  • Our Favorite Travel and Outdoor Gear Is on Sale at Huckberry

    [ad_1]

Huckberry, purveyor of finely curated clothing and gear for the sort of person equally at home in the woods and the city, is having one of the company’s rare site-wide sales this week—or pretty close to site-wide. We’ve tested and love quite a bit of Huckberry’s stuff, especially the Proof 72-hour merino T-shirt. If you buy nothing else this year, buy that. Trust me. Check out the other deals, which we’ve rounded up below.

Great Deals on our Favorite Travel Clothes

    Courtesy of Huckberry

    Proof

    72-Hour Merino T-Shirt

Huckberry’s Proof 72-Hour Merino is our favorite merino wool T-shirt. The cut and style are not overly sporty, making it more versatile than some others, from everyday wear around town to a trip to the gym. Mine is still soft after six months of wear and washing. At 87 percent 150-gsm superfine merino wool (16.5 micron) and 13 percent nylon, this T-shirt makes a great starter for those new to merino wool—there’s enough nylon that it’s stretchy, and not the least bit itchy.

These pants are the companion piece to the 72-hour shirt above. There’s quite a bit less wool here, though. The breakdown is 47 percent merino wool, 33 percent nylon, 14 percent polyester, and 6 percent elastane. The result is a much stretchier fabric than the T-shirt, which still provides a good amount of moisture-wicking and the anti-odor properties of merino. My only gripe with these is that they feel synthetic. What I love about them is the stain resistance. Yes, that DWR coating that gives them that stain resistance will wear off, but it’s not too hard to rejuvenate it.

When I travel, these are the pants I wear. They’re light, comfy, stretchy, and weigh next to nothing. They’re 98 percent cotton, with 2 percent spandex to give them a little stretch. Unlike jeans, these have enough flex that you can easily do squats in them. That might translate to some stretching out over time, but I’ve been wearing mine for almost a year now and they still fit perfectly.

I love this jacket. It’s the only jacket I’ve ever worn that anyone has complimented me on, which is also the case for another WIRED staffer. Waxed canvas is definitely heavy, but it stands up very well to wear. I’ve had my Trucker Jacket for well over a year, and it still looks like new. I don’t need to rewax it yet, but I have rewaxed other things, and it’s dead simple to do. There’s also a wool-lined version, which I have not tried but I do kinda wish I had that instead of the flannel. It’s on sale as well.

Deals on Backpacks, Coffee Brewers, and Other Gear

Our Favorite Travel and Outdoor Gear Is on Sale at Huckberry

    Courtesy of Huckberry

GoRucks are awesome backpacks, but they aren’t cheap. Here’s a chance to get the GoRuck GR1 for a bit less. This is a collaboration between GoRuck and Huckberry, with branding from both companies on the pack. My favorite thing about the GR1 is its versatility. I have used this pack for plane travel (as a carry-on), rucking, hiking, hauling camera gear, and more. I even strapped it to the back rack of my bike for an overnight bike-packing trip. If you want to ruck with it, grab a weight plate as well.

The Yeti Hopper Flip 12 is a nice little personal-size cooler. Hopper Flip 12 closes with a water proof zipper, which has never leaked on me thus far. With 12 quarts of capacity, it’s not huge. Think a six pack and sandwich, depending on what you use to keep things cold (ice packs are the way to go with this one).

This isn’t a huge discount, but any time you can save some money on Snow Peak it’s a win. The company’s incredibly well-designed gear isn’t cheap. Take this mug, which amounts to a $47 coffee mug. But look, it’s titanium, OK? And it’s double-walled, so your coffee stays warm even on those bitter cold mornings at the cabin. Wired editor Adrienne So has used these as camping mugs for 10 years.

If you’re going to get the mug, you might as well get the French press too.

You see where we’re going here—mug, brewer, and now grinder. Yes, this is a $140 (on sale!) military-grade aluminum and high-carbon stainless steel burr grinder, which, I know, that’s a lot. This is also hands down the best, most reliable hand grinder I’ve ever used. Mine is five years old and has stood up to the abuse of years and years of travel without missing a beat. It’s missing a little paint, but otherwise works exactly like the day I got it. On sale, I might add.

    Peak Design Everyday bag

    Photograph: Peak Design

The Everyday Backpack is one of our favorite camera bags, but it doesn’t have to be that. It’s really just a nice EDC backpack with some well thought out features, like a tuck-away waist strap, three FlexFold dividers, and a nice strap for attaching it to the handle of your rolling carry on bag.

  • H&M Studio Holiday 2025 collection is my fave one yet, and I’m a die-hard fan

    [ad_1]

Ask me for a (short) list of things I look forward to every November/December and it’d go: Christmas lights, pine-scented candles, and H&M Studio’s Holiday collection. H&M Studio Holiday 2025 is launching next week and it’s honestly my favourite drop yet – and I’m a die-hard fan.

After the successful H&M x Glenn Martens collab sell out I didn’t think the high-street store would have anything left to give us, but party season is upon us, and H&M has never let us down in that arena before.

While channelling the theatrical essence of the New Romantics – an era that was characterised by flamboyant, eccentric fashion and originated in the UK in the late ’70s/early ’80s – this line-up is actually super wearable.

“The silhouettes are striking, and we play with volume, but nothing is too perfect or pretty. The collection acts as a complete wardrobe, leaving it to each person to define their own take on partywear,” said H&M Studio Collection Designer Kathrin Deutsch. For a fashion writer who’s intimidated by sequins (I know, make that make sense), this is music to my ears.

Rather than the usual top-to-toe sequin looks you’d expect to see from a partywear launch, this one offers a more refined take. Think: a colour palette of black, deep brown and burgundy alongside neutrals, with less in-your-face-but-still-glamorous fabrics like taffeta, jacquard and mesh taking centre stage. Harking back to the AW25 runways, where Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani Privé and Schiaparelli were also influenced by the ’80s, it all makes perfect sense.

So what to bookmark ahead of next week’s launch? There’s a couple of David Bowie-esque shirts I can’t stop thinking about, with oversized collars and pussybow ties, but I’m mostly drooling over the polka-dot mesh gown. With its cape back and ruffle neckline, there’s no denying it’ll be one of the most sought-after party dresses this year. If only I had a black tie event to wear it to…

Browse the entire H&M Studio Holiday 2025 lookbook below ahead of the launch.

    Rhinestone and Pearl Earrings

    Ruffle Neck Sleeveless A-Line Dress

    Sleeveless Jacquard Mini Dress

    Ruched Taffeta Bandeau Top

    Ruched Taffeta Mini Skirt

    One-Shoulder Bow-Detail Ruched Maxi Dress

    Denim Bow-Strap Mini Dress

    Long-Sleeve Floral Maxi Dress

    Diamanté and Pearl Chain Necklace

    Off-The-Shoulder Mesh Top

    Polka-Dot Mesh Sleeveless Top

    Diamanté Tassel Earrings

Flat Sequin and Mesh Ruffle-Neck Top

    Embellished Button Cardigan

H&M Studio Holiday 2025 will land online at hm.com from the 18th November, and in select stores from the 17th November. Save when you shop with these H&M discount codes at checkout.

  • Smart Home Deals and Half-Off Tools at the Home Depot

    [ad_1]

Apparently, it’s always Friday at the Home Depot. Or at least, the Home Depot Black Friday deals have slipped all customary bounds of the calendar: Online deals started November 5 and will go all the way to December 3.

This includes some very steep discounts on flagship tool brands like Milwaukee, Ryobi, and DeWalt tools—by which I mean half-off and buy-one-get-one steep. Seemingly half the store is on sale. But here’s an early look at some of the best deals to look out for as Black Friday rings in early.

Discounts on Google Nest and Other Smart Home Devices

A couple of WIRED’s top-tested smart home devices from Google Nest have significant discounts at Home Depot right now, alongside discounts on a mess of smart home devices from Echo, Eufy, and others.

    Photograph: Nena Farrell

    Google

    Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Generation)

The newest Nest Learning Thermostat is a genuine blockbuster device in its category, and the Home Depot is selling it for the lowest price I can find at any retailer right now. The Nest is pretty on the eyes and has no trouble with disconnections or irregularities in the temperature readout, which are surprisingly common among smart home thermostats. It also offers a bunch of fun features, including a readout that changes depending on your proximity to the device. Even better, the Nest thermostat comes with an external temperature sensor that lets you prioritize the readings in a specific room (or part of a room). This allowed WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell to tune the device to her toddler’s bedroom to keep it from getting too stuffy. The larger screen size is also a noticeable upgrade from previous generations, she noted.

    • Photograph: Simon Hill

    • Photograph: Simon Hill

    Google

Nest Cam Outdoor 2K (Wired, 2nd Gen)

The Nest Cam Outdoor 2K requires a little installation, sure: You’ll need to screw in the mount and run a cable. But the cam offers 2K video quality and two-way audio, and doesn’t waste your time with a string of ambiguous notifications like a lot of outdoor cameras: It can accurately detect people, animals, and vehicles. The camera offers sharp video with a 152-degree field of view. It’s the wired outdoor cam that WIRED reviewer Simon Hill recommends above all others—but note that while notifications and live feed don’t require a subscription, you’ll need a $10- or $20-a-month subscription to access more advanced features that include detection of Familiar Faces and 30 to 60 days of video history. Anyway, it’s 20 percent off for Black Friday at the Home Depot, alongside sales on a whole host of other smart home devices.

    Buy-One-Get-One Deals on DeWalt Tools

A few tools from home improvement staple DeWalt are on sale for buy-one-get-one at the moment. It’s a bit tough to sort out on the Home Depot’s site, but essentially you’ve got a mix and match of a few select DeWalt tools.

Buy one, and any of the other tools is free. This includes the 13-Inch Cordless String Trimmer ($139), the 20V Cordless Leaf Blower ($179), the 20V MAX XR Cordless Brushless Jigsaw ($239), and the 20V MAX Cordless Brushless Circular Saw ($229)

Aside from that BOGO deal, you can get a free DeWalt tool with the purchase of a battery, or a free DeWalt battery with the purchase of a tool, as detailed here. Or, kinda most of the rest of the DeWalt toolkit is on sale this month for somewhere between 20 percent and 50 percent off. It’s not the steepest discount on the list, but might I suggest WIRED’s absolute favorite drill and driver kit, on sale now for $50 off?

DeWalt cordless drill set and bag

    Photograph: Home Depot

    DeWalt

    20V Max 1/2-Inch Cordless Drill

The Home Depot Milwaukee Tools for 50 Percent Off

During the Home Depot’s month-long Black Friday sale, you can also opt to go with buy-one-get-one or 50-percent-off deals on a number of Milwaukee tools. WIRED Reviewer Scott Gilbertson is already on record as loving the Milwaukee Tool ecosystem as a smart investment—to make use of Milwaukee’s excellent battery tech. He now owns dozens, from impact guns to circular saws and a drywall screw gun.

Anyway, the most essential tool in the kit, Milwaukee’s M18 Fuel Brushless Cordless Hex Impact Driver ($179), is on a buy-one-get-one sale alongside other select Milwaukee tools as part of a buy-one-get-one deal that also includes Milwaukee’s brushless cordless grinder ($229) and cordless personal inflator ($199). Other tools include free batteries with select tools, or vice versa.

It’s not always easy when browsing the general site to see which tools are on the BOGO deal, but click the button below and take note of the tools marked “Free With Purchase.”

Buy-One-Get-One Makita, Ryobi, and Ridgid Tools

Once you’ve bought into a tool ecosystem, it’s kinda part of your life now: You’ve chosen a battery pack that will power a whole world of powered implements. Different WIRED staffers have their own preferences. For WIRED reviewers Julian Chokkattu and Pete Cottell both, their personal world is Makita. And Makita is one of the brands with a killer buy-one-get-one at the moment: Just buy one of the Makita tools here and you can select either a free battery pack, or a freebie among seven other Makita tools in the $200 range.

WIRED has not tested all these tools, but Ryobi has a similar deal, on its affordable tool sets, with a BOGO deal on multiple tools and batteries, including an 18-volt, oscillating, sanding, and cutting multitool ($79) for wall and panel work, and an impact wrench ($99).

Ridgid has a similar deal, with a different product set. Ridgid tool bundles with batteries are up to 60 percent off, especially a cordless blower deal with a battery starter kit for more than half off.

    Free Christmas Tree Delivery

I remember two things about Christmas-tree shopping as a kid, which was always the best and the worst day. Picking out the tree was, of course, plenty exciting. But then you had to load it. And you had to move it, after wrangling it into a pickup truck. Then you had to unload it, and get it into the house. By the time you’re clear of all that, you might as well just forget Christmas spirit.

Well, the internet is a many-splendored thing. The Home Depot is offering free delivery on Christmas trees during Black Friday, on anything from artificial trees (here’s the best-seller right now) to fresh-cut fir, which is already coming into stock but only from online-only vendors. (Or, if you’d rather, check out WIRED’s roundup of the best artificial Christmas trees, as tested by professionals.

Artificial trees or real ones show up at your doorstep at no additional charge, no pickup truck required. Because we already live in the future.

  • Top HBO Max Promo Codes for November 2025

    [ad_1]

HBO Max is not just for The Sopranos anymore (but it is the only place to stream The Sopranos). Subscription video service HBO Max not only has The Sopranos, but other content from the best entertainment libraries, including: Warner Bros., Discovery Channel, CNN, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Animal Planet, and other brands.

We at WIRED also watch a lot of content—obviously, because we are always testing TVs, soundbars, and streaming devices—and regularly round up our newest favorites from HBO Max so that you’ll know what to watch once you nab an HBO Max promo code. Whether you’re wanting to watch an HBO original series like Succession or a smash hit movie like Barbie, HBO Max has the content you’re looking for, and WIRED has the perfect promo codes to help you save on these sometimes-pricey subscription plans.

50% Off HBO Max Promo Code for Students

Students rejoice, you don’t have to try to mooch off your friends’ parents’ HBO Max subscriptions anymore when you want to rewatch Euphoria for the 15th time (…not speaking from personal experience or anything). HBO Max is offering a Student Discount, where you can save and get 50% off subscriptions with a promo code. This means the price is only $5 a month. This discounted plan is eligible for The HBO Max Basic With Ads monthly plan, so you’ll get unlimited access to all of HBO, hit series, movies, news, sports, and more on up to two devices at once.

Save 35% by Bundling HBO Max, Disney+ and Hulu

This deal is honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been thinking of switching as well, because with this Magic Bundle, you can get HBO Max, Disney+, and Hulu for just $17 a month. (which is crazy because I pay that much alone for my Hulu! Again, I’m convincing myself while writing this that I should switch to this plan.) This crazy good deal is for those three streaming services with ads, but you’ll be saving 35% on the original price. If you’re impatient like me, you can get the same deal without ads for $30 a month, which is definitely higher than with ads but you’re still saving almost $19 a month with this Evergreen deal.

HBO Max Deals: Save up to $41

Like other streaming services, HBO Max has different tiers at different prices for streaming, so you can choose which one fits you (or your “household;” wink) best. Basic with ads allows you to stream on two devices at once in full HD for $10 a month. Standard is midrange, where you get everything from the previous basic plus 30 available downloads so you can watch on the go, for $17 a month. If you are impatient and a movie/TV buff, you might want to choose the premium, where you can stream on four devices at once, have 4k Ultra HD video quality, Dolby Atmos immersive audio, and 100 downloads to watch on the go for $21 a month.

HBO Max November 2025 New Shows and Films

HBO Max is known for being one of the most heralded platforms in entertainment. These new shows and films on HBO Max are sure to be a hit too. We’re most excited for Task, a new series set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia, where an FBI agent heads a task force aiming to end the violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man. There’s also a new GOT-spin off series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, premiering January 18. Taking place a century before the events of Game of Thrones, set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory. There’s also Chair Company from the oddball mind of Tim Robinson, and IT: Welcome to Derry, a spin off set in the IT universe for fans of horror.

Stream Sports Games for Free With Your HBO Max Subscription

As an added bonus, you can also stream live sports through the B/R Sports add-on at no extra cost. This includes super popular events from the NBA, NHL, March Madness, MLB, U.S. Soccer, Bellator, and premier cycling events. Act soon though, because after the promo period, the add-on will be available for $10 a month.

Watch Your Favorite Shows on HBO Max for Free

Because HBO knows how tempting (and sexy) teasing can be, folks can sample episodes of new and fan-favorite original steamy series, like Euphoria, Industry, or The Idol for free without a subscription. When you inevitably get hooked (too soon after the Euphoria reference?) on that sweet, sweet content, you’ll need an HBO Max subscription to stream the full library. To continue to tease, you can stream nearly endless options, like House of the Dragon from the wildly popular Game of Thrones series, Dune, and my personal faves: The Last of Us, The Penguin, and Hacks, right now. Hurry, you don’t want to miss out on the shows everyone is talking about around the proverbial water cooler.

  • The Nike x Hyperice Hyperboot Is $200 Off

    [ad_1]

For the first time, the Nike x Hyperice Hyperboot is on sale. The recovery boots are $200 off—normally $899, now $699—through December 1. They’re also HSA/FSA eligible. Normally, I’d point you toward the Normatec 3 Legs; they cost the same and offer more leg coverage, but at this discounted price, the Hyperice Hyperboot’s portability and comfort are a hard deal to pass up.

The discount is part of Hyperice’s Black Friday sale, which runs from November 20 to December 1. Stay tuned, as we’ll be tracking all the best Hyperice holiday deals as they roll out.

    • Photograph: Kristin Canning

    Nike × Hyperice

    Hyperboot

Hyperice’s Normatec recovery boots are a favorite among athletes, but their one downside is that you have to stay put while using them. The Hyperboots pack the same air compression tech as the Normatecs, but in a wearable, high-top design, courtesy of Nike. You can get a foot massage while you do the dishes.

Each boot offer three levels of compression and heat (up to 125 degrees Fahrenheit), adjustable via a built-in control panel. The two sync automatically when worn together, and battery life is about 90 minutes per charge. They’re IP54 rated, meaning they’re dust- and splash-resistant, but not waterproof.

Reviewer Kristin Canning tested the boots on her drive back home after a day of snowboarding and said it was a game changer. She could flush out lactic acid and thaw her toes before she even got home. While they’re recovery boots, they do have a warmup mode that makes them just as useful before workouts to get your blood flowing.

Canning did point out that the air pumps make an airplane-like hum, but it’s nothing too overwhelming. If you’ve already bought your season pass and are doing your one-leg squats and hip rotations, there’s no better time to grab a pair of the boots that will keep your legs fresh all the way through March.

  • This Beats Pill Bluetooth Speaker Has Upgraded Features, and It’s Just $100

    [ad_1]

While the Beats Pill used to be a common sight around parties and campfires, it slowly fell out of favor as Bluetooth speakers with better battery life and more advanced features hit the scene. In 2024, Apple decided to update the Pill, and it was a big jump in terms of catching up, or even passing the competition. That updated model, with bigger sound, more longevity, and a raft of mobile-focused features, is marked down by $50 at both Amazon and Best Buy, bringing the price down to just $100.

    • Photograph: Ryan Waniata

    • Photograph: Ryan Waniata

    • Photograph: Ryan Waniata

Beats speakers and headphones have a signature sound, and the updated Pill is no different. It’s decidedly bass-forward, although Apple’s influence has smoothed out some of the sharper edges that can result in that decision. Our reviewer Ryan Waniata wrote a really in-depth breakdown of the sound across several genres in his review, in case you want details about how it matches with your musical preferences. There’s no equalizer, so you’re stuck with the sound it comes out of the box with, for better or worse.

The newer Pill is also more capable of adventuring than its predecessors. It has a new IP67 dust and waterproof rating, which should make it better for your beach trips, even if it isn’t quite as rugged as some of our other favorite Bluetooth speakers. It has super-long battery life, though, with a quoted 24 hours of charge at half volume, and even better at low volumes. It can charge your other devices with the built-in USB-C port as well.

Like the older Pills that came before it, the newer model comes in a handful of both subtle and eye-catching colors. I spotted the discounted price on the classic Black, Light Gray, and Dark Gray, as well as the bolder Champagne Gold and Statement Red options on Amazon, but your mileage may vary at other retailers.

Despite some minor quibbles, this is a really excellent speaker with a signature sound profile that Beats fans know and love. If that doesn’t sound like you, make sure to check out our full roundup of the best Bluetooth speakers for some alternatives.

  • Gear News of the Week: Fairphone Lands in the US, and WhatsApp Is Finally on the Apple Watch

    [ad_1]

The only smartphone manufacturer with a 10/10 iFixit repairability score is finally bringing its products to the US, but it isn’t starting with its phones. Netherlands-based Fairphone announced this week that it will mark its expansion into the US with the Fairbuds XL, its repairable over-ear headphones. It’ll be available on Amazon later this month.

Fairphone says it achieved 61 percent revenue growth in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, though this is likely attributed to the launch of The Fairphone (Gen 6)—the company doesn’t release a new phone every year. It sold more than 100,000 units in 2024, including phones and audio products.

Right-to-repair laws have been cropping up all over the US, and Fairphone smartphones are the easiest to repair. The company provides a screwdriver, sells spare parts for years, and offers long-term software support. Its devices may not be the flashiest or the most powerful, but they are a more sustainable solution, also ensuring fair mining practices and wages for workers in its supply chain.

Bringing its smartphone over to the US is a little more complicated than headphones, as it requires carrier certifications, but Fairphone tells WIRED it’s in “advanced discussions” with select retailers and carriers.

WhatsApp Arrives on the Apple Watch

    Courtesy of Meta

Meta seems to be on a quest to finally bring its apps to other platforms. A few months ago, it launched an Instagram app for the iPad; now we’re getting WhatsApp on the Apple Watch. Rather than just mirroring your notifications and sending basic replies, now you can read full messages on the Apple Watch, record and send voice messages, see who’s calling, send emoji reactions to messages, and see more of the chat history on the screen.

It syncs with your iPhone, so you don’t need to set it up as a companion device. You can’t take calls on the watch itself or even answer them; you can see who is calling and decline. It also doesn’t seem as though you can add the WhatsApp app as a complication.

Motorola’s Cheapest Phone Now Has 5G

It’s a little earlier than usual, but Motorola’s latest budget phones are here: the Moto G 2026 and Moto G Play 2026. They share a similar look and aren’t too different from the design language Motorola has employed on its 2025 Moto G devices. What’s most notable is that the Moto G Play will have 5G support, making it one of the cheapest handsets with 5G at $170.

Both phones have 6.7-inch 120-Hz LCD screens, big 5,200-mAh batteries, and IP52 water resistance. They’re powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 processor with 4 GB of RAM, but they differ in storage size, with the Moto G offering 128 GB of internal storage and the Play with 64 GB (both are expandable with a microSD). Cameras are the other place where the two phones diverge, with a 50-MP main sensor on the Moto G and a 32-MP sensor on the Play. Yes, they still have headphone jacks.

Motorola says the Moto G Play will arrive first on November 13 at Motorola, Best Buy, and Amazon for $170, and the $200 Moto G launches on December 11 at Motorola’s website first, then at Best Buy and Amazon on January 15.

  • Do Not Jump Into an Ice Bath Before Your 12-Mile Run, and Other Cold Plunge Tips

    [ad_1]

You’d think cold plunging would be a straightforward task. Strip down to your swim suit, take a controlled breath, and calmly get into the freezing water to see how long you can last. But as with any wellness trend that purports to offer myriad physical benefits, there are important caveats to consider.

The experts suggest that launching yourself into a cold plunge pool at the right time can make all the difference to how you feel and how effectively you work out. It can also change, depending on what type of exercise you have planned. If you’ve invested in one of the best cold plunge pools, or simply want to make use of the ice bath in your local gym, here’s what the experts suggest to gain the best results from your cold-plunge practice.

    Jump to Section

    Why Cold Plunge?

Immersing your body in ice-cold water may sound like a fun thing to do when you’re too hot and on vacation in the Bahamas. But on a rainy workday in midwinter, it fast loses its appeal. When carried out responsibly, the practice of getting into water between 10 to 15 degrees Celsius (50–60 Fahrenheit) for one to five minutes after a workout can be very beneficial for some, however.

“Cold plunging can be done in a dedicated plunge pool, an ice bath, or even a cold, natural body of water,” says Mohammed Enayat, a general practitioner and founder of longevity clinic HUM2N. “While some people try it purely for the invigorating feeling, there is now solid scientific evidence that cold-plunging offers a number of health benefits. Studies have shown that cold immersion can reduce muscle soreness, support recovery post-exercise, stimulate circulation, and boost your mood by triggering the release of endorphins and norepinephrine.”

Enayat also notes that cold plunging may also turn white fat into beige or brown fat, which is the “good fat” that burns calories and generates heat.

While these mind and body health benefits sound enticing, when you cold plunge matters, and it can have an effect on how successfully you train. It’s also important to note that cold plunging isn’t right for everyone. If you have heart or circulation issues, it can put sudden stress on your heart and nervous system. If you have any health concerns or are unsure whether you can cold-plunge, you should always consult your doctor before dipping into the ice.

    Where to Cold Plunge

The beauty of ice bathing is that you don’t need to broadcast your plunge on socials to enjoy the process. You don’t need an expensive gym membership either. For most, it can be easy to cold plunge from the comfort and privacy of your own home in a number of ways. Online, you can find plenty of dedicated cold plunge pools for use in or around your home and yard. CalmMax, Hydragun and Sun Home Saunas are just a few of the brands that sell easy-to-inflate pop-up cold-plunge pools with prices starting at $50.

You will have to pay a premium for designs with a dedicated filter that can also chill the water to a precise temperature, however. Otherwise, you’ll have to make use of a cold tap and a few buckets of ice.

  • How to style cargo pants like a fashion editor

    [ad_1]

Knowing how to style cargo pants is every well-dressed eclectic girly’s secret weapon. Though the functional garments were once associated with army cadets, the last few trend cycles have shifted perceptions. Now cargo pants can look put together with virtually any item, or aesthetic, in your wardrobe – if you’re willing to take the risk.

You can still wear cargo pants classically – with a hoodie or bomber jacket, for example – but they’re also easy to style with more unexpected pieces. Scandi girls love to go experimental by wearing the loose-fitting bottoms with a striped button-front shirt and cowboy boots. Those with a more sports-adjacent style, on the other hand, often mix theirs with graphic knitwear and basketball jerseys. And though cargos are undeniably boyish in nature, they also pair well with spicy Club Classics like bra tops and bustiers. (Notice I said “pair well,” not “match” – because when styling cargo pants, intentional clashing is half the fun.)

It’s these delightful contrasts that make cargos such an exciting piece to style. Like jeans, they go with everything. And unlike jeans, they give every outfit a palpable air of coolness. So with that, I invite you to peruse the most stylish ways to style cargo pants for yourself with these outfit ideas for spring, summer, autumn, winter, and every transitional season in between.

    With tweed

    Edward Berthelot/Getty Images

If you’re looking for an editor-tested method that’s been proven to withstand the most brutal conditions (read “February’s New York Fashion Week”), cargos and tweed should be a top contender. I personally wore this look for NYFW’s fall-winter 2026 season, and it was one of my most complimented outfits of the week. Though I chose to dress up in a fuchsia lady jacket and leopard cargos, the opportunities for colour/print mixing are pretty much endless.

  • Don’t Sleep on This Brooklinen Flash Sale

    [ad_1]

Winter bedding is different from summer bedding—thicker, loftier, softer, cozier—and now’s the perfect time to upgrade thanks to Brooklinen’s Flash Sale. We test a lot of bedding at WIRED for our numerous sleep-related buying guides, and Brooklinen is mentioned in nearly all of them. Its bedding is high-quality, aesthetically pleasing, and functions like it should. The brand hosts relatively frequent sales, but it’s rare that so many of our top picks are discounted at the same time. Many of our favorite bedding items we’ve hand-tested on our own beds are on sale through November 10. If you’re in the market for new sheets, quilts, or even a down comforter, we’ve highlighted our recommendations below.

Good bedding starts with good sheets. You can get 20 percent off the Luxe Sateen Core Sheet set in 21 colors across six sizes; they’re some of our favorite sateen sheets thanks to their silky, cooling texture and thick, quick-to-warm weave. They’re slick and slinky, and they warm up faster than traditional cotton sheets. If you don’t love sateen or you don’t need the warmth it provides, there’s also a deal on crispy, crinkly percale sheets that WIRED bedding expert Nena Farrell recommends.

    Brooklinen

    Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set

We like these silky, warm sateen sheets more than many others we’ve tried. They’re a better pick if it gets cold outside.

    Brooklinen

    Percale Core Sheet Set

These super-crisp sheets are cooling, so better suited to climates that don’t get as cold—and are available in an organic version for a bit more money.

Once you’ve upgraded your sheets, top them with a down comforter or quilt. For folks in colder climates, the Brooklinen All-Season Down Comforter ($60 off) is a worthy choice. I tested it during the coldest months of the year in northern Illinois, and it kept me plenty warm while offering that classic, crinkly, hotel-like experience. The baffle box construction keeps the down evenly dispersed, and it’s lofty without feeling too lightweight. You could also go with the pricier ultra-warm option, but that was almost too warm for me. It’d be nice if you need a heavy comforter or you run very cold. For additional blanket options, Brooklinen’s AirWeave line has a few contenders on sale, all of which I’ve liked.

This lightweight blanket is great to have around for extra-cold nights where you just need a bit more weight. It’s breathable but still warm.

  • Branch’s Sale of the Year Brings Great Discounts to Our Favorite Home Office Gear

    [ad_1]

It’s hard to find home office furniture that looks great at a palatable price. That’s why you’ll find Branch’s products among our top recommendations in many of our guides. Whether it’s an office chair or a standing desk, the company’s products look good, work well, and are reasonably priced. That makes its Sale of the Year all the more appealing.

From now through December 3, you can snag 15 percent off sitewide at branchfurniture.com, and 20 percent off bundles (like if you pair a desk and chair together). You may need to make sure you add code BFCM to your cart, though it should be there automatically. Not sure where to start? I’ve tested several Branch products over the years; here’s what’s worth the cash.

    Branch

    Ergonomic Chair Pro

This is my top recommendation for most people in my Best Office Chairs guide. There are dozens of cheaper chairs on the market, but it’s hard to find an option under $500 that’s comfortable and highly adjustable while also being attractive and offering various style options (Branch now even offers it with bouclé upholstery). The headrest is optional—I don’t think you need it—but you can adjust the seat depth, the lumbar support can be aligned and pushed inward, and you can tilt the seat forward, too.

An orange and aluminum modern designed chair

    Courtesy of Branch

On a tight budget? You won’t find a better chair at this $300 mark. The Ergonomic Chair has many of the same adjustment points as the Pro, including seat depth, and has a similar design. Some of those finer adjustments aren’t available, like pushing in the lumbar or the upright seat tilt. It generally won’t keep your back as upright as possible, but if you like to recline a bit, this is a great buy at this price.

Front view of blue office chair in a room soft pink walls and hardwood floors

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

I think the Branch Ergonomic Chair Pro is the better buy, but the Verve is arguably more stylish. It doesn’t have all the adjustment capabilities as the Pro, and my biggest gripe with it is the fixed arms. It’s comfy, but not a great option for folks who need a wider seat.

Image may contain: Furniture, Chair, Armchair, Computer, Computer Hardware, Computer Keyboard, Electronics, and Hardware

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

Like to cozy up in a chair on a crisp fall day and read a book? That’s pretty much what the Softside feels like. The arms are fixed and box you in, and there’s not much to adjust on the chair, but it’s very cushy and comfortable. It’s decently built for the money, but if you’re prone to back pain or generally want to improve your seating experience, you may want to look at the ergonomic options above.

    Branch chair in an office

    Photograph: Branch

I’ve tested several active chairs, and I don’t think they’re worth the money. The experts I spoke to also said you’re better off just going for a walk than spending your time on one of these wobbly chairs. However, don’t think of Branch’s Saddle as an active chair or as “posture-improving.” Just think of it as a really nice stool. I like how the sides slope down, allowing your thighs to rest on them; it’s one of the most comfortable stools I’ve tested. You may not want to spend hours on the Saddle, but if you’re at a desk for a short time, this is a nice alternative, and it takes up very little room.

    Four Leg Standing Desk

Standing desks can be a little ugly due to their standard T-shaped legs. This Branch Four Leg Standing Desk breaks the mold with an attractive design that makes it look like any other desk. The telescoping legs have motors that smoothly move the desk up and down

Branch Duo Standing Desk with light brown top and white legs that has a small cabinet, black cutting mat, and lamp on the top

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

Branch’s Duo is a great compact desk if you’re limited on space, though the company now has more size options. I like that Branch has several accessories tailor-made for this desk, including the desk tray, desk hook, headphone stand, desk perch, and even a drawer. Raising and lowering the desk via the paddles is easy, but setting up the height presets can be clunky.

Branch Laptop Stand on a desk

    Branch

    Adjustable Laptop Stand

A desk for your laptop, this Branch Adjustable Laptop Stand is our top recommendation in our Best Laptop Stands guide. It can lift your screen as high as 7 inches above the desk, can be adjusted to almost any viewing angle, and it’s sturdy, so the laptop doesn’t bounce or shift during use. Adjusting the angles and height requires a bit of effort, but that just makes it more stable.

    Other Great Home Office Gear

Outside of desks and office chairs, Branch has several accessories to kit out your workstation. It also doesn’t just sell its own goods on its storefront. You can find items from other smaller companies as well. Here are some other goodies I’ve tested and like that are also on sale.

Front view of Branch Clamp On, a white electrical power strip gripping the edge of a wooden desk

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

Why fish around for outlets underneath your desk when you can have them readily accessible on the desktop? Branch’s Clamp-On Power is an easy add to any desk or shelf. You get three AC outlets, a USB-A port, and a USB-C port. It’s UL-certified, has a six-foot cord, and comes in black or white.

Image may contain: Furniture, Chair, Appliance, Device, Electrical Device, Refrigerator, Home Decor, Rug, and Filing Cabinet

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

    Branch

    Small Filing Cabinet

If you need to store physical files or just want some under-desk storage for various odds and ends, the Small Filing Cabinet from Branch doesn’t take up much room. The wheels make it easy to place in a room, and assembly doesn’t take very long.

Branch Most Modest Desk Caddy in dark green, a rectangular container with components and a wooden handle, sitting on a yellow metal locker

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

    Most Modest Elin Desk Caddy

You might need a large empty space for this desk caddy because it’s much bigger than it looks, but it’s also amazingly attractive. There are four little areas for your pens and pencils, then a cavernous room for notebooks and papers you want to store on the front and back. It’s like a toolbox for your desk! It’s made from aluminum with a white oak handle and comes in several fun colors.

Branch Mustard Made Standard Locker in bright yellow beside a chess board in a room

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

Mustard Made Standard, Lowdown, and Midi Lockers

Mustard Made’s metal lockers are on the pricey side, but they’re fairly easy to assemble (just a little time-consuming). I’ve tried several sizes and designs of these lockers, and they’re stylish! There are several colors you can choose from, and there’s plenty of space inside to house all your home office gear (aka board games).

  • Score a Big Discount on Razer’s Ultra-Thin But High-Performing Blade 14 Gaming Laptop

    [ad_1]

Razer’s updated Blade 14 with an OLED may not have been available for long, but that won’t stop you from snagging a sharp discount on this excellent gaming laptop. The model we reviewed with an RTX 5060 is marked down by $750 at Best Buy, while the upgraded model with an RTX 5070 and 32 GB of memory is marked down by $900. Both are excellent deals, particularly for a laptop that was updated within the last few months.

    • Photograph: Luke Larsen

    • Photograph: Luke Larsen

    • Photograph: Luke Larsen

    • Photograph: Luke Larsen

Razer continues to iterate on the Razer Blade 14, but the biggest change over time has been the chassis. What already started as a very thin laptop has continued to shrink, and is now just an incredible 0.62 inches thin, which is particularly impressive considering the gaming hardware found under the hood. The battery life matches the portability too, breaking 10 hours in a local video-playback test.

This slim and attractive laptop has serious gaming chops. The mobile version of the RTX 5060 was comfortably between 30 and 60 fps at 2,560 x 1,200, a nice compromise in resolution that’s made even sweeter when you engage DLSS for frame generation and dynamic scaling. The CPU is a Ryzen AI 9 365, a power-efficient chip that’s surprisingly capable in CPU-intensive workloads and games. It’s paired up with 16 GB of memory for the RTX 5060 version, or 32 GB for the RTX 5070 model. Both sport a 1TB SSD too, so no need to worry about storage unless you play Call of Duty.

While the updated OLED display isn’t the most pristine that we’ve tested in terms of raw numbers, it is a huge jump over the mini-LED panels typically found in older Razer Blade models. Individual pixel backlighting means black levels are basically perfect, but the Blade’s screen struggles a bit with max brightness, hitting just 620 nits in HDR, while competitors can touch 1,000 nits, helping with HDR performance. Still, you’ll likely spot a big difference while gaming and watching media over mini-LED or IPS panels, and you’re just compromising when it comes to color accuracy and brightness.

While I think the discounts offered here make the Razer Blade 14 an exceptional buy, you might wander over to our list of favorite gaming laptops to see what else is around.

Website Director, Bianca London, Fashion Editor, Charlie Teather, Commerce Photo Editor, Neamh Randall, and Freelance Contributor, Rebecca Cope, all became first time (and in Bianca’s case, second-time too!) mums over the last few years, and – alongside, you know, prepping for one of humankind’s toughest physical feats and the subsequent life-altering reality of a tiny new human to care for 24/7 – rediscovering how to dress a body that was changing every single day posed a real challenge.

We didn’t want to lose our personal style identities – which, conveniently for those of you reading this for inspo, are all very different to one another’s – but we also wanted to celebrate and not just ‘disguise’ this incredible moment in our lives. And if we were finding this balance hard to strike, after working our whole adult lives in the fashion and magazine industry, we figured others must be too. So we made it something of a personal/professional mission to compile the ultimate guides. If for nothing more than for us to refer back to if/when we ever do this pregnancy thing again, because (spoiler alert) baby brain is no joke, people…

How we tested the best maternity trousers

Our editors tried a plethora of maternity trousers throughout every trimester of their pregnancies and marked them on style, comfort and longevity. Whilst we quickly grew out of some of the more purse-friendly offerings, we did find plenty that lasted right until our due dates and beyond (because every new mum knows your body can take months to readjust to its pre-pregnancy shape).

Trousers designed for mums-to-be tend to fall into two styles – they’re either designed with a thick band, usually made from a jersey fabric that covers (and stretches over) your stomach, or they’re cut to sit below the bump with an elasticated waistband. Comfort preferences aside, we found that maternity pants with a band looked best teamed with a loose-fitting shirt or jumper to skim over it, while those that sit below the bump looked great with a (stretchy) bodysuit or fitted top.

PSA: Some of the styles you’ll find below aren’t strictly maternity, either. We made a conscious effort to invest in regular/mainline collection pieces that worked with our bumps – i.e. items with a lot of stretch – that we could continue wearing after the baby came, in a bid to be less wasteful.

  • ‘This was right next to the Justice stuff’: Walmart shopper heads to the girls’ aisle. The clothes on the rack have her demanding answers

    [ad_1]

A lot of the time, clothing is just a matter of taste—but has Walmart gone too far with its new girl clothes?

In a viral TikTok, which has amassed 28,100 views, Sadiya (@its_sadiyaaa) panned the camera around what appeared to be a child’s clothing section, which was accompanied by on-screen text reading: “WTF is this @Walmart.”

Clothing included in the section includes a white lace dress, a pink lace bralette, a pink lace crop top, a plaid miniskirt, and a black lace bralette/bodice.

Attached to these items was a label saying “My Sister’s Closet” with a size range of 7-18.

In Walmart terms, the 7-18 clothing range is known as its ‘Big Girl’ selection, which is specifically designed for adolescent and pre-teen girls.

For commenters, this begged an important question: are these clothes really appropriate?

Sadiya didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via TikTok comment.

@its_sadiyaaa Am I the only one who thinks this shouldn’t be in the girls section @Walmart #wtf ♬ original sound – lea ⭐️

“I saw these the other day and said the exact same thing,” one commenter wrote. “A CHILD does not need an off-the-shoulder crop top. Weird.”

Sharing a photo of similar items, in what appeared to be the same section, a second commenter added, “I took a pic of the same! This was right next to the Justice stuff. My Walmart has 4 types of women’s sections: kids, teens, adults, and plus size. This was in the kids…”

A third echoed, “YES! I seen these a few months ago and it’s so predatory. Why is it named that and why do clothes marketed towards little girls ages 4 to 12 look like that?”

However, other commenters didn’t see the problem.

“What is weird about this?” a fourth asked. “The clothes are cute.”

“Out of pure curiosity, have you ever met an 11-14 year old?” a fifth queried. “They do not fit women’s clothes and still do not want to wear unicorns. [This stuff] covers up wayyy more than I was at 13-15 anyway.”

A sixth agreed, saying, “That’s literally the pre-teen section. What’s the issue?”

    This isn’t a new problem

It isn’t just the ‘Big Girl’ section of Walmart that’s worrying people. Earlier this year, a disgruntled parent called out Walmart for stocking crop tops for young girls.

In the TikTok, she showed footage of folded crop tops on shelves and addressed Walmart directly, saying, “I just want to know why every shirt that’s in the little girls’ section is a cropped shirt. It’s so weird. Definitely, not OK. Walmart does better. Every one of them is a crop. Absolutely not OK.”

Walmart didn’t immediately respond to The Mary Sue’s request for comment via contact form.

  • We Traveled All Over the World to Test These Carry-On Bags

    [ad_1]

    Compare Top 13 Carry-On Suitcases

    Honorable Mentions

We try a lot of bags! Here are others that just did not earn a place in our top picks.

    Photograph: Martin Cizmar

Carl Friedrik Carry-On for $645: This British brand positions itself as a quiet luxury bag. It has a distinctive appearance, with leather accents and typical high-end features like smoothly rolling Hinamoto wheels, a built-in lock, and well-functioning latches. This is what you get if you want a classy appearance but don’t want disgruntled baggage handlers to target your Rimowa.

Aer Carry-On for $299: Aer’s carry-on has very nice Hinamoto ball bearings as well as wheel locks, for when you’re taking the shuttle to the car rental office.

Casetify Bounce Suitcase for $699: Casetify’s phone cases always earn a spot in our phone case roundups because they’re cute and customizable. So is the company’s first piece of luggage, which is adorable and which you can monogram. Unfortunately, it’s also smaller and much more expensive than most of our other picks.

Beis Carry-On Roller for $268: WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell tried the viral Beis suitcase and loved its sleek looks, variety of colors, and extras like a built-in weight gauge and a retractable strap that lets you clip a backpack or duffel to the front.

Amazon Basics Expandable Hardside Carry-On for $52: Getting on a plane in two days and need a functional roller bag you don’t have to drop a lot of money on? This Amazon Basics bag will totally do the trick. The wheels certainly don’t roll like a Rimowa and the zippers far too often snag, but it’s very light and the textured ABS shell doesn’t scuff easily.—Martin Cizmar

Samsonite Outline Pro Carry-On for $210: This is a hard-side, four-wheeled spinner carry-on made from an outer shell of durable polypropylene. The interior fabric is made from 100 percent recycled plastic bottles, and it has a “WetPak” storage pocket for keeping damp items separated from the rest of your luggage.

    FAQs

Are you a recent convert to the carry-on life? Let us help you out.

What Is the 3-1-1 Rule for Carry-Ons?

The 3-1-1 rule is an easy mnemonic (supposedly) from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that refers to what liquids you can in a carry-on. You can bring liquids that are smaller than 3.4 ounces in one, clear, quart-sized bag, with one per person. I usually fit mine inside my toiletry bag, but many people put theirs in the external toiletry pocket for quick extraction if TSA needs to check.

Should I Get a Softshell or a Hardshell Suitcase?

Truthfully, quality hardware matters much more than the material. Any spendier suitcase with a better warranty will last you longer than a cheaper suitcase. Softshells usually have front pockets and they’re softer and easier to expand and squish into smaller compartments. However, the fabric can be permeable to water, and they’re easier to slash open. Hardshells are usually lighter, but you’re a little less flexible with regards to storage. I prefer softshells, but I don’t ever leave my luggage unattended.

What Size Suitcase Can I Bring?

If you take one tip away from this guide, let this be it: Save yourself the aggravation at the airport, check the size requirements for your airline, and grab a tape measure. If you’re in doubt, pick a soft-sided bag so you can squeeze it into the airline’s sizer box when you’re about to board. Each airline has different requirements; we’ve included several airlines here.

    Airline Size Requirements
    American 22 x 14 x 9 inches
    Ryanair 22 x 16 x 8 inches
    Delta 22 x 14 x 9 inches
    EasyJet 17.7 x 14 x 7.8 inches
    Alaska 22 x 14 x 9 inches
    Frontier 24 x 10 x 16 inches
    JetBlue 22 x 14 x 9 inches
    Air Canada 21.5 x 9 x 15.5 inches

Members of the Reviews team have taken at least two flights with each of the bags in this roundup. Each bag has different features, and we look at materials, weight, and size. We test the durability of the materials by stuffing bags into overhead bins and under seats. We check how well and how smoothly the wheels glide; if the handle feels sturdy and if it accommodates a wide range of heights; whether the straps are durable and can fit our hands; and if the zippers will stand up to frequent overstuffing.
