  • Pickup Truck Sparks Wildfire In Sweet Home – KXL

    [ad_1]

3:30PM Update – Linn County Sheriff Michelle Duncan is removing the Level 1 evacuation status for the area near Rice Road in Sweet Home.

SWEET HOME, Ore. – A fast-moving wildfire ignited by a pickup truck operating in tall, dry grass burned 25 acres near the Holley area west of Sweet Home on Monday afternoon, prompting evacuations and a major multi-agency firefighting response.

Sweet Home Fire District and the Oregon Department of Forestry’s South Cascade District responded to the blaze just after 4 p.m. on Rice Road. The fire spread quickly through grass, brush, and timber, reportedly moving toward homes and threatening structures.

The incident commander immediately called for a second alarm, and later a third, bringing in resources from Brownsville, Halsey, and Lebanon Fire. Additional coverage was provided by Scio and Albany fire crews. A Pacific Power team shut down power lines in the area as a precaution.

A Type 1 helicopter was deployed for aerial support, and a bulldozer was brought in to assist with constructing containment lines. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office, with help from Sweet Home Police, conducted evacuations.

Level 3 evacuation orders were issued for Rice Road and Crescent Hill Road but were downgraded to Level 1 by 5:24 p.m. after crews successfully halted the fire’s forward progress. As of Tuesday morning, Level 1 evacuations remain in effect while crews continue mop-up operations.

The fire destroyed one RV, damaged the siding of a pumphouse, and caused minor heat damage to several structures. No injuries or casualties were reported.

Authorities confirmed the fire was sparked underneath a pickup truck that was operating in dry grass. The vehicle itself was not damaged, but the fire quickly spread to surrounding vegetation and the nearby RV.

Crews from Scio and Albany are assisting with mop-up efforts. The fire is currently 60% contained, with full containment expected by the end of the day. All evacuation orders will be lifted once containment is complete.

In total, ODF South Cascade deployed six engines, one water tender, one dozer, and four overhead team members, totaling 18 personnel. Structural fire response included nine engines, three water tenders, and five overhead personnel, for a total of 32 firefighters on scene.

  • Unpacking the Eventful Ending of ‘Sweet Home’ Season 3

Unpacking the Eventful Ending of ‘Sweet Home’ Season 3

    [ad_1]

Sweet Home season three had a bittersweet ending. In the past few seasons, some characters have transformed into neohumans, and many more have perished in the name of humanity.

Every sacrifice up to the last episode had been worth it because neohumans and regular survivors had found a way to coexist in peace. Although things will never be the same, society can at least start rebuilding itself. Sweet Home won’t be returning for another season, but its last episode left no stone unturned.

    The Final Stage of Monsterization

The third season of Sweet Home was somewhat confusing to follow because neohumans were introduced later in the drama compared to the webtoon. There is still a big difference between neohumans and special infectees. Neohumans are essentially the final stage of human evolution.

As seen with Eun-hyeok (Lee Do-hyun), neohumans are strong, hyper-intelligent, and immortal. They’re basically Twilight vampires that don’t sparkle under the sun. This means that those who’ve become monsters might hopefully evolve into neohumans one day.

    So Many Heartbreaking Deaths

    There are spoilers up ahead!

Sang-won’s daughter, who could turn people into monsters, was killed by Eun-hyeok (Lee Do-hyun). Yi-su (Kim Si-ah) had been controlled by Sang-won and was forced to turn monsters against Hyun-su (Song Kang) and Eun-hyeok. There was no other choice but to eliminate Yi-su so that the pair could go after Sang-won.

Sang-wook (Lee Jin-uk) has been a fan favorite character, and his last act has broken many hearts. Hyun-su (Song Kang) and Eun-hyeok (Lee Do-hyun) have been fighting to put a stop to Sang-won. But after his last body was burned by Hyun-su, Sang-won escaped and transferred himself into Sang-wook’s body.

In a shocking turn of events, it turns out that Sang-wook’s body still had some consciousness. Sang-wook took control of his body and crawled into the fire. It was necessary, but that doesn’t make the event less painful to watch.

    What Happened to Eun-yu?

Eun-yu (Go Min-si) became a neohuman. All she’s ever wanted was to be reunited with her brother, Eun-hyeok. But after becoming a neohuman himself, Eun-hyeok has lost his ability to feel emotions. There have been many tragedies in Sweet Home, but Eun-yu and Eun-hyeok were spared.

The two reunited with Hyun-su on top of the Green Home, and Eun-hyeok was shown smiling in the end.

  • We’re Reaching Endgame in ‘Sweet Home’ Season 3

We’re Reaching Endgame in ‘Sweet Home’ Season 3

    [ad_1]

It’s official: Sweet Home has been renewed for a third season, and Netflix is currently working on it. This isn’t surprising, but we’re all still reeling from the tragic events that went down in the last episodes of the second season.

Ui-myeong has been possessed by Sang-won, who was one of the first people to turn into monsters. Yi-kyung was transformed into a monster by Ah-yi, her daughter. Oh, and Eun-hyuk from season one, who we thought was dead? He survived, showed up in the last episode, and is clearly a monster now.

Sweet Home 3 is expected to come out on Netflix in summer 2024, on July 19, 2024.

    Sweet Home season 3 teaser

Several characters are making a comeback in the coming season, including Cha Hyun-su, who managed to survive against all odds. We can expect another season with Song Kang on screen, the actor who portrays Cha Hyun-su. Returning with him is Go Min-si, who plays the role of Lee Eun-yu.

Lee Jin-uk, who plays Pyeong Sang-wook, is also likely to return. Ui-myeong has possessed his body to enact his evil plans in the third season. Lee Do-hyun is definitely going to be back as Lee Yun-hyeok, since he was revealed to be alive in the last moments of the second season.

There are many plot points we can pick up from the last season. Eun-hyuk’s revival could mean a new villain if the special type of monster he’s become poses a threat. It would be tragic, but his character wouldn’t reemerge for nothing. Ah-yi, who turned her mother into a monster, is also a candidate for the spotlight in the third season.

Hyun-su himself is still grappling with the monster and person within him. Sweet Home season 3 will hopefully bring a clean conclusion to the conflicts and mysteries surrounding several characters.
