AW: Congratulations on “Unsure!” How did you decide to team up with Kylie Cantrallon this song? Thank you! It’s actually a fun story, it happened on TikTok! Over the last few weeks, I’ve been playing around with remixing various sounds from TikTok when I came across a video that became the basis for the song now called “Unsure.” When I posted the instrumental to find someone to do the vocals, Kylie jumped on it! She has an absolutely fantastic voice, so the choice was easy! PD: You debuted the single at your LIV Las Vegas show…What’s going through your mind when you play a song for the first time in a crowd? AW: It’s always a bit scary to play a song for the first time, especially when no one has heard it before! But it went well, and fortunately, there was a great vibe!
PD: The music video takes place in Walkerworld. What was it like creating an immersive theme park on Fortnite? AW: Haha, it was a journey! I really love gaming, so when we decided to go all in on creating our own map, it was a dream come true. At the same time, we learned a lotfrom the first release, and I’m looking forward to the next!
PD: You’ve had prolific career so far with hit songs like “Faded” and “Alone”…howwould you say your style has evolved over the years? AW: My musical style has evolved through everything from experiences to sources of inspiration and collaborators. I enjoy jumping between genres and am not afraid to try new things. Actually, Unsure is more like the original “AW” style & so I’m eager to see the response!
PD: How does your production process differ from when you remix popular artists’ songs like Coldplay and Bruno Mars versus an original song like “Unsure?” AW: All songs have different processes, so it’ s not necessarily about remixes or original tracks. But one thing that is naturally very different is that I work closely with a vocalist, and in this case, Kylie. It’s incredible to be in the process where we find thevocalist – and everything just suddenly clicks! PD: What sort of songs do you like to remix? AW: Songs with great melodies! PD: With three singles under your belt this year, can fans expect a new album on the horizon? AW: Yees!
The Kylie Cantrall Interview
PD: Kylie, how can you describe this collaboration from your perspective?
KC: I think there’s nothing cooler than being able to use social media as a tool to connectand collaborate with people from all over the world, and that’s especially true in thisscenario. If it wasn’t for TikTok, I wouldn’t have stumbled upon Alan’s “Unsure” remix that I duetted which ultimately led to us releasing the song together. It happened quite out of the blue, but I’m so incredibly grateful that Alan gave me this opportunity. A duo we never knew we needed! PD: You’ve made a return to music recently after a short break from releasing, what inspired this return?
KC: I’m always writing and recording music, but I know I can’t release anything new if I’min the middle of an acting project because I won’t have the time to focus my energy oncreating content that helps the promotion. So, that’s been the juggling act lately butI’m happy I have an open window right now that I can focus on putting new music out into the world. PD: Tell us more about the process of creating ‘Boo’d Up’?
KC: Well, “Boo’d Up” is a cover song that I’ve loved for years. So, when my label said, “We really feel strongly about you adding a cover song to your upcoming album”, I immediately ran to the studio and began creating my own version of the record, and “Boo’d Up” became my latest single! PD: If you could work with any other artist on your next collaboration, who would it be and why?
KC: I’d love to collaborate with Rema! My dad and I play the Rave & Roses album almost every time we’re in the car. He’s a melodic genius and seriously has one of the most incredible voices ever. PD: You’re also an actress, do you find there’s any similarities in the process of doing both things?
KC: I really love the performance aspect of both acting and singing. I feel my most confident when I’m performing, whether I’m playing a character like the daughter of the Queen of Hearts or performing my own song in a music video, it’s so fun getting to tap into the bigger than life version of myself!

PD: Congratulations on “Animal” with Jason Derulo! This is your fourth collaboration together…how did you two start working together?
Jason and I have had a great run with remixes over the last six years, starting with “Goodbye” with David Guetta and Nicki Minaj. Our musical styles complement each other well, so we followed up with my remix of “Take You Dancing.” Since then, we’ve been trying to find the right record.
PD: “Animal” is the first new record you two have done together. How did you two end up making the record?
We tossed ideas back and forth for a long time until we landed on “Animal.” We instantly felt this song would be a perfect match for Jason’s pop style and my dance production.
PD: You’ve performed at some major festivals like Coachella and Tomorrowland. What are your favorite tracks to perform live?
I love to play unreleased music, there’s a special feeling about bringing a record fresh off the press after a long studio session and seeing the crowd react to it. Contrasting the new energy, I always enjoy including some R3HAB classics like “Karate”, “Flashlight” or “Tiger”.
PD: You’ve been massively successful in your remixes…with official mixes for Rihanna, Drake, Taylor Swift, and more. What’s your production process like when going into a remix?
Every song tells a different story and as a remixer my goal is to find a new way to tell it without ruining it (laughs). My production process relies on a selection of sounds from the original record and landing on the first idea, which is fundamental for the remix. I always make sure there’s a R3HAB electronic element attached to it.
PD: What’s one song you’d like to remix next or a collaboration you’d like to do?
I’ve been loving late 1990s / early 2000s records, and have a lot of fun incorporating them into current sonic ideas. Records like “All Around The World” and “Rock My Body” fit this concept. I love the way fans of the original song get to feel some nostalgia while making new memories.
PD: What’s next for you this year?
Festival season has just begun and I’m really hyped for the summer shows around the corner. I’ve been working on a lot of new music and can’t wait to share it in the coming months. Stay tuned!
Singer Sia’s face used to be a mystery, consistently hidden by wigs and oversized bows during her public appearances. Now, she doesn’t typically hide her visage, but admitted in a tweet that she feels insecure about her appearance and that she recently underwent a cosmetic liposuction procedure.
In a tweet on Saturday, the singer explained that a medication had caused her to put on “a lot of weight that I just can’t shift with exercise or thyroid meds so I went in for lipo today.”

In addition to her disclosure, she offered commentary on her privilege and her reasons for going under the knife.
“Please know that I am so lucky to have the resources to change the way I look and that when you see me looking crazy foxy again that I want you to know it did not come from diet and exercise,” she continued. “I want to be truthful about all of my procedures so I don’t contribute to the system that tells us we aren’t enough. I am insecure like most people and being in the public eye gives me anxiety, so I’ve made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues. Pray for me please! I love you, keep going!”
The Australian singer-songwriter, 47, didn’t share details about what parts of her body she’d altered. This isn’t the first time she’s disclosed details about her insecurities and the steps she’s taken because of them, either: In 2021, in an interview with Gabor Mate, she said that she’d undergone liposuction twice to try and remove what she saw as a double chin.
“It turned out to be muscles that I use to sing,” she said. She also said that she’d had lipo on her stomach and “it went wrong.”
“It looks like someone threw a hammer into my guts,” she said in the same interview. “I harmed myself…it’s so brutal, and I did that to myself because I’m insecure. I’m stopping doing anything, I’m not doing anything—I don’t know, maybe I will.”
Sia has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards. In 2013, in an “anti-fame manifesto” in Billboard, she wrote about her desire for anonymity and a private life.
“If anyone besides famous people knew what it was like to be a famous person, they would never want to be famous,” she wrote. “Imagine the stereotypical highly opinionated, completely uninformed mother-in-law character and apply it to every teenager with a computer in the entire world. Then add in all bored people, as well as people whose job it is to report on celebrities. Then, picture that creature, that force, criticizing you for an hour straight once a day, every day, day after day.”
Representatives for Sia did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Sia is getting candid about experiencing extreme lows amid a gut-wrenching divorce. The songstress split from her first husband, Erik Anders Lang, in 2016 after two years of marriage.
“I got divorced and that really threw me for a loop,” she says in a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1. “There was such a dark time that I was in bed for three years, really, really severely depressed. And so I couldn’t really do anything for that period of time.”
The 47-year-old artist is gearing up for the release of her upcoming album, Reasonable Woman, her first full-length offering in eight years. In her new interview, she shares that it’s comprised of songs she’s been writing “here and there” over the “last six, seven years.”
“Finally, it just turned out we had enough songs to make an album, enough good ones,” she continues. “I just rely on my management to tell me when we’ve got enough good ones, because I don’t really… I can tell when I think one is particularly good, I think I can tell, but they tell me when we’ve got 11 or 12 or 13 enough good ones, real good ones.”

Reasonable Woman is set to be released in Spring 2024, but for now, Sia is giving fans a taste of what to expect by dropping a new single, “Gimme Love.” In the cover art, she appears to be snuggling with baby pigs while putting her “don’t think” hand tattoo on display. It’s her first new song since 2021.
“You don’t wanna dance with me / But, babe, that’s what I need / Please now, just this once / Dance, babe, dance, baby,” she sings on the Jesse Shatkin-produced track. “You don’t wanna sing with me / But, babe, that’s what I need / Please, now, just this once.”
On the chorus, she repeats, “I don’t ask for much / Gimme love, gimme love, gimme love, baby.”
The second verse, she doubles down: “You don’t wanna fight for me / But, babe, that’s what I need / Please now, just this once.”
Sia, whose real name is Sia Furler, has found love again in recent years, as she quietly remarried in an intimate Italian ceremony with Dan Bernard in May. The Australian-born superstar and her beau reportedly invited less than a handful of guests to the event, with only six attendees present including the bride and groom.
The “Unstoppable” singer has kept her personal life closely guarded and it’s unclear exactly how long she and Bernard have been an item. The couple was photographed, wearing masks over their faces, at the Los Angeles premiere of West Side Story at the El Capitan Theatre in December 2021.

In a May interview, around the time of her wedding, Sia did open up about a personal struggle as she learned that she is on the Autism spectrum.
“I’m on the spectrum and I’m in recovery. There’s a lot of things,” Sia told Survivorfinalist Carolyn Wiger during an appearance on Rob Has a Podcast. Carolyn — who quickly became a Survivor fan favorite by being open about her social anxieties and her struggles with addiction — came in third on the show, but got a consolation prize from the star in the form of $100,000. “Being in recovery and also knowing about which neuroatypicality you may have or may not have, I think one of the greatest things is nobody can ever know you and love you when you’re filled with secrets and living in shame.”
Sia, a Survivor superfan, seemed to suggest that her autism spectrum diagnosis came rather recently, telling Carolyn, “For 45 years I was like, ‘I’ve got to go put my human suit on.’ Only in the last two years have I become fully, fully myself.”
Sia added, “I just wanted to say how inspiring it is to have someone in the world who is going out and didn’t put her human suit on, who just showed up and was willing to be rejected, and willing to be the weird one. The kook in me recognizes the kook in you.”
Sia’s autism spectrum reveal came more than two years after the singer received backlash for casting Maddie Ziegler, who’s neurotypical, as an autistic teen in her film, Music.

Sia has gained notoriety for her on-stage persona, which almost always includes an oversized wig that hides her face. In her new interview with Lowe, she explains why she may be ready to let the disguise go.
“When I got sober is when I put the wig on my face and that’s when I had in-ears and wig and I’m just like, ‘It’s like I’m in a little bubble with myself,’” she shares. “But now that I know that that’s what’s going on, I think maybe one day I’ll do a show with my face out again and have little fun talking to the audience and being heckled and getting present again because those shows were really fun back in the day before I had the wig on.”
I moved to the New York City area last August, and one of the first venues I heard of was the elusive Brooklyn Mirage. It’s a live music venue located in the heart of Brooklyn, New York where any DJ whose anybody plays night after night in the summer. It draws huge crowds, fans of EDM and people who just like dance music come together in this courtyard-esque venue.
So when I finally got the chance to go see the legendary David Guetta, who has won two Grammy awards and been gracing us with our favorite radio hits for decades now, I couldn’t pass it up. Whether I knew it or not, I had been listening to David Guetta’s music for years. Hits like “Who’s That Chick (feat. Rihanna)”, “Titanium (feat. Sia)”, and “I’m Good (Blue) (feat. Bebe Rexha)” are chart-dominating tracks that Guetta has released.
There’s nothing like watching someone who has made such an impact on the music industry and world of EDM. I’ve frequented a few EDM shows in my time, so I knew the energy would be high. But I was curious to experience a show by such a legend and witness how the crowd would respond to songs they grew up listening to versus new remixes and original beats.
What I find unique about EDM shows is the range in which the show can possess. You can switch up vibes from upbeat to slow in less than one minute, you can control the crowd’s energy through beats alone. You can do cover after cover, remix after remix, and it can be different each time.
Which is exactly how David Guetta’s show was. He opened strong, with his classic, “Titanium” and most recent hit “I’m Good (Blue)”, which has topped charts and was nominated for a Grammy this year. It’s probably the most-played song at clubs and bars near you. And it’s a great way to get the crowd moving early on. Especially when it’s your song.
It can be hard to capture the audience’s attention when you’re not out there fully able to talk to the crowd and stop the sound whenever you want. However, David Guetta had no problem. With a laser light show spanning across the Mirage and enough graphics to sync up with every beat, there wasn’t a shortage of things to look at and enrapture you.
From my view over the crowd, I was able to see that the place was filled to the brim. Sure, that made getting drinks a bit of a hassle. (It’s a cashless and cardless event, anyway. You sync your card to your wristband before entering the event itself — and I wouldn’t expect anything less from one of NYC’s hottest venues.) But no one seemed to mind once the music started.
He played a crazy range of his catalog. He had old hits like “Where Them Girls At (feat. Flo Rida)” and “Hey Mama (feat. Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha, and Afrojack)” that everyone could sing along to. But that wasn’t all, original mixes, remixes of classic songs and trending club hits, and mixes of older hits like Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.”
It’s a show that you don’t want to miss if you have the opportunity. David Guetta has made a plethora of our favorite tracks, and his impact on the music industry isn’t underrated. He’s an icon for a reason, and his live shows prove just that.
Despite the large number of people dancing along in the GA section, it didn’t matter if there were 100,000 people. They just cared about the music.
Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Tata Sons on Tuesday announced the merger of Air India and Vistara, which is expected to be completed by March 2024. Vistara is a joint venture between Tata Sons and SIA. The airline was established in 2013 and is India’s leading full-service carrier with international operations in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.
SIA holds a 49 per cent stake in Vistara, while the rest 51 per cent is with Tata. Tata wholly owns Air India, which includes the low-cost carriers Air India Express and AirAsia India.
Tata Group acquired Air India from the government in January this year. Ever since the acquisition, there had been talks of a merger between Air India and Vistara. Today, SIA and Tata Group announced that Air India and Vistara would be merged by March 2024.
In a detailed note, the SIA explained what both airlines offer each other and how the merger will help the group establish India’s largest international carrier. It said that the combination of Air India and Vistara will bring significant synergies as the former has valuable slots and air traffic rights while the latter has operational capabilities and a customer base.
“Air India has valuable slots and air traffic rights at domestic and international airports that are not available to Vistara. With Vistara widely recognised as India’s leading full-service carrier, Air India will benefit from its operational capabilities, customer base, and a strong focus on customer service and product excellence,” SIA said.
SIA said that Air India (including Air India Express and AirAsia India) and Vistara have a total of 218 wide-bodies and narrowbody aircraft, serving 38 international and 52 domestic destinations.
With the integration, it said, Air India will be the only Indian airline group to operate both full-service and low-cost passenger services. “It can optimise its route network and resource utilisation, be flexible and agile in capturing demand across market segments, and tap on a larger consumer base to strengthen its loyalty programme,” the SIA said.
As part of the merger, the SIA will invest Rs 2,059 crore in Air India. Post the consolidation, it will hold 25.1 per cent shareholding in Air India.
Tata Sons chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran said the merger of Vistara and Air India was an important milestone in our journey to make Air India a truly world-class airline. He said his group is transforming Air India, with the aim of providing a great customer experience, every time, for every customer.
As part of the transformation, Air India is focusing on growing both its network and fleet, revamping its customer proposition, and enhancing safety, reliability, and on-time performance, Chandrasekaran added.
“We are excited with the opportunity of creating a strong Air India which would offer both full-service and low-cost services across domestic and international routes. We would like to thank Singapore Airlines for their continued partnership,” he added.
Currently, Vistara has a fleet of 53 aircraft, including 41 Airbus A320, five Airbus A321neo, five Boeing 737-800NG and two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The airline has flown more than 35 million customers since starting operations.

With your latest release “amnesia” you get very personal – how has it been sharing your music with the world and being really vulnerable?
It’s honestly something that has always come pretty natural to me, for better or for worse. I think part of me just likes to feel “seen” and understood when it comes to my emotions.
What I really love about where I’m at now is that me being vulnerable is creating a community of people that now get to also feel understood when they listen to the songs because they’ve gone through similar things, and THAT… is why I do this.
Can you tell me more about the writing process for “amnesia” – was this a quick one or did it take a while to come together?
“amnesia” was by far the longest I’ve ever worked on a song. It started over Zoom in March of 2021 with two incredible writers/producers that I’ve looked up to for a very long time, Steven Solomon and Neil Ormandy. I remember leaving that Zoom session knowing it was special, but it took a little while for everyone else to feel that in the same way.
The Zoom only took 3-4 hours, but I did about 11 different production versions of the song over the next year and a half just refusing to give up on it. Ultimately, the last version connected on TikTok, then Steve did his magic and finished the production right before the end of September.
As a producer and songwriter – what comes first for you in the process? Is it the music or the lyrics?
Always the song and the lyrics. I think that’s partly because of the style of music I make for my project. But the goal is always to write a song that can be produced 20 different ways and still feel special.
I’m also a big believer that the production should serve the song and the emotion in the song, so going backwards has rarely been the move for me.
In 2020 you broke through on TikTok – often we see artists either lean into the “social media” lane or try to separate themselves from it. How are you navigating taking your career from TikTok and onto the stage? Do you see TikTok remaining a part of your music going forward?
I think whether I want it to be or not, TikTok is going to play a pretty big role in my career and in most people’s careers going forward.
Truthfully, I’ve never cared about the “stigma” of being a “TikTok Artist”. Because at the end of the day, I think people can see through the surface level stuff and over time they truly connect with the artists that are truly being honest to themselves and to the art.
What’s the best advice you’ve been given since starting your journey into music?
To bet on myself. Someone I’ve looked up to since I was 15 recently gave me some advice and it was to trust myself both musically, in a business sense, and in every other way you can imagine.
I’ve been guilty of this in the past, and I know a ton of people can relate, where you feel like you “know what you need to do.” But you don’t do it because you’re getting advice from 30 different voices. And that’s not to say “don’t take advice,” but more so when you have a gut feeling about something, let it guide you.
What song have you had on repeat lately?
“Lose It All” by Sam Tompkins has been in my brain constantly for weeks. Tons of people will ask me “what song gives you ‘song envy’, what song do you wish you wrote,” and right now my answer is definitely that one.
Who is your dream collaborator and why?
It’s gotta be Ed Sheeran. I was the kid that fell in love with those first couple albums, bought the little Martin Guitar, and spent my high school years trying to reverse engineer a way to write songs that would make me feel the way his did. Getting to pick his brain would be a dream.
What can your fans expect next from you? – Tour / album / any new collabs?
Right now, I literally have a folder of like 30 songs, and those are just the “favorites.” I don’t know exactly what it’s going to look like officially. But I do know that those songs tell a story. So for 2023 I think you can expect a ton of new music, and you can expect me to be a bit more of a storyteller.
