  • Inside Simon Cowell’s house where his Netflix series The Next Act is filmed – at-home bar; huge garden; all-neutral theme

    [ad_1]

Simon Cowell has given fans a deeper insight to his personal life, as he shows off his huge house during Netflix’s The Next Act.

Two days ago (December 10) Simon Cowell made a return to his roots, as he began his search for the next big boyband, wanting to achieve the same success One Direction had.

But along with that, Simon also gave viewers a look at his at-home life with his fiance Lauren and their young son Eric.

Is The Next Act filmed at Simon Cowell’s house?

Simon Cowell’s Next Act series is filmed in various locations throughout the UK. But one of those places is his actual house.

The show is a mix between him looking for the next boyband, and also his personal life at home with fiance Lauren Silverman, and their son, Eric.

All six episodes released on Netflix on Wednesday (December 10) so eager fans may have already binged the entire thing. However, we won’t spoil the results for those who haven’t gotten around to watching yet.

    Simon Cowell London home

Back in 2021, Simon Cowell bought a house in the Cotswolds after wanting more privacy amid a few break-ins at his London home. However, he and his family didn’t actually move in until 2023 due to renovations.

And while he has kept his house private, The Next Act gives us some sneak peeks.

In an Instagram post a few months ago, Simon could be seen standing in front of a utility family room. It had a large, white floor-to-ceiling storage unit against the wall filled with colourful coats.

A room similar to this was seen again in the Netflix show, as Simon sat on a cream sofa in front of a huge door that leads out to an absolutely huge garden.

How big is Simon Cowell’s house?

Another room that was shown quite a lot was Simon’s kitchen. The huge room is full of all-white furniture. And it’s got a lovely clean look to it, with only a few bits of decorations on top of the counters.

The ceiling is designed with three hanging-down lights that sit over the kitchen island.

In another part of the show, everyone gathered in Simon’s living area. And from a far-out shot, we got to see more of the house. We could see that one room has two single sofa chairs, with an open wall that leads to the big sitting area.

On the wall hangs a huge TV, and in the middle is a table surrounded by four sofas in a square around it.

Another exit to that room actually leads out to what appears to be a bar. As Simon and Lauren were leaving, viewers could see a floor-to-ceiling wall of glasses and alcoholic bottles. Then, the other wall was full of images.

Does Simon have a house in LA?

Not only does Simon Cowell have a house in London, he also has a luxurious mansion in California – and this can be seen in The Next Act too.

It’s believed he bought the mansion back in 2017 for around $24million.

In The Next Act, Simon Cowell can even be seen racing his son, Eric, in the massive pool of his LA house.  Not only that, but Simon had created a tent on his property, down near the beach. That’s where he gathered with some music industry friends to get their opinions on the upcoming talent.

So, we went from not seeing much of the house of Simon Cowell to seeing quite a lot of it. The documentary really gave viewers quite an insight into his life – more than we have ever had.

And it’s safe to say, we are really impressed by his house. Although, we shouldn’t have expected anything less from the star!

  • Sad reason behind Simon Cowell’s changing look as star reveals truth about his cosmetic procedures

    [ad_1]

Simon Cowell’s looks have been under intense scrutiny in recent years – none more so than from the man himself, it seems.

In his most honest and open admission yet, 66-year-old Simon has divulged all on his love of cosmetic procedures, revealed what he’s really had done, and shared why he’s making some big changes…

Has Simon Cowell had Botox and filler?

In a recent interview with the Mail, Simon confirmed he has had work done — but denies ever having a facelift.

“I have heard certain things about how I’ve had a facelift. I haven’t. I’ve had Botox. I’ve had lasers and this and that. I look at myself sometimes and go: ‘Oh God, I look [bleep]. Sometimes I think I look okay. I’m more about is it real? I guess that authenticity was my main thing.”

He added in an interview with The Sun that he has had “thousands” of units of Botox over the years – but later admitted that he’s had his filler removed. “One day I saw a picture of myself and thought, oh God, I look like a real weirdo. So I had everything dissolved.”

Another factor in this decision was his son Eric, who he says went into “hysterics” over his filler use. “Enough was enough,” he said in a 2022 interview with The Sun. “There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero.” Simon has previously admitted looking at pictures and not liking his “puffy” appearance.

Simon on his more unusual treatments

Back in 2018, Simon admitted to having a £2,000 thread lift, which is a non-surgical procedure that involves sewing a thread into your face and then pulling it to tighten the skin.

“There’s lots of things you can do now. You don’t just have to stuff your face with filler and Botox,” he told the The Sun at the time. “It hurts like hell, but it gets rid of sun damage and unplugs all the [bleep].”

He also told The Sun that he has had a LINX band put in. Used for chronic acid reflux, a LINX band is a band with titanium beads and magnetic cores, according to the NHS. The band, which is placed just above the stomach, separates when you eat to allow food in, but the magnetic force holds the band together to prevent stomach acid from travelling up the oesophagus.

Most recently, however, Simon has hit headlines after sharing that he had a blood filtering treatment. “I go to this place, this wellness clinic, where they actually take your blood, they rinse it, they filter it and then they put it back into your body,” he told The Sun.

What does Simon Cowell eat in a day?

Simon, who has lost three stone, also revealed that he now eats less than 1,000 calories a day. He said that he previously had “the diet of a schoolboy”, with a dietician noting that it was the “worst diet he had ever seen”. As a result, Simon shared that he has cut out sugar, dairy, red meat and gluten.

He revealed that for breakfast, he has a “green, protein smoothie with some fruits, a lot of blueberries, porridge and tea”. Lunch is “half a hot cross bun”. He then eats dinner at around 4.30pm, fasting till he wakes up at 9.30am the next day.

In his new Netflix documentary, The Next Act, Simon announces that he’s going to have half a crumpet for lunch, prepared by his chef. Looking at parter Lauren’s plate of salad, he said: “This is how differently we eat.”

As he buttered his crumpet, he added: “I have to eat half of this now and the other half for dinner.” “I’m so sorry,” Laura sighs in response. “I’m so sad for you.”

Simon’s sad reason for his health kick

In 2020, Simon got very close to being paralysed after falling from his electric bike at home. He broke his back in three places. Speaking to Elizabeth Day on her How To Fail podcast, he admitted that he “could have died”, while his surgeon feared that he’d never walk again.

The incident led to Simon having a number of medical procedures. One included putting a metal rod up his back. “He showed me the X-ray and he said: ‘Look, I’m not going to lie, Simon, I don’t know if I can fix this, which means you probably won’t walk and secondly, the operation could take 11 hours,’” he said.

“They said the obvious – it could go wrong – and all I could think about was my family and everything. In that moment you kind of realise the most important thing is your health and don’t do stupid things.”

He described the recovery process as a “wake-up call”.

“It kind of happened for a reason because I thought I was fit but then when I had to do all the physio after, just walking, they make you walk very quickly, I pretty much couldn’t move and then I started to walk a lot and thought, oh God, I was in a really bad place,” he added.

As revealed in his documentary, Simon now follows a strict exercise regime as well as his diet, with reports that he does up to 600 push-ups per day.

“Honestly, if I could rewind, I would have gone through the whole thing again,” he concluded. “Just because I feel better now. Yeah, even though it hurt like hell at the time.”

  • Music Competition Show ‘Who’s In The Band’ In Works At ABC With Simon Cowell, Joe Jonas, Mel B & ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Star Rei Ami

    [ad_1]

EXCLUSIVE: ABC is putting work into finding the next big TV music competition series — and it has turned to a maestro of the genre to test a new format.

Deadline hears that the Disney-owned network has set Simon Cowell as a judge on a proof-of-concept taping of Who’s In The Band, a talent search for the next One Direction.

He will judge alongside a panel that includes Joe Jonas, Spice Girl Mel B (a frequent Cowell collaborator on America’s Got Talent and beyond), and songwriter Savan Kotecha. Rei Ami, who provided Zoey’s singing voice in Netflix sensation KPop Demon Hunters, is on hosting duties.

Who’s In The Band casting materials suggest it will contain a twist on the well-trodden genre, with singers performing the same song, at the same time, in different colored tubes.

The Who’s In The Band test shoot will take place on October 30 at Eastbrook Studios in London. Sources say the presentation will not air on ABC, and there is no series greenlight. It is believed to be part of the network’s plan to launch a new talent competition series as soon as this coming summer. ABC currently has veteran reality series American Idol — which made Cowell a household name in the US with its original incarnation on Fox — returning for a new season in early 2026.

Who’s In The Band hails from Yes Yes Media, the London and LA-based production company founded by Richard Bacon, the former television presenter turned format guru. The recording has generated a smattering of press in the UK, but Deadline is the first to reveal ABC’s involvement. The network declined to comment.

Cowell has never featured as a judge on an ABC reality series, sitting out of the network’s American Idol reboot. He did collaborate with ABC on American Inventor in 2006, but only as a producer. Cowell has remained a fixture on network TV as a judge and executive producer on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.

Yes Yes launched in 2023 with backers including Courteney Cox and Sister, producer of Black Doves. Deadline reported in July that the company was piloting BBC show, The Easiest Quiz Show in the World, with Strictly Come Dancing winner Chris McCausland.

Mark Sidaway, former The X Factor showrunner and Yes Yes Media’s head of entertainment, is involved in producing Who’s In The Band.

Music reality series focused on assembling a group have been around for years. Some notable examples include Popstars, Making the Band, and most recently, Netflix’s Building the Band.

Simon Cowell blasted as he presses red button for BGT 2024 semi-finalist Andrew Curphey: ‘Just not fair’

    [ad_1]

BGT 2024 fans were not too happy with Simon Cowell over his behaviour towards a semi-finalist.

The ITV show returned to screens for the fourth semi-final on Thursday (May 30). And one act hoping to impress the judges, and the nation, to bag a spot in the final was Andrew Curphey.

However, things took an awkward turn when Simon pressed the red buzzer – and fans were left up in arms about it.

Andrew, a drama teacher from Cheshire, put on a jaw-dropping performance at the start of the BGT 2023. Wearing a dazzling gold suit, he sang a medley of iconic disco tunes including I’m Still Standing and We Are Family.

But it didn’t take long for Simon to press his red buzzer halfway through. And it’s fair to say fans were left raging at their screens over his decision.

Rushing to X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Seriously Simon? NO NEED TO RED HIM!.”

Extremely rude of little Simon Coward to buzz

Someone else added: “Why put him through to the semi-final if you’re going to buzz him. It’s just not fair on the performers.” Another chimed in and agreed: “Well that was awkward.”

A fourth echoed their thoughts, and said: “Extremely rude of little Simon Coward to buzz anyone who has been put through by the judges!”

Simon says ‘the singing wasn’t great’

After his performance, Andrew heard what the judges thought. Simon explained: “Andrew, I really like you – as a game show host. Honestly, I’m not kidding! I think you would be brilliant, you’ve got a great personality, you’re really funny.”

I’m trying to be constructive! The singing wasn’t great

The audience then booed Simon’s comments, he went on: “I’m trying to be constructive! The singing wasn’t great.”

What did the other judges say?

Fellow judge Bruno Tonioli then cut in to stand up and tell Andrew his act was “big, loud and proud.” He added: “You know how to get a party started, you had everybody on their feet… so entertaining!”

Andrew’s performance went down a treat with Amanda Holden too.  She agreed and said: “You were a fantastic ball of energy to open the show

  • BGT viewers slam ‘creepy’ Bikoon act as Simon Cowell bemused in first semi-final: ‘Uncomfortable watching this’

BGT viewers slam ‘creepy’ Bikoon act as Simon Cowell bemused in first semi-final: ‘Uncomfortable watching this’

    [ad_1]

BGT viewers tonight (Monday May 27) had a very mixed reaction to Bikoon, leaving Simon Cowell bewildered.

The variety act had a memorable route to this week’s semi-finals, wowing fans during auditions with a magic bag routine.

But after the ‘secret’ behind the performance was revealed, some of those watching at home expressed concern – claiming the act was “creepy”.

Jokes were made about Bikoon being similar to Ant and Dec (Credit: ITV)

    BGT tonight: Bikoon news

At the end of tonight’s performance, with Simon the only judge not to have buzzed Bikoon off, it was revealed a shorter person was in the bag.

Some users on social media had speculated a young child may have been inside – or even a dog.

But when the second performer stepped out of the bag, fans seemed disappointed. There were even online ponderings about whether the ‘trick’ had been dangerous.

Simon however, who looked crestfallen after the reveal, didn’t seem to understand why Bikoon had exposed how their bag act.

    How viewers reacted

Amid complaints and speculation on social media about the safety implications of Bikoon’s performance, one person wrote on Instagram: “Uncomfortable watching this.”

Another claimed: “Gave me the creeps.”

    Gave me the creeps.

And a third moaned: “He got far too much airtime and I think it was cruel and dangerous to have somebody in a bag like that.”

    ‘Unbridled chaos’

And while Bikoon proved divisive with viewers, some people didn’t know what to make of the unconventional act.

“I’m lost for words. This is unbridled chaos with this bag,” one observer tweeted.

“It was still entertaining and at one point I was actually happy the bag went through the hoop. It was a good effort Bikoon! But the cat’s out of the bag (or rather the man) @BGT #BGT.”

Someone else chuckled: “Everyone talking about it being dangerous and the judges being disappointed about the person in the bag but like… what did you guys think was in the bag?”

Separately, and not in response, another user wrote: “I thought it was a dog in the bag.”

Others, however, knew they weren’t impressed.

“This was dreadful. How they put him through to this stage, is beyond me. Utter Nonsense,” fumed one viewer.

And another said: “Criminal that they got a semi-final place!”

The semi-finals will be as far as Bikoon get in 2024 on BGT. Boos could be heard from the live audience as Ant and Dec confirmed they would not be progressing to the next stage. Innocent Masuku and Ssaulabi Performance Troupe were voted through to Sunday’s final.

  • BGT viewers bewildered as Simon Cowell smashes his Golden Buzzer for Japanese act: ‘Not worthy’

BGT viewers bewildered as Simon Cowell smashes his Golden Buzzer for Japanese act: ‘Not worthy’

    [ad_1]

BGT viewers couldn’t believe what they were watching as judge Simon Cowell hit his Golden Buzzer button tonight (Saturday April 27).

Simon awarded the second bye to the final of the 2024 series so far, which is only three episodes in. Fellow judge Amanda Holden smashed her Buzzer last weekend to send singer Sydnie Christmas through to the last stage of the ITV talent show.

However, some social media users were peeved by the act Simon selected. Detractors claimed Japanese dance troupe CyberAgent Legit weren’t “worthy” of the Buzzer. And other fans of the programme felt another act should’ve been the recipients instead.

BGT Golden Buzzer: Simon Cowell’s pick goes to CyberAgent Legit

“Wait how did this dance act get the Golden Buzzer over the choir?! #BGT poor choice,” one incredulous fan asked, referring to Northants Sings Out.

“The choir was way better than that to me. It was good but not quite Golden Buzzer worthy #BGT,” asserted someone else.

“They should have given the choir earlier the Golden Buzzer over these dancers #BGT,” somebody else insisted.

Sorry what? They got the Golden Buzzer but the choir didn’t?

And a fourth confused onlooker tweeted: “Sorry what? They got the Golden Buzzer but the choir didn’t? Not a huge fan of choirs on this show but they deserved it #BGT.”

Meanwhile, some others watching at home weren’t happy that Simon had plumped for an act that wasn’t British.

One user raged: “#BGT Apparently Britain hasn’t got talent according to #SimonCowell giving the #GoldenBuzzer to a dance troupe from Japan #ITV jokers!”.

Another complained: “#BRITAIN’S got talent? Yet Golden Buzzer is from Japan that’s never been here before. It’s silly now.”

And a third chipped in: “#BGT #BritainsGotTalent, not watching this no more, it is more like Japan’s Got Talent. That dance group was good but we have seen it all before.”

‘So in sync with each other’

However, amid those slamming Simon’s decision, CyberAgent Legit won plenty of admiring comments from viewers who were impressed.

“This Japanese dance team rocked! They got Simon and the audiences to go crazy. The audiences begged for the GOLDEN BUZZER!!! #BGT #CyberAgentLegit,” one wowed observer wrote.

And another tweeted: “Congratulations to CyberAgent Legit for receiving Simon’s Golden Buzzer. So in sync with each other it was amazing #BGT.”

“Oh God, No”: Simon Cowell On His Son’s Dream of Becoming a Future Rock Star

    [ad_1]

As a parent, you want to encourage your child’s passions. It’s in your best interest that they’re happy, not only because they’re less likely to yell mean things at you through a closed bedroom door if they’re happy, but also because you love them and the unique, sparkly, special people they are, and the adult they’ll someday become.

Unless your child’s passion, as Simon Cowell’s 9-year-old son’s is, is playing the drums.

Cowell, who’s a judge on both America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent, told Entertainment Tonight Tuesday that son Eric also wanted to go into the music biz, a goal that the elder Cowell called “total torture.”

“He’s now decided he’s going to audition for Britain’s Got Talent,” Cowell said. “I think he wants to be in a rock band. He loves Green Day.”

“I mean, of all the things I’ve ever done, this will probably be the hardest, because he does play drums. [He’s] going to drum and sing! I went, ‘Oh God, no.’”

While a touch of nepotism could help Eric out, Simon also has a possible out to maintain both his eardrums and a modicum of work-life balance: You must be 18 years old to audition for Britain’s Got Talent, according to the application site. Younger auditioners can come if accompanied by a parent or guardian, but maybe Dad Cowell is…busy? That day? You have to admit, it’s a good way to buy time.

Despite his dad urging him to stay behind the camera rather than in front of it, Simon said Eric is “really serious” about auditioning someday. And, should that eventuality come to pass, he said that he doesn’t think his dad’s role on the show will make Eric’s chances harder.

“I don’t think so, no,” he said. “I think that if you’ve got, like myself, I have a very open mind…Like I said tonight, everything is subjective, we all like different things and he’s got his own opinion on things and he’s got his own mind and I’ve always encouraged that with him, which is if you like something and I don’t like something, that’s life. So hopefully, he’ll be sitting there in 10 or less years time.”

“I’ve got a good idea of what he’s going to be when he’s older, I think, which is a really cool thing,” Cowell added. “He’s got his own opinion. He’s his own man, which is really, really important. Yeah, he’s a sweetheart.”
