Webzen is introducing a new way to reach a higher level of strength to its MMORPG MU Archangel. Now, in addition to making your character look both interesting and intimidating, your Wings will now have their very own Soul that you can upgrade to become even more powerful.

What’s in store

When you reach Master Level 350 you will unlock two new features; the Wing Soul and the Wing Awakening. These features will make themselves at home in the Warrior’s Aegis under the Wings menu and will be available for any tier and grade so you will have a lot of options when you start to level up the Soul.

The initial phase you will encounter will likely be upgrading the Wing Soul, which will result in exclusive Wing Soul options. To upgrade this, you will need to use Flame items such as the Faint White Flame. After this, you can start looking into Wing Soul Infusions, provided you’ve got yourself a few of the Breath of Phoenix materials.

There is more than one way to level up

Each tier of Wing Soul can be infused up to a 10 Star Rating, with you gaining access to the powerful Eternity options when you get high enough. The issue of course is the success rate for infusion will be lower as you advance through the ranks, with a failure in fact lowering your rank. The good news is that Star Ratings 4 and 8 act as checkpoints of sorts, so you can’t regress below these once you pass them. It is highly advised to start using the Soul Amulet at higher Rating attempts though to negate the regression should you fail, for both convenience and so you don’t need to grab even more Breath of Phoenix.

One of the main things to bear in mind about Wing Soul Upgrade and Infusions is that the vast majority of items you need to level up can be obtained through Daily Packages, including the Soul Amulets, so it would be in your best interest to make sure you start hoarding this ASAP so you have a nice stockpile to draw from.

All that is only half of the fun though, as you can also Awaken the Wing for more power, and to get some very useful Awakening Property Skills. The max tier you can reach is 3, with Phoenix’s Soul being needed to advance, and the material’s grade differs for each tier so you will need to do some farming.

Some Tricks of the Trade

If you are primarily a PvE player, Awakening shouldn’t be your priority over Infusion. This is because the Awakening Property skills are specialized for PvP battles, so are a little less useful elsewhere. If you want to start going toe-to-toe with other players, Awakening will be all be required though as you can imagine most players will be grinding this out for the advantage.

Another very important point to think about when you start Awakening is what character class you want to PvP as. At the beginning of the process, you will be asked to choose a class that will determine the Property skill, and this is an irreversible choice. So make sure you are 100% happy with your class before you throw away all that time and materials in upgrading the Wing.

The peace between major forces has collapsed and in a bid to reign supreme in the chaos, the forces have crafted their ultimate weapon: The Base. In this new event, players can drive their bases to survey the continent and get exclusive event items including wartime tokens and other upgrade materials, which can be used to significantly enhance your base.

By developing heavy weapons that can be equipped on bases, or setting up designated pilots to the base to activate “pilot bonds”, players can enhance the level of the base’s properties, which will grant players rewards including Crystals, Battle Sequence, and more. Additional rewards are also on offer thanks to Evelyn, who’s prepared tons of bonus rewards for Captains on Final Gear’s official Facebook fan page.

Slick Controls

Soccer games have always had a notoriously difficult time delivering intuitive controls to touch screens, but fortunately, after many years of trial and error, we’ve reached a standard that satisfies the majority of fans. Total Football takes all the right cues from its contemporaries to provide a simple three button system and directional toggle. Whether you’re in possession of the ball or playing defense, the system will adjust to give you the essential commands, such as clearing the ball, shooting, or delivering sliding tackles, to easily adapt to any given situation.

Build your own team

Total Football requires you to build up your very own team, choosing its name, colors, uniform design, and the league you want to play in (English League, Spanish League, Italian League, French League, or Portuguese League).

As you play through the game, you’ll be able to use the Agent and Scouting features to unlock real-life talents like Antonio Griezman, Marcus Rashford, Olivier Giroud, and the great Ronaldinho himself, and add them to your line-ups.

Total Football also throws in a swath of arcade style level up features, like energy drinks and XP points, to upgrade your players. You can also boost their abilities by taking them through a series of training sessions.

Multiple game modes

Aside from PvE matches that you’ll encounter through the game’s Career Mode, you can also join PvP matches via the Live Arena mode, where you can play against other players in real time, and Friendly mode, where you can set up matches against your friends online.

If you like an even bigger challenge, you can take part in Ranked Matches in order to try and climb the leaderboards and receive rewards, and compete in Cup Games; these are mini tournaments where you can face up to 7 other players in knockout competitions.

Total Football’s Career mode also adds a couple of extra facets like The Road to Glory, whereby you earn points by playing all kinds of matches, and Academy Sessions, which rewards you for completing certain challenges during matches.

World Cup Fever

With the World Cup currently underway, Total Football is running a limited time event called Pick Em 2022 where you can lay down your predictions on how each team will perform. Naturally, shrewd soccer fans will receive a host of rewards for making correct predictions.

Anyone who’s ever dreaded a major exam has probably woken up in a cold sweat after a terrible dream. School is a breeding ground for horrific nightmares both during the day and at night, and in Haunted Dorm, developer Mihuan has taken things up a notch with its innovative mix of tower defense and “hide and seek” elements to bring players a truly chilling experience.

A terror teacher who’s out to get you

While some educators only want what’s best for us as we aim to reach our full potential in school, others may not be so amiable. We’ve all had that one teacher who always seems to be out to get us, and in Haunted Dorm, you don’t have to imagine what it’s like to have that same teacher turn into a demonic ghost.

As a student, you’ll have no choice but to lie on your bed while a malevolent demon scratches and scrapes at the door. You’ll no doubt fear for your life, but thankfully, you won’t be as defenseless as you might think. Players can fortify their rooms and reinforce their doors to keep the demonic teacher at bay, because while the game foregoes the waves of enemies that are typical of the genre, it certainly ups its terror level by having just one persistent enemy (or Dream Hunter) trying to break down your door by all means necessary.

A compounded sense of helplessness

Speaking of being helpless, what’s interesting about Haunted Dorm is that you realistically only have limited resources available to you to buff up your defenses. Apart from making sure your Door is in tip-top shape, you can upgrade your Bed to earn enough currency to buy other what-have-yous around you.

For instance, the Repair Bench can keep your Door standing for as long as possible, while the Turret can help you attack the Dream Hunter at the gates. You can also make use of other structures such as the Game Console, the Spell Catapult, the Energy Shield, the ATM and even the Refrigerator – basically whatever you can get your hands on to keep the monster at bay.

A desperate attempt to escape your fate

Of course, you’ll have a variety of ways to steer clear of the Dream Hunter in tonnes of different Game Modes for you and your friends to tinker around with. Apart from the Classic Map, the Ice and Snow Map lets you become the Dream Hunter as you try to break down the door to eliminate the sleeping students. In the Story Mode, you can choose from the Moss Room, Catch All at a Time, Reclaim Ghost, Preventable and Controllable, Sell Off Their Property, Help Teammates, and Only One will Survive modes.

There’s also a unique Seven Monsters Mode where players progress through seven levels to win. They have to persevere as failing or quitting halfway will reset their progress. On each level, the Dream Hunter will have a specific skill and random buffs such as moving speed +20% or attack speed +30%. There will also be random props, which gives this mode a roguelite feel.

Haunted Dorm has gained a bit of a cult following since its global launch in February this year, boasting the top spot in TapTap’s popularity rankings in China plus an App Store Free Games Ranking No.4 under its belt.
