14 Shelter Dog Intake Photos vs Professional Photos

    [ad_1]

When a shelter pet is surrendered, getting a quality phot of them is really difficult.

To help show these pets in a better light, we bring our studio to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, with our fiends at FairyTail PetCare, to give them a second shot at getting adopted!

We call it Second Shot because we’re giving them a second photo and a second shot at adoption.

This series of Second Shot photos was sponsored by ForeverLawn of Tampa Bay.

Interested in sponsoring Second Shot, please email [email protected].

Check out the Humane Society of Tampa Bay‘s website to see who is still available for adoption and in need of a Second Shot!

Swipe left and right to see their intake photo vs their professional photo.

  • One-Eyed Tampa Shelter Dog Is Being Overlooked for Adoption

One-Eyed Tampa Shelter Dog Is Being Overlooked for Adoption

Dylan, an 8 year-old spaniel mix was surrendered to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay on March 21, 2024. He had both of his eyes at the time, but his right eye had a mass that needed to be removed.

The shelter staff decided to remove the eye and it’s healing beautifully!

Dogs like Dylan are so resilient! Even though he went through surgery to remove his eye, it hasn’t seemed to have affected him. He loves people and treats!

We met Dylan during our 2 Day In-Person Pet Photography Workshop. Aspiring Pet Photographers, from all over the country, attended to learn. Day 1 was at our studio and Day 2 was at the shelter.

Tampa Shelter Dog Looking for Family to Give Kisses To

    [ad_1]

We posted about Betsy last week, who had been at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay for 72 days and she got adopted 2 days later. Let’s try this again!

Bleu has been available for adoption at the Humane Society of Tapa Bay since March 4, 2024.

He can be a little shy at first, but once he warmed up to us after 10 minutes, his personality came out.

What’s funny about Bleu is that he has the exact same expression in his intake photo and his Second Shot. We figured it out afterwards that the two poses matched but it’s too funny not to point out. He’s showing his new potential family that he wants to give kisses!

Second Shot is our adoption program that we run with FairyTail Pet Care. We take new photos of adoptable pets, to giving them a Second Shot at a forever home!

Bleu’s Second Shot was sponsored by Pawlowski Mastrilli Law Group

You can see Bleu’s Adoption profile here. Go adopt Bleu!

  • Deaf Dog Being Overlooked at Tampa Animal Shelter

Deaf Dog Being Overlooked at Tampa Animal Shelter

Betsy, a 3 year-old shelter dog at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, is being overlooked because she’s deaf. She’s been available for adoption since January 17, 2024.

Since she can’t hear, she’s not affected by the sounds of the shelter. Glen, the shelter’s Behavior and Enrichment Manager, even uses her to acclimate some of the other dogs.

She already knows basic commands and won’t bark when the trash or delivery truck drives by!

We took her Second Shot in hopes of getting her adopted. We replace the shelter’s intake photos to give them, not only a second photo, but a Second Shot at getting adopted. We run Second Shot with the help of shelter volunteers and FairyTail Petcare.

Check out Betsy’s Adoption profile and go visit her at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Betsy’s Second Shot was sponsored by Westcott.

  • Tampa Shelter Pets Get Second Shot at a Forever Home with New Photos

Tampa Shelter Pets Get Second Shot at a Forever Home with New Photos

Our Second Shot Program at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, who we run with FairyTail Pet Care, gives shelter pets a second shot at a forever home.

We’re financially supported by companies who help us go to the shelter more and more. Instead of only 10 pets a month, we can now photograph nearly 50 pets a month.

We also use a portion of the sponsorship to advertise each pet with social media ads, to get even more eyes to see them and hopefully lead to a higher likelihood of adoption.

These Second Shot Adoption Photos are sponsored by ForeverLawn of Tampa Bay.

Please email me at [email protected] if your business would like to sponsor Second Shot.

Mom Thanks Former Street Dog for Saving Her Life – AGoldPhoto Pet Photography

    [ad_1]

Seamus, a former street dog, could sense something was wrong when his Mom Colleen, was struggling to breath in her sleep.

His “devotion and attentiveness” woke her up and she was rushed to the hospital and she ended up needing life saving surgery.

Colleen shared this with us, in her thank you note to Seamus, for Tails of Gratitude – A Collection of Thank You Notes From People To Their Pets, our Fundraising Coffee Table Book that raises $10,000 for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Since 2021, Over 150 families have participated and they have helped raise just under $30,000 for the shelter.

This year long project culminates with a launch party where we present the donation to the shelter and reveal who is on the cover of the book.

Well as you probably guessed or have already seen, Seamus is on the cover of Tails of Gratitude Volume 3, and for good reason!

The application to participate for Tails of Gratitude Volume 4 is now open! You can apply to participate and thank your pet(s) for what they have done for you!

  • 8 Shelter Dogs Get A Professional Photoshoot To Get Them Adopted

8 Shelter Dogs Get A Professional Photoshoot To Get Them Adopted

    [ad_1]

When a shelter dog comes to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, their intake photo is taken, which is a quick way to identify them. Their intake photo doesn’t always show their personality because they just arrived and they’re likely very nervous and scared.

We have been volunteering at the shelter one a month, with our friends at FairyTail Pet Care, to take new adoption photos for social media and the shelter’s website.

We have also brought on sponsors to help us go to the shelter twice a month instead of once. Our next goal is to be able to go to the shelter once a week. Sponsorships help us cover the costs associated with the shoots and our time at the shelter.

This photo session was sponsored by Elite Rewards.
