded by filing a petition in a New York court to ask for the “immediate return” of their two daughters to the United Kingdom.
Shortly thereafter, Turner and Jonas agreed to temporarily keep their kids in New York as they work out the details of their divorce.
