5 Of Our Favorite Stray Kids Felix’s Rap Verses

    [ad_1]

It is no secret that Stray KidsFelix has an irreplaceable voice that’s recognizable everywhere. But it is not only his iconic deep voice that makes his rap verses so impactful and unforgettable. Felix‘s flow and rapping skills have a way of making every one of his parts special and unique. Felix shines every time he has a rap verse, and here are some of our absolute favorites!

An obvious one, yes, but an iconic one too that simply couldn’t be missed from the list. The chokehold ‘God’s Menu’ had on everyone in 2020 is historic, and so was Felix‘s verse. His delivery made the line so impactful and even more addictive. There are no words to explain the impact of this verse. And we have to give a special shout-out to Felix’s verse in Stray Kids‘ mashup of ‘God’s Menu’ with BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU-DDU-DU.’ Everything about Felix and ‘God’s Menu’ is historic.

    ‘Placebo / Mixtape #1’ (I am NOT, 2018)

Felix’s verse in ‘Placebo’ has to be one of our favorites, and it’s also arguably one of his most underrated. So we’re here to give it the praise it rightfully deserves! Felix‘s rap in the second verse adds something very special and comforting to the song. This verse feels so natural for Felix that it is so satisfying to hear it every time. The rhythm, his flow and the way the words just roll out of his tongue make his verse one of our favorite moments in ‘Placebo.’ It feels personal and vulnerable yet never fails to brighten our day. That’s Felix for you!

    ‘WHY?’ (2024)

‘WHY?’ was released as an OST in early 2024, and it genuinely had no business going as hard as it did. This song is perfection. And despite being perfect in every aspect, Felix‘s part is simply mindblowing. This verse is full of Felix‘s unique charisma and personality as he somehow transposes it onto his rapping. ‘WHY?’ is an incredibly addictive song, but Felix’s part is by far the most infectious!

    ‘UNFAIR’ (2024)

We’ll be honest for a second: ‘UNFAIR’ is what inspired this entire list. Felix’s solo stage at the dominATE Tour changed the chemistry of our brains. His first solo song, ‘Deep End,’ was already heartbreaking, but ‘UNFAIR’ low-key takes it to another level. Not only are the lyrics gorgeous while the song showcases his vocals, but the rap verses are hands-down the best we’ve heard from Felix. The flow, the emotion behind the lyric, the tone, everything about this is perfection. Again, we see Felix’s vulnerability mixed in with his charisma and unique aura. It shows how far Felix has come as a songwriter. We just need to have ‘UNFAIR’ on every streaming platform so that we can listen to it on repeat forever.

    ‘Muddy Water’ (ODDINARY, 2022)

Before the release of ‘UNFAIR,’ the Felix rap verse was, of course, ‘Muddy Water.’ This is one of the best rap-based songs in Stray Kids‘ discography. It’s simply a masterpiece. What makes the song even better is the way Felix opens it. It’s catchy, it’s bold, and it’s iconic! Between the witty references, the flow, and the feelings behind the lyrics, Felix absolutely ate his verse in this song. It showed a new, more confident side to his rapping. And while ‘UNFAIR’ may have dethroned her, ‘Muddy Water’ will forever be one of Felix‘s most iconic and unforgettable rap verses ever.

Stray Kids ATE Album Release Date Confirmed | The Mary Sue

    [ad_1]

Stray Kids fans are feeling nostalgic about the teaser for the upcoming ATE album. They celebrated six years with the eight-member group earlier, on March 25, 2024. Now, Stray Kids is making a comeback with ATE.

Although they haven’t released an album in the first half of 2024, Stray Kids have been busy. We’ve seen them grace the MET Gala 2024 decked out in Tommy Hilfiger suits. They’ve also been preparing for their upcoming 2024 World Tour.

If you don’t want to miss out on the debut of ATE, you can pre-save the album on several music streaming sites like Apple Music and Spotify. Fans won’t have to wait long since ATE will be out on July 19, 2024. The tracklist for ATE hasn’t been released, and we’ll all be able to listen to the full album once it arrives.

The Hellevator reference did not go unnoticed

For a K-pop group that has been around for six years, Stray Kids have implied in this teaser video that their journey is far from over. They will be accomplishing greater feats. We’ll be seeing them stay on the Billboard charts for years to come. But the endearing tribute fans spotted was their callback to ‘Hellevator,’ the debut music video that Stray Kids first released. The MV was released years ago but is currently sitting at 114 million views on YouTube.

  • Are There Stray Kids Tickets 2024? Answered | The Mary Sue

Are There Stray Kids Tickets 2024? Answered | The Mary Sue

    [ad_1]

STAYS (Stray Kids fans) have been rejoicing over the Stray Kids 2024 World Tour. This announcement trended on many social media platforms, with STAYS hoping for the group to tour their countries. Compared to their 5-STAR Dome Tour and MANIAC World Tour, the upcoming 2024 World Tour could have a broader reach.

After speculation from a JYP document, the STAYs were able to predict the possibility of an upcoming World Tour in 2024. Speculations of the country list soon trended, but JYP has yet to confirm any official country list.

Nevertheless, any STAY excited to see the group wouldn’t want to miss out on ticket sales. For any STAY who has plans to attend the Stray Kids World Tour 2024 concert as their first concert, there are several good sites they can visit for fair pricing. Although tickets aren’t on sale yet, it’ll be good to keep an eye out for releases on these sites.

SeatGeek is a well-organized ticketing site where STAYS from the US can grab tickets. The site already has Stray Kids listed, and it’s easy to check tour dates and locations. STAYS from Indonesia can watch ticket sales go live at tiket.com, and fans from the Philippines can anticipate another war at the SM ticketing website if Stray Kids tours there again. Singapore had MANIAC World Tour tickets on Klook, but fans could also access tickets from the Live Nation site. It’s unclear if other Southeast Asian STAYs could buy tickets from Klook for Stray Kids outside of Singapore.

Japan has StubHub and STAY Japan, while South Korean STAYS can access the Yes24 site for World Tour 2024 tickets.

For international fans hoping for Stray Kids to land on their shores, Ticketmaster is also a good site to keep an eye out for, just in case. Thai fans can also access Thai Ticket Major, which is also owned by Ticketmaster.

  • 5 K-pop groups you need to check out NOW: NewJeans, PENTAGON and more

5 K-pop groups you need to check out NOW: NewJeans, PENTAGON and more

    [ad_1]

K-pop actually means Korean Popular music. It is a mix and match of many genres that includes, but is not limited to, pop, rock, hip-hop, R&B, etc. What makes K-pop so unique is that the artists are not limited to one genre. K-pop is really experimental. K-pop groups usually have at least one rapper in them, be it BLACKPINK or BTS. Also, the K-pop language is not strictly limited to Korean. Many languages are mixed and matched in songs, such as in the case of groups like MAMAMOO or SEVENTEEN where English phrases are increasingly being used. This got them brownie points in the global market further increasing their chances of going global.

    Global K-pop-ularity

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, when it comes to the sudden global K-pop fever, timing is the main key. They trace it back to Spotify’s decision to launch the K-pop Hub, but that played a minor role compared to social media and algorithms. And while they report it as mainly a timing thing, the K-pop industry had been laying the bricks of the foundation for its rise for a long time. They always wanted to enter the foreign market. From concerts and events abroad to including more and more English hooks in their songs, the rise can be best described as a domino effect.

As a result, Indonesia, Japan, and the Philippines surpassed South Korea in K-pop related tweets as revealed by Twitter last year.

So, now that we have our basics right, let’s look at the top 10 new K-pop groups that you need to check out, like, right NOW.

    1. NewJeans

This K-pop girl group formed by ADOR, a sub-company of Hybe Corporation,  are ADOR-able and awe-inspiring with their talents at the same time. Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein are the five creatives and they are killing it at the moment with multiple award nominations and wins in their bag. They are hardly six months old, so a baby K-pop group, yet they are leaving footprints on history with their songs including the success of the new single OMG.

    2. (G)I-DLE

Any true K-pop stan has surely heard this name by now. With many looking up to them as a possible future face of K-pop, it consists of 5 members Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua formed under CUBE Entertainment. The group debuted in 2018 and never looked back. Not only did they release a number-one Billboard single, but they’ve been constantly rising like a phoenix. Considering their overall time in the scene, it’s a tremendous achievement.

    3. Stray Kids

Stray Kids is what you need working on weekdays because it’s basically store-bought adrenaline. With high-spirited music and rapping, along with fabulous dance performances, they refuse to let you feel sad while you are listening to them. They are yet another promising group coming out of JYP Entertainment and they came through a reality show of the same name. The eight horsemen of the group are Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. They have managed to achieve great success in the past year thanks to their successful releases.

    4. TOMORROW X TOGETHER

Popularly known as TXT, they are reigning Twitter texts like crazy, sharing the same parent company as BTS- BIGHIT MUSIC. Debuting in 2019,Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun and HueningKai are the 5 hot talents in this group. They are coming up with their fifth mini album ‘Chapter: TEMPTATION’, to be released soon and the excitement level is off the charts. Their releases have ranked on music charts across the world, making it known that they are here to stay.

    5. PENTAGON

If you want to bop like there is no tomorrow, you need to listen to their music. Another banger under CUBE Entertainment, they are quite an interesting bunch. Comprised of Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino and Wooseok, they are a bit older in the scene than rest of the groups here as they debuted in 2016. Their signature mix of electronic and pop is sure to leave an impression in your mind.

    Special mention:

    ITZY

In a true ‘You go girl’ spirit, this girl group is all on the rise. Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna are trained and formed under JYP Entertainment. They have the beauty and the talent to back it up. After debuting in 2019 they have won multiple awards making them a frontrunner. Their debut track, ‘DALLA DALLA’, broke YouTube records for the most views in a 24-hour period for a debut song and made history. ITZY is here to eat and leave no crumbs and the audience is supporting them like crazy it seems.

  • Stray Kids Become The Second K-Pop Act To Chart Multiple No. 1 Albums In The U.S.

Stray Kids Become The Second K-Pop Act To Chart Multiple No. 1 Albums In The U.S.

    [ad_1]

Stray Kids are back at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 once again, but not with their recent champion. The South Korean boy band debuts their new EP Maxident, which opens in first place on the tally with 117,000 equivalent units shifted. The bulk of that figure–110,000 copies–are pure sales, which shows that fans of the group are eager to open their wallets and purchase anything released by the outfit.

Maxident is Stray Kids’ second No. 1 on the Billboard 200, Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most-consumed albums and EPs in the U.S. Impressively, while several earlier releases by Stray Kids have impacted a handful of Billboard charts, such as the Top Album Sales and World Albums lists, none have reached the Billboard 200 without going straight to the summit. By snagging another winner, the group has made history and joined the most successful name from their home country in a very special club.

Stray Kids are now just the second South Korean musical act of any kind to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 more than once. They landed their first leader earlier this year, back in April, when Oddinary opened on the throne with 110,000 copies moved. Now, Maxident not only makes them two-time winners, but it outperformed its predecessor, meaning the band is becoming more and more successful with every passing release.

The only other South Korean act to reach the summit on the Billboard 200 more than once is BTS, who have done so on several occasions. The septet became the first K-pop group to rule over the competitive tally back in June of 2018. The globally-successful band has now sent half a dozen titles to the peak of the chart, easily outpacing any other name from South Korea. Their discography now includes the No. 1s Love Yourself: Tear, Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona, Map of the Soul: 7, Be, and Proof, which conquered the tally back in June of this year.

It’s not common for any act to land several No. 1 albums in a calendar year, and that kind of success is typically reserved for the biggest stars in the music industry. The most recent artist to manage the feat (before Stray Kids) was Taylor Swift, who actually claimed three different chart-toppers in 2021, as Evermore, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and Red (Taylor’s Version), which all spent at least one turn atop the tally.

When Stray Kids first hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year, they became the third K-pop act to do so, following in the footsteps of BTS and SuperM. In between their initial success and this latest one, they have also been joined in this feat by Blackpink, whose sophomore album Born Pink dominated the ranking in early October.
