  • I Did a Nordstrom Deep Dive—29 Epic Sale Finds I’m Losing It Over

I Did a Nordstrom Deep Dive—29 Epic Sale Finds I’m Losing It Over

The best sales of the year have officially arrived now that Black Friday is here. The sheer volume of pieces to choose from can be overwhelming, so I’ve combed through the biggest sales of the season to highlight the very best items to add to your cart. That includes Nordstrom, where I did a deep dive to uncover the Black Friday sale items that are most noteworthy and likely won’t last very long before they sell out.

My short list includes wardrobe staples, such as Reformation pleated trousers and New Balance sneakers, that are already stocked in my closet and ready for a replacement. But I’ve also included pieces I’ve been eyeing for many months but haven’t splurged on yet. I’ll be adding Khaite’s strapless satin dress to my shopping cart first. Ahead, see the best Black Friday shopping finds from Nordstrom, according to this fashion editor.

  • 30 Nordstrom Black Friday Sale Finds That Politely Scream “Old Money”

30 Nordstrom Black Friday Sale Finds That Politely Scream “Old Money”

Even though it’s not technically Black Friday yet, the annual sale event is already well into its tenure, with deals on every website and in every store. Of course, some are better than others—that’s natural—and none is superior to Nordstrom’s, which is going on now and blowing every other sale out of the water.

After scrolling through thousands of red-marked products from the sale, one theme, in particular, stood out: wealth. No, the prices aren’t sky high, at least not on the pieces featured below. But you wouldn’t know that just by looking at them. In fact, all 30 of them look shockingly expensive and very “old money,” if you know what I mean. See for yourself just how expensive the selection appears by scrolling down and leaving no sartorial crumbs behind before the deals end after Thanksgiving.

For the past two hours, I’ve been scrolling, opening links in new tabs, and exploring which items from which brands are marked down, picking up every last crumb of the limited-time event in order to really and truly find the best pieces included in it. And while my wallet probably wishes I’d come up short, that’s the direct opposite of what I did.

From luxury discoveries from the likes of Saint Laurent, The Row, Proenza Schouler, and Interior to more contemporary buys from Theory, Nanushka, Tibi, and Citizens of Humanity, the 29 items below are on sale, in stock, and just a click away from being called yours. • In Their Cart: 18 Essential Buys, According to Sophia Roe

In Their Cart: 18 Essential Buys, According to Sophia Roe

As we head into winter and embark on the start of a new year in 2024, what can we expect to see more of on the best dressed style set? To look ahead to where style is headed in the coming months, we tapped stylist and creative Sophia Roe to share the pieces on her shopping list. Known for balancing her Scandinavian heritage with ’90s references and a touch of romanticism, Roe is weighing in with her essential buys of the season and sharing details about her just-launched homeware collection.

“The way I shop never changes with the seasons,” Roe tells Who What Wear. “My approach always stays the same. I look for timelessness, pieces of which I can mix in new ways by combining texture and textile, versatility, and sustainability. Sustainability is all about buying less by buying right.” This approach to shopping can be seen in Roe’s seasonal picks, including pieces such as a leather weekender bag intended for use everywhere from the office to the airport, an elegant maxi dress that can transition from winter to summer depending on the styling, and decorative pieces for the home that elevate ordinary everyday objects.

Roe’s approach to shopping for timeless fashion pieces also translates to home décor and is something she considered when designing a tableware collection with her mother, designer Louise Roe—the first time the mother-daughter pair has teamed up on a design collaboration. “My mother and I collaborate in numerous aspects of life, especially business. We are both so devoted to our passion, mine being fashion and my mother’s being interior design,” Roe explains. “Both our creative languages focus on materials and are appertain to our Scandinavian heritage, but I think I am probably more French than my mother in our approach aesthetically, and my mother [is] sharp and Nordic. I believe this combination made our collection harmonious and collaboration exciting.” Their blended aesthetics are apparent in pieces like the artisanal bowl inspired by vintage glassware and ceramic dessert plates that have been turned by hand. “The world of interior design is slow and does not rely on seasons. It’s meant to last for years and sometimes throughout generations,” she adds. Ahead, see Sophia Roe’s top shopping picks for the season and items from her home collection—all timeless pieces she plans to own for many years.

  • Velvet for the Holidays? Say Less—30 Luxe Buys to Elevate Your Winter Wardrobe

Velvet for the Holidays? Say Less—30 Luxe Buys to Elevate Your Winter Wardrobe

Unlike spring/summer or fall/winter—fashion seasons that see significant shifts year after year as trends change and designers test out new creative concepts—holiday collections don’t often jump around or change significantly from one November/December to the next. There are always a few Fair Isle sweaters, some sequins, and, of course, lots and lots of velvet. It’s a tradition I personally back 100%, specifically in regard to velvet.

The undeniably holiday-friendly fabric does evoke some images of my childhood, but when everyone and their sisters wear the same red or black velvet fit-and-flare dress this time of year, it also makes me immediately think of pure luxury. The clothes, shoes, and accessories outfitted with the textured material in 2023 are even more lavish than those that usually bubble up in my consciousness whenever the first signs of colder weather show face. Think bold-shouldered blazers and pencil skirts at Saint Laurent, dark-romance slip dresses at Rodarte, and body-con, well, everything at Alaïa. Below, shop the single most luxurious holiday-fashion trend of the year.

  • Why Wait for Black Friday When Shopbop’s Having an Epic Sale Right Now?

Why Wait for Black Friday When Shopbop’s Having an Epic Sale Right Now?

Shopbop certainly isn’t the only retailer doling out discounts this week. In fact, practically every single website I’ve logged onto in the last seven days has promoted some version of a sale in the lead up to Black Friday. That said, given Shopbop’s track record when it comes to markdowns, serving up some of the best sale offerings season after season, it’s kind of a no brainer to prioritize its promotional events when they arrive. Fortunately for you, you don’t have to wait long for that to happen, or at all. Right now, Shopbop’s slashing its prices on over 10,000 items until tomorrow night and if you know what’s good for you, you’ll drop whatever you’re doing and start adding red-marked pieces into your shopping cart.

Don’t worry—I’m not going to make you look through all of those items. There’s no time for that. Luckily, I did look every last one and in the process, cherry picking those finds that simply cannot go unseen. From Beaufille knits to Tory Burch handbags, scroll down to get in on the action happening right now during Shopbop’s very limited-time designer sale. I promise, you won’t regret dedicating a touch of time on this Thursday afternoon to score a serious deal.

  • I Did the Work Scrolling Through Nordstrom—43 Buys I Couldn’t Resist If I Tried

I Did the Work Scrolling Through Nordstrom—43 Buys I Couldn’t Resist If I Tried

If you’re looking for someone to tell you not to buy something, I’m probably not the best person to ask. And in the same way that I can far too easily justify your purchases, I’ll find any way to excuse my own. It’s a problem, I know, though it’s not one that I’m exactly working on. Case in point: my latest online-shopping excursion on Nordstrom.com. After hours of scrolling through the retailer’s new fall and winter arrivals, I’ve fully convinced myself that I don’t just want the 43 pieces below—I need them. And I’m more than ready to convince you that you need them too.

Really, I don’t think too much convincing will be necessary once you see them—perhaps just a little push—because in addition to being fall- and winter-ready, all of the hand-selected wardrobe items below are ridiculously good-looking. From It handbags by Staud, Saint Laurent, and Bottega Veneta to closet-building staples from Skims, Reformation, and Mango, I’m convinced that the selection ahead is utterly irresistible. Then again, *not* shopping was never my strong suit.

  • I’m Impatient—25 Cyber-Month Nordstrom Finds I’m Buying On Sale and *Way* Early

I’m Impatient—25 Cyber-Month Nordstrom Finds I’m Buying On Sale and *Way* Early

Though November’s going by fast, it’s not going by so fast that it’s already nearing Thanksgiving and the epic sales associated with it. You wouldn’t know that, though, if you looked at Nordstrom’s website, which has all but been taken over by Black Friday and Cyber Monday mania. All across the site are banners notifying sale-addicted shoppers like myself of discounts, be it a markdown on coats or discounts on dresses and boots.

With so many tempting, red-marked buys being thrown in my face, I being weak to a good sale, couldn’t resist scrolling through the retailer’s current selection for Cyber Month. And while I should be ashamed of my inability to be patient and wait for the big holiday event to kick off, I’m not, because who knows what finds I’ll have missed out on by holding off for two more weeks? I simply can’t take that risk, not when the winter-ready knits, outerwear, and shoes below are at risk. Shop the Nordstrom items I’m buying on sale and extremely early below.

  • It’s Go Time, People: Shopbop Just Restocked Its Levi’s Selection

It’s Go Time, People: Shopbop Just Restocked Its Levi’s Selection

When it comes to jeans, nobody does it better than Levi’s. Many denim brands want to act like theirs are better, and in some ways, perhaps they are. In terms of overall superiority, though, it’s hard to argue that anyone can beat a classic pair of 501 Levi’s, which is why it’s such a big deal that the original denim brand’s jeans are so affordable. Whereas most high-quality denim these days costs between $200 and $500, Levi’s are almost all in the under-$150 category. It’s kind of a miracle.

You know what else is a miracle? Finding the style you want in the color and size you want, especially from a retailer like Shopbop that can get them to your door with Amazon Prime–level shipping speed. Knowing that, you can imagine my excitement when I went to peruse its selection of Levi’s and found a shocking number of SKUs in stock. Naturally, I ran to my laptop to tell the world about it (after ordering a few restocks of my favorite pairs, of course). Scroll down to snag a pair of restocked Levi’s from Shopbop before they’re all gone.

  • It’s Almost Party Season: 40 Showstopping Finds Already in My Cart

It’s Almost Party Season: 40 Showstopping Finds Already in My Cart

I know that Halloween has quite literally just ended, but now that it is November, I am in full holiday-season mode. I’m planning my travels, booking après-ski reservations, and, of course, planning all of my upcoming winter looks. The most exciting are my holiday-party looks. I’m a sucker for all of the cliché fabrics and motifs that pop up around this time of year. The velvet, sequins, bows, and feathers—I can’t get enough of it. It’s clothing that puts you in a good mood and makes you want to celebrate, and while my holiday-party calendar is still looking a little thin (yes, that is me dropping a hint that you should throw a holiday party and invite yours truly), I’m not letting that stop me from getting a few good holiday-party outfits on deck. When I do receive a party invite, I’ll be ready.

I went to some retailers that I know are stocking up on tons of chic items to guarantee you’re the best dressed at your upcoming holiday festivities. Reformation is always at the top of my list for any party look, and the brand is not playing around when it comes to holiday-season pieces. H&M’s holiday accessories are so good I almost wanted to gatekeep them.

Keep scrolling to see the 40 holiday party–ready items I’m loving right now.

I Refuse to Look Frumpy This Winter—15 Chic Coat Looks I’ll Be Copying 24/7

As much as I am a summer person, from the outdoor dining opportunities to the borderline risqué outfit options, nothing gets me more amped up than shopping for coats. After growing up in Chicago, where my wet hair would freeze on my way to school and going anywhere involved at least 10 minutes of bundling on layers come December, I’ve gathered a shocking amount of knowledge about what goes into the perfect outerwear. While I didn’t so much care when I was 15 about looking frumpy in my two pairs of pants and three undercoat layers, I do now.

If you, too, refuse to look like a marshmallow when winter arrives but don’t want to risk turning into an icicle on the first cold day, you’ve come to the right place. Not only will I be doling out buy-worthy outerwear, but I’ve also supplied you with 15 sleek and not-at-all-bulky coat looks to use as inspiration. Don’t worry—you can thank me later. Scroll down to get a head start on your winter top-layer game. Trust me. When 30º arrives, you’ll be happy you got the job done early.

  • The Tantalizingly Pretty Shoe Trend Fashion People Are Losing It Over This Fall

The Tantalizingly Pretty Shoe Trend Fashion People Are Losing It Over This Fall

After fashion month, it’s pretty much commonplace that everything floating around the style side of Instagram and TikTok is dangerously pretty. From handbags to jewelry items to dresses, the content that came out of September’s shows and street style is designed to tantalize and make you want to buy things. It’s as simple as that. One thing that no fashion person I’ve met is capable of resisting at the moment is a pair of kitten-heel pumps à la Prada (yes, I’m talking about the Bunny Floras), The Row, and more.

If you somehow haven’t noticed them yet, go back through a few of your favorite fashion people’s Instagram feeds from the last—I don’t know—three months. I guarantee you’ll spot at least one pair of one-inch-tall pumps of some form, whether it’s a super-classic pair like the ones women in the ’50s and ’60s wore with circle skirts and matching opera coats (or was that only in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?) or modern slingbacks with various embellishments, like tiny crystals, bite-size buckles, and toe rings. Whatever you find, I already know it’ll be gorgeous and impossible to avoid buying. That’s practically a given when it comes to this trend.

    Shopbop Just Soft-Launched a Wardrobe-Defining Sale—Shop These 27 Finds First

If my TikTok FYP is correct, pretty much every person on the planet is feeling like absolute garb-age—it’s French for trash—after their weekend of Halloween celebrations, and I’m here to tell you that you can drink all the Liquid I.V. you want, but nothing will cure your post-holiday woes like retail therapy, especially when it involves 1) a sale and 2) Shopbop. It’s all about thinking ahead instead of about your current state of mind, and securing a great deal will make next week (or even earlier, because *Prime*) when your order arrives feel really good.

The only thing is that unlike the rest of your responsibilities that you probably pressed pause on in order to dress up as Justin and Hailey Bieber at her Krispy Kreme x Rhode event, a race-car driver, or Barbie this weekend, you can’t put this sale off, not that you’ll want to once you see the marked-down offerings I’ve cooked up below. That’s because the sneaky sale that Shopbop just launched is only running for four days, meaning your chances of filling your fall wardrobe with unreal fashion finds for a fraction of their normal prices will go from 100% all the way down to 0% if you let it end on November 4 without making your move. Don’t be that person—scroll through my curation of can’t-miss deals below.

  • I’ve Had It With Frumpy Sweaters—36 Off-The-Shoulder Knits I’m Buying Instead

I’ve Had It With Frumpy Sweaters—36 Off-The-Shoulder Knits I’m Buying Instead

Confession time… I have a contentious relationship with sweaters. Yes, I’m aware that knitwear is an unspoken requirement for building a winter wardrobe. And there are some knitwear styles that I can’t imagine living without—e.g., striped jumpers, turtlenecks, and cashmere knits. But to say that all sweaters are created equal would be a flat-out lie. If we’re all honest, some can be, well, downright frumpy. When living in an ultra-cold climate (albeit New York City, Paris, or Copenhagen), the last thing you want is for your clothing to make you feel any worse than the weather. Sadly, oversized sweaters do just that. So what’s a girl to do? Start by ditching the dowdy sweater silhouttes.

Don’t get it twisted; there’s a time and place for oversized knits. But if you’re reading this story, chances are you’ve fretted over how non-flattering your knitwear looks for hours. Luckily, there’s a solution: off-the-shoulder sweaters. As simple as it might sound, choosing this stylish silhouette over other more “practical” styles can make a world of difference. Need proof? Ahead, you’ll find a few examples of how fashion people wear this knitwear—spoiler: they come in every form from bodysuits to dresses. Plus, I’ve compiled the 36 best off-the-shoulder sweaters based on quality, versatility, relevance, and various price points. If ever you needed the inspiration to finally say “girl, bye” to your unflattering sweater, consider this is your green flag.

At This Rate, Taylor Swift’s Madewell Blazer Will Sell Out by Friday

If you thought Meghan Markle‘s and Kate Middleton’s outfits had an effect on consumer shopping habits, just wait until you see the impact of Taylor Swift’s most recent fall look. The singer, who’s currently wrapping up the first part of her U.S. tour and stopping home in NYC between shows, was spotted in the West Village outside of 4 Charles Prime Rib, where she had dinner with newlyweds Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley. For the occasion, Swift chose an autumnal pairing made up of burgundy Gianvito Rossi ankle boots, a brown corduroy miniskirt from ACNE Studios, and best of all, a cognac-colored leather blazer from Madewell that’s selling at a swift rate similar to any Zara or J.Crew item worn by the two aforementioned royals.

The lambskin leather blazer, in the last seven days, has been added to customers’ shopping carts a total of 354 times, according to its product page on the brand’s website, which is an even bigger deal than it sounds given that its price tag reads $548. As a result, sizes are literally flying off the digital shelves, leaving only a few for Swifties and fall-style fans alike to get their grips on. Scroll down to shop the blazer (as well as the cocoa-colored alt that’s still available in all sizes) and more autumn-ready finds from the brand.
