  • Gear News of the Week: Matter 1.5 Adds Smart Home Camera Support, and Gemini Comes to Android Auto

    [ad_1]

The promise of interoperability for your smart home gadgets that Matter was supposed to bring has been a slow process, but it is starting to deliver, and the addition of cameras in the 1.5 release may be its biggest win yet. The Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) says the latest release supports all kinds of cameras, so we’re talking indoor security cameras, outdoor security cameras, video doorbells, baby monitors, and pet cameras.

This could vastly improve a seriously fractured landscape, enabling you to easily add and access your cameras on whatever platform you choose. It’s also something that can potentially be delivered in a software update, so some of the cameras you already own might get Matter support.

You may be worrying about limitations, but the supported feature list is impressive, including video and audio streaming, two-way communication, local and remote access, multiple streams, pan-tilt-zoom controls, and both detection and privacy zones. There’s also support for continuous or event-based recording, either locally or to the cloud. What it won’t handle is how that storage is managed, meaning some camera manufacturers will still require you to use their cloud-based subscription models.

Pleasingly, there are no limitations on resolution, unlike Apple HomeKit Secure Video, or restrictions on AI detection features. Matter is using WebRTC technology, with remote access handled via the STUN and TURN protocols, meaning that manufacturers can choose to implement end-to-end encryption for footage. TCP transport support is designed to allow more efficient and reliable transmission of lots of data, like video cameras produce, which should reduce the load on your Wi-Fi and the impact on camera battery life.

While this is very exciting news and the potential backwards compatibility is laudable, there’s no telling when you’ll see it in a camera in your home. The big trio: Apple, Amazon, and Google have yet to announce any plans to adopt Matter in their cameras.

Matter 1.5 isn’t just about cameras, though—it also revamps support for closures, from garage doors to smart window shades, allowing for different motion types and configurations. There’s soil sensor support, too, to measure moisture and temperature and potentially trigger Matter-based water valves and irrigation systems.

Enhanced energy management features are the final addition. Matter 1.5 enables devices to exchange data on energy pricing, tariffs, and grid operation, enabling you to potentially get a picture of the true cost of your gadgets in energy usage, cost, and carbon impact. EV charging has also been bolstered, with state-of-charge reporting and bi-directional charging that could enable vehicle-to-grid schemes in the future.

While the Matter 1.5 spec is now available, it will take developers a while to adopt it and get their devices certified by the CSA. Expect some announcements at CES 2026. —Simon Hill

Google’s Gemini Rolls Out on Android Auto

Google has been gradually replacing its long-lived Google Assistant with the souped-up Gemini AI chatbot on all its platforms for the past year. After deploying it on its Wear OS smartwatches and, more recently, adding it directly to Google Maps, the company is bringing it to Android Auto. Google says the rollout will take place over the coming months for any Android Auto users who have upgraded from Google Assistant to Gemini on their phones.

  • These Beats Headphones Are Marked Down to $150 for Black Friday

    [ad_1]

Say what you will about Beats fans, but at least they know what they like. These headsets and earbuds are instantly recognizable for their slick styling and bass forward sound profile. If that sounds like your speed, the Beats Studio Pro are currently marked down as low as $150 Amazon, depending on your color preference. I spotted them at the lower price in matte white, sand gray, and dune, with a slightly higher $170 price tag for the remaining colors, though your availability may vary.

    Courtesy of Beats

While the Studio Pro lack some of the Apple-exclusive features you get with AirPods, for example, the upside is that they’re much more friendly with Android devices. Both platforms get access to one-touch pairing and the helpful Beats app, while iPhone owners also get the benefits of Hey Siri and Find My Device. The other features are a bit of a mixed bag, with a decent battery life of up to 24 hours with ANC on, or 40 with ANC off, but no auto pause when you take them off, or multi-point pairing beyond Google’s Chromebook and Android option.

Like most headphones from Beats, the sound profile is decidedly bass-forward, but Apple’s ownership has tempered that tendency over the last few years. As a result, this generation is more balanced than previous eras, with our reviewer Ryan Waniata complimenting the expansive sound stage and sharp details. Unfortunately, most Beats headsets don’t have any equalizer, and the Studio Pro are no different. For better or worse, you’re stuck with how they sound coming out of the box. These at least support high-resolution audio, up to 24-bit/48-kHz, but only in the wired USB-C mode.

For the Beats enthusiast looking for an upgrade or a second headset for the gym, these are a solid option at a deeply discounted price. They lack some of the richer and more advanced features found on more expensive headsets, but that may be the right compromise for some folks who just want something simple that works every time. If you’re not sure you can stand the bass, make sure to check out all of our favorite wireless headsets.

  • The Best WIRED-Tested Nut Milk Makers, for Everything From Almonds to Oats

    [ad_1]

When Andrew Watman tested, he made three types of milk with each. For almond milk he used unroasted, unsalted almonds. For cashew, he used unroasted, unsalted cashews. For macadamia, he used dry roasted, unsalted macadamia nuts. I used old-fashioned rolled oats, unsalted raw almonds, and unsweetened coconut shreds.

For the machines, we looked for a well-engineered products that will last a long time, as well as ergonomic and intuitive design. Many of these required the machine’s parts to be separated and cleaned thoroughly, especially because the mushy plant matter can have a tendency to stick. Any machine that had a thoughtful design with cleaning was rated higher.

I also considered the length of time it took to produce the milk, as well as the simplicity of using the product (and ease of cleaning it). We also examined the taste and smoothness, comparing it to each other and store-bought milks. I also added additional sweeteners like agave, dates, and lavender simple syrup to see how the flavors changed with each machine.

These freshly made plant-and nut-based milks are all going to have a shorter shelf life than plant milks you buy at the store (typically about five days) because of the lack of added preservatives. We looked for machines that weren’t just blenders, but specifically curated for making the best plant milk possible.

  • How to wear culottes in winter, according to a fashion writer

    [ad_1]

We’ll show you how to wear culottes in winter, but first: a history lesson.

Did you know the history of culottes is linked to class struggle and female liberation? What we know today as a swishy, skirt-like, cropped trouser actually has quite a nebulous definition, as it’s been used to describe different garments over time. From the late Middle Ages until the early 1800s, culottes were the knee breeches worn by men from the European aristocracy and upper classes. They were so associated with money that, at the time of the French Revolution, revolutionaries of the lower classes were known as “sans-culottes” due to their long trousers. But, if you’re reading this, you’re probably more interested in the feminist history of the garment.

During the Victorian era, split skirts came into use for women for the purpose of horseback riding. (Since trousers for women up until this point were quite scandalous, and in some instances, illegal!) Quite literally skirts split in half, their legs were made up of flowing fabric, a precursor to today’s culottes. The point was that it looked like a skirt, but allowed women more flexibility of movement, particularly when sitting on horseback. The garment was adapted for other activities like cycling, gardening and cleaning, but was not yet mainstream.

In the 1910s, the jupe-culotte (literally meaning skirt-pant in French) was associated with women’s suffrage. In 1911, the doctor and feminist Madeleine Pelletier was quoted in a Vogue article titled The Distracting Jupe-Culotte saying: “Liberty of movement is conducive to liberty of thought.” We also can’t leave out the contribution of Paul Poiret: while his harem pants are slightly different to the culottes we know today, it was one of the first times women in Europe wore trousers as a fashionable garment. Trousers for women also became a bit of a necessity due to the First World War, when women filled the gap in the workforce left by conscripted men.

Then, in the ’20s, the hedonistic flapper mood brought with it a relatively more free attitude to fashion and gender, so it only made sense that culottes grew in popularity as a fashionable garment. Fashion designer Coco Chanel was particularly fond of them, often wearing flowy trousers known as “beach pyjamas” from the late 1910s. Elsa Schiaparelli, another seminal fashion designer of the era, dressed tennis player Lilí Álvarez in culottes in 1931 for Wimbledon, which caused some pearl-clutching at the time.

As the decades progressed, trousers for women became less of a shock and more a normal part of the female wardrobe – due to factors like wartime pragmatism in the 40s and the cultural revolution of the 60s. Fast forward to today, where culottes on women would not raise an eyebrow in the slightest. (Perhaps they’re even something your mum or grandma might wear!)

Culottes are a great way to add movement to your outfit, while being just as practical as traditional trousers – makes sense, considering their history. So, how to wear culottes in winter? As Chanel showed us 100 years ago, they look great in the summer on the French Riviera – but rest assured that they can be styled for the colder months, too.

    SKIP TO:

Ahead, how to wear culottes in winter.

If you’re someone who doesn’t want even a sliver of flesh exposed to the elements in winter (and we don’t blame you) we’d recommend a pair of tights underneath the trousers to offer you some extra protection. Black, opaque, high denier tights are a classic, but you can do better than that. One of the stand-out trends of this year and expected to get even more popular: colourful tights.

Watch Your Favorites and New Peacock TV Releases This Month

There is a wide breadth of new content coming to Peacock in November, including the cult favorite Peacock original adaptation of the classic original, Bel-Air, for Season 4. Plus, the first six films of the classic Jurassic saga are already streaming on Peacock, making this the perfect time to catch up before the new installment, Rebirth, comes out.

One of the best things to do during the holiday season is to put on a nostalgic movie that is good for the whole family, like the Harry Potter series. On Peacock, you can binge the entire Harry Potter saga in the background while dozing off and sneaking into the kitchen for seconds (or thirds).

If you’re like me and love to just absolutely turn your brain off (I’m talking no neuron flare ups would be detected in an MRI) and watch reality TV, let me introduce you to the wonderful world of Love Island. If you love watching Instagram models go from room to room to pool to gym and back again in a long-form version of a game of Telephone, this is the show for you. • 27 Gift Ideas for Men, From the Best Grooming Tools to High-Tech Gadgets

    [ad_1]

Photographed by Rihanna, creative partner: Jeff Henrikson. Styled by Matthew Henson

We may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article.

Shopping for men is the emotional equivalent of assembling Ikea furniture—it seems simple, until you’re three hours in and questioning all your life choices. What do you get the man who has everything, or worse, the one you just started dating and don’t want to terrify with a gift that whispers joint tax return? They say men are simple beings, but anyone who’s tried shopping for one knows that’s a cruel lie wrapped in flannel. Let’s be honest, most men would rather receive something that can’t be wrapped, plugged in, or monogrammed (but let’s keep it PG here). The secret is finding that sweet spot: an elevated or emotional gift that feels thoughtful but effortless, a little luxurious, and maybe even makes his life easier—or at the very least, a bit more interesting. Below, peruse our curated picks that will make him feel seen, admired, and just the right amount of spoiled this season.

Brunello Cucinelli’s Incanti Poetici perfume collection is all about the emotional power of poetry—so why not gift that feeling to your guy in the form of scent? With Soffio Zenit (one of six fragrances in the collection), the poem “Un Desiderio” by Giannina Milli is reflected in lavender, rosemary, and bergamot from Calabria. Touches of fig lend just enough sweetness to make this one of our favorites for fall/winter.

Teach him the meaning of haute couture skincare with this thoughtful holiday splurge. Sisleÿum’s gel-cream is a high-performance formula crafted for the distinct chemistry of men’s skin, which is naturally more acidic, oil-prone, and often challenged by shaving. Powered by shea butter and a trace of amber, this product calms, firms, and refines for a clean, matte finish.

For the man who takes his game nights seriously, this set is as fun as it is luxurious. Encased in embossed Dior leather with six colorful chips engraved with Mr. Dior’s lucky star, the poker set screams lucky chances and a sense of boldness, all telegraphed through playful pops of color.

Elevate his lounge game and give him the gift of comfort. You can’t get more luxe than Frette, folks—this brand is the world-class authority in terms of fine linens and sleepwear. The 100 percent cashmere Ambassador Robe is impeccable comfort and softness personified.

The cult of Le Labo needs no introduction. Men seem to gravitate toward the brand’s repertoire of scents, probably because nothing smells this effortlessly impressive. The limited-edition set from the Classic Collection works beautifully on its own or as a luxe bonus, letting him explore new favorites while indulging in the ones he already knows and loves.

Louis Vuitton’s magnetic credit card holder proves that practicality can be wildly attractive. Available in army green or jet black colorways, this is minimalism with a pulse (we think of it as masculine, polished, and just the right amount of an understated designer flex). Crafted in the Maison’s signature coated canvas and finished with discreet MagSafe technology, the sleek sleeve keeps his cards secure, even when he isn’t.

He will use it and look better for it. This skincare set is the sleek on-ramp from “splash of water” to skincare sophistication. Crafted for men’s skin and infused with soothing fireweed and fermented probiotics, this four-step ritual (yes, even an eye cream) turns basic upkeep into a daily act of elevated habit.

Give him something he’ll actually wear often. This Western-inspired suede shirt is one we found quietly irresistible, with a rich Caribou hue that complements any complexion. The medium-weight fabric drapes with ease, while the cut is sharply flattering—perfect for layering over a tee or worn on its own.

For the man who believes grooming is an art, this is a worthy gift that will make him think of you each time he uses it. This advanced, powerful, handheld razor makes shaving effortless, and so smooth that it borders on indulgence. Compact and travel-ready, the gadget features a visible dual-drive motor, precision-engineered blades, and a sculpted metal-and-glass design.

These gloves are pure luxury—and more importantly, they’re accessories he’ll reach for year after year. Sumptuously soft lambskin, a cozy virgin wool lining, and a buttery plongé leather palm combine with suede contrasts, ribbed stitching, and a leather-covered snap. They’ll make every handshake in the cold air feel like a small triumph.

Practical meets poetic in this fragrance trio, an effortlessly elevated way for him to set the mood in every room, from office to den to bedroom. Clean, non-toxic, and exquisitely composed, each Aesop scent adds a luxurious note that transforms a space without ever trying too hard.

This is for the man who prizes refinement over fanfare. The Hermès Fer à Cheval Key Ring is the epitome of discreet sophistication. Might we add, it’s also practical, because everyone can make use of a keychain, especially an elegant one. Eschewing ostentation, a simple “H” etched along its side signals unmistakable pedigree to those in the know.

From the British brand that dresses men who look like they have somewhere better (and sunnier) to be, consider this his passport to polished ease: Orlebar Brown’s Tiernan Shirt. Crafted in Milan from fine 14-gauge cotton, it’s light and breathable for warm afternoons that drift into golden evenings. Tubular-finished cuffs and hem give the look an effortless feeling of cool.

Scent here is an elegant form of memory—and this is an olfactory wardrobe for every mood and moment, something we think he will savor long after the holidays come to a close. Chanel’s Les Exclusifs Discovery Set is presented in a handsome encasement that features five of the house’s most revered fragrances.

Sleek, sharp, and flattering, these Dior sunglasses look good on every face—and even better on him. A timeless design that’s stylish without shouting labels, you can’t go wrong if you are going the eyewear route with your gift this holiday season.

Perfect on its own or as a luxe add-on, this serum eases even the slowest-to-skin-care guy into a routine without intimidation. Lightweight and hydrating, he’ll just think it feels great—while peptides and peppermint extract fight visible signs of aging and control excess oil.

A gift that instantly delivers total immersion, whether he’s relaxing to Bach or blasting Metallica, the WH-1000XM6 set the standard. Sony’s latest 1000X series combines industry-leading noise cancellation with studio-quality sound tuned by GRAMMY-winning mastering engineers. Added bonus: these advanced headphone sensors and processor adjust the audio in real time for unmatched clarity (and comfort might we add).

For the man who could use a little calm in his life, this clever device taps directly into the vagus nerve to quiet stress, sharpen focus, and even nudge sleep into a deeper, more restorative rhythm. Clinically tested, portable, and drug-free, this is wellness made effortless.

Some gifts flatter the ego, and some just quietly fix it. For the man who has everything (except maybe his original hairline), this is genius and far less expensive than a trip to Turkey for hair transplants. The HigherDose Red Light Hat uses clinical-grade red light to boost blood flow, strengthen roots, and wake up sluggish follicles. He’ll use it nightly, pretend it’s for “relaxation,” and thank you later.

A sleek upgrade for any sink-side moment, this set is the perfect gift for the host you’re not too close to but still want to impress with some thoughtfulness. The luxurious hand wash and hand cream, scented with uplifting cedarwood and sage, brings a subtle touch of sophistication to the guest bath.

The perfect gesture for the consummate host who has everything—or even the colleague who’s saved your sanity this year with camaraderie. Skip the gift set; this limited-edition candle shows true thoughtfulness. Winter Cabin has gorgeous olfactory notes of smoky wood, amber, and vetiver to set a peaceful mood for any room.

For the man whose home is his gallery, Bottega Veneta’s Large Model 600 ;amp in emerald green is more than lighting—it’s a statement of instinctive taste. A favorite among the modernist set and design collectors alike, this piece embodies that rare blend of restraint and audacity: pure form, perfect function, and unmistakably Bottega.

Not every luxe gift has to set you back financially. This Creed soap set is for the man with discerning taste, the one who notices when things smell just a little better. These soaps are ideal for his bathroom, bedroom, or shower.

If he curates his home down to the smallest detail, this is a gift that speaks his language. Sleek and modern, the Aera Diffuser fills rooms with clean, non-toxic fragrances without the fuss or mess of traditional diffusers. With fragrance capsules lasting up to 600 hours (five times more than the usual suspects, and with options for both large and small spaces) this present elevates his home and proves you also care about his sanctuary.

This is proof that true icons never fade—they simply return more refined. This scent is enjoying a full-fledged revival among the fashion and fragrance elite, making waves once again as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. With radiant yuzu and sophisticated mandarin at its core, this is a crisp, gorgeous scent for any man.

For those who struggle to sleep or relax, especially while traveling, these ultra-comfortable earbuds use audio, calming soundscapes, and advanced bio-sensing technology for a more restorative, personalized night’s sleep.

Limited edition and with unlimited attitude, this soft pink shade is perfect for dudes. Cut from ultra-soft Peruvian French terry (crafted in founder Anthony Thomas Melillo’s own fabric mill), this hoodie proves staying home can be a real mood. ATM is releasing only 50 of these sweatshirts—so get this for the man who’s got edge, confidence, and zero fear of color.

  • Got a Pixel 10? Google’s Android Phone Can Now Share Files With Apple’s AirDrop

    [ad_1]

The caveat is that the iPhone user will need to switch AirDrop into the “Everyone for 10 Minutes” mode instead of “Contacts Only” mode. Google says this isn’t some kind of workaround solution. It’s a direct, peer-to-peer connection; your data isn’t routed through a server, shared content isn’t logged, and no extra data is shared. Naturally, iPhone owners will be able to send data back to Pixel 10 phones as well.

Google has not worked with Apple on this cross-compatibility, as the company says it “welcomes the opportunity” to work with Apple so that this sharing function can work in the Contacts Only mode. “We accomplished this through our own implementation,” a Google spokesperson tells WIRED. “Our goal is to provide an easy and secure file-sharing experience for our users, regardless of who they are communicating with.”

In a security blog post, Google says the underlying strategy for what makes this new synergy between Quick Share and AirDrop work is the memory-safe Rust programming language. “These overlapping protections on both platforms work in concert with the secure connection to provide comprehensive safety for your data when you share or receive,” writes Dave Kleidermacher, vice president of Google’s platforms security and privacy.

Google tapped NetSPI, a third-party and independent penetration testing firm, to validate the security of the new sharing feature. The findings? The interoperability is “notably stronger” than other industry implementations. That’s pretty important, considering what happened the last time someone tried to improve cross-compatibility between iOS and Android without Apple: the startup Beeper tried to make texts from Android phones show up as blue bubbles on iPhones and caused all kinds of drama.

The number of people who can actually use this feature is limited because it’s only available on Google’s latest Pixel 10 smartphones, which just launched this past August. However, Google says it’s looking to expand the feature to more Android devices in the future.

This new feature in Quick Share is rolling out starting today to the Pixel 10 series, which includes the Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold. As it’s rolling out, you may not see it immediately on your device. To use it, all you need to do is select something to share, whether it’s a file, contact, or photo, choose Quick Share in the sharing menu, and make sure the iPhone owner has their AirDrop set to “Everyone for 10 Minutes Only.” The iPhone will be able to see the Pixel 10 device and can receive or send data.

  • This Lightweight Laptop Is Almost Half Off

    [ad_1]

On the hunt for a lightweight and budget-friendly laptop that won’t let you down? Best Buy has the Asus Zenbook A14 discounted from its usual $1,000 price point to just $550 for an early Black Friday deal. This featherweight laptop is a Windows Copilot+ PC, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus at its core, and is a great deal for students or occasionally putting in some hours from your local café.

    Photograph: Christopher Null

Weighing in at just 2.1 pounds, this Zenbook is one of the lightest laptops we’ve tested to date, with most machines starting closer to 2.4, and only Lenovo’s Thinkpad X1 Carbon coming anywhere close at 2.2 pounds. That’s largely thanks to a material developed by Asus called Ceraluminum, a combination of ceramic and aluminum that’s both extremely light and very durable.

Like a lot of laptops in the Copilot+ range, the Zenbook sports an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) resolution screen, but it’s at least an OLED panel, which is great news for those of you who put your laptop on the coffee table to watch movies. Our reviewer Christopher Null ran a video playback test, and even with the screen at full brightness, the laptop managed to run for over 20 hours. That’s a truly impressive feat, particularly for a laptop so thin and light.

The heart of this machine is a Snapdragon X Plus from Qualcomm, a brand you might be more used to seeing in mobile phones than Windows machines. While it does help give you that awesome battery life, the performance leaves a bit to be desired. While it’s totally fine for web browsing, text documents, and email, don’t expect to play the latest games, or do anything more strenuous than some light graphics work.

Qualcomm chips are slowly becoming a more appealing option for laptops, and if you’re trying not to spend a ton of money on a laptop, they’re worth a look. While gamers and video editors should swing by our laptop roundup for more serious options, at just $550 the Zenbook A14 offers a surprising amount of value in a petite package.

  • CurrentBody’s celeb-approved LED devices are on sale already

    [ad_1]

If you’re into at-home beauty tech, the CurrentBody Black Friday sale is probably on your radar already. They’re the brand behind the skincare devices cosigned by Kourtney Kardashian and Halle Berry – and yes, they have also been proud owners of the top spot in our best LED face masks guide for the past five years.

We get it: CurrentBody devices aren’t exactly affordable. Lucky, then, that brand has officially kicked off its Black Friday sale – serving up to 28% off its bestselling tools. While there are no discounts on singular products, what we have spotted are value bundles and discounted kits – which basically mean you’re getting way more for your money than you would at full price. As an LED fan, sale standouts for me have to be the Series 2 Face & Neck Kit (worth £759.98, now £679.99) and The Face & Hair Kit (worth £1,049.98, now £945.99).

Both of these bundles spotlight the CurrentBody LED mask – the star of the CurrentBody show and the product you’ve probably reached this guide in quest of.

While the red light therapy device won’t magically erase wrinkles overnight, red and near-infrared light is clinically-proven to boost collagen production – which in turn improves skin texture and calm redness when used consistently. You can read more below, but the Glamour team’s results speak for themselves.

The CurrentBody Black Friday sale is now live and runs until 24 December 2025 – and we’ve rounded up the deals that are genuinely worth your time (and money). Go on… have a little scroll.

How We Test LED Face Masks & Why You Can Trust Us:

Over the years, we’ve tested practically all of the CurrentBody skincare devices stocked on site – from their LED eye mask and LED neck mask to LED lip masks and even red light therapy devices for hair growth. Outside of LED technology, we’ve tested their compression boots and PEMF mats, as well as laser hair removal devices.

We’ve attended CurrentBody panel talks, product launch events and press days – and we’ve spoken to dermatologists and doctors that are both affiliated and unaffiliated with the brand. The aim? To how to use an LED face mask properly and the science behind whether they work.

CurrentBody’s LED devices are, hands down, the best on the market. You can read more about how we test LED masks over in our full guide – but in short, CurrentBody impress us on safety, light precision, coverage, fit, ease-of-use and value for money. Essentially: all six hero pillars we test against. Sophie Cockett, Glamour’s Commerce Editor, has used the CurrentBody LED Face Mask Series One for two years and Series Two for over a year. She compared it against competing devices, consulted the brand’s experts and clinicians, and gathered the kind of insights that only come from long-term, real-world use.

As for deals experience? Between us, the Glamour Commerce team has spent over a decade covering Black Friday – so when it comes to spotting a genuinely good deal, we know our stuff. We spend our time testing, reviewing and shopping (for research purposes, obviously), so by the time November rolls around, we’ve already tried and compared most of what’s out there.

  • Save With Our Google Workspace Promo Codes for 2025

    [ad_1]

Google Workspace is the modern business world’s de facto productivity suite, and it’s only gotten better over the years. There’s the centralization of Google Docs, Drive, and Gmail, of course, but Google has bolstered its productivity suite with an AI infusion via Gemini, as well as simplified its offerings to work for massive corporations all the way down to individual users. If you want to get the best price, you need a Google Workspace promo code.

Thankfully, you’ve landed in the right spot. Google is offering Workspace discounts until the end of 2025, allowing you to save up to 14 percent on a plan for your first three months. You just need to use one of the coupon codes linked above. Google Workspace works for both individual users and businesses, but if you’re just looking for more Drive space and a few extra features, take a look at Google One.

Save up to 14% Off These Google Workspace Promo Codes 2025

Now through the beginning of 2026 (January 1), Google is offering a discount on all of its Workspace plans, including Starter, Standard, and Plus. Regardless of which plan you choose, or when you sign up, you’ll get a discount on your first three months of service as long as your plan starts before January 1, 2026.

There are some notable differences between each Workspace plan – I’ll dig into them in the next section – but all three plans come with access to the full slate of Workspace apps. You get Gmail, Drive, Calendar, and Meet, of course, but even the cheapest Starter plan includes basic access to Google’s other apps, such as NotebookLM and Gemini inside the Workspace suite.

If you want to save, make sure to click one of the promo codes at the top of this page to secure your discount.

What Is the Best Google Workspace Plan?

Google offers four different Workspace plans, though only three are relevant for most people. There’s Starter, Standard, and Plus, as well as Enterprise, which is only available if you contact Google’s sales team. There isn’t a minimum number of users on any of the plans, but the bottom three options (Starter, Standard, and Plus) support up to 300 users. If you need more than that, you’ll need an Enterprise plan.

Although you have access to all the apps regardless of the plan you choose, there are some important differences, particularly between the Starter and Standard plans. Both include secure storage through Google Drive, but Starter comes with 30GB per user while Standard comes with a massive 2TB per user. Plus bumps that up to 5TB per user. Across all plans, storage is in a shared pool, so each additional user adds to the total pool of storage your organization can use.

Gemini is also a big difference between Starter and Standard. Although both have access to the Gemini app, Starter only has Gemini in Gmail and Vids. Standard (and Plus) includes Gemini across the full suite, including in Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet, and Chat.

  • This Excellent LG OLED Is Deeply Discounted Before Black Friday

    [ad_1]

If you’re looking to make the move to an OLED screen, but don’t feel like stomaching the high price tag usually associated with the tech, you might consider the LG B5 OLED. It’s already a great screen at the full price, but Best Buy currently has it marked down to just $600. That’s a significant markdown for this TV, which can typically be found between $1,000 and $1,200.

    • Photograph: Ryan Waniata

    • Photograph: Ryan Waniata

    • Photograph: Ryan Waniata

    • Photograph: Ryan Waniata

The star of the show is LG’s OLED panel, the type typically found on TVs twice the price. If you’re curious why that’s so important, we have a great explainer that breaks down the difference between all the different panel types. The important takeaway here is that the pixels emit their own light, allowing individual spots of the screen to be perfectly black. The result is impressive, with incredible contrast between the brightest and darkest spots that’s best understood by seeing it in person.

The other areas of the screen are excellent as well. Our reviewer Ryan Waniata opined that “there’s a sumptuous touch to images of all sorts,” and liked the colors as well, which were accurate and sharp without any adjustment. The screen has a natural and vivid performance to it that feels all the more impressive when you consider the price point.

It has the chops for some gaming too, with feature support that meets or beats higher-end screens. With four proper HDMI 2.1 inputs, your consoles won’t need to fight for the good ports, which is a nice surprise for the price point. It can reach a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, which is just fine for most console gamers, and has both AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync to make sure everything is smooth, plus Auto Low Latency Mode for quick response times.

Overall, the LG B5 OLED is a solid value at its full price, but the steep discount here makes this a really sweet upgrade or first OLED. If you’re still not sold, make sure to swing by our roundup of all the best TVs available, including the B5 and other OLEDs.

  • Is this viral moisturiser really worth the hype?

    [ad_1]

Phone, card holder, keys: The items you’ll never catch me leaving the house without…those and a healthy amount of Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream all over my face, of course.

I have acne-prone skin, but I’m also simultaneously combination-to-dry – an odd mix, I’m aware. That means however, when I do find a moisturiser that works for me, it becomes my holy grail, and that’s exactly how I feel about Magic Cream.

I’ve been wearing it daily for the past seven years now, ever since I stepped into the fashion industry really, and I think it might be my desert island item.

    SKIP TO & FAQs:

Magic Cream review, at a glance…

    How I tested:

My skin type: Combination-dry and hormonal acne-prone.

I’ve been ‘testing’ Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream for almost a decade now – which is more than enough time to give a fair verdict I reckon. I’ve worn it on makeup-free days while working from home and running errands as well as beneath full-glam looks while attending events/weddings/date nights. I’ve also tried it alongside the rest of my skincare routine (read: after a cleanser and toner, and before or sometimes after facial serums), to see if it pilled or reacted in a different way each time.

    Before and after pics:

Image may contain: Bottle, Cosmetics, Face, Head, Person, and Perfume

    Charlotte’s Magic Cream 50ml

    Why you can trust me:

While my area of expertise mainly lies in fashion, being a senior shopping writer means I also know a thing or two about beauty (see here for my Light Salon Boost review – one of the best LED face masks on the market – for proof). I have to say I’m fairly fussy when it comes to skincare, unless I see immediate results I lose interest and am unlikely to re-purchase, so when I do ramp and rave about something you can rest assured it’s because it’s a mainstay in my beauty bag.

    About Charlotte Tilbury

Hopefully by now Charlotte Tilbury needs little to no introduction – even if you’ve been living under a rock. One of the leading brands in the global beauty and makeup sphere, it’s a name you’ll hear (and see) on the lips of celebrities like Kate Moss, J-Lo, Amal Clooney and – the most recent face of the brand – Celine Dion.

Founded in 2013, it’s most celebrated for its Pillow Talk collection and Magic Cream. The invention of the latter all came about when Charlotte herself was a backstage makeup artist. She was renowned for using her own secret concoction on model and A-lister’s faces to instantly revive their dull, dry and tired skin.

“I created my iconic Magic Cream to prime skin too, so that makeup glides on flawlessly, looks more beautiful and lasts longer – I never do makeup without it!” She says. Neither do I, Charlotte.

    The formula:

Image may contain Person Skin Baby Body Part Hand Wrist and Finger

    Charlotte’s Magic Cream 50ml

As a fairly thick emollient, Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream is ideal for those with dry skin like myself. That said, if you’re on the oilier side (or have sensitive skin to fragrances) you might be better off trying the Magic Water Cream or steering clear entirely. It’s not for everyone, but those that love it will struggle to find anything better. Trust me, I’ve tried.

What’s in Magic Cream? The ingredients…

    • Hyaluronic acid: A humectant produced naturally by our body that can hold up to a thousand times its weight in water (AKA, great for hydration).
    • Rosehip oil: Rich in vitamin F for a cushioning effect.
    • Oat extract: Contains loads of alpha-glucans.
    • Frangipani flower extract: Gives that delicate scent Magic Cream is renowned for.
    • Vitamin C: Brightens complexion.
    • Vitamin E: Evens skintone.
    • Peptide complex: Plumps.
    • Aloe vera: Calms.
    • Camellia oil: Provides that dewy finish.
    • Shea butter: Nourishes and softens.

    My experience & final verdict:

The blend of antioxidant-rich Rosehip oil and oat extract softens and smooths the feel of my skin and lifts the look of my facial contours which, in turn, is what creates that perfect base for foundation, bronzer, blush etc to sit atop. I will say I’ve found I’m better to apply it at least 10 minutes before, though, as it can pill if I don’t let it soak in properly – especially if I use anything water-based on top.

  • The Best Sparkling Wines to Gift this Holiday Season

    [ad_1]

A bottle of bubbly is the quintessential holiday gift. Whether you’re attending a festive dinner party or adding to a friend’s carefully curated collection, you can’t go wrong with a special sparkling wine. Crisp, effervescent and fizzy, this light-bodied beverage sets the tone for any celebration.

Champagne, which is exclusively made in France’s namesake region, is known for its traditional methods and strict production parameters. Typically, Champagne is composed of chardonnay, pinot noir and meunier grapes, yielding a textured palate that is bright, refreshing and acidic. However, these same characteristics are a hallmark of most sparkling wines, and though Champagne is the most famous of the bunch, California wine country is known to produce some premier bubbly.

While popular brands like Veuve Clicquot and Korbel are readily available and easily recognized, other high-end purveyors showcase the exclusivity of this timeless tipple. If you’re looking to impress the most selective of collectors, limited releases and customized bottles are the perfect alternative to your standard bottle of brut.

From a special edition Dom Pérignon to bottles engraved with personalized messages, these are the best sparkling wines to gift this holiday season.

  • Midsize & Plus Size Editors’ Honest Reviews of NikeSkims Activewear

    [ad_1]

True, the market is saturated with buzzy collaborations — like Béis x Rare Beauty and Madewell x Alexa Chung — that quickly sell out on the strength of their designs and celebrity founders. But now there’s an entirely new brand built from two powerhouses that has both captured our attention and promised several collections to come. NikeSkims, which launched in September 2025, is the brainchild of a beloved activewear brand (Nike, obviously) and lifestyle juggernaut (Skims, founded by the one and only Kim Kardashian).

“Merging Nike’s performance innovation with Skims’ obsession with fit and form, the collection delivers sculpting, versatile pieces that move with her — studio to street, low-impact to high-performance — while unlocking endless possibilities for layering, styling, and self-expression,” a press release notes.

The brand’s second drop recently launched on both retailers’ sites, featuring 65 styles across leggings, workout tops, sports bras, and more apparel in sizes XXS through 4X, along with accessories like socks and training gloves. Refinery29 editors were excited to test out the brand’s new styles, which include a Shine colorblocked capsule, mesh-enhanced pieces in the Airy line, Woven Nylon winter layers, and the Matte core collection with Nike Dri-FIT technology — particularly so we could know firsthand if round two of the elevated activewear brand is worth the hype.

Ahead, we put NikeSkim to the test. Read midsize and plus size editors’ honest thoughts on the fit and functionality of the trendy activewear pieces below.

  • Vasco’s Latest Pocket Translator Can Mimic Your Voice

    [ad_1]

The device has no moving parts, with just a 3.5-inch touchscreen that covers its face and a few buttons on each side. These include power and volume buttons, and the now standard pair of “talk” buttons—one to recognize your partner’s voice and one for your own. In many modes, you won’t need to use these, however. Like most handheld translators, the unit includes a preloaded SIM 4G card that gives it near-global usability. (Vasco says it works “in nearly 200 countries,” which is a lot, since there are only 195 widely recognized nations today.) 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz Wi-Fi are also available when you’re in range of a hot spot or at a hotel.

The 2,500-mAh battery charges via USB-C. Vasco claims that the Q1 offers “many hours of intensive use” and up to 160 hours on standby—though note the battery will drain faster than you might expect even when it’s idling. “Many hours” in my testing was less than eight, but the 160-hour standby metric was roughly accurate.

Language support is robust, but details vary based on how you use the device. For voice-to-voice translation, it supports 86 languages. For text-based translation, that goes up to 108. Oddly, photo-based translations work with 113 languages. Lastly, real-time call translation has support for just 53 languages. I’ll get to each of these in a bit.

After a quick setup, the Q1 drops you into a straightforward interface that lines up its six functions, one over the other. In addition to the four modes mentioned above, the system offers a group chat feature that can support up to 100 participants in their own languages, and a basic learning mode that simply quizzes you on vocabulary, Duolingo style.

    Chatty Cathy

    Photograph: Chris Null

Most users will likely spend the bulk of their time in conversation mode, which lets you carry on a one-on-one voice discussion with a real-life partner, each in the language of your choice. As is common for handheld translators, holding down one of two buttons—either the pair on the side mentioned earlier or another pair that appears on the touchscreen—lets you tell the Q1 who is talking.
