We love fudge and this easy version is quick and delicious! Super versatile too.

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

This is the quickest and easiest fudge recipe you will ever make! It only takes a few minutes and it is so good. I cut this into small pieces and keep it in my fridge for when I am craving something sweet, and since I am a chocoholic, it makes the perfect treat.

    SWAPS & ADDITIONS

This a super versatile and straightforward base recipe. You can easily switch out the chips, could use peanut butter or butterscotch or a combination. We have made this with butterscotch and it was delicious. You could also add in some raisins, take out the nuts, add in coconut. This is a recipe you can really play with.

    ⭐TIP

This is a softer style fudge, not super hard and I feel like it is even better the next day, so you can easily make this in advance.

These peanut butter treats are so easy to make and are delicious! Great for any gathering.

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We are big fans of Rice Krispie treats, and these take those to the next level. If you are a fan of chocolate and peanut butter then you will want to make these too. The addition of brown sugar is excellent. These are also made in an 8X8, so they are perfect for just a few people. You could also double the recipe.

    SWAPS & ADDITIONS

These are very versatile; you could easily switch out the semi-sweet chocolate chips for dark chocolate or white chocolate. If you are not a fan of pecans, you can use walnuts or leave the nuts out altogether. We make these with creamy peanut butter, but any would probably work.

    [ad_1]

These Sausage Cheese Biscuits are always a good idea! Perfect way to start the day.

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We love these biscuits because they are a little different. Instead of serving a biscuit with sausage and cheese, we added it all to the batter. They turned out perfect and we all loved them and now make them often. They are delicious with grape jelly on them! They reheat well and are perfect to make on a Sunday and have for breakfast throughout the week.

    SWAPS & ADDITIONS

We use buttermilk to make these biscuits and genuinely feel the extra fat gives them a wonderful flavor. You can use regular milk if you like. You can also add any spices to this recipe and switch out the cheese! Super versatile.

    CAN I FREEZE THESE?

Yes, you can freeze these biscuits, and they also reheat well in the microwave. This recipe is one you can enjoy for just a few people, make them up, enjoy a few and freeze the rest!

    A Childhood Full of Biscuits

    Cuisine American

    • 1 box Brownie mix with instructions for making in a 13×9 pan + ingredients listed on the package
    • 2 cups pecans roughly chopped
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • Preheat oven according to brownie package instructions.

    • Mix brownies according to package instructions.

    • Pour brownie batter into a greased 13×9-inch pan and place in the oven to bake for 23 minutes. (The cooking time for all brownie mixes is different. This brownie mix cooking time was 33 minutes, but I cooked it 10 minutes less. I suggest subtracting 10 minutes from the cooking time on the box or cooking it for 2/3 of the time.)

    • While the brownies cook, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, butter, and vanilla in a small saucepan. Place the saucepan on the stovetop over medium-high heat and begin to cook, stirring continuously. Cook the filling until it begins to thicken. Add the pecans into the mixture and continue to cook until the mixture is thicker but pourable. You still want it to be pourable.

    • When the brownies have finished with the first round of baking, remove them from the oven, poke the top with a fork or skewer, and pour the pecan pie filling over them, spreading it out to cover the brownies completely.

    • Place them back in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the filling seems pretty set. Let cool to room temperature before cutting

These Salted Nut Roll Bars are so easy to make and an absolute hit! Great addition to any gathering.

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We have always been big fans of the Payday Candy Bar, and this is pretty much the homemade version. We all agree it’s even better and that it’s only a few ingredients that make it an even bigger winner! You can make these in about 15 minutes and then just put them in the refrigerator to chill. We have made these for a few gatherings and so easy, just cut them in small pieces and enjoy!

    SWAPS

We once made these with fat-free sweetened condensed milk, and they turned out good. You can also add in some Reese’s Pieces on the top if you like, or M&M’s. We like them made the original way but they are versatile. Some people use other nuts like pecans and switch up the peanut butter chips for butterscotch or chocolate, but if you want them to taste like payday, stick with this recipe.

These can be hard right out of the fridge, so we set them out for 5-10 minutes and then cut them. You can freeze them in an air-tight container up to a few months, just thaw and enjoy.

  • PEANUT BUTTER PIE

    [ad_1]

This old-fashioned peanut butter pie is one your family will love. It’s absolutely delicious.

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

If you love peanut butter, this pie is for you, and I assure you… It’s fantastic! The creamy peanut butter layer, combined with the crunch of the crumbs, gives this pie the best texture and flavor. The meringue on this pie is unique since it’s not fluffy. This pie is essentially made with a layer of meringue, as you add the crumb topping and then bake it. We all agree that the merignue really is an excellent addition to this pie.

    ⭐TIP

The mixture should start to thicken while it is cooking. I don’t let it get as thick as pudding before removing from the heat, as it will continue to thicken as it cools until it is about the consistency of pudding when cool. The mixture doesn’t need to cool before you pour it over the crumb mixture.

    • 1 9 inch pie shell, baked according to package directions or if you make your own, it should be baked
    • 3/4 cup crunchy peanut butter could use creamy
    • 1 1/4 cups confectionery sugar
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 1 12 fl. ounce can evaporated milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 cup cornstarch
    • 3 eggs separated
    • 1/2 cup regular sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
    • In a bowl, mix the sugar and peanut butter together using a fork until mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Remove 1/2 cup crumbs and set aside. Spread the rest of the crumbs in the baked pie shell. Mix together 2 tablespoons margarine, evaporated milk, salt, the 3 egg yolks (keep the whites for the meringue), 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a pan. Cook on medium heat on top of the stove stirring constantly until thickens. (about 5 to 7 minutes). I remove as soon as it starts to thicken. (This will burn easily so watch it closely).

    • Pour this over the crumb mixture in the pie shell. Beat the 3 egg whites until stiff and spread over the pie. Spread remaining crumbs on top of the meringue.

    • Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 20 minutes. (I usually turn the broiler on for a few seconds before removing the pie but watch it constantly or it will burn on top).

Mix cornmeal with whole kernel corn and cream style corn with a spoon; add eggs and butter and continue mixing. Add onion, salt, buttermilk and 1 cup of the shredded cheese. Pour into a sprayed casserole dish.

    Step 2
Sprinkle remaining cup of shredded cheese on top. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven 35 to 40 minutes until brown on top. Makes about 12 large servings (I use a 10X10 baking dish)

    Old Fashioned Potato Candy

If you love this old fashioned candy you will also want to try these wonderful Coconut Pecan Pralines! These are a great addition to any holiday gathering.

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

This recipe was made popular during the Great Depression era. We love this recipe because the taste is wonderful! It’s hard to leave this candy alone and we love to make it for Christmas. • Powdered Sugar
    • Vanilla Extract

Old Fashioned Potato CandyOld Fashioned Potato Candy

    ⭐TIPS & NOTES

Do not use granulated sugar, it must be powdered sugar for this recipe to work. The amount of powdered sugar matters and it can vary depending on how much potato you use. This is an old fashioned recipe, so you will need to start with a small potato and just continue to work with the powdered sugar until you get the consistency you need. You don’t want it to crack when you roll it out, you want it to be more clay like. Work quickly the dough will dry out.

If you roll the dough and feel it needs to be chilled before slicing, cut the roll in half and store in the fridge for a bit. Then remove and slice.

    • Remove from stove after boiling 3 minutes and spread over the saltine crackers with a knife. The mixture should be at soft ball stage or should make a soft ball when a little is dropped in ice water.  Have your oven preheated to 400 degrees.  Place baking sheet in oven for 3 minutes on middle rack.  Remove after 3 minutes and sprinkle on chocolate chips.  Put back in oven for another minute to let chocolate chips melt.  Remove and spread out the melted chips with a knife. Sprinkle on nuts and kind of mash into chocolate.  Refrigerate until hard (about 2 or 3 hours) or could put in freezer for a while.  Break into pieces.  Makes a 1 1/2 quart container full.  Keep refrigerated.

    🍴KEY INGREDIENTS

    • Nuts (I use walnuts. Pecans would be good, too)
    • Coconut
    • German chocolate cake mix or regular chocolate cake mix
    • Milk
    • Butter
    • Cream cheese
    • Powdered sugar
    • Chocolate chips

    SWAPS

You can make this cake with other cake mixes, too.  I like to divide the cake mix because I think it makes a much prettier cake. You can just put in all the cake mix and put the cream cheese mixture on top and bake. We have also made this with spice cake mix and using butterscotch chips. It was delicious.

    🍽️HOW TO MAKE

This cake comes together really quickly and it’s wonderful topped with ice cream. Full printable recipe in recipe card below.

    📖COOKING STEPS

    Step 1
Spray a 9 x 13 baking dish. Sprinkle the nuts on the bottom of the dish. Layer the coconut on top of the nuts. In a separate bowl prepare the cake mix according to package directions except use the 1 cup of milk in place of the water called for in the directions on the box. Spread half the cake mixture over the coconut.

    Step 2
In a microwave safe glass bowl melt the butter and cream cheese. This takes about 2 minutes in my microwave. Whisk the powdered sugar or mix with mixer into the cream cheese and melted butter. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the layer of cake mix in the baking dish. (You can drop it by spoon fulls if you want). Read step 3 below in the recipe card.

    🍽️HOW TO MAKE

This is made in a skillet but you can easily make up the meat, throw it in a crock pot and add the rest of the ingredients, minus the pasta. You will want to add that before you eat, so it doesn’t get overcooked.

    📖COOKING STEPS

    Step 1
Brown turkey, beef and onion in skillet and drain. Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, then turn to simmer for about an hour.
