After working closely with Montgomery County officials, Experience Senior Living and master developer Fivesquares Development have secured site plan approval. The project is anticipated to break ground in Q4 of 2023.

    Susan brings over 20 years of clinical expertise, business acumen, and resident care experience to the national seniors housing organization.

    Experience Senior Living named Susan McCormick-Agee Vice President of Health and Wellness. In this role, Susan will oversee all community clinical operations. She will also ensure a high quality of holistic care for residents.

    A registered RN and seasoned resident care professional, Susan has extensive experience in clinical operations, regulatory compliance, crisis management, strategic partnerships, and resident health and wellness. Susan began her career working in clinical settings as a staff-charge nurse and a telephone triage nurse. She then gained experience as a business development manager and a clinical service liaison before transitioning to coordinating care in senior living communities.

    Jeff Slichta, Chief Operating Officer of Experience Senior Living, shared, “Susan has a wealth of experience and expertise across a variety of clinical, senior living, and business settings.     Susan comes to Experience Senior Living from Phoenix Senior Living, where she oversaw clinical operations as the VP of Clinical. Prior to this role, Susan gained over 15 years of senior care experience at Sunrise Senior Living, where she served as the Vice President of Resident Care. At Sunrise Senior Living, Susan oversaw operations for 45 communities, approximately 3,000 residents, and 3,500 team members across eight regions. She also developed partnership programs focused on holistic wellness, and she coordinated training, leadership, and team development for the organization’s nurses and regional care directors.

Great Place to Work Institute and Activated Insights issued the certification following in-depth analysis of survey data measuring more than 60 elements of team members’ experiences on the job.     Discovery Senior Living (“Discovery”) has announced that team members Christian Steil and Savannah Rogers will be part of the second-ever Argentum Leadership Advancement & Development (LEAD) Program cohort after their nominations were chosen by the Program’s Steering Committee earlier this month. 

    Steil and Rogers were nominated by top-ranking Discovery executives to take part in the selective, half-year educational and networking cooperative, which is presented by seniors housing industry association Argentum. The LEAD program is designed to provide emerging leaders a unique skill-building and development curriculum with firsthand executive insights, informative salon sessions, a team-based leadership project, and the opportunity to forge beneficial relationships with other, emerging leaders in the seniors housing space. 

    In being accepted into this year’s Argentum LEAD Program, Steil and Rogers will follow in the path of Discovery’s Vice President of Marketing, Heidi LaVanway, who was a member of the inaugural LEAD Program cohort in 2020-2021. The 2022 cohort will first assemble in person and kick off program-sponsored activities at the Argentum Senior Living Executive Conference, May 16-18 in Minneapolis, MN.

Presented by Aging Media Network (AMN), the Aspect Awards honor the best examples of advertising, public relations and marketing of products and services in the health care continuum, with winners chosen by a nationwide panel of judges.

    Competing in the Senior Housing and Senior Living category, Discovery Senior Living won first place Aspect Awards in the Digital Display/PPC Campaign category with its “SHINE a Light on Memory Care” digital ad program, and in the Print, Direct Mail & Billboard category with the “Because She’s Mom/He’s Dad” marketing and ad campaign.
