If you love Three Musketeers Candy, this is the treat for you! It’s only 3 ingredients!

    Cool Whip Candy

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We are big Three Musketeer lovers, so this recipe is perfect for us. Plus, it’s only 3 simple ingredients, which is always a WIN! It’s perfect for the holiday season and you can decorate them anyway you like! Super fun and so versatile.

    SWAPS

Some people will dip these in white chocolate for the holiday season. We suggest using good-quality chocolate morsels as they bring out the best flavor in this candy.

    Cool Whip CandyCool Whip Candy

    ⭐TIP

You don’t have to cut these into squares; you can drop them by spoonfuls onto parchment paper, put them in the fridge, and then dip them. The chocolate hardens very fast, so if you plan to decorate them, add sprinkles right after dipping them.

If you love Three Muskateers this is the recipe for you! Only 3 ingredients and so easy.

    Prep Time 8 minutes

    2 hours

Total Time 2 hours 8 minutes

    Course candy, Dessert

    Cuisine American

    • 1 8 ounce Cool Whip thawed
    • 2 bags milk chocolate chips 11 ounces bag (or close to it)
    • 24 ounces of premium chocolate melting wafers we used Ghirardelli
    • Thaw cool whip (we thawed it in the refrigerator and then set it out for about 15 minutes)

    • In a microwave safe bowl, melt the milk chocolate chips. Melt for about 30 seconds, then stir and continue that cycle until they are fully melted.

    • Stir thawed cool whip into the milk chocolate chips. Keep stirring until fully combined. Line an 8X8 baking dish with parchment paper and pour cool whip mixture into it. Spread out evenly with a knife. Put in the freezer for a few hours.

    • Remove from freezer and cut into small squares. Melt the chocolate wafers in the microwave (using the same steps from above, 30 seconds at a time). Dip each square into the chocolate and place on parchment paper to harden. Top with sprinkles if desired.

    • We keep these in the refrigerator, we like them cold.

You can store these in the freezer up to 30 days.

  • Thanksgiving for only a few? This is the perfect turkey recipe!

    [ad_1]

Looking for a recipe for only a few people, this is the perfect recipe to make! This crock pot turkey breast is simple and delicious!

    Crock Pot Turkey Breast

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We love easy recipes and this one is definitely that.. super simple! It’s perfect for just a few people and great for Thanksgiving. It takes practically no prep and it’s loaded in flavor. It’s one of those recipes that goes great with our creamy mashed potatoes and broccoli casserole.

    SWAPS

In this recipe, you can use whole cranberry sauce in the can or jellied cranberry sauce. We made this with jellied cranberry sauce, but it works with either! This is made with Lipton Onion Soup Mix but if you don’t want to use that, you can always make your own…here is our recipe.

Looking to complete your meal? Discover our favorite side dishes, which are truly delicious. Each of these dishes we have enjoyed throughout the years. Many of these are perfect for a small gathering. Read more here…

Crock Pot Cranberry Turkey BreastCrock Pot Cranberry Turkey Breast

    ⭐TIPS

We leave the netting on the turkey breast when we cook it in the slow cooker. It helps the turkey breast keep its shape. This is a very moist recipe and it will fall apart, so if you want to slice it on a plate, I suggest leaving it on. Also, some turkey breast comes with a gravy packet; we didn’t use that in this recipe. I would suggest keeping it and serving the gravy over mashed potatoes.

    LET’S COMPLETE THE MEAL

For many years we had a non-traditional Thanksgiving. We served different dishes and everyone loved it. You don’t have to go the traditional route.

    Crock Pot Cranberry Turkey Breast

    Anne Walkup

This simple crock pot turkey breast is great for a few people. Only a handful of ingredients, super simple and great for the holidays eason.

    Course Main Course

    Cuisine American

    • 1 3 lb boneless turkey breast roast (we use Butterball)
    • 2 14 ounce Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce or Jellied Cranberry Sauce
    • 1 packet of dry onion soup mix
    • 1/4 cup of butter melted
    • Place your turkey breast (with the netting on) in the slow cooker and pour the melted butter over it.

    • Mix the dry onion mix and ONE can of cranberry sauce together and pour over the turkey breast.

    • Cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3 or until the turkey test done with your meat tester (should reach 165 degrees).

    • Once done, remove from gravy and take off netting. Slice and place on plate. Take the other can of cranberry sauce and spoon it over the turkey breast. You can put the gravy in gravy boat to pour over turkey if you like. (the gravy is great over mashed potataoes)

The turkey breast came with a gravy packet and we didn’t use it. It would probably be delicious over mashed potatoes.

    [ad_1]

This is the ultimate Christmas Fudge! Made with peppermint and white chocolate, this is a real treat.

    Peppermint Fudge

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

This peppermint fudge is an wonderful addition to your Christmas celebration. Not only is it festive for the holiday season it is also beautiful on the dessert table. If you like peppermint, you will love this delicious fudge. It’s easy  to make, only a few ingredients and is a wonderful gift too. We love to make gift bags for our neighbors each year, so we make a batch of this and each gift bag gets a few pieces. It’s always nice have a variety of sweet treats during the Christmas season.

    SWAPS

The food coloring in this recipe is entirely optional. We didn’t use it as it makes the fudge more pink. Instead of crushing candy canes, you can buy a bag of crushed peppermint at the store. It makes this much easier and it’s usually available during the holiday season.

    Peppermint Fudge Peppermint Fudge

    ⭐TIP

We left the food coloring out in this recipe to make the fudge whiter. If you want it to be more pink, add the food coloring. We love this fudge cold so we keep it in the refrigeratore.

    • Five Minute Fudge – This is a classic recipe you can use for any flavor of fudge.

This peppermint fudge is the perfect Christmas Treat! It’s only 5 ingredients and absolutely delicious!

    Prep Time 20 minutes

    2 hours

Total Time 2 hours 20 minutes

    Course candy

    Cuisine American, southern

    • 3 1/2 cups white chips I used Nestles Toll House Premier White Morsels
    • 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 1/2 cups finely crushed peppermint candy canes see notes
    • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
    • Couple drops red food coloring Optional
    • Line an 8 inch square dish with aluminum foil. Grease the foil with butter or margarine. Combine the chips and milk in a saucepan and melt on the stove on medium heat stirring often to keep from burning. Once melted remove from heat and stir in crushed candy canes and extract.

    • Pour into 8 x 8 dish.  If using the food coloring you can add along with the candy canes but I found it makes the fudge pink. I dipped a toothpick in the food coloring and kind of swirled it into the candy once it was in the dish. Put in refrigerator for about 1 1/2 hours or until fudge sets up and you can cut it with a knife.  Makes about 24 pieces.

I used 18 of the ones that are about 6 inches long. I don’t like chunks of the peppermint in my fudge. I crushed mine in my coffee grinder. You can also put in plastic bag and crush with rolling pin.
You can also buy 8 ounce bags of crushed peppermint during the holiday season and that makes this even easier.

    Prep Time 15 minutes

Cook Time 1 hour 30 minutes

Total Time 1 hour 45 minutes

    Course Main Course

    Cuisine American

    • 1 whole roasting chicken
    • 1 stick unsalted butter
    • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary or about 3 sprigs of fresh
    • 1 tablespoon dried thyme or 3 tablespoons fresh
    • 2 teaspoons onion powder
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons pepper
    • Melted butter for basting
    • Water to cover bottom of roasting pan
    • Wash your whole chicken and cut stick of butter into small pats with knife. Pull up the skin on the front of the chicken add 3 or 4 pats of butter under the skin. Add butter in crevices by each leg and each wing. Add some butter in the neck area.

    • Melt about 3 tablespoons butter and brush the outer side of the chicken. Sprinkle rosemary, thyme, onion powder, salt and pepper all over the chicken. You can use more or less of these spices as you like.

    • Add enough water to cover bottom of roasting pan and bake uncovered basting the chicken with melted butter at 30 and 60 minutes.

    Cuisine American

    • 1/2 cup oil I use Canola
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
    • 1/2 cup sour cream
    • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 cup pecan pieces

    Topping

    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    • In a large mixing bowl whisk together the oil, eggs, sugar, vanilla and sour cream. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and soda and mix well with a large spoon. Fold in pecans. In a smaller bowl mix the sugar and cinnamon for the topping. Batter will look like cake batter.

    • Drop by tablespoon full onto a very lightly sprayed cookie sheet. Sprinkle a pinch of the sugar and cinnamon topping on each cookie. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven 15 to 20 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen depending on the size you make the cookies.

These cookies make about 2.5 dozen, so I set the servings at 8 since most people have about 4 cookies.

    • 1 21 ounce can apple pie filling (I use Duncan Hines Original Country Apple Pie Filling)
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
    • 3 tablespoons butter melted
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 cup nut pieces Optional
    • In a large bowl whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add the vanilla extract, buttermilk, melted butter and eggs. Mix well with a spoon.

    • Spray a 12 cup muffin tin, add about 1/4 cup batter to each cup. Drop about 1 tablespoon of the apple pie filling into the batter. Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven 25 to 30 minutes until brown on top.

    • This recipe makes around 18 muffins.

You can make these with about any kind of pie filling. They keep well and easily reheat in the microwave. I refrigerate any leftover. We love the filling “oozing” out of the muffins. These Apple Pecan Squares are a simple dessert and perfect for just a few people. Add the caramel sauce for a real treat!

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We’ve received several requests for smaller desserts suitable for just a few people! This is the perfect recipe for just that! It’s made in an 8X8, and it’s a great way to enjoy apples. We added a little caramel sauce to the end product for a little extra sweetness. We love apple recipes and this one was also a winner. We werent sure what to name it, we thought about Apple Pecan Blondies but they aren’t the exact consistency of a blondie and it’s not exactly cake either. So squares it is!

    SWAPS

This is a very versatile recipe, you can switch out the spices to any that you like. If you prefer allspice, add it, don’t like nutmeg, simple leave it out. You could also use almond extract instead of vanilla. Also, we added a simple caramel sauce to the finished product but it’s not necessary. You could also add a basic powdered sugar glaze.

    Apple Pecan SquaresApple Pecan Squares

    ⭐TIP

If you don’t let them cool before slicing they will crumble a little. Also you can use any apples you like! We used Cosmic apples.

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We love holiday recipes and we love them even more when they are super easy! This is one of those and it’s delicious. It’s no bake, takes absolutely no time to put together. The longest part of the process is letting it chill in the fridge for an hour. I think the longer this is in the refrigerator the better it is!

    SWAPS & ADDITIONS

You can switch out the whipping cream with whole milk. You can switch out the pie filling, many people love this recipe with blueberry. If you are not a fan of angel food cake, you can make a white cake (with a mix) and cut it into squares. You could sprinkle coconut on top!

    QUESTIONS AND OTHER VARIATIONS

Yes, you can make this in advance. It’s better the next day. You can also make this with low-fat cream cheese, low-fat Cool Whip, and low-fat pie filling (or sugar-free).

Want to make this a display piece for your holiday? Make it in a trifle bowl and layer the angel food cake and the pie filling. You can also serve this in individual parfait glasses or cute holiday mugs.

This Amish Brown Sugar Dumpling recipe is one your family will love. It’s a wonderful dessert!

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

This recipe for Amish Brown Sugar Dumplings is adapted from a recipe in a very old Amish cookbook I’ve had for years. I have added a few ingredients and used a little less sugar. It’s delicious and a wonderful dessert. We love it topped with ice cream, but whipped cream would be great too.

    SWAPS & ADDITIONS

The Amish recipe I have does not call for the cinnamon, raisins, nuts or vanilla extract. Their recipes very often do not show exact measurements either. You can experiment with this and leave out what you don’t like, etc. The recipe above is the way I make it for my family. If you are not a fan of raisins, leave those out, too, or use craisins instead. Switch up the pecans for walnuts.

These cake mix donuts are topped with a delicious caramel frosting. These are so easy to make and a perfect way to start the day.

    Prep Time 15 minutes

    Total Time 27 minutes

    Course Breakfast

    Cuisine American, southern

    • 1 15.25 ounce package Betty Crocker Super Moist Yellow Cake Mix
    • 1 15 ounce can 100% pure pumpkin
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    • 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

    Caramel Frosting Ingredients:

    • 3/4 cup brown sugar
    • 4 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 3/4 to 1 cup powdered sugar
    • Pour the pumpkin mix into a large mixing bowl and add the spices.  Stir with a spoon to mix well.  Add yellow cake mix and stir until all ingredients are wet.  Spray a donut pan with cooking spray.  My pan makes 12 medium sized donuts.

    • Spoon the mixture into the donut pan or could use a piping bag.  I just used a spoon.  I filled each cup almost full.  Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 12 minutes.

    • Remove from oven and let cool in donut pan for 10 minutes before removing.  This made 18 donuts for me.  Add frosting.

    Caramel Frosting Instructions:

    • Combine brown sugar, butter and milk in a saucepan on top of the stove until melted and starts to boil.  Remove and add vanilla extract and powdered sugar.  Stir well.  Drizzle or pour over cooled donuts.

If frosting gets too thick just add more milk.  If too thin add more powdered sugar.

We love this Hamburger Potato Soup, it’s hearty, versatile, and delicious! Add our wonderful fried cornbread for a real treat. You can make this dish on top of the stove or in the crock pot. It would be perfect for tailgating or any cold-weather activity. This soup will keep for a few days and reheats really well.

If you want a creamy cheese that actually melts, it’s best to shred your own from a block of cheese. It’s significantly better and works great in this recipe!

  • Want a no bake dessert that takes minutes to put together?!?!

    [ad_1]

If you love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, you are going to love these little treats!

    ❤️WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

We love rice krispie treats, and these are made differently, but you still get the delicious marshmallow cream. It’s spread on top of the honey graham crackers that are mixed with peanut butter and powdered sugar. So good and so easy! These are perfect for any gathering, especially a small one, since they are made in an 8X8. Plus you can’t go wrong with a no bake treat!

    SWAPS

You could do a few swaps on this dish, you could use semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips or butterscotch. We added nuts on top; you can leave those off. We like the crunchy peanut butter, but I am sure the smooth would work as well. We haven’t tried this with almond butter, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.
