  • Jason Kelce, Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson reveal limited edition Eagles plushies

    [ad_1]

If your holiday shopping list includes an Eagles fan — or if you’re an Eagles fan yourself — this one is for you.

Football’s favorite festive trio, former Eagle Jason Kelce, and current Eagles linemen Jordan Mailata and Lane Johnson, better known as The Philly Specials, are back to spread holiday cheer with their annual charitable initiative, Operation Snowball.

Starting November 7, at 9 a.m. ET, The Philly Specials, in partnership with Just Play, will open pre-orders for The Holiday Huddle, a collectible set of plushies in the likeness of the players dressed in festive midnight green sweaters embroidered with their names and numbers.

Sized between 8.5 and 9.25 inches, organizers said this 3-pack of ultra-life-like collectible plushies comes ready to squish and makes the perfect gift.

    Bre Furlong

Pre-orders for the $49.99 plushie set can be made by visiting The Philly Specials’ official website. Orders are expected to ship the week of Thanksgiving.

“Making music with my friends and donating to organizations committed to making the lives of Philadelphia families and students brighter during the holidays has been a highlight of the past three years,” Jordan Mailata said in a news release. “We are looking forward to bringing the joy back again this year with proceeds from the new plushies, and a few other surprises.”

In addition to the plushies, Bird fans can purchase A Philly Special Box Set of all three albums on vinyl and CD, A Philly Special Christmas Party on vinyl and CD, and greeting cards.

“When we released the first album, A Philly Special Christmas, we had no idea how impactful it would be – for both the organizations we supported and the joy we were able to spread throughout the city. Last year our efforts culminated with a citywide initiative that provided a gift for every student in the School District of Philadelphia,” said Vera Y Records and Operation Snowball executive producer Connor Barwin. “We are excited to continue the tradition of giving and fun with new surprises for a fourth holiday season this year.”

  • ‘Is Hawaii not in US??’: Woman splurges on $2K jacket from Miu Miu in Hawaii. Then she tries to take it to New York store for repairs—and is blocked

    [ad_1]

Miu Miu is having its viral moment—but what if the latest fashion craze isn’t what it’s all cracked up to be?

After buying into the hype, TikToker Tiff (@tiffkimmm) was left bitterly disappointed. So much so that she decided to air her grievances on the app.

“This is your sign not to buy ready-to-wear at Miu Miu,” she said. Tiff then showed viewers a grey fleece jacket, which she claims is “viral.”

What’s wrong with this Miu Miu sweater?

“I’ve only had this jacket for maybe a month now, and tell me why the little scrunchy thing fell off?” she asked. Tiff then showed the empty sleeve sans the “scrunchie thing.” Without the string looped inside the sleeve, she was unable to tighten or “scrunch” it.

“This is what it’s supposed to look like,” Tiff said, showing viewers the other sleeve for comparison. “One day, I just wanted to wear it, [but] noticed that it fell off. I didn’t know where it went.”

Holding up the string, she added, “I was cleaning the floor, and I found this. ‘

Tiff says she was then told to take the jacket to the newest Miu Miu in New York. When she arrived at the store, she was greeted by “a really lovely” staff member. While things started off well, everything changed when the worker came out and told her that if she wanted her jacket repaired, she had to pay a fee because Hawaii isn’t considered to be ‘in the country.’

“I’m sorry, I thought Hawaii was in the US. Last time I checked, and I think I learned this in fifth grade, Hawaii is a state number 50. Why is this considered international?”

She continued, “It’s not even about the fee; I can pay the fee. Actually, no, I don’t want to pay the fee because I literally paid like $2k for this jacket, and I only wore [it] like twice. So I’m now patiently waiting for the Hawaii [shopping assistant] to message me, but this is unacceptable. I mean, objectively so cute, very comfortable, but it’s kind of giving Columbia, and Columbia probably has better quality than this.”

Tiff didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment and email.

    @tiffkimmm @Miu Miu this is crazy… ? when did Hawaii become international?! LOL #miumiu #fyp #quality #qualitycontrol #luxury ♬ original sound – Tiff ☁️

In the comments, users couldn’t quite believe the price tag.

“$2k for 80% Polyester 20% Recycled Polyester [jacket], that falls apart in a month,” one wrote.

“$2k for fleece…” another despaired. “Did we not learn anything from Wisdom?” This commenter is referencing influencer Wisdom Kaye’s moment with the brand.

“This is a social experiment,” a third said. “This literally costs $15 to make.”

A fifth added, “That looks like something I can easily thrift. What’s wrong with the world?”

“That jacket is 2k!?!” a sixth said, incredulous. “And the cheap elastic and plastic drawstring broke … Wow.”

The video not only amassed 304,600 views—it also reached the brand itself. In a follow-up clip, Tiff flaunted the elaborate flower arrangement the brand sent, along with their assurance that they will fix the jacket with no additional cost.

Still, in the video description, the creator said she remained skeptical. “Very sweet of them, but not sure how I feel about buying certain RTW [items] from them anymore,” she admitted.

Miu Miu didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via email.

    More fashion disasters

Like Miu Miu, fashion brand TheRealReal has amassed some negative attention on TikTok recently.

Like Tiff, TikToker Ani (@anisaurussss) bought a dress in good faith, but was horrified to discover a suspicious stain in the crotch area of the attached bodysuit.

She said, “That’s disgusting. Do you guys not have quality control at The Real Real when you’re, you know, bringing in clothes and accessories and inspecting them? Like, is that not part of the process?”

  • The 15-Inch MacBook Air Is $200 Off

    [ad_1]

Looking for an Apple laptop with a bigger screen? You’re in luck, as the 15-inch MacBook Air with the M4 CPU is currently marked down by $200 on Amazon in a variety of configurations and colors, including the new Sky Blue finish. It’s a great fit for work or play, and only serious power users will need to consider upgrading to the MacBook Pro.

    Photograph: Luke Larsen

    Apple

    MacBook Air (15-inch, 2025)

This generation of MacBook Air got a big upgrade in the form of a new M4 processor, which boosts performance and adds support for a number of much-desired features. According to our reviewer Luke Larsen, the updated M4 chip “is 22 percent faster GPU, 31 percent multi-core, and 18 percent single-core, as measured in Cinebench R24.” It manages that performance bump without any fans, so it stays nice and quiet, even when you fire up Baldur’s Gate 3. The extra GPU power also helps the system run two extra screens with the lid open, a feat the previous year’s model couldn’t pull off.

Battery life is also a standout feature of MacBooks over the years, and this year’s model is no different. In our testing, it ran for over 20 hours while playing a local video, more than enough to get you through a rough day of work or a long flight. It did drain a bit faster when working actively, but still managed four and a half hours even when stressed, which should help alleviate any battery anxiety. It has an excellent keyboard, trackpad, and speakers too, making it a perfect fit for handling a variety of daily work and fun tasks.

While availability varies a little by color and size, you’ll get about a $200 discount regardless of the model you buy. The most basic version has 16GB of unified memory and a 256GB SSD, with an option to upgrade to 512GB of storage for $200 more. The top spec version also has a 512GB SSD, with 24GB of unified memory, but you’re paying a significant $200 fee for the extra 8GB of memory. If you want to know more about the different options, make sure to check out our in-depth guide for a full look at the entire MacBook lineup.

  • I Really, Really Want the 3,600-Piece Lego U.S.S. Enterprise

    [ad_1]

It is impossible to overstate just how big an impact Star Trek: The Next Generation had on an entire generation of kids growing up in the 1990s. I watched every episode with my mom. When I walked into my friend’s house after school, a gigantic cardboard cutout of virile, bald Captain Jean-Luc Picard greeted us in the hall. I followed Wil Wheaton, who played precocious teen Wesley Crusher, on social media well into my twenties. My son (I am not lying about this) is named Wesley. My husband thinks we named him after the explorer John Wesley Powell. We did not.

All this is to say that I now know exactly what my family’s big Christmas present is going to be this year. Today, Lego unveiled the Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D set.

    Courtesy of Lego

    Lego

Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D

The detailed replica of the ship comprises 3,600 pieces and includes nine minifigures, each with its own accessory. All the important folks are here: Picard, Riker, Worf, Data, Geordi La Forge, Deanna Troi, Beverly and Wesley Crusher, and the bartender, played by Whoopi Goldberg (who didn’t really register with me because I didn’t understand what bars were back then).

You can make Riker and Troi fall in love all over again when Riker plays his tiny trombone! Remember when it was apparently really sexy for all men to play large brass instruments? Deanna’s hair looks amazing, as usual. The Wesley Crusher figure has a portable tractor beam! It also comes with a display stand with an information plaque and a minifigure display title.

You can purchase the Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D on November 28 for $400. If you purchase the new set between November 28 and December 1, on Lego’s website or at a Lego store, you will also receive the Type-15 Shuttlepod as a gift with purchase. Excuse me, I have to mark this on my calendar and go faint now.

Like it or not, leggings are trending and Versace has already given us ideas on how to look great in them. Say goodbye to the thermal mesh: according to the Italian brand, the best thing to go for is a warm black velvet pair. Perfect to wear with boots or pumps, the form-fitting silhouette will draw attention to your legs. Opt for a boxier shape on top with a tailored red blazer over a turtleneck: the retro look will have you channelling Fran Fine from The Nanny.

  • Most Modern Refrigerators Aren’t Great. You May as Well Pick One That Looks Good

    [ad_1]

I have personally owned LG-brand refrigerators for the past 15 years. When I bought my first refrigerator from LG (an acronym for “Life’s Good”), in 2011, the French door model was highly rated, and the combination of price and features was unmatched by other brands. In fact, I loved it so much I bought a second, identical one when I moved seven years later. Which is why I was dismayed when it suddenly stopped freezing earlier this year. “We get this call all the time,” the mechanic explained as he swapped out the apparently faulty compressor.

Sadly, he was not wrong. Even a cursory internet search brings up reams of damning evidence of LG’s history of faulty linear compressors. A class action lawsuit was settled in 2020 over the LG compressors in refrigerators manufactured between 2014 and 2017 (my second fridge was, unfortunately, within this range, and I was unaware of the lawsuit), but more were filed in subsequent years for fridges manufactured in 2018 and beyond, for both compressor issues and malfunctioning craft ice makers. It’s not a good look.

That said, LG sells hundreds of thousands of refrigerators a year—LG sales make up one-third of the appliance market, behind only Samsung, according to data platform OpenBrand—and other brands are on the hook for class action lawsuits as well. (In fact, Consumer Reports says that of all new refrigerators purchased since 2014, regardless of brand, 50 percent have experienced a problem.)

I decided to give LG another shot by testing one of its new Studio refrigerators, from the brand’s premium, designed-focused line that came out around 2015. Newer LG fridges have smart capabilities through LG’s ThinQ system, and, according to LG, a different linear compressor than my old model. The Studio Smart 3-Door French Door Refrigerator has been installed in my home kitchen for the past five months, where my family has been using it like any other fridge. There’s no denying it looks good both in person and on paper, but will it last?

    Color Me Interested

    Photograph: Kat Merck

I specifically settled on testing a Studio in LG’s proprietary Essence White, as I’ve noticed stainless steel is appearing less in high-end home builds and remodels. (If you’ve had any kind of stainless steel appliance, you know it’s a magnet for fingerprints and stains.) Cabinet-fronted SubZeros have always been de rigeur in custom luxury homes, but until recently, there haven’t been a whole lot of non-stainless options for what appliance manufacturers call the “mass premium” market, aside from retro-inspired designs by brands like Smeg and Big Chill. And in fact, the trend toward lighter woods and colored cabinetry paves the way for a more contemporary version of white, softer than the institutional tone of the ’80s and ’90s.

“Essence White is not a traditional stark white,” explained Dean Brindle, LG’s head of product management. “It’s not a blue-white that you traditionally see in white appliances. It’s a warmer white, so a little bit of yellow.”

Indeed, I can see it—the Essence White Studio is matte, almost glowy, with sharp edges and squared, bronze hardware. It wouldn’t look out of place among luxury European appliances like La Cornue or Bertazzoni. I’m into it. I have read complaints that the hardware looks gold in online promotional photos but is actually rose gold-ish, and this is true—the color is not how it appears in photos. It definitely wouldn’t be a direct match with gold hardware elsewhere in the kitchen. Brindle said the unusual hardware tone was deliberately matched to the fridge’s hue.

  • We Tested Travel Pillows on Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. These Are Our Favorites

    [ad_1]

Cabeau’s Evolution Earth neck pillow is covered in RPET, a super-soft, washable fabric made with recycled plastic bottles. The pillow offers excellent, high sides and a comfortable, firm fit. Like some other pillows in this guide, it can be tricky to use this pillow with over-ear headphones. The back is flat, so in theory it could sit flush against a headrest, though I found it a bit awkward based on my height when I tried it on a bus and plane. (Seat backs rarely work as intended for me.) There’s a chin strap that prevents your head from falling forward.

It took me many attempts to get this “HeadCatch” technology to work, and I didn’t find it super comfortable once it was strapped under my chin, but if you’re a forward-leaner, it’s a nice touch. (I, thankfully, am not.) I wish it came with a travel case, though you can pay an extra $5 to get one included. These caveats aside, once I got the pillow adjusted to where I wanted it, I was able to fall asleep. It was nice and firm without being too stiff, and I woke up feeling refreshed despite having spent the past hour on a bus.

Save On Our Favorite Brooks Running Shoes

Brooks makes so many iconic running shoes that it’s hard to list them all. I’m currently running in the Brooks Glycerin Max, which is one of the cushiest shoes that I’ve ever tried. I don’t feel particularly stable on uneven terrain, but the padding is noticeably springy and cushy if you’ve been putting in some serious miles. WIRED director Michael Calore is a fan of the Brooks Ghost line, and if you’re planning on hitting the trails in the cold, wet Pacific Northwest, I would suggest the Brooks Cascadia Gore-Tex. The Adrenaline is the company’s most popular shoe.

  • The Pixel 10 Family Is Marked Down on Amazon

    [ad_1]

If you’re a part of the Pixel crew like I am, you know that discounts on the latest generation are few and far between. That’s why I’m pleased to share that the entire family of Pixel 10 phones, from the regular Pixel 10 all the way up to the recently-released Pixel 10 Pro Fold, are all marked down by various amounts on Amazon.

    • Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL

Starting with the base model Pixel 10, you’ll save $200 on both the 128 GB and 256 GB models in all four colors, bringing the prices down to $599 and $699, respectively. The base version of the Pixel 10 makes a few compromises to bring the price down, like foregoing the Pro model’s vapor chamber for cooling, and opting for a smaller camera sensor. It’s still an excellent choice for casual Android enjoyers, particularly at the price, but power users and mobile gamers may want to think about upgrading to the Pro.

Like the regular 10, the Pixel 10 Pro is marked down by $250 across all sizes, but color availability does change a bit, particularly on the 1 TB model. The biggest difference between the two models are the higher-resolution screen, more memory, and the bigger and better camera sensors. You can also get the higher storage models, while the regular Pixel 10 only goes up to 256 GB. The Pixel 10 Pro XL, which has the same specs as the 10 Pro but with a larger screen, is marked down by $300, again with some varying availability between color and storage size.

Finally, we have the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which just recently became available for purchase, and is already marked down by a not-insignificant $300 for both the 256 GB and 512 GB models, and I even spotted both colors in stock at both sizes. It has not one, but two excellent displays, and feels premium and sturdy, even if it is missing some of the features found on the 10 Pro.

With discounts on a variety of Pixel 10 series phones, you might need a little more help deciding which one is for you. We have a handy guide that compares all the currently available Pixel phones, including the Pixel 9a, which is currently discounted as well. We also have an in-depth review comparing the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL specifically, which is worth a read for the extra details.

  • This new skincare device gave me glass skin in 10 minutes

    [ad_1]

The Shark FacialPro Glow has officially joined my skincare lineup – and honestly, it has more than earned its spot.

Since reaching my late twenties, skincare tools of all kinds have become a part of my self-care ritual; my bathroom is basically a mini spa, home to a CurrentBody LED mask and my trusty FaceGym gua sha. So, when Shark invited me to preview the FacialPro Glow before its launch, promising an at-home Hydra-Facial experience, I knew I had to see if it lived up to the hype.

I’m someone who used to book in for weekly Hydra-Facials before my wedding (yes, my bank account is still recovering), so the idea of getting those same pore-clearing, glow-boosting results without leaving the house sounded too good to be true. But, I’ve spent the past month testing it (the Shark FacialPro Glow officially launched in the UK in the first week of October; rather than going live with a review immediately, I wanted to see if it was worth the hype) and have many positive thoughts.

Ahead, everything you need to know.

    Featured in this article:

How I Tested The Shark FacialPro:

I’ve got dry, sometimes dehydrated skin, so when Shark announced the FacialPro Glow – basically an at-home Hydrafacial promising clearer, glowier skin – I was all in. I got my hands on it before it launched and attended the press event, where the Shark team explained exactly how it works, how to use it safely on sensitive skin, and what kind of results to expect. There was even a live demo, which definitely helped me make sense of all the attachments (there are a lot, btw).

Because my skin can be on the sensitive side, I decided to play it safe to start. I patch-tested the AHA + BHA Derm Detox Exfoliating Gel beforehand since I knew it was a strong acid-based formula. It did tingle a little, but nothing too harsh – and I didn’t have any redness or irritation afterwards. For my first session, I went for the gentle tip attachments and the medium suction level. Now that my skin’s used to it (and I’m more confident), I’ve moved up to full intensity with the ‘normal’ tips. From experience, I’d say it’s perfectly fine for most sensitive skin types.

I’ve been testing the FacialPro Glow once a week for the past month, usually in the evenings when I can actually take my time. I stuck to the brand’s recommended order (cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate, depuff) and noted how my skin looked and felt after each session. I even took before-and-after photos, and filmed a TikTok of the whole process below.

    Why You Can Trust Me:

I’ve been reviewing beauty and wellness products for over six years – five years in previous roles, and the last eight months here at Glamour. In that time, I’ve tested hundreds of skincare tools, from LED face masks and gua sha tools to spot treatments for acne. I regularly attend brand launches, interview dermatologists and MUA’s, and get early access to new products so I can properly trial them before they hit the shelves.

When it came to the Shark FacialPro Glow, I spoke directly to the experts behind the device to understand the tech, the results it claims, and how best to use it for my skin type. Though I don’t have acne-prone skin, I do struggle with dehydration and visible pores (mostly because I never drink enough water). After just two sessions, my skin looked glowier, smoother, and makeup went on like a dream – so it’s safe to say it lives up to its claims.

    Shark FacialPro Glow First Impressions:

In short, the Shark FacialPro Glow combines exfoliation, extraction and hydration in one palm-sized gadget, while its partner tool – the DePuffi – brings that post-facial sculpt and lift using clever hot-and-cold therapy.

  • The Razer Blade 14 Is Still One of the Best Compact Gaming Laptops

    [ad_1]

The OLED looks great, but one of the benefits of OLED is HDR in gaming, thanks to the incredible contrast from being able to turn off individual pixels. OLED isn’t known for being bright, but lately, that’s improved on laptops and external monitors. The OLED display on the Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 10, for example, can be cranked up to over 1,000 nits, creating an impressive HDR effect. The Razer Blade 14, however, only maxes out at 620 nits in HDR and 377 nits in SDR. Because of that, I could hardly tell HDR was even turned on. It’s still a pretty screen, and OLED has other benefits over IPS panels, including faster response times, less motion blur, and higher contrast.

Unfortunately, the Razer Blade 14’s OLED panel is not as colorful as the one I tested on the Razer Blade 16, with a color accuracy of 1.3 and 86 percent coverage of the AdobeRGB color space. Also, the 120-Hz refresh rate is standard for OLED laptops, but you can get 240-Hz speeds on laptops that use IPS, like the Alienware 16X Aurora, which happens to be a much cheaper device.

The Razer Blade 14’s biggest competition is the ROG Zephyrus G14. I haven’t tested the latest model yet, but it’s a laptop we’ve liked for years now, and it’s on sale often enough for less than the Blade 14. The only real difference is that the Blade 14 uses a more powerful AMD processor, the Ryzen AI 9 365. Not only does it perform better in anything CPU-intensive, such as certain games and creative applications, but it’s also a more efficient chip.

That leads to some improved battery life—at least, better than your average gaming laptop. I got 10 hours and 19 minutes in a local video playback test, which is about the most you can expect to get from the device. On the other hand, Asus offers higher-powered configurations of the Zephyrus G14, including one that includes the more powerful Ryzen AI 9 HX.

    The RTX 5070 Takes Charge

    Photograph: Luke Larsen

Bad news: The RAM is no longer user-upgradeable on the Razer Blade 14, so you’ll have to configure it up front with what you need. My review unit had 32 GB, but you can also choose either 16 GB or 64 GB. Because it’s soldered, the memory speeds are faster. As for internal storage, you still get one open M.2 slot to expand space if you need it, supporting up to 4 TB.

  • Whisper Into This AI-Powered Smart Ring to Organize Your Thoughts

    [ad_1]

Everyone has an inner monologue. When you’re commuting on the train, riding a bike, or in the shower, chances are you’re thinking about the day ahead, tasks you need to do, or maybe just mulling over a conversation you had the night before. Much of this stays in our brains, soon to be forgotten or pushed away when the train comes to the station. But what if you could have it all subtly recorded in one place, ready for you to digest later on?

That’s what a new company called Sandbar envisions for Stream Ring, an AI-powered smart ring. The company emerged out of stealth today after two years of development, led by cofounders Mina Fahmi and Kirak Hong. Both previously worked at CTRL-Labs and later at Meta when Mark Zuckerberg’s company acquired the neural interface startup. It has raised $13 million in venture funding.

    A “Mouse for Voice”

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

The hardware is Stream Ring, a smart ring you wear on your index finger. Raise your hand and talk into the ring, and you can even whisper into it in crowded areas if you don’t want others to hear. It doesn’t save any audio of your interactions with the ring; instead, much like many of the AI-powered wearables in the market right now, it transcribes your words into text, which you can access in the Stream app.

“We think of this as the mouse for voice because it solves a lot of the challenges of a voice interaction at once,” Fahmi tells me in a nondescript office space in Manhattan. “We mostly imagine it phone away, earbuds in—this allows you to interact immediately with no wake word.”

There’s a capacitive sensor on the flat edge of the ring, and a tap-and-hold lets you record your thoughts without being interrupted by an AI assistant. If the assistant responds to you, a simple tap on the sensor will cut it off. The hardware will be waterproof at launch, so you won’t have to worry about using it in the rain or on sweaty days.

The Stream also doubles as a media controller, meaning you can tap it once to play or pause music, double-tap for the next track, or swipe for volume control. If, for some reason, Sandbar goes under and its AI backend goes offline, at least you’re left with a very expensive media controller, rather than hardware that quickly turns into electronic waste. At present, there are no health-tracking features like those on most smart rings today.

  • Beige trousers and black boots are the elegant combo to wear on repeat this autumn 2025

    [ad_1]

When it comes to trousers, white, black and grey usually come out on top. This is as true in a professional wardrobe as it is in the closet of stylish, minimalist women. But what about beige? Usually associated with the preppy intellectual or bookish librarian look, beige trousers are a quiet garment that doesn’t really draw attention to itself.

According the the autumn/winter 2025 runways, beige trousers will be one of the obsessions of the season. Beige trousers garment went from being considered too formal to being the favourite of the best-dressed. After all, it’s one of those pieces that projects a powerful, sophisticated and elegant natural look.

For this season, they might come in leather a la Miu Miu (shop more leather trousers here), tailored like Ralph Lauren, or even denim in the case of Egonlab. It’s hardly a surprise, considering recent viral aesthetics including grandad dressing, quiet luxury, dark academia and the modern executive look.

And they won’t be paired with pumps or loafers as we’re used to seeing them, but with footwear that makes a statement: boots. From normcore models like Chelsea boots, to more dramatic styles like mock crocodile, we’ve detailed all the ways you can wear this combo this season.

  • Our Favorite Gaming Headset for Xbox Owners Is Discounted

    [ad_1]

Looking for a great headset for your Xbox Series X or S that’s super simple to setup and use? Microsoft’s Xbox Wireless Headset is built specifically for console life, with easy setup, great spatial audio, and easy to use controls. It’s currently marked down to just $105 on Amazon, a $15 discount, and is a great choice for Xbox enthusiasts who spend most of their time gaming from the couch.

    Photograph: Brad Bourque

    Microsoft

    Xbox Wireless Gaming Headset

My favorite thing about the Xbox Wireless Gaming Headset is that how easy it is to connect to your console. It leverages the existing wireless connection from the Xbox Series S/X to pair directly, no need for USB dongles or extra apps. Just press the pairing button on the headset and the console’s sync button, and you’re ready to game.

I also appreciate the big volume knobs that take up the outside surface of both earcups. They’re easy to adjust even in the middle of a battle, with one side changing the volume, and the other setting the balance between game chat and communication audio. The latter is particularly useful for quick adjustments when your friends get a little too rowdy. While I wasn’t overly impressed with the mic’s quality, it sounds good enough for the price point, and more importantly, does a great job filtering out background noise, so your squad doesn’t have to hear your dog barking.

The Xbox Wireless Gaming Headset is equipped with Dolby Atmos, as long as you’re connected to an Xbox Series S or X, and the game you’re playing supports it. It gives a massive boost to spatial audio, which is great for both shooters and immersive games, and you can tweak the settings directly from the Xbox settings menu on your console, or from the Xbox mobile app.

While the Xbox Wireless Gaming Headset is my preferred pick for casual console gamers, there’s a whole world of other gaming headsets out there with different features like ANC or swappable batteries. Make sure to check out our full guide to see if anything else appeals to you, or take advantage of a discount on the Xbox pair to get gaming fast.

  • These are the best lightweight moisturisers for oily skin

    [ad_1]

Do I still need a moisturiser if I have oily skin?

Definitely. According to Jodie Kidd – supermodel-turned-founder and creative director of Skin & Tonic – one of the biggest skincare myths is that oily skin doesn’t need moisturising. “In fact, skipping moisturiser can make things worse, as your skin overcompensates by producing even more oil,” she explains. “The key is to choose a lightweight formula that hydrates without adding any extra shine.”

In fact, founder of Allies of Skin, Nicolas Travis, believes that oily skin is not a permanent state. “If you balance your skin with the right products, you can reduce the production of excess sebum so that skin is balanced and happy,” he says.

What is the best moisturiser for oily skin?

The best moisturisers for oily skin will hydrate and nourish your skin, while also being non-comedogenic – meaning that they wont block the pores. “Essentially, you want a formula that hydrates, without feeling occlusive,” Travis adds.

For a trusty everyday moisturiser for oily skin, you can’t go wrong with the CeraVe Oil Control Facial Moisturising Gel-Cream. Completely non-comedogenic and fragrance-free, it’s been formulated with mattifying starches, oil-regulating niacinamide, and three separate ceramides to help support and strengthen the skin barrier.

Alternatively, for completely weightless hydration in the form of a cooling gel, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser is a great affordable option – and it’s formulated with the humectants hyaluronic acid and glycerin, which help draw moisture into the skin. Seeking something considerably more luxurious? The Dr. Barbara Sturm Clarifying Face Cream is packed with sophisticated antioxidants, and make a luxurious night cream for oily skin.

“Meanwhile, if you’re primarily concerned about breakouts, look for a gentle oil-balancing formula that’ll help to hydrate and clarify the skin,” suggests Kristal Goodman, head of product innovation at THG Labs. Our top pick would be the Caudalie Vinopure Moisturising Mattifying Fluid – which is a lightweight fluid-lotion enriched with clarifying salicylic acid, and oil-regulating niacinamide.

What is the 3 minute rule for moisturiser?

The “3-minute rule” works on the face and body, and basically refers to the idea that you should apply moisturiser within three minutes of bathing, showering, or washing your face, as then you’ll lock-in maximum hydration before the water evaporates from your skin. Essentially, it makes your moisturising far more effective.

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

Back in 2019, I wrote up a list of my favorite plus-size and size-inclusive brands to shop. Six years later, I’m sorry to say, several of those companies have either folded or cut back on their plus-size options. The fashion world (well, the world) has weathered a lot of change since then, including a general cooling on concepts like body positivity and size inclusion. But some brands have stuck it out — and, I have to say, have gotten even better in recent years. Inclusive fashion is still a small world, but it’s thriving. Here are 10 of my favorite brands that are nailing it right now…

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Universal Standard
    Size US 00-40
I’ve always admired Universal Standard, a brand that sets the bar for inclusivity and quality. But in its early days, the collections were a little austere for my personal taste. In the years since, however, WOW, has it flourished. Universal Standard now produces a broader range of styles (with STUNNING colors), while maintaining its excellent quality. It’s grown-up but not stodgy, which, as any plus-size shopper knows, is tough to come by if you’re anywhere over a size 14. I am absolutely obsessed with this mustard wrap coat, and I’m into the bell-sleeve/boat-neck combo on this striped top.

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Thigh Society
    Size US 2-34
I had no idea how comfortable I could be in a dress until I got my first pair of Thigh Society shorts to wear underneath. They look like shapewhere, but don’t be fooled — these anti-chafe shorts are all comfort, zero squeezing. They are durable and shockingly breathable, and I genuinely forget I’m wearing them. I wore them on my wedding day and danced for six hours in total comfort under 10 layers of tulle.

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Land’s End
    Size US 00-26
Yeah, that’s right, Land’s End — remember that catalogue that was always on the mail table growing up? I kind of forgot Land’s End existed sometime around 1998, but when I rediscovered it a few years ago — while desperately hunting for a winter parka in my size — I was shocked to discover that Land’s End got GOOD. It’s one of the few brands that make solid, weather-resistant outerwear in plus sizes, but don’t overlook their indoor clothes. These wide-leg corduroys? This green sweater tee? Okay, Land’s End! I’ll get back on the mailing list!

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Ace & Jig
    Size XXS-4X
Whenever I spot someone wearing a great print and ask them where it’s from, the answer is always Ace & Jig. No one does prints like them — cheery and artsy and chic, and made of Fair Trade Certified fabrics. Just looking at this dress makes me want to dance at a backyard party. I hemmed and hawed for months over buying a jumpsuit — should I really be spending $240 on overalls? — and eventually went for it during a sale. That was three years ago, and they’re still one of the most-worn, most-treasured items in my wardrobe. The price point isn’t low, but I find the cost-per-wear value to be excellent.

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Wray
    XXS-6XL
Wray is another great brand dispelling the myth that plus-size clothes must be either bland and boxy OR asymmetrical and covered with bows on the back (why always on the back??). Their collections are full of great pieces with vintage flair — fun, but not spangled, if you know what I mean. I love this deep-berry dress, and these checked pants have totally upended my lifelong aversion to checks. Another thing I appreciate about Wray is that they re-sell their secondhand items, and allow shoppers to list their own previous purchases. I’ve never re-sold on their site, but I’m always keeping at eye out for retired designs I didn’t get a chance to grab the first time.

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Big Bud Press
    Size XP-7XL
Big Bud Press is best known for their jumpsuits, and for good reason. They are true forever pieces in that the styles are classic and the materials are top-notch durable. But can we talk about the rest of their products? The work jackets! The carpenter overalls and tees in every color of the rainbow!

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Old Navy
Perhaps an obvious choice, but credit where credit is due. Old Navy checks boxes that virtually no other brand does: They produce all womenswear in the company’s full size range, and they photograph pieces on a variety of models, allowing shoppers to select a model size when browsing online. I find that particular feature so helpful that it’s one of the reasons I keep coming back to Old Navy (hint, hint, other brands!). It’s also kind of amazing to be able to click a button and suddenly see a page full of bodies that look more like my own. I’m absolutely devoted Old Navy’s button downs and high-waisted flare jeans. And I spent all summer in this swim romper, which was so cute I’m proooobably going to buy another for next year right now.

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Peridot Robes
    Size 14-40
Do you know how hard it is to find an even slightly plus-size robe? I get weirdly bummed out about this. True, a robe is not as important as, say, underwear or a winter jacket. But a comfy, pretty, lounge-y robe is the kind of luxury you take for granted until you look around and realize it’s completely unavailable to you. I was THRILLED to discover Peridot Robes, a company that’s devoted to filling this gap (and making more cute loungewear to boot!). And how luscious are the fabrics?! I am currently fantasizing about swanning about in this juicy tie-dye number.

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Rachel Antonoff
    Size 0-26
Rachel Antonoff’s pieces are just the cutest, but never so cutsey that I’d feel childish wearing them. (This rainbow cookie sweater is top of my Christmas wish list, in case anyone’s interested!) I also enjoy the brand’s gorgeous, playful lookbooks, and the fact that they typically feature a variety of ages and genders modeling the clothes. I do wish they incorporated more plus models — especially those on the larger end of the spectrum. But I’m hopeful that a brand so willing to flout industry standards in other ways can be nudged in the right direction. So, let’s nudge.

    10 Size-Inclusive Brands I Love Right Now

    Girlfriend Collective
    XXS-6XL
Girlfriend Collective will always have a special place in my heart for being one of the only activewear companies that stocked plus sizes from the start. I give them huge credit for alerting other brands to the fact that many plus-size people do, in fact, enjoy exercise and would LOVE to do it in something other than a giant T-shirt. I never had an actual workout set until Girlfriend came along, let alone a variety of cuts and colors from which to choose. I especially like their cropped workout bras, and I’ve been eyeing this balletic long-sleeve bodysuit for months.

So, who else is getting it right these days? Any more inclusive (or plus!) brands I should check out?

P.S. Jordan Sondler’s week of outfits (featuring more great inclusive brands!), and what’s the ‘hero piece’ in your closet?

  • I Opened All These Advent Calendars to Find the Best Options

    [ad_1]

Vahdam India makes a few different Advent calendars (that webpage says 2024, though it is current). This giftable box is my favorite. The packaging is sturdy, stable, and festively decorated. Each of the 24 drawers contains five individually packaged pyramid tea bags apiece, so in total you’re getting 120 bags of tea (and it’s nice that the box doubles as storage, if you don’t have room for all those bags). The tea is perfectly dried and delicious. Steep a bag in 200 milliliters of hot water for two to five minutes (each bag has specific instructions and brewing tips, including whether or not you should include milk, and how to brew if you want it iced), and you’ll soon have a wonderful, cozy cup of comfort.

My favorite so far is the India’s Original Chai, which tastes unlike any other chai I’ve ever had. It’s rich, earthy, fragrant, and fantastic. There are other unique flavors I’m eager to try, like Turmeric and Hibiscus Rose, in addition to some more commonly found blends like Chamomile or Earl Grey Citrus. One percent of the company’s revenue is donated toward Teach Me, a program that helps educate the children of farmers in India. The products are also climate- and plastic-neutral. And, finally, unlike some other consumable Advent calendars, this one expires in two years—so you have plenty of time to enjoy its contents. If you’re a tea enthusiast or your giftee enjoys a warm beverage during the chilly winter months, this is a no-brainer.
