A suspected serial rapist wanted in connection with the rape of two women in Massachusetts in 1989 was arrested in Los Angeles on Thursday following a lengthy police chase.
Officers located the suspect, Stephen Paul Gale, 71, who was driving a dark SUV, shortly after 4 p.m. in the Wilmington area and began their pursuit, according to U.S. Marshals.
Gale led police onto the 110 and 405 freeways, eventually exiting the freeway onto surface streets on L.A.’s Westside while driving at a moderate speed, KTLA5-TV and ABC7-TV reported.
The hour and a half pursuit came to an end on Medical Plaza Drive in Westwood near Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, said Kevin Terzes, spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police surrounded the driver’s vehicle with guns drawn, KTLA5 reported. The driver surrendered and was taken into custody.
His arrest was the result of a decades-long nationwide manhunt for Gale, who was charged with aggravated rape and kidnapping of two women in Massachusetts in 1989.
He was recently identified through genetic genealogy as a suspect in a series of rapes in Boston from 1989-90, authorities said.
At the time of the incidents, Gale’s identity was unknown and he was referred to simply as the “Boston Strip Mall Rapist.”
Gale had been on the run for years before he was finally identified as the suspect in the 1989 case, according to federal authorities. He had last been seen in public in 2008.
In May, the U.S. Marshals Office released a wanted announcement for Gale in connection with the 1989 case and a reward for his capture of up to $5,000. In addition, the announcement said Gale was also wanted for questioning in connection with the series of rapes in the greater Boston area.
San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies shot and fatally wounded a man who fired at them outside a Rancho Cucamonga shopping center, authorities said.
Deputies were called to the shopping center at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of a man armed with a gun, according to authorities.
Deputies found and then exchanged gunfire with the suspect outside a Walgreens near the intersection of Carnelian and 19th streets, a spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department told KABC.
It’s unclear if the suspect was wounded during that exchange, but he then ran into a nearby Sprouts Farmers Market, authorities said.
In a statement, the Sheriff’s Department said deputies shot the man, but did not provide any further details as to where and when he was struck, or whether the suspect fired any shots into or from inside the market.
Video footage from OnScene.TV showed a shattered glass door at the Sprouts and a sheriff’s deputy being taken from the scene in the back of an ambulance. It was not immediately clear how the deputy was injured.
The suspect, who has not yet been publicly identified, was taken by ambulance to a hospital, but later died from his injuries, the sheriff’s department told KABC.
A man was in critical condition after allegedly fatally shooting a woman in Lancaster early Sunday, then attempting suicide, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The pair were described only as male and female Hispanic adults. The man confronted the woman in another man’s Lancaster home, according to a statement released Sunday by the Sheriff’s Department. The suspect shot one round into the home; no one was injured.
The suspect and the woman, “who are believed to be an estranged couple,” according to the department’s statement, left the home together in the woman’s vehicle. They got into an argument and stopped the vehicle at East Avenue H and Challenger Way in Lancaster.
About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, they stepped out of the vehicle as they continued arguing. The suspect shot and killed the woman before driving away in her vehicle, leaving her body behind, the statement said.
At 2:09 a.m., the suspect drove to Palmdale, where he shot himself inside the victim’s vehicle outside the home of a member of her family, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect was treated for an apparent gunshot wound at a nearby hospital. He was listed in critical condition, a sheriff’s spokesperson said Sunday evening. The spokesperson said no additional information about the incident was being released yet, including the identities of the suspect and the victim.
The Sheriff’s Department statement said homicide investigators continued to investigate the incident.
The department urged anyone with information about the incident to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Police in Arlington, Virginia, said they are looking to talk to occupants of a Jeep Cherokee who were victims of a botched carjacking attempt earlier this month where the suspect was shot by police.
On July 5, investigators say that a Metro Transit police officer shot 30-year-old Mark Anthony Johnson-Crestwell after he attempted to carjack two different vehicles, including the Jeep, in Rosslyn.
Arlington County police say they want to talk to the owners of a dark colored Jeep Cherokee that may have Maryland license plates, according to a news release.
Police said, before being caught, Johnson-Crestwell entered the occupied Jeep “at Fort Myer Drive and 19th Street N. and the vehicle continued to drive before the suspect exited.”
At this time, a Metro Transit officer attempted to stop Johnson-Crestwell, pepper spraying him as he began to run away, police said.
After a foot chase, Johnson-Crestwell then hopped into an unoccupied trash truck located around the intersection of 19th Street N. and N. Kent Street. Police said a Metro Transit officer commanded him to exit the trash truck, but he refused. It was at that time the officer shot the suspect, according to police.
Johnson-Crestwell was hospitalized in stable condition.

Sheriff’s deputies shot a fleeing carjacking suspect after a chase Wednesday afternoon in Pico-Union, according to officials and footage of the scene.
Just before 2:30 p.m., deputies from the East L.A. Station started to pursue a suspect in a gray Toyota Camry, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The chase ended about 20 minutes later at Vermont Avenue and Venice Boulevard, where video showed the Toyota crashing into several cars and a light pole.
The front tires began smoking as the driver apparently tried to accelerate backward into the patrol cruiser that was boxing the suspect in from behind. The driver, still seeming to accelerate, leaned out the window and extended an open hand.
Seconds later, at 2:51 p.m., an unknown number of deputies opened fire, shooting into the rear windshield of the Toyota. Several rounds pierced all the way through the car, leaving five holes in the front windshield along with what appeared to be blood splatter.
After the gunfire ended, deputies using a bulletproof shield approached the vehicle and pulled someone from the passenger side of the vehicle.
Authorities said the suspect was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man was fatally stabbed Tuesday after exiting a Metro bus in South Los Angeles, police said, the latest incident in a string of violence that has plagued L.A. County’s public transit system.
Officials responded to the stabbing at the Slauson J Line Park & Ride on Slauson Avenue near the 110 Freeway at 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to Officer Kevin Terzes, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson.
The victim and his suspected assailant got off the Metro bus and later got into an argument, Terzes said, at which point the suspect pulled out a weapon and stabbed the victim.
The Los Angeles Fire Department rushed the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released. The LAPD did not provide a detailed description of the suspect.
Metro spokesperson Dave Sotero extended condolences to the dead man’s friends and family, while underscoring the agency’s ongoing efforts to help increase safety.
“Violence in the communities we serve spilling over onto our public transit systems continues to be an issue in Greater Los Angeles,” Sotero said. “We share the concerns of Metro employees and riders about the recent increase in severity of crime on the Metro system.”
However, Sotero noted that overall crime in April on Metro was down by 44% compared with a year prior. Violent crime, though, was up slightly compared to March.
“Our employees deserve a safe workplace and our customers deserve a safe ride, so nothing we are working on is more important than addressing public safety on our Metro system,” he said in a statement.
The agency has made several recent changes in attempts to curb violence, including an increase in public safety personnel on buses and trains, which Sotero said amounted to a “20% surge” of Metro transit security officers and unarmed “ambassadors.”
The Metro board on Thursday is scheduled to consider if the agency will resurrect its own police force, a proposal that came about after a rise in drug overdoses and more severe violence on the transit system.
Metro also recently implemented a pilot program that requires riders to tap their fare cards in order to leave a train station in hopes of increasing order and a sense of security.

An 18-year-old accused of killing a Fort Worth man at random while traveling through Texas also shot at three other people in an industrial area south of DFW Airport, police allege in an arrest warrant affidavit.
Lee Douglas, a 36-year-old electrician who worked at Refresco Beverages at 15200 Trinity Blvd. in far east Fort Worth, was shot first in the back then again in the face after he fell to the ground.
A witness who saw Douglas get shot told police that the suspect, Decan Medeiros, unsuccessfully tried to enter the Refresco Beverages building before he began shooting early on the morning of May 30, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by the Star-Telegram.
One of Douglas’ coworkers told police he saw Medeiros stand over Douglas and aim a black pistol at his head after he had shot him in the back, according to the affidavit. The witness turned to yell for other employees who were outside on break to get inside the building and then heard another gunshot.
Medeiros allegedly shot two more rounds at other employees of Refresco Beverages before crossing the street and entering an Oncor Electric warehouse, according to the affidavit.
Four witnesses, including an off-duty game warden officer who was working as a security guard, gave consistent descriptions of Medeiros.
The security guard heard the first four gunshots and saw Medeiros trying to escape by cutting through the Oncor property, according to the affidavit. The guard asked the suspect what he was doing, and Medeiros replied he was “shooting squirrels,” the affidavit states.
The guard pulled his gun and ordered Medeiros to put his hands up, but the suspect ran away and into the warehouse, he told police.
Inside the Oncor warehouse, Medeiros shot three times at an employee operating a forklift, who jumped off the forklift and ducked for cover, the warrant alleges.
Police searched one of three bags that Medeiros was carrying with him during the shooting, the affidavit states. In the bag, they found a dark gray notebook filled with journal entries. It had the words “take notes” written on the front cover, with “take” written by hand and “notes” printed by design. The words “The Book of Taurus” were handwritten on the back cover.
Upon arresting Medeiros about 1,500 feet east of the Oncor warehouse, police said, they found two boxes of ammunition that matched the type of bullets used in the shooting.
Medeiros is in custody at the Lon Evans Corrections Center, part of the Tarrant County Jail system, with bond set at $615,000. He faces charges of murder and aggravated assault.
His father, Ricky Medeiros, told the Star-Telegram that the teen was on a layover after flying into DFW Airport on his way home to Washington state and that he didn’t know anyone in Texas.
Douglas, a father of five, died June 11 at John Peter Smith Hospital.

“General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor was fatally shot early Saturday when he came upon three men trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car, according to a law enforcement source with knowledge of the case.
The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. when the owner of a vehicle encountered three people near Pico Boulevard and Hope Street attempting to steal the car part, said Officer Jader Chaves, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department. The man was shot by one of the thieves before all three fled in a vehicle, said Chaves. The officer did not identify the victim but said he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A source on Sunday confirmed to The Times that the victim was Wactor, who played Brando Corbin on “General Hospital” from 2020 to 2022. He also had roles on other shows, including “Westworld,” “Criminal Minds” and “Station 19.”
Wactor, who had been working as a bartender in downtown L.A. on Saturday evening, was walking a co-worker to her car after their shift, Wactor’s brother, Grant Wactor, told The Times on Sunday. On the way, he noticed a group of men crowded around his car, and he confronted them because he thought he was being towed.
That was when he was shot.
The thieves were after Wactor’s catalytic converter, police said. The exhaust emission control device is typically found in the undercarriage of a vehicle and contains precious metals including rhodium, palladium and platinum. Thieves can make hundreds of dollars selling them to auto parts suppliers or scrapyards, where they can be melted down and the valuable metals extracted.
“My mother is tough as nails, but she’s broken down to the bone,” said Grant Wactor, Johnny’s younger brother. “We have to get him back to Charleston [S.C.]. It’s just a shame. It seems like it was just the wrong place, wrong time.”
Wactor, 37, left “General Hospital” in 2022 when his popular character was written out of the show. At the time, he told Soap Opera Digest he enjoyed the show’s large and loyal fan base.
“It was all new to me, and it was a blessing,” he said. “It made it fun to go to work and then be excited about seeing people react to the storylines you were in. That they actually cared was really cool.”
Former colleagues took to social media to mourn Wactor’s death on Sunday.
“Johnny Wactor was a beautiful, beautiful soul,” former “General Hospital” actor Parry Shen said on X. “We all were cheated of many years with him.”
Jon Lindstrom, a longtime cast member on the ABC soap, posted: “I am literally sick to my stomach at this news.” He called Wactor “one of those rare young men in this business who was kind, unassuming, humble.”
Grant Wactor said his brother was drawn to acting from an early age. Growing up in Sommerville, S.C., Johnny participated in every play he could in his elementary and middle schools. Not long after graduating from the College of Charleston in 2009, he packed up his Honda Civic and made the cross-country drive to Los Angeles to begin his acting career.
“I can’t emphasize how hard of a worker he was,” Grant Wactor said. “He would flip the Scrabble board at home because he was so competitive. But he was also one of the most charismatic people I knew. Because when he talked or listened, you could tell it was genuine.”
Johnny Wactor had recently been exploring opportunities in screenwriting while working temporarily as a bartender.
“He lived life his way,” Grant Wactor said. “He did exactly what he wanted, even to his last day. That’s who he was day in, day out. He walked the walk.”

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Troy Police responded to Fourth Street near Madison Street after receiving reports of a shooting. The police say that there were two victims struck by gunfire.

A Georgia man was arrested in connection with the 23-year cold case murder of UGA law student Tara Louise Baker, state investigators say.

After 23 years, a suspect has been arrested in the cold case death of a University of Georgia law student, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Edrick Lamont Faust, 48, of Athens, is charged with murder and other offenses following a decades-long investigation into the death of Tara Louise Baker, the agency said in a May 9 news release. She was 23 at the time.
“Tara Louise Baker was a hardworking student with a bright future ahead of her,”GBI Director Chris Hosey said in the release. “Tara’s life was stolen from her in a horrific act of violence.”
Faust’s arrest comes more than two decades after Baker, a first-year law student at UGA, was found dead in her burning apartment in Athens, according to investigators. Crews responded to the fire on Jan. 19, 2001, and determined it was intentionally set.
State investigators, with help from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department and other agencies, spent more than 20 years examining the circumstances surrounding Baker’s death.
Authorities didn’t disclose how or if Faust and Baker knew each other. It’s also unclear what led to Faust’s arrest.

Murder
Felony murder (two counts)
Aggravated assault
Concealing the death of another person
Arson
Possession of a knife during commission of a felony
Tampering with evidence
Aggravated sodomy
“While this arrest does not bring her back to us, I pray that it helps bring closure to the Baker family as they continue their healing journey,” Hosey said.
Authorities said they plan to hold a news conference in the coming days.

Investigators have identified a suspect in the killing of a teen babysitter nearly five decades ago, Colorado police say.

Nearly five decades after a teen babysitter was found stabbed to death, there is a suspect in her killing, Colorado police say.
DNA from a bloodstain on 14-year-old Maria Loraine Honzell’s blue jumpsuit helped investigators identify William Charles Kernan Jr., who died in 2010, as a suspect in her 1977 killing, the Colorado Springs Police Department said in a May 8 news release.
“The family and friends of Maria Honzell have waited over 47 years to get justice for Maria,” police said.
The evening of Feb. 7, 1977, Maria was babysitting for a neighbor in her apartment complex, police said.
When the mother arrived home shortly before 11:30 p.m., police said she found Maria dead in the primary bedroom.
The children, ages 6 and 8, were not harmed and were “sleeping in bed” when their mother came home, police said.
Officers arrived shortly after to find Maria dead “with multiple stab wounds to the chest and neck area,” according to police.
The county coroner ruled Maria’s death a homicide, police said.
Despite thorough investigation, which included reports, evidence and interviews, police said the case went cold.
With the advancement in DNA technology, police said they submitted several pieces of evidence to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for analysis, and a man’s DNA profile was created with a bloodstain from Maria’s clothing.
The profile, however, didn’t match any profiles in databases, including those in the Combined DNA Index System.
Then, in 2019, police said investigators turned their efforts to genetic genealogy.
Genetic genealogy uses DNA testing coupled with “traditional genealogical methods” to create “family history profiles,” according to the Library of Congress. With genealogical DNA testing, researchers can determine if and how people are biologically related.
“For forensic investigations, (genetic genealogy) is used to generate highly informative leads as to the possible identity of an unknown victim or offender,” police said.
After submitting blood from Maria’s blue jumpsuit to Parabon NanoLabs, a Virginia-based genetic genealogy company, police said the organization created a “genetic data profile” for the unknown man.
The profile was then uploaded to public databases in hopes of finding someone who may share the man’s DNA, police said.
“Extensive research” led investigators to Kernan, police said.
Because Kernan was cremated and has no living relatives, police said they were unable to use DNA to confirm he was the man from Maria’s case.
Police, nonetheless, said they confirmed Kernan was “a student at a local college and an acquaintance of the woman Maria Honzell had been babysitting for on the night of her murder.”
Investigation also showed he had been at the apartment complex previously, according to police.
Detectives asked the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office to review the case using the genetic genealogy results that pointed to Kernan as a suspect, police said.
“After the review was completed, the District Attorney’s Office is confident the person responsible for the murder of Maria Honzell is William C. Kernan, Jr.,” police said.

It is shaping up to be perhaps the biggest case in the history of the UCLA Police Department: how to identify dozens of people who attacked a pro-Palestinian camp at the center of campus last week.
UCLA detectives are now scanning hundreds of images in an attempt to identify the attackers. They intend to use technology that captures facial images and compares them to other photos on the internet and social media to put names to faces, according to law enforcement sources.
The same technology has allowed police to identify suspects in smash-and-grab retail burglaries. It also was the heart of the Jan. 6 investigation, in which videos of those storming the U.S. Capitol helped the FBI identify many of the assailants and led federal prosecutors to charge more than 1,300 people. In those cases, investigators often were able to find social media images of the assailant wearing the same clothing as during the attack.
“Technology has made the entire community into the eyes of law enforcement,” said retired Los Angeles police Capt. Paul Vernon, who led an effort after a mini-riot following the Lakers’ NBA championship victory in 2010 that resulted in dozens of arrests based on videos, social media posts and security footage. “Photo recognition has gotten a lot easier.”
Vernon said an investigator also could gather cellphone data from the immediate area to prove an individual was there at the time of the incident. In some cases, assailants may have posted to their social media accounts, essentially bragging about their actions. Officers wearing body cameras may have also captured some of the behavior, he said.
The attackers likely came in vehicles, so UCLA police will be examining data from license plate readers for movements near campus on May 1. Security cameras on streets neighboring the campus where they likely parked could yield more clues.
On Monday night, Block outlined actions the school is taking in the aftermath of last week’s violence. University police will work with the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office to identify and prosecute the assailants “to the fullest extent of the law,” he said. The university “also connected with the FBI about possible assistance,” Block said in a statement.
Despite the technology, the probe faces hurdles. Some of the attackers wore masks, making it harder to identify them. In those instances, detectives will look for a moment before or after the attack when the perpetrators’ faces were revealed, an official who was not authorized to discuss the investigation told The Times.
There is also deep anger among some protesters in the camp because it took so long for police to stop the attack. That distrust could take a toll. Many of the students who were injured, some of whom were hospitalized with their wounds, have gone to groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations for Southern California but haven’t spoken with campus police.
UCLA is a small police department, so it is reaching out to other agencies and private entities to access the technology needed in the investigation, law enforcement sources said. But so far, UCLA hasn’t made a public appeal seeking information on specific suspects.
In the wake of the Jan. 6 attack, the FBI made arrests based on information from relatives, work colleagues, teammates, former friends and ex-significant others after the FBI released photos of suspects. An army of web sleuths and politically knowledgeable social media watchers known as “sedition hunters” also dedicated themselves to identifying the mob and turning their names over to the FBI.
Images from the UCLA attack are springing up on Instagram. In one case, a man can be seen using a plank to hit a pro-Palestinian protester and then punching and kicking others. Dressed in a black sweatshirt, white sweatpants and a black cap, his bearded face is not hidden. Police can use that image to track him down or ask for help identifying him.
“Holding the instigators of this attack accountable and enhancing our campus safety operations are both critical,” Block said. “Our community members can only learn, work and thrive in an environment where they feel secure.”
Jarmel Johnson, 33, was arrested Friday and is charged with murder in connection to a Fort Worth robbery or carjacking from Dec. 23, 2023.

According to a Fort Worth police report, authorities were dispatched to the 150 block of southbound East Loop 820 on Dec. 23 in response to a robbery or carjacking.
Johnson was arrested on Dec. 29 on an aggravated robbery charge.
The victim, DeBerger, died on Jan. 15 due to complications from blunt force injuries, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. The manner of his death was ruled a homicide.
Johnson was indicted March 20 on a robbery charge. He “intentionally or knowingly, while in the course of committing theft of property and with intent to obtain or maintain control of said property, cause bodily injury to Chase DeBerger by striking him with his hand, or by kicking him with his feet,” according to the indictment.
The indictment also mentions a habitual offender notice. According to court records, Johnson has a criminal history dating back to 2007, including several charges of robbery, aggravated robbery, theft, and burglary of habitation.

A 17-year-old male brought a 38-revolver and shot a student at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas on Friday, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by media outlets.
Jakerian Rhodeswing, 17, is being charged, as an adult, with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful carrying of a weapon in a prohibited place, according to jail records.
After the student was shot in the leg, a teacher told Rhodes to leave the classroom and the building “to prevent further harm to the victim and others,” according to an arrest warrant obtained by KTVT.
The teacher in the classroom “helped us avoid additional tragedy,” Dallas ISD Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde said at a news conference Friday afternoon

A man suspected of spraying gunfire from atop a Marina del Rey apartment complex over the weekend was identified Monday by authorities.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as 41-year-old Victoryloc Nguyen, who remains jailed in lieu of $2-million bail.
No one was injured in the Saturday night shooting in the 4100 block of Via Marina, according to a written statement from the Sheriff’s Department.
The incident began at 10:15 p.m. when deputies from the Marina del Rey sheriff’s station responded to reports of gunshots from inside the apartment complex.
Later, a sheriff’s helicopter “observed a male suspect on the roof of the location, firing rounds from a rifle,” the statement read.
The shooting prompted deputies from other nearby stations to respond to the location, and armored SWAT-style vehicles were dispatched.
Videos posted on social media show a man shooting from the balcony of an apartment who can be heard saying: “I can shoot a car right now and no one would give a s—.” In other videos, bystanders shelter at home or take cover while gunfire can be heard in the background.
Witnesses told KTLA that as many as 100 rounds were fired from the building. Jeff Rubin, who was hiding with his wife in their apartment’s bathroom, said there were at least 20 minutes of silence.
“Then another round of gunshots and that went on for three hours,” he told the news station.

An aggravated robbery suspect who fled from officers in Dallas is in a standoff with Colleyville police Friday and nearby residents are being asked to shelter in place, according to authorities.
At around 11 a.m., residents in the 3700 block of Brentwood Drive were told to stay inside their homes as officers were assisting authorities pursuing the suspect, Colleyville police said in a post on X.
The suspect, who was armed, fled from his vehicle and was traveling on foot, according to police.
Officers contained the suspect in a perimeter and are actively negotiating with him, police said in an update at 12:30 p.m., but residents in the area are still being advised to stay inside and lock their doors.

Sansom Park police say a 16-year-old suspect arrested in the shooting death of Logan Perkins, 24, robbed the victim of a gun and marijuana from his apartment.
Logan Perkins, 24, was found shot and unresponsive on Feb. 29 at his apartment in the 3100 block of La Junta Street, according to police. Officers took a 16-year-old into custody Friday in connection to Perkins’ homicide.
According to surveillance video obtained by police, a young man wearing a white hoodie — later identified by police as the suspect — was seen on Feb. 28 physically fighting with an unidentified woman near the apartment complex where Perkins was found.
About a minute later, Perkins was seen arriving at his apartment, and two people — including the teen wearing a white hoodie — later approached the same building, according to the warrant.
Surveillance video further showed that the suspect and Perkins were speaking outside his apartment before they both entered the home. Minutes later, the suspect is seen fleeing from the apartment and a moan is heard from Perkins’ home, the warrant says.
Two other people were also seen approaching the apartment shortly after Perkins was shot, according to police.
The 911 caller is the last person seen on the video arriving at the apartment on Feb. 29, the same time he reported to police that he found Perkins unresponsive.
The caller told police that the suspect told him that he killed Perkins, the warrant states.
The suspect also told the caller that he shot the victim three or four times, took a handgun from Perkins, and took marijuana from his apartment, according to the warrant.
The cause of Perkins’ death was multiple gunshot wounds, and the death was ruled a homicide by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Due to his age, no other information will be released regarding the suspect’s identity.

An ordeal at a Fullerton Wells Fargo bank on Tuesday evening began with a possible robbery attempt in which a man threatened witnesses with an “explosive device” and ended when police shot the individual outside the bank’s doors, according to law enforcement officials.
In a statement on social media, the Fullerton Police Department said officers responded to reports of a possible bank robbery in the 100 block of West Bastanchury Road around 5:09 p.m. and began evacuating employees.
The Orange County sheriff’s bomb squad also responded to the scene.
“While inside the bank, witnesses stated the suspect produced what appeared to be an explosive device. Upon exiting the bank, an officer involved shooting occurred,” the department wrote.
Police spokesperson Kristy Wells declined to provide additional details on the incident, citing an ongoing investigation.
It is unclear whether the suspect was killed, though CBS News reported the unidentified suspect died at the scene.
KTLA reported that the suspect was shot after exiting the bank, and that officers then sent in a robot and drone to investigate items surrounding the unresponsive suspect.
No employees or officers were injured, the Police Department said.
