  • A Body Language Expert Saw Something Telling When Trump Put “His Palm Almost Under” Zelenskyy’s Chin

Zelenskyy’s body language, meanwhile, revealed both resistance and composure in the face of Trump’s physical assertiveness.

“We witness President Zelenskyy placing his hand on top of the President Trump’s hand during the latter part of the handshake,” Donaldson said. “Is it a cultural norm? No. When someone places their hand on top of another is during a handshake it’s a subtle way to exert dominance over the other person.”

Wood observed a similar sense of pushback, noting that Zelenskyy responded to Trump’s tendency to pull people into him in his handshakes.

“So Zelenskyy took his left arm and hand and went into what’s called a top-down position, where he’s holding Trump’s hand down as if to say, ‘No, I’m going to battle with you. You’re not going to pull me in and think you’ve won,’” Wood said. “He keeps holding it, and Trump continues to tug, pulling them both close to his chest. You can see Zelenskyy pulled slightly off balance, but he maintains that top-down grip. It’s a continued battle.”

  • “Filled With Grief”: Lupita Nyong’o Breaks Down Watching Chadwick Boseman Scene

“Filled With Grief”: Lupita Nyong’o Breaks Down Watching Chadwick Boseman Scene

The Oscar winner participated Monday at a BFI London Film Festival event where the conversation turned to Black Panther (2018). After watching herself on-screen opposite Boseman in a clip played for the crowd, she began to cry and detailed her grief.

“I have to admit, I haven’t seen the film since Chadwick died, so I’m having a moment,” Nyong’o said onstage, per the Hollywood Reporter. “The grief is just the love, with no place to put it, right … I don’t run away from the tears or the grief, you know? You just live with it.”

“That experience will never be separate from the love that was formed,” she continued.

  • John Oliver Pinpointed A “Disqualifying” Reason He Doesn’t Want JD Vance As VP

John Oliver Pinpointed A “Disqualifying” Reason He Doesn’t Want JD Vance As VP

Oliver pointed to special counsel Jack Smith’s 165-page brief describing the “ridiculous steps” Donald Trump took to avoid leaving office in 2020 before turning to the GOP nominee’s vice presidential pick.

“If he loses next month, there is every reason to believe Trump will dispute the results again, and Vance has made it clear he’s got no problem with that, and that alone should be disqualifying,” Oliver argued.

“For all the talk this week about his civility at the debate, let’s not forget deep down he’s the same colossal dipshit who spews right-wing hate with distressing ease and continues to defend the big lie that the last election was stolen.”

Oliver, earlier in the program, tossed to clips of several commentators who described the tone of the debate as “polite” and “refreshing.”

“Why do manners matter here? The debate included discussions on how to carry out mass deportations and whether women should have control over their own bodies. Etiquette is kind of besides the point,” Oliver said.

“It’s like reading a ransom note and going. This cursive is just so lovely. Look at the capital Y in ‘You have 24 hours before he dies.’ There are still some people who were raised right.”

He cited Vance spewing “bigoted bullshit” at an event hosted by far-right Christian nationalist Lance Wallnau and offering “revisionist history” on Trump toward the end of the debate.

  • DNC Showrunners Finally Explained What Went Down With That “Crazy” Beyoncé Rumor

DNC Showrunners Finally Explained What Went Down With That “Crazy” Beyoncé Rumor

The DNC outperformed the RNC — which featured fading stars like Kid Rock and Hulk Hogan — in terms of viewers, earning nearly 3 million more viewers on average.

While he presumably wouldn’t have minded snagging Beyoncé, Kirshner says the premise begged a deeper question.

“But come on, we have the biggest star, the Democratic nominee for president. Why would we overshadow that?” he told THR.

  • “It Was Completely Unexpected”: Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Pregnant

“It Was Completely Unexpected”: Gypsy Rose Blanchard Is Pregnant

Blanchard rose to fame after she was found guilty in 2016 of aiding her ex-boyfriend in killing her mother. Blanchard’s mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, was believed to have Munchausen syndrome by proxy, also known as factitious disorder imposed on another, is a psychological disorder in which a parent or caregiver makes up or causes an illness or injury to their child.

Right before the end of 2023, Blanchard was released from prison and her post-prison life has been documented on a Lifetime reality series. While Blanchard was in prison, she married Ryan Anderson, but shortly after she was released, they broke up and she got back together with Urker, who she was briefly engaged to while in prison.

She said she and Urker both grew up in broken homes — she was estranged from her father most of her life, and Urker’s parents divorced, but they agreed that they don’t want their child to be in that kind of situation.

“It doesn’t matter what we go through, him and I,” Blanchard said about her and Ken. “Whatever we face, we’ll face it together because we have a baby now. We have something that’s bigger than either one of us, so whatever comes our way, whatever arguments we have, whatever drama gets thrown at us on social media, we’re going to stick together. We’re not breaking because we are a family now.”

  • Paul McCartney Reacts To Beyoncé Covering “Blackbird” And Recalls Its Civil Rights Message

Paul McCartney Reacts To Beyoncé Covering “Blackbird” And Recalls Its Civil Rights Message

Paul McCartney couldn’t be happier that Beyoncé covered one of his most treasured hits.

The founding Beatles member posted a heartfelt tribute Thursday after Beyoncé included a dulcet cover of “Blackbird” in her latest album, “Cowboy Carter.” McCartney, who wrote the 1968 song in an era of high racial tensions, was glad its message is still being received.

“I am so happy with [Beyoncé’s] version of my song ‘Blackbird,’” the 81-year-old wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him with the singer. “I think she does a magnificent version of it and it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired me to write the song in the first place.”

McCartney wrote the song in a decade that included the assassinations of several civil rights leaders, but was originally inspired by the Little Rock Nine, a group of Black students in Arkansas who were among the first to help desegregate schools in the U.S.

“When I saw the footage on the television in the early 60s of the black girls being turned away from school, I found it shocking and I can’t believe that still in these days there are places where this kind of thing is happening right now,” McCartney wrote Thursday.

The beloved Briton added that Beyoncé thanked him for “letting her” cover the song during a FaceTime chat in which he claimed “the pleasure was all mine.” McCartney has thus joined several other notable names in praising Beyoncé over the past week for her album.

The Grammy queen hasn’t been welcomed by everyone in the country music community, however. Beyoncé recalled pushback when she “first entered this genre” in a recent Instagram post, which many believe was a reference to her performance with the Dixie Chicks.
