Awards season is going full steam ahead, and after a trip across the pond for the BAFTAs, it’s back stateside today—more specifically, a return to Los Angeles, for this evening’s SAG Awards.

The annual Screen Actors Guild Awards celebrate the best acting in film and television, as voted on by SAG-AFTRA members. Along with a shiny trophy, winning a SAG Award also comes with the honor of acknowledgment and recognition of industry peers. This year, Barbie and Oppenheimer each scored four nominations, leading the film pack in terms of the most nods. For television, Succession came in hot with five nominations.

The 30th SAG Awards kick off this evening at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles, California, and for the first time ever, will stream live on Netflix, starting tonight (Saturday, Feb. 24) at 8:00 pm ET. There will not be host for the ceremony, as has been the case for the past four years.

Before the main event, though, there’s the red carpet, which always delivers major memorable style moments. Below, see the best red carpet fashion from the 2024 Sag Awards.

All the celebrity bob haircuts of 2024

    [ad_1]

Is 2024 the year of celebrity bob haircuts? Judging by the red carpets, awards shows, and fashion events we’ve seen thus far, it certainly seems so.

Bob haircuts dominated the Golden Globes and Emmys red carpets, and J.Lo and Rihanna debuted especially chic, and somehow wildly different, chops while in Paris for Haute Couture Week. And to think we’re not even a full month into the year!

This, of course, comes as no surprise. Because while many hair trends come and go, the bob haircut will truly never go out of style. Going chin length makes an immediate statement, grabbing attention and putting focus on your face. Shorter haircuts are also significantly less high-maintenance over all.

But best of all? Bobs are extremely versatile. From the undone bob to the lob, there is no one way, no “right” way, to wear a bob. Just take it from the handful of celebrities boarding the bob train this year.

No matter your bob preference, the best celebrity bob haircuts of 2024 are sure to inspire your next chop. Ahead, see all of our favourite bobs of the year, and get ready to screenshot for inspo.

Selena Gomez Made This $70 Victoria’s Secret Corset Look Like a Million Bucks

    [ad_1]

There’s nothing rare about Selena Gomez being on our best dressed list, but the singer and beauty mogul is never one to get too comfortable. Her first major appearance this year (aside from all of the award show red carpets) was a wonderful winter-white outfit worn to celebrate the launch of Rare Beauty’s new Find Comfort body collection.

Notably, a key component of the look was a Victoria’s Secret corset. Worn under a sleek Giuseppe di Morabito suit jacket and trousers, the super-structured $70 garment appeared to be comfortable enough for prolonged wear.

So why not borrow a styling trick from Gomez and embrace high-low winter statement dressing? Shop her head-to-toe look below. Or start with the corset, and mix and match your way to creating the complete outfit for a price point that’s a bit less rare for your wardrobe. Accessorize with silver jewelry that can be worn on repeat, and boom: Look at her now.

Selena Gomez posts powerful then-and-now swimsuit photos with a message about her changing body

    [ad_1]

Like most people in this world, Selena Gomez has seen her body change and her weight fluctuate over the years — which she has reflected on in a relatable, body positive Instagram post.

On January 22, the Only Murders in the Building star posted a pair of pictures to her IG Stories. The first was an old paparazzi snap of Selena in a zebra-print string bikini. “Today I realised I will never look like this again,” she wrote in block text over the image. In the second – more recent – picture, Gomez is climbing up the ladder of a boat after a swim. She wears a black and white bathing suit and looks over her shoulder at the camera. The text overlay on this picture reads, “I’m not perfect but I am proud to be who I am. Sometimes I forget it’s okay to be me.”

    Instagram content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

While the way Selena Gomez’s body has fluctuated over the years is incredibly normal, the amount of body shaming she gets on the internet definitely isn’t. When pictures of the star in a black-and-white bathing suit minding her own business on vacation first hit the internet a year ago, for instance, the body-shamers went wild in the comments and it was, frankly, appalling. So appalling, that it’s something she felt to the need to address, as she’s done on several occasions.

In a December 2022 interview with GLAMOUR US, she said: “From the time I can remember, I’ve always felt like I had to be perfect or look a certain way. It took me a long time to realise that I only wanted to be myself — that what made me unique was also what made me beautiful.”

    [ad_1]

“Wizards of Waverly Place” fans rejoice: magical sibling duo Alex and Justin Russo are making a return to TV in the pilot of the show’s new sequel, “Wizards.”

Selena Gomez and David Henrie, who played Alex and Justin in the original show which debuted in 2007, will be executive producers of the pilot, Disney Branded Television confirmed to CBS News.

Gomez is set to appear in the pilot as a guest star and Henrie will appear as Justin on a regular basis. The cast will also include new arrivals to Waverly Place, like Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos.

The magic-filled sequel follows the story of Justin, who leaves his job at WizTech and his magic powers behind to live a normal life with his family — until a powerful young wizard shows up at his door looking for training, according to the press release. “Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World.”

The pilot episode is written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who were behind the reboot of “That’s So Raven.”

On her Instagram story, Gomez posted a throwback photo of herself with Henrie on the set of “Wizards of Waverly Place” with the caption, “We’re back.” She also posted that she is “so excited” with a screenshot of Deadline’s report, as well as a picture of what appears to be the “Wizards” pilot script with the caption, “Home again.”

Disney Channel and Henrie also hinted at the news, posting the front cover of the pilot script next to a wand on Instagram.

“The Russos are excited to become a part of your family, but we’ve grown,” Henrie wrote in the caption of his post. “2024, the year magic comes back.”

    [ad_1]

The magic from Disney Channel‘s hit TV show Wizards of Waverly Place could return to the small screen as part of a newly ordered sequel.

The project, which was confirmed by Variety and Deadline on Thursday, will see former co-stars Selena Gomez and David Henrie reunite to produce the show.

Henrie, 34, will star in the sequel and reprise his role as Justin Russo, the brotherly counterpart to Gomez’s Alex Russo. Gomez, 31, is listed as an executive producer and will make a guest appearance as Alex in the already ordered pilot episode.

Gomez confirmed on Instagram that she would be working on the sequel shortly after the news broke on Thursday. She shared a photo of her and Henrie on the Wizards of Waverly Place set with the caption, “We’re back.”

Henrie also confirmed the news on Instagram and shared a photo of the first page of the untitled pilot script.

“The Russo’s are excited to become a part of your family, once again, but we’ve grown” he wrote. “2024, the year magic comes back!”

The cast for the pilot already includes Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos.

According to the series’ official description, the sequel will follow an adult Justin Russo who has given up his magical wizarding powers to live a normal, human life with his wife (Gianopulos) and two sons (one of whom will be played by Thiele).

“He gets a surprise when a powerful young wizard (Brown) in need of training shows up at his door,” the description continued. “Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World.”

The pilot has been written by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who are also credited as executive producers. Elinoff and Thomas together earlier created the Disney Channel spinoff of That’s So Raven, called Raven’s Home.

Andy Fickman will direct the pilot, as well as executive produce the series alongside Gomez, Henrie, Elinoff, Thomas and Gary Marsh.

Wizards of Waverly Place is much beloved to a generation who grew up watching Gomez’s antics across the show’s four seasons and a 2009 made-for-TV movie. The series ran from 2007 to 2012, aging alongside its audience as the three Russo siblings navigated quirky problems of both the magical and non-magical varieties.

Understandably, after many years of swirling rumours surrounding a reboot, the show’s fans are already excited over the news of the pilot — though many claimed they did not want the series if it did not star Gomez herself.

Deadline’s report notes that the new pilot will focus on a “mysterious incident at WizTech, where an adult Justin Russo has left his wizard powers behind, opting for a normal, human life with his wife and two sons. But he gets a surprise when a powerful young wizard in need of training shows up at his door… and Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World.”

Wizards of Waverly Place was a fantasy teen sitcom that originally aired on the Disney Channel for four seasons between 2007 and 2012. The series followed Selena Gomez’s Alex Russo, a teenage wizard living in New York City and training their magical powers alongside her siblings Justin (David Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin).

The series was one of the most popular comedies to air on Disney Channel, with its series finale being the most-watched final episode of any Disney Channel show. The series also helped catapult Selena Gomez into stardom, with the singer and actress taking on more prominent roles following the show’s end in 2012.

  • America Ferrera Shouts Out Selena Gomez, Jenna Ortega in Critics Choice Speech – POPSUGAR Australia

America Ferrera Shouts Out Selena Gomez, Jenna Ortega in Critics Choice Speech – POPSUGAR Australia

    [ad_1]

Actress America Ferrera was awarded the SeeHer Award at today’s 2024 Critics Choice Awards, and delivered an acceptance speech that could rival her iconic “Barbie” monologue.

The SeeHer Award is a non-competitive special award that was established in 2017. It honours women in film who advocate for gender equality in the industry, and portray authentic, boundary-pushing characters.

Margot Robbie Presented the 2024 SeeHer Award to America Ferrera

    Getty Images

Margot Robbie presented the award to America Ferrera. In Robbie’s introduction, the actress and Barbie producer highlighted some of Ferrera’s career highlights, including “Real Women Have Curves”, “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”, and “Ugly Betty”. Robbie also noted that Ferrera became the first Latina woman to win an Emmy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series when she won for “Ugly Betty”, and remains the only Latina woman who has won in this category.

“First, and only,” Robbie reiterated. “I imagine being the first in any field can be isolating. I imagine it puts an enormous amount of pressure on you to be perfect, to play it safe, but what I admire most about America is how she has handled that pressure, while never being afraid to speak the truth when it counts the most.”

America Ferrera Delivers Powerful Speech on the Importance of Representation

On stage, Ferrera delivered a powerful and heartfelt acceptance speech with effortless charm.

“I’m just waiting for the teleprompter to show my speech, there it is!” she began, bursting into a grin.

Accepting the award, Ferrera spoke about her experience being a “first-generation Honduran-American girl in love with TV, film, and theatre who desperately wanted to be a part of a storytelling legacy that I could not see myself reflected in”.

“Of course, I could feel myself in characters who were strong and complex, but these characters rarely, if ever, looked like me,” Ferrera said. “I yearned to see people like myself on screen as full humans.”

Ferrera went on to recall her start in the industry, noting that at the time, “it seemed impossible that anyone could make a career of portraying fully-dimensional Latina characters”. She credited the writers, directors, producers and executives behind the scenes who have been “daring enough to rewrite outdated stories” over the years, and “to challenge deeply entrenched biases”.

She also gave a shout out to Ariana Greenblatt — who plays Ferrera’s daughter in “Barbie” — as well as Jenna Ortega and Selena Gomez, for making their mark in Hollywood as Latina actresses, and playing characters she “could not have seen growing up”.

“To me, this is the best and highest use of storytelling,” she continued. “To affirm one another’s full humanity, to uphold the truth that we are all worthy of being seen. Black, Brown, indigenous, Asian, trans, disabled, any body type, any gender, we are all worthy of having our lives richly and authentically reflected.”

    America Ferrera Thanks “Barbie” Family

Ferrera went on to say that she would not be receiving the award if it weren’t for her role in Barbie, and took time to thank Robbie for seeing the “value” in “an entirely female idea that most would have dismissed as too girly, too frivolous or just too problematic”.

To Robbie, who produced the film, she said: “You had the courage and the vision to take it on. Thank you for gifting the world with ‘Barbie’.”

Next up was “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig, who Ferrera thanked for her “incredible mastery as a filmmaker” and for proving “that women’s stories have no difficulty achieving cinematic greatness and box office history at the same time”. She also thanked “the Kens” —  Noah Baumbach, Tom Ackerley, David Heyman, and Ryan Gosling.

Ferrera’s final thanks was to her husband Ryan, who she clarified was “not Gosling”.

“You see me and my dreams, and you believe and support them as if they were your own. I love you,” she said.

“This is for every kid yearning to break in — I see you, and you go this,” she finished.

Hollyweird was back and better than ever at last night’s Golden Globes that kicked off Awards season with hilarious shenanigans headlined by a messy “scandal” involving Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner, and her boo thang Timothée Chalamet.

In an eyebrow-raising moment that immediately trended across social media, Selena appeared to spill some sort of scalding hot “tea” to Taylor Swift who appeared to be appalled at what she was told.

The third person in the circle of trust is their friend Keleigh Sperry who can be seen mouthing was appears to be “Timothee???” in the viral video seemingly confirming that Selena was speaking about Kylie allegedly blocking her from taking a pic Timothée (or Timothée saying no).

Naturally, social media created its own juicy narrative without actually knowing what was being said which prompted a Selena source to clear things up in PEOPLE.

“She was absolutely not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie,” the source exclusively told the outlet.

Other notable moments included emerging stars Ayo Edebiri (Best Actress in a Television Comedy, The Bear) and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture award, The Holdovers) exuding Black girl magic, Charles Melton melting panties through the screen, and host Jo Koy doing everything in his power to get boo’d off the stage.

At one point, he snapped at the audience who grew increasingly sick of his jokes as the night went on.

  • Here’s How Selena Gomez’s Friends Really Feel About Her Dating Benny Blanco

Here’s How Selena Gomez’s Friends Really Feel About Her Dating Benny Blanco

    [ad_1]

Selena Gomez‘s love life is making headlines again, and this time, it’s all about her blossoming romance with music producer Benny Blanco. After confirming their relationship last month on Instagram, it seems Selena’s head over heels for the producer, calling him “the best thing that ever happened” to her. But what about Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s friends’ response to their relationship?

According to a source who recently spoke to People, it appears that Selena’s inner circle is all in for her happiness. “Everyone is so happy that she’s happy,” the source told the site. “Everyone was a fan of hers before Only Murders [in the Building], and now everyone is protective of her. With her cast and crew, the feeling is, ‘any boyfriend of Selena’s is a boyfriend of ours,’” the insider added.

It’s a good thing that Sel’s crew is on board, because the Rare Beauty founder seems to be all in for this new romance. Replying to a fan’s comment on Instagram in December 2023, Selena gushed about the music producer, writing, “He is my absolute everything in my heart.” At the time, the couple had been together for around six months, according to Selena’s own comments.

Since then, the pair have been sharing sweet snaps on Instagram, and recently, they made their first public appearance at the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Miami Heat on January 3, 2023. Photos from the game show Selena cuddled up against Benny as they sat courtside, and admittedly, they looked pretty adorable together.

Following the game, a source spilled to People that Selena is “super happy and present” at this point of her life. “She seems to be really feeling herself at the moment,” the insider said. “Maybe that’s Benny, or maybe that’s just where she’s at personally and professionally.”

    Image: Allen Berezovsky/Getty Images.

While most of her inner circle seems to be embracing her new beau, the jury’s still out on what Selena’s BFF Taylor Swift makes of her new relationship—but we may have gotten a clue thanks to Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce. It turns out that the NFL star has been keeping an eye on Selena’s love life. When GQ shared photos of Selena and Benny at the Lakers game on January 4, 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs player was quick to “like” the pictures, seemingly showing his support for the couple.

But, of course, there’s always a bit of drama. In October 2023, a source told Page Six that Selena was initially concerned about Taylor flaunting her new relationship with Travis. The insider claimed, “Selena thinks Taylor going to games and galavanting through New York immediately after just meeting Travis is something that is very unlike her.” The source added, “Historically, Taylor’s always been super private about everything, and now with this [relationship], she’s so open about it that it’s just very odd for Selena.”

However, by mid-November 2023, the tide seemed to turn. Another source told Entertainment Tonight that Selena now believes Taylor and Travis are “the real deal” and has become “a big supporter” of their relationship. It looks like Selena’s got her own love life on track while cheering on her friends’ romances from the sidelines, and even Travis Kelce is on board with the love fest!

  • Francia Raísa Says She And Selena Gomez Didn’t Speak Much For 6 Years

Francia Raísa Says She And Selena Gomez Didn’t Speak Much For 6 Years

    [ad_1]

Actor Francia Raísa is opening up about her mended friendship with Selena Gomez.

The “Grown-ish” actor told USA Today in an article published on Thursday that she was surprised that so many people have been invested in her friendship with the singer. The two longtime pals had appeared to have a public falling out last year.

She described the timing of their reconciliation as somewhat serendipitous; Gomez had sent her public birthday wishes in July, and she had coincidentally just been talking about the “Only Murders in the Building” actor while on vacation the month before.

Prior to that, the two “hadn’t spoken much” for six years, Raísa explained.

“Especially the last year, we didn’t speak at all,” she said.

Raísa then discussed her separation and reconciliation with Gomez further, telling the publication that the two “never really had beef with each other.”

But the “How I Met Your Father” actor, who donated a kidney to Gomez in 2017 due to the singer’s struggle with lupus, explained that she understood why fans were perplexed about their supposed feud.

“And obviously, you know, I gave the girl a kidney, so everyone felt a certain way, and I was asked for years and years and years, ‘Do you regret it?’ and I was like, ‘No, the relationship has always been there,’” she said. “There was just a tiff.”

Gomez and Raísa appeared to be at odds last year when fans accused Gomez of snubbing her longtime friend in a November 2022 interview with Rolling Stone, in which the singer said that Taylor Swift was her “only friend in the industry.”

Raísa had reportedly left a since-deleted comment on an E! News Instagram post that shared the quote, writing, “Interesting.”

Gomez later responded to criticism she received online over the interview and Raísa’s response, writing in the comments section of a Tiktok video: “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”

But any potential feud between the two appeared to be put to rest when Gomez sent Raísa birthday wishes on Instagram in July.

“Happiest of birthdays to this special human being,” the singer wrote at the time. “No matter where life takes us, I love you.”

In August, the two friends shared photos of them wearing matching animal print heels during a night out together on their respective Instagram Stories.

Raísa discussed her relationship with Gomez in October, telling E! News, “She’s my sis, and every relationship goes through its ups and downs.”

She continued, “And I don’t know why the media started following me over the summer, but thank you so much, because not only did it bring my friendship back together, but I got to share the new endeavors that I’m doing right now.”

  • I Ranked the Celeb-Favorite Beauty Products I Was Influenced to Buy This Year

I Ranked the Celeb-Favorite Beauty Products I Was Influenced to Buy This Year

    [ad_1]

My name is Kaitlyn McLintock, and sometimes, I’m influenced by celebrities to buy things. There, I said it. As a beauty editor, it’s easy to blame it on my job and call it “research” or “due diligence.” After all, I can’t crown a certain product as the best without comparing it to all of the others on the market, right? That’s true, but if I’m being honest, it’s more than that. It’s also about the fact that I want to have the best beauty products at my disposal. If a celebrity, who has access to basically anything they want, uses or recommends something, I want it.

Let me be clear. I’m not necessarily looking for celebrity endorsements. I’m interested in the products they use without being compensated for using them or, at the very least, products they’ve created themselves. Say what you will about celebrity beauty brands, but if they’re slapping their name on something, they have to believe in it at least a little bit.

This year, I bought and tested a lot of celeb beauty products. I, however, only felt a few were worth the money, and I figured I’d share them with you. Ahead, see all the celeb-favorite beauty products I used this year, ranked from most to least favorite.

  • Selena Gomez Promotes Benny Blanco to the Grid

Selena Gomez Promotes Benny Blanco to the Grid

    [ad_1]

It would appear that Selena Gomez just can’t keep her hands to herself. (To be fair, she has been warning us since 2015.) Gomez, who stars in Only Murders in the Building and continues to release new music, combined her two great passions as of late: cuddling with apparent beau Benny Blanco and celebrating bestie Taylor Swift’s birthday.

Gomez, who has been spotted out with Swift several times in the last week and whose birthday wishes deemed her friend a “goddess, shared a carousel of photos on her Instagram grid, featuring her cuddling up to both Swift and Blanco and one where she’s kissing Blanco.

“New York, my favorite moments w you this week,” she captioned the gallery.

    Instagram content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

The first photo features Gomez, Swift, a cake, and goblets of wine, evidently at one of Swift’s birthday celebrations. Other highlights pictured include hanging out with Blanco and friends in the company of some really cool wallpaper, watching How I Met Your Mother in a hotel room, an outing for high tea with pals, and, as a kicker, another smooch with Blanco.

Last week, Gomez went to bat for Blanco following mixed reactions to their pairing, defending him in comments on Instagram posts. Blanco is a producer and songwriter who has worked with Gomez and many others, including three of Gomez’s notable exes: Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and Charlie Puth. Responding to Instagram comments, Gomez called Blanco “the best thing that’s ever happened to me” and “still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts.”

Gomez has recently been sporting a diamond-encrusted ring with a capital B on it, and has posted photos of herself and Blanco several times on her stories recently. This most recent Instagram share is something of a modern relationship milestone: Congratulations, Benny Blanco, you’ve been promoted to the grid. Big moves.

Megyn Kelly Calls For Taylor Swift Boycott After Singer Attends Gaza Charity Event

    [ad_1]

    Celebrity

Source: Screenshot Megyn Kelly YouTube, CBS Sunday Morning YouTube

Megyn Kelly is calling for fans to boycott Taylor Swift after the singer attended a comedy night in Brooklyn that donated proceeds to a charity working in Gaza.

Kelly Calls For Boycott Of Swift

Daily Mail reported that Kelly mocked Swift for claiming to support women’s rights and the LGBTQ community, yet still backing a Gaza charity.

“You clearly know nothing,” Kelly said, addressing Swift directly in her rant. “You know what they do to that community in Gaza, Taylor, that you now want to support?”

“You know what Hamas likes to do to women?” she added. “You think we have equal rights over there, Taylor?”

Last Friday, Swift, 34, was spotted at a Ramy Youssef show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music with friends that included the actress Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne and Zoe Kravitz. Youssef had previously announced that proceeds from the last 12 nights of his “More Feelings” tour would go to the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA).

Kelly described ANERA as being “highly political, presenting a highly biased view of the Israel/Palestine war, ignoring any Palestinian responsibility for hardship, and contributing to the demonization of Israel.”

“That is the group Taylor Swift thought it might be fun to help raise money for, attend a fundraiser for, and she owes Israelis and Jewish Americans an apology,” Kelly concluded. “And I hope they boycott her events until she issues it because attending this thing was wrong. It was wrong.”

    Swift’s Deafening Silence On Israel

Swift has yet to comment on any of the backlash she’s received for attending this event. Swift also has not commented publicly at all about the conflict between Israel and Hamas, who murdered and kidnapped hundreds of Israelis in terrorist attacks carried out on October 7.

Newsweek reported that after Swift was named Time’s Person of the Year last week, some said that her silence about Israel meant that she did not deserve this honor.

“I’m a massive Taylor Swift fan, and you can make the argument that pop stars shouldn’t need to speak out about war/conflict/genocide (I disagree but you can argue this),” one social media user commented. “But Taylor has defined herself as someone who now speaks out on issues, even if it costs her.”

“Taylor must feel something about the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza,” the user continued. “Her silence is an active choice and it betrays the image of herself that she created.”

    Swift’s Liberal Politics

While Swift has been silent about the Israel-Hamas conflict, she’s been all too happy to preach about liberal causes as a proud Democrat in the past. Back in 2020, she accused then-President Donald Trump of trying to “blatantly cheat” to win the election.

“Donald Trump’s ineffective leadership gravely worsened the crisis that we are in, and he is now taking advantage of it to subvert and destroy our right to vote and vote safely. Request a ballot early. Vote early,” she said at the time, according to Fox News. “We will vote you out in November.”

Related: Taylor Swift Unravels, Attacks President Trump Over USPS: ‘He Is WELL AWARE That We Do Not Want Him As Our President’

It’s always rich when liberals like Swift who claim to stand for women and LGBTQ people support Hamas, which is perhaps the most anti-feminist and anti-LGBTQ group on the planet. In the end, Swift shouldn’t be surprised if Kelly’s calls for a boycott do end up coming true.
