One teenager was killed and another was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday afternoon after a sledding accident in Frisco, police said.
Officers responded to the accident about 2:30 p.m. in the area of Majestic Gardens Drive and Killian Court, Frisco police said in a release.
Investigators determined that a 16-year-old boy was driving a Jeep Wrangler while pulling the two girls on a sled, which struck a curb and crashed into a tree, police said.
When Frisco police officers and firefighters arrived they found two 16-year-old girls with life-threatening injuries and began administering life-saving measures, police said.
The two girls were taken to a local hospital, where one died from her injuries, police said.
The other girl remains in critical condition, police said.
“The Frisco Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragic incident,” police said in the release. “Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.”
