    Two people are in custody following a police chase involving a stolen vehicle in West Chester on Thursday afternoon, according to our news partners at WCPO-TV.

    The chase began when West Chester police officers pursued a stolen vehicle, but it was terminated near the intersection of Tylersville Road and Kennesaw Drive.

    After the chase was terminated, the driver of the stolen vehicle crashed at the intersection of Tylersville Road and Lesourdsville West Chester Road.

    Police searched the area for suspects, leading to lockdowns at multiple Lakota Local School District schools, which have since been lifted, WCPO-TV said.

    Officials reported that a 17-year-old was taken into custody just before 4 p.m., and a second person was apprehended more than an hour later.

    The incident caused temporary disruptions in the area, but the situation has been resolved with both suspects in custody.

    The OnStar system electronically disabled the vehicle. It slowed and came to rest in the yard of a residence, Deputy Bivens said.

  • Drunk driver arrested in stolen car after head-on collision, cops say

    A Pennsylvania woman was arrested and charged with weapons offenses and driving while intoxicated Thursday after authorities identified her vehicle as stolen using automated license plate readers, police in Gloucester Township said.

    Aleesa McIver, of Philadelphia, was charged with receiving stolen property, assault by auto, eluding, hindering apprehension and weapons offenses.

    Police were at the Howard Johnson Hotel investigating a separate incident at 2:27 p.m. Thursday when a car entered the parking lot and passed by a patrol car that alerted police that the car was reported stolen out of Philadelphia, police said.

    When officers tried to stop the car, a passenger exited the vehicle and attempted to run into a room before officers detained the person, authorities said.

    The car exited the parking lot at a high rate of speed traveling southbound on the Black Horse Pike when it was spotted by another officer driving erratically across a median before turning around and fleeing northbound, authorities said.

    At 2:43 p.m., officers were called to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Station Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue in the Glendora section of Gloucester Township possibly involving the stolen vehicle, police said.

    Officers were told that one of the drivers fled the scene with a duffle bag, and the woman was quickly located by police and confirmed to be the driver of the stolen vehicle, authorities said.

    Investigators determined that the stolen car failed to stop at a stop sign and caused a head on collision, police said. The driver of the other car suffered minor injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital for treatment, officials said.

    The driver of the stolen car was found in possession of a handgun, high-capacity magazines and prescription narcotics, police said.

    Empty alcohol containers were found in the the car, according to authorities.

    An attorney for McIver could not be reached for comment Friday.

    Shaler police said they were alerted by Franklin Park Police around 1:34 a.m. of a stolen pickup truck heading down Route 8 near Spencer Lane. Officers spotted the truck driving down Route 8 and then turning onto Burchfield Road.

    Officers continued to search the neighborhood with a police K-9 and drone, but were unable to find the boy who had fled.

    Shaler Township Police said they believe the group of teens was in the area to break into cars.

    Earlier this week, the department told Channel 11 that they believe a recent uptick in car break-ins in is originating from outside the township. They found that juveniles will get dropped off in stolen vehicles and walk from street to street.

    Police are reminding residents to lock their car doors and remove valuables, especially guns.

    Car theft and a high-speed chase in northern Los Angeles ended in a disturbing car crash on Wednesday (Oct. 23). According to ABC7, cops were chasing a woman in a stolen car for over an hour when she suddenly crashed near a freeway exit.

    Video of the scene went viral early Wednesday evening on social media platforms, as the entire incident seemingly mimicked a robbery movie plot gone wrong.

    Here’s What Police Say Happened In The High-Speed Chase

    ABC7 reports that the high-speed chase began at around 2 p.m. near Santa Clarita, California. The Los Angeles Police Department first pursued the woman before the California Highway Patrol took over.

    The woman, who has yet to be named by the press and police, allegedly stole a 2024 Honda CRV. She reportedly drove erratically through several northern L.A. areas before crashing into a concrete pillar. CBS News reports that she drove on the shoulder of the I-5 Freeway, reaching speeds of up to 130 at one point. Additionally, she weaved through traffic at high speeds, including through a construction zone splitting northbound lanes. Ultimately, she surpassed the Los Angeles-Kern County line but then switched directions and started heading south toward San Fernando Valley.

    At one point, she swerved across four lanes to exit the roadway. However, sliding into the gravel shoulder near the exit ramp, the woman lost control of the stolen car. She was reportedly driving at over 100 mph when the Honda smashed into a road railing and rolled over several times at 115 mph. The shredded car immediately burst into dark smoke after smashing into a concrete pillar under an overpass. An officer at the crash site reportedly called the woman’s passing on the scene an “obvious death,” per CBS.

    (FOX40.COM) — Two teenagers were arrested after they allegedly fled from law enforcement in a stolen vehicle and hit a mother who was walking across a street with a child.

    At around 5 p.m. on Monday, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said they located a stolen vehicle and were led by a 16-year-old boy on a high-speed chase through North Highlands. The teen had another 16-year-old in the passenger seat.

    “These aren’t kids that are on their way to Bible study,” said Sacramento Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Amar Gandhi. “These are gang members, these are criminals, these guys are up to no good.”

    Ghandhi said as the stolen vehicle came across an intersection, they struck another vehicle and a pedestrian woman who suffered serious injuries.

    After the crash and a foot chase, deputies said a gun was recovered and the teens were arrested and taken into custody.

    Police are searching for the driver of a stolen car who struck and killed a 63-year-old man on Sunday before abandoning the vehicle in Fairfax County, Virginia.

    The vehicle theft and hit-and-run crash happened in the Hybla Valley area of Fairfax County, police said in a new release.

    A black 2015 Hyundai Sonata was stolen from the 7900 block of Sausalito Place on Saturday night, the department said.

    The car was spotted by police just after 12:15 a.m. Sunday on Buckman Road near Russell Road. Police said the driver “sped away at the sight of the police” and officers didn’t follow the car.

    Around 15 minutes later, police said the stolen car was speeding on Janna Lee Avenue toward a dead end. The Hyundai sideswiped another vehicle, which had a person inside, near Tamarind Street.

    Police believe the driver then crashed into a dumpster. The driver was gone when police reached the car.

    Near the dumpster crash, police said that an injured pedestrian — identified as James Johnson, 63, of Hybla Valley — was in the grass. He was taken to the hospital and later died.

    Police are investigating the crash but did not share a description of the suspect. They’re asking anyone with information to contact the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling 1-866-411-TIPS and online.

    A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle turned violent when the driver struck an officer and trapped him on the hood of the car, Ohio authorities said.

    On Wednesday, Feb. 7, Columbus police located a Toyota Camry that was reported stolen driving “erratically” in a shopping center parking lot, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

    The driver, 32-year-old Holly Graham, put the car in reverse before “abruptly driving forward,” striking a police sergeant standing outside of his vehicle, according to authorities.

    “The vehicle continued driving through the parking lot with the sergeant on the hood of the vehicle,” police said.

    While still on the hood of the vehicle, “the sergeant discharged their firearm several times, striking the driver,” police said.

    “I see the cop flying up in the air, then, next thing I know, you just hear pop pop pop pop,” Sirena Goines, who witnessed the shooting, told Columbus’ WSYX.

    Graham was able to exit the parking lot, shaking the officer from the hood of the car, officials said.

    While approaching the on-ramp to Interstate 71 North, Graham struck two vehicles head on, at which time officers took her into custody, according to police.

    Graham, the only person in the car, was brought to a hospital in serious condition as of Feb. 7, police said.

    The sergeant was also brought to the hospital and, as of Feb. 7, was in stable condition, according to authorities.

    Graham is charged with felonious assault, police said.

    In accordance with Marsy’s Law, the Columbus Division of Police did not identify the sergeant involved.
