Casting is now open for the second season of the hit Netflix drama “The Hunting Wives,” and producers are looking for extras in the Charlotte area.
The series, based on the best-selling novel by May Cobb, premiered its first season after filming in the Charlotte region, with spots around Lake Norman doubling for the fictional Texas town of Maple Brook, CharlotteFive reported.
With cameras set to roll again, casting directors are now turning to Charlotte residents to help bring season two to life. Tona B. Dahlquist Casting, an agency that has cast extras in shows and movies like “Roofman,”“Homeland” and “Banshee,” issued a call for extras Tuesday, Oct. 22, encouraging people of all ages, types and ethnicities to apply.

How to be an extra on ‘The Hunting Wives’
Those interested in being extras on “The Hunting Wives” should email submissions to THW2extras@gmail.com, with the subject line including their age, ethnicity, gender and the city and state you live in.
The casting agency provided the following example for an email subject line: “34, Caucasian, Female, Charlotte, NC”
Submissions must include two current cell phone photos: a close-up shot that shows your head and shoulders, and a full-length photo that shows your entire body.
Potential extras must also provide the following information:
Full name (include parent’s name if submitting for a child)
Phone number
Age
City and state of residence
Height and weight
Clothing and shoe sizes (for wardrobe purposes)
Visible tattoos and piercings
Vehicle information: color, make, model and year (in case it may be used for filming)
Applicants also have the option of listing any special skills or experience, such as law enforcement, construction or wait staff.

Disney+’s Star Wars: The Acolyte wrapped up its first season earlier this year and fans wanted to know if a season 2 was a possibility. We seemingly have our answer.
The Star Wars series takes place during the High Republic and follows twin sisters Mae and Osha (Amandla Stenberg), who develop a complicated relationship with the Sith and Jedi. As the season finale approaches, there are still many questions that remain unanswered. While showrunner Leslye Headland has promised a satisfying conclusion, the show has demonstrated how much potential the High Republic setting holds to truly examine the Jedi Order and its morals. On top of that, The Acolyte’s introduction of a new coven of witches with never-before-seen powers and a powerful Sith lord (Manny Jacinto) also likely warrants more exploration.
Ahead of the season finale, fans had already begun campaigning for another season. They successfully got #RenewTheAcolyte trending, even managing to drown out the constant whining from trolls with their campaign. Did Disney heed their calls, though?
Is The Acolyte renewed for season 2?
Unfortunately, The Acolyte has not yet been renewed for a second season. It was announced in a report from Deadline that the series, which faced a lot of criticism from trolls online, would not be continuing. It is upsetting news given the fanbase the show did find despite the constant take down from those ill wishers.
As reported previously, the renewal news likely came down to viewership. Usually, viewership and reception are taken into account. The news is a bit shocking since a third-party analytics firm Reelgood told Screen Rantthat The Acolyte was the second highest-performing original Star Wars show in terms of streaming and engagement. It also outperformed an estimated 90% of the top 100 streaming shows.
While it’s reported that The Acolyte’s premiere fell 3 million views short of Ahsoka’s debut, the former still marks Disney+’s biggest TV show debut of the year. Hence, despite trolls desperately trying to skew the show’s performance, it’s quite clear from viewership reports and critic reviews that The Acolyte is a hit. That clearly wasn’t enough though.
Whatever the reasoning for the decision, it is upsetting. Fans were excited to see what could come out of a second season and if we’d get answers to some of our questions, especially with the inclusion of Yoda in the show’s final moments.

For weeks after its release, the mind-bending sci-fi series 3 Body Problem dominated Netflix’s TV charts, so it’s no surprise that the show has officially been renewed for a second season.
Based on the book of the same name by Liu Cixin, the series follows the story of Dr. Ye Wenjie (Rosalind Chao), a young woman conscripted by the military during the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Dr. Wenjie feels disillusioned following everything she has lost during the Revolution. So, when she is tapped to work at a search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) site, she makes startling choices that continue to have major ramifications for scientists in the present day.
Adapting Cixin’s work is no easy feat, as his novel is quite a complex and ambitious sci-fi story, as it switches between timelines, contains some dense sci-fi concepts, and delves deep into numerous themes of politics, physics, and philosophy. However, that didn’t stop David Benioff, D. B. Weiss, and Alexander Woo from attempting an adaptation. After all, Benioff and Weiss already had a famed adaptation under their belts with Game of Thrones. While 3 Body Problem is not a perfect adaptation, it has received high praise for its intriguing concepts, strong performances, and stunning visuals. Now, a second season is on the way.
Netflix renews 3 Body Problem for season 2

On May 15, Netflix announced that it had renewed 3 Body Problem for future episodes. The streamer paired the announcement with a statement from Benioff, Weiss, and Woo, which read,
We’re thrilled that we get to tell this story through to its epic conclusion. Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we hoped we’d be able to bring the audience to the end of the universe with us. Here we go!
Given that the trio mentions seeing 3 Body Problem through “to its epic conclusion,” it sounds as if season 2 could be the show’s final season, adapting the rest of the story. However, it could also be an indication that the show will be renewed for more than one season. After all, Netflix only stated that the show was “renewed” and would boast future episodes, but noticeably didn’t specifically say “season 2.” Perhaps, like Avatar: The Last Airbender, 3 Body Problem received a multi-season renewal to see it through to the end.
Since the renewal was only just announced and it’s unclear when production will start, 3 Body Problem season 2 does not have an official release date yet. Season 1 took nine months to shoot and spent over a year in post-production, so it’s unlikely that season 2 will arrive before 2026.
While no casting announcements have been made, viewers can expect the majority of the lead cast, whose characters were still alive by the end of season 1, to return for season 2. This includes Rosalind Chang as Ye Wenjie, Jovan Adepo as Saul Durand, Eiza González as Auggie Salazar, Jess Hong as Jin Cheng, Liam Cunningham as Thomas Wade, Benedict Wong as Clarence, Marlo Kelly as Tatiana Haas, Saamer Usmani as Prithviraj “Raj” Varma, and Sea Shimooka as Sophon.
Plot-wise, 3 Body Problem season 2 is expected to adapt elements of the latter two books in Cixin’s trilogy. Instead of devoting one season to each book in the trilogy, 3 Body Problem season 1 adapted the first book and elements of the other two books, which allowed the show to have a smoother introduction for the trilogy’s characters. Viewers can expect much of season 2’s plot to focus on humanity preparing for the Trisolaran invasion of Earth. In particular, it will explore the Wallfacer Act and the Wallfacer delegates, including Saul, selected to utilize unlimited resources to develop a defense plan. However, the Wallfacers also spark the rise of Wallbreakers, who distrust the Wallfacers and attempt to discover their plans.
Season 2 may also delve into what happened to Dr. Wenjie and Raj’s potential journey into space. It’s also suspected that the season will feature a major time jump. After all, the alien invasion is still 400 years away, so the show may feature some of the characters undergoing a form of hibernation to fast-forward to a point in the future closer to the invasion. Weiss, Benioff, and Woo have also teased that the season will answer questions regarding the significance of the fairy tale books in the show, Dr. Wenjie’s Albert Einstein joke, and why Saul was chosen as a Wallfacer.

From the looks of it, House of the Dragon will unleash a bloody war and a high body count. The show’s returning cast includes Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, Ewan Mitchell, Eve Best, Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel and Tom Glynn-Carney.

LOS ANGELES — It was a family affair at the season two premiere of “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” in Atlanta. The event took place at a roller skating rink and guests were invited into the world of Moon Girl with fun food, great music and of course roller skating.
Diamond White, who is the voice of Lunella Lafayette, AKA Moon Girl, said working on this show is a dream come true.
“The show is so beautiful and colorful and diverse and inclusive and it’s the show that I needed as a young girl growing up.”
Executive producer Steve Loter gave a hint of what’s to come.
“Season one was about Lunella becoming Moon Girl but season two is about her being Moon Girl. And what that means is the villains have leveled up against her.”
But it’s not all villainous drama, there’s some fun as well.
“So many cool new musical numbers, they travel to new places and, yeah, we even get to sing a little thing together,” said Libe Barer, who voices Casey.
Friendships and community are a core part of the series and that’s what they wanted to bring to their premiere party. As fans know, Lunella’s family owns “Roll With It,” a roller skating rink.
“It’s a very community-oriented event and we’re looking to have a great time and see some great skating, hear some great music and eat some great food,” said co-executive producer Rodney Clouden.
“Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” skates onto Disney Channel and Disney XD February 2 and streams the next day on Disney+.

Amazon Prime subscribers were delighted when the streamer renewed its hit sci-fi series, The Peripheral, for a second season. However, over the past year, there hasn’t been much news on season 2, leading viewers to question if it’s still happening.
It’s not surprising that The Peripheral garnered positive critic reviews considering that Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the creators behind another hit sci-fi series, Westworld, served as executive producers on the show. The series is loosely based on the book of the same name by William Gibson and set in the near future, where Flynne Fletcher (Chloë Grace Moretz) earns money by playing virtual reality games. But her life changes when, one day, she begins playing a game that transports her to an actual future reality.
Adapting Gibson’s book into a TV series was no easy task, as it’s filled with quite imaginative and complex ideas. Still, The Peripheral does a decent job of making his complex sci-fi concepts more manageable and able to fit into an eight-episode series. It’s thrilling, visually stunning, and gives fans of Westworld another sophisticated sci-fi story to chew on. Meanwhile, with season 1 ending on a cliffhanger, it created the perfect opportunity for the story to continue.
Is The Peripheral getting a season 2?

On February 9, 2023, Amazon officially renewed The Peripheral for a second season. Viewers were relieved to learn it was safe, even as cancellations picked up on many streamers. Unfortunately, the series wasn’t actually safe. Season 2 of The Peripheral is not happening as Amazon backtracked on its renewal and decided to cancel the series instead in August.
The decision was quite shocking, and the only explanation one alleged insider pointed to was the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes over the summer. Apparently, there was concern that the new season wouldn’t arrive until 2025 due to production delays from the strikes, so Amazon simply decided to cancel it. It’s still a very strange decision, as many fans likely would’ve preferred the season later rather than never. Meanwhile, gaps between seasons of TV shows are largely starting to become the norm after the pandemic and the strikes. A two or three-year gap between seasons of The Peripheral likely wouldn’t have phased viewers at all.
To cancel a show after it was already renewed and claim it’s because of the strikes almost feels like the cancellation was retaliation for the workers demanding fair compensation. Meanwhile, given that it’s a complex, big-budget sci-fi show, it is unlikely another streamer will pick it up for its second season. It seems the door has closed on The Peripheral season 2.
