Santa Art is coming to town, and he’s bringing a few of his killer friends along to bring us a new season of frights. Taking a cue from horror movie villains, Spirit Halloween just won’t die, and we love that.
Sure, Spirit’s Christmas section also has non-horror holiday stuff too. But Creepmas fun is the main attraction, and the Halloween retailer has just unleashed a swath of holiday gear featuring Santa Art the Clown as seen in Terrifier 3.
Also joining Art under the tree are Scream‘s Ghostface, Chucky, Regan from The Exorcist, and even Halloween icon Michael Myers. You can find their ghoulish faces splattered across ugly Christmas sweaters in festive light-up garish sparkle. Listen, with the way the world has been, if you want to don spooky gear all year long, it’s very valid.
Santa Art making his mark as a holiday staple makes a lot of sense, as the brutal character played by David Howard Thornton spends most of Terrifier 3 cosplaying as the jolly man in red. The movie’s release last year may have been too close to the holidays to really see much merch take hold, but this year, it’s a full-on assault of Santa Art: nutcrackers, plushes, costumes, Christmas tree glasses, shirts, and plenty of gifting goods for the Terrifier fan in your life. We’re pretty sure Santa Art is going to stay a holiday staple for years to come.
Ghostface is also part of Spirit Halloween’s plan for taking over another holiday, including some cutesy selections if you’re dreaming of a pink Christmas—giving the masked maniac an excuse to linger around the house until the release of Scream 7 in early 2026.
Ghostface is also parodying the Christmas games started by Elf on a Shelf withGhost Face at Your Place. So you know, if you’re naughty, Ghost Face is watching. I actually prefer Ghostface over the Elf, who looks more cursed and creepy.
There are, of course, characters that make actual sense as part of the holiday pivot, including Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws from The Nightmare Before Christmas and winter folklore terror Krampus—and Spirit Halloween is all over them, too. You can find costumes, decor, and a wildly scary Krampus animatronic inspired by the 2015 film. Check out the gallery below for a look at that as well as more Creepmas inspiration!
Officers responded to a Spirit Halloween store in Plano on Monday night to assist with the retrieval of a customer’s loose pet monkey, body camera footage shows.
In the footage, the monkey is seen swinging from the store’s rafters as police walk through the store, trying to find the animal’s owner.
When police find the woman, she has regained control of the monkey, footage shows.
The woman tells officers as she leaves the store that the monkey took off after being startled by a Halloween decoration.

Halloween is here, and with that, costume parties have arrived. Now, we’ve already covered some of the most coveted looks of the year, such as KPop Demon Hunters, as well as wacky superhero fun, and, of course, titans of terror like Terrifier, but what about the outright weird?
Here are io9’s picks for the strange and unusual but often hilarious Halloween costumes of 2025. Retailers took some familiar spooky season icons and gave them a spin that goes from cleverly yet confusingly sexy to head-scratching to grimly funny to downright nightmare fuel. There’s a lot of room in between for so many questions, so if you go for any of our picks, you might just end up being the talk of the party.
SpongeBob SquarePants Patrick Star Catsuit Costume – Spirit Halloween: The SpongeBob SquarePants movie came out in 2004, but it gave us a Patrick meme that will never die; it’s truly the gift that keeps on slaying. The fishnets and boots dance moment is bizarrely iconic and has no right to diva down this hard so many years later.
Shrek Lord Farquaad Dress Costume – Spirit Halloween:The way this fun Lady Farquaad looks like the perfect fit to throw on has made me a believer. It’s simply a serve in the oddest way possible… and just might make the wearer suddenly want to track down gingerbread men to torture.
Pearl “Killer Farmhouse Starlet” Premium Costume Set – DollsKill: She’s a staaaaaaaar! Did we need a skimpy Pearl movie costume moment? It feels so random to pull from such a cult film but the folks at DollsKill really did it. Good luck trying to secure this costume; it’s already sold out. (You could probably DIY your own version pretty easily, though.)
The Cat in the Hat poncho – Spirit Halloween: Whimsical yet low effort makes no sense to go together, but this lazy Cat in the Hat poncho pulls off that combination with ease. You can make it scarier with makeup prosthetics or just draw on some whiskers but always remain an agent of Seussical chaos.
The Emperor’s New Groove Kronk Costume – Spirit Halloween: Kronk can definitely pull the lever in this Emperor’s New Groove costume based on the himbo evil sidekick from the early 2000s Disney animated movie. The character taking this long to join the Disney Villains Halloween lineup is so wild.
Full Moon Werewolf Costume – Spirit Halloween: Well, that’s one way to dress a werewolf transformation and be economical about how much fabric goes where. The booty shorts are a perfect touch and if you’re in a climate that tends to have Halloweens run hot, this might be for you.
Dune Paul Atreides – Spirit Halloween: A stillsuit this is not; Paul would never. It doesn’t even hold anyone’s water, maybe a layer of sweat that would go to waste. Fremen would frown at this.
“Radioactive Shrimp Baby – Spirit Halloween: This may just be a shrimp costume but we think with some neon lights and a “recalled” sign, it could be a very timely look for a baby.
Kids Halloween Michael Myers Pick Me Up Costume – Spirit Halloween: The rise of inflatable slashers embracing the wearer as a victim needs to be documented. This Michael Myers one is one heck of an illusion because your legs are his legs but you’re also clearly the victim. Chalk this one up to creative costume genius.
Kids Vampire Coffin 3D Costume: Another one the youths can have fun with, wearing a coffin as deceased from the plague and all that. This being specifically a kid’s costume is unconsciously grim but funny.
The Monkey – HalloweenCostumes.com: The cat model for this costume looks like it’s channeling the energy of Oz Perkins’ The Monkey. I think if the pet owner dressed up as one of the demented toy’s victims or a blood-drenched Theo James, it would make it even more unhinged.
Halloween Michael Myers pet costume – Spirit Halloween: Stop! We cannot with the Michael Myers mask beret. The look of it really works despite it not making sense to the character, who never takes off his mask. If a cute dog ran up to me dressed like this, consider me dead.
Hello Kitty dog costume – PetSmart: It’s a dog dressed as a cat; make it make sense. So yes, have your pet assume the identity of one of the most iconic cartoon cats with the Sanrio-approved overalls and a headband.
Creature From the Black Lagoon Gill-man Dog & Cat Costume – Amazon: The depths of this galaxy brain costume run deep. Would I ever ponder, “Hmm, I think I’d like to dress my dog up as if he’s rescued the Creature from the Black Lagoon?” No, not at all but this costume does make me need to see my dog run around looking like he’s rescued the Creature from the Black Lagoon.
The Truly Weird
Labubu – DollsKill: Sexy Labubu was inevitable. And the demand is high, as DollsKill is pretty much sold out on its wild drop inspired by the PopMart keychain monster trend.
Two Person Brawny Brontosaurus Costume – HalloweenCostumes.com: I feel so bad for whoever ends up being the back of the brawny brontosaurus. This dino duo costume looks like a comedy bit, not to mention dangerous to party in—of course we’d sit back and watch the chaos.
The Yellow Brick Road – HalloweenCostumes.com: Okay, this one really tickles because being the yellow brick road is the perfect add-on to a Wicked group costume that’s not the obvious Tin Man or Scarecrow. It is so For Good coded and you can stand between an Elphaba and Glinda to recreate the posters. Two witch women, one road. Done and done.
Action Hero Costume for Dogs – HalloweenCostumes.com: In a world where danger lurks around every corner, there’s one dog ready to sniff and snuff it out. Action hero dog needs his own movie. All dogs should have this costume to guard their homes in.
Disney Muppets Statler and Waldorf masks – HalloweenCostumes.com: Yeah, seeing The Muppets’ Statler and Waldorf out of their balcony and walking around with the creepiest big heads is the most terrifying thing we’ve seen. Can you imagine how they’d chase their victims while roasting them, though? Bonkers.
Capitalism at its finest. Thanks to a viral tweet from user DetectivePrince, it’s beyond clear that we are truly living in the worst possible timeline with no relief in sight.
Just to put some well-deserved respect on JOANN’s *GOT DANG* name…it needs to be stated that the fabric store was founded 82 years ago in Ohio. Read that again. 82 YEARS AGO.
JOANN Fabrics was established in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and forty fucking three, just to have SSH Holdings plaster a neon orange sign over their corpse and sell the shittiest quality costumes known to man.
Hard to believe we’re one week into October, and the race to get those Halloween fits together is already getting pretty heated. Spirit Halloween continues to drop looks into the month with a new officially licensed Sinners collection that features the lead characters of Ryan Coogler’s vampire blockbuster hit.
The gorgeous ensembles are perfect for a juke joint vampire showdown-themed group costume. Duos can transform into twin brothers Stack and Smoke (both played in the movie by Michael B. Jordan) or double date as the film leads and their leading ladies. The collection features Mary’s vintage dress look that comes already covered in blood as well as a dress inspired by Annie, Smoke’s Hoodoo protector and love.
You can find the Sinners drop online or in stores alongside other cinematic heavy hitters such as KPop Demon Hunters. The latter is currently sold out online, so you’ll have to get ready to hunt for them at your local Spirit (but try not to get into a “Takedown” moment).
Between this Sinners release and the Huntr/x costumes, Spirit really has raised the spooky bar on dressing up as your favorite characters and having screen-accurate accessories (like these Jurassic Park goggles). They have Smoke’s Mojo bag (which you can purchase separately), Huntr/x Rumi wigs, and Sienna Shaw’s angel warrior sword from Terrifier. All that’s missing is the actual Sienna hero look and an Aunt Gladys getup for that chaotic Weapons energy. Guess you’ll have to raid some closets or Goodwill for those.
Take a closer look at the Sinners costumes and more in the gallery below.
Check these out (along with all the other costumes in stock) at Spirit Halloween.
It’s officially October, which can only mean one thing: Halloween season is finally here! At least for normies, because some of us outcasts live it every day, anyway.

We love the inclusion of the daisy sunglasses and Sienna’s superpowered dagger.
If you’re a movie prop replica collector, you know exactly which Beetlejuice sign we’re talking about.
For years, as a Beetlejuice decor hunter, there has been one item I refused to buy on principle because it had one glaring mistake: it was not in-universe accurate. I’ve bought the Adam and Barbara monster face hanging decor, the inflatable Sandworm for my lawn, and the “Here Lies Betelgeuse” tombstone—but never the iconic light-up sign due to the fact that it always featured the ghost with the most’s name spelled wrong.
Here’s what I mean. On the left, the scene from Beetlejuice; on the right, the old version of the sign from Spirit Halloween:
The spelling of Beetlejuice’s name has long been a point of contention. Tim Burton’s classic film spells its title Beetlejuice. But within the movie, Michael Keaton’s wisecracking dead guy always spells it “Betelgeuse.” It’s seen on the lighted sign, the tombstone, and the flyer the Maitland family finds.
Whether it was an oversight or products simply going with the recognizable spelling, it always bugged me that the licensed replicas were technically incorrect. And in my household, we love to collect in-universe-specific items, so when we built up our Beetlejuice decor, we never bought the sign—or any other item that featured the “Beetlejuice” spelling when it should have been “Betelgeuse.”
So you can imagine my surprise when, perusing the Spirit Halloween website, I noticed the change we film snobs have been waiting for in this, our year 2025:
We would like to thank whoever made this happen for looking out for the fandom. Now, of course, the hunt is on to find it at our local Spirit Halloween; good luck!
It seems these days most major franchises want to cash in on that Star WarsBaby Yoda money by making their own adorable version of something within any given fandom. We saw it last year with the debut of Baby Beetlejuice in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and now this year we have Spirit Halloween‘s Horror Babies.
The cuteness aggression is too real with Terrifier star Art the Clown—plus Chucky, Ghostface, lil’ Michael Myers, Leatherface, Pennywise, and others, all featured as infants in the Spirit Halloween line. You just want to hold them and let them love you to death, ya know? We particularly love Pink Ghostface and the sunglass-wearing Art, who delight with bold, bright colors and playful poses.
Take a look at the lineupbelow!
According to Spirit Halloween, the dolls range in price from $15 for the mini to $55 for the full-size. The smaller options appear to be in stores and have dimensions of 4″ H x 2.8″ W x 4″ D.
Meanwhile, the ones that approximate the size of actual human babies are made of foam filled with latex and are 12.5″ H x 12.5″ W x 8.8″ D. Some of the bigger ones will be available at the seasonal Halloween pop-up but others, like Leatherface and Pink Ghostface, appear to be online only. These are so good and, honestly, a good chilling chibi take on iconic horror titans that fans will definitely add to their collections. Happy Halloween hunting!
The iconic T. rex escape scene is seared into the collective core memory of Jurassic Park fans. Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster franchise is full of memorable moments, from the jiggling water to the lawyer running to the bathroom. But if you, like me, had the film as one of your earliest and most life-changing cinema-going experiences, there’s not a detail forgotten—especially not the goggles. You know the ones that Tim grabs and the lawyer tells him to put back, because if they’re heavy, “they’re expensive.”
And that’s indeed been a fact of life for Jurassic fans who longed for their own pair of those iconic goggles: all available replicas have been expensive. Until now, that is.
Over 30 years later the wait is now over, as Spirit Halloween has released the highly coveted goggles of our childhood dreams, available at the seasonal spooky retailer’s pop-up near you and online. The officially licensed costume prop is $149.99; a price point that is much more reasonable than a custom prop replica or a 1:1 mantlepiece, such as the Chronicle Collectibles release from 2018. These could have saved little me a ton of sleepless nights as a kid if they would have been on hand in addition to a cup of water on my nightstand, which I’d look at to make sure it stayed still.
The only catch? They don’t detail night-vision capabilities, but hey, it’s for dress-up and not actually spotting Rexy in the distance. Take a look at the officially licensed Universal Pictures Jurassic Park goggles, which are so far the closest we’ll get to the real thing, and we’ll take it!
Welp. It’s that time of year again. The first week of August where everyone starts obsessing over all things Fall, Halloween, and pumpkin spice for absolutely no reason.
Pumpkin beer will start hitting the shelves even though it’s 90 degrees outside. Spirit Halloween stores are already open because I definitely need to buy a costume that won’t fit me by the end of October.
So we thought it was necessary to collect some of the best premature Autumn memes the internet has to offer.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice andBluey fever join horror classics and spooky lore-inspired collections at major home decor retailers and seasonal pop-up giants Spirit Halloween and Party City.
Halloween’s niche in horror fandom has expanded way beyond October 31, so it makes sense that home decor and goods inspired by scary movies, classic monsters, and supernatural legends are becoming more and more a staple of everyday life. Hey—if the comic book and sci-fi nerds do it all year, so can the spooky season folks. What’s so shocking, however, is that Halloween teases are now dropping so soon after July 4. In previous years, anticipation for stores to fill their shelves with orange-and-black delights got more of a chance to build, at least until back-to-school aisles were cleared. And while some retailers are apparently still checking the calendar—including Target, which has thus far kept its Halloween collection under wraps—if you visit the sites or even locations for the Disney Store, Lowe’s, Spirit Halloween, Home Depot, Party City, Michaels, At Home, and Joann, you can start shopping pumpkins, ghosts, skeletons, and more.
You’ll have to be quick though! Early-bird horror fiends are already raiding the aisles—as are re-sellers intent on snatching up any items with the potential to go viral and become the Halloween must-haves for 2024. That’s why so many are sold out in the middle of summer—though most will be re-stocked, so if you see something you can’t live without, get on those alerts so you’ll be first in line when it returns. And keep in mind what’s been dropped so far isn’t everything; there’ll be more as we get closer to fall. The Disney Store just started its release schedule with The Haunted Mansion collection but has more planned in the coming weeks. And Beetlejuice stuff has begun to trickle out to retailers like Spirit Halloween—witness this giant inflatable at Party City of the circus carousel ghost with the most—but it’s worth noting that so far it’s only been product from the iconic first film. We have yet to see anything from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but it’s definitely coming. Tim Burton fans will be happy to learn that The Corpse Bride will be a huge feature at Spirit Halloween as will slashers like Scream and John Carpenter’s Halloween franchise. Home Depot will feature the Universal Monsters, the not-so-scary (but clear-cut kid favorite) Bluey, and more Nightmare Before Christmas with that 13-foot Jack Skellington animated statue (which we hope comes with a Sandy Claws outfit for Christmas).
But what if you don’t need pop culture splattered all over your seasonal decor? Fans of supernatural folklore, witchy classic literature, kooky familiars, sentient pumpkins, and paranormal specters aren’t getting left behind either. Michaels, At Home, and Joann Fabrics have some deeply aesthetic collections of their own out to shop that aren’t IP at all but will make your abode feel supremely haunted. We particularly love the Midnight Moon and Haunted Forest collections at Michaels that harken to some classic monster and A24 atmospheric vibes. Then for those into astrology, traditional Halloween, and graveyard goth, definitely look into the drops at Joann and At Home (but shout out to these awesome Jack Skellington pieces). And lets not forget Lowe’s truly epic aquatic horror line. There’s a huge front yard Kraken that’s already hard to get your hands on, because who doesn’t want to release the Kraken for Halloween?
There’s already something for everyone and picking a theme is going to be so hard this year! Let us know if you’ve managed to secure anything already or if you’re going to wait and show up only to find Christmas aisles in September. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
