Margate City mayor offers ‘redo date night’ after woman confronts Jason and Kylie Kelce: VIDEO

MARGATE CITY, New Jersey (WPVI) — The mayor of Margate City, New Jersey, is apologizing to Jason and Kylie Kelce after a video circulating online shows a confrontation with a fan over Memorial Day weekend.

“On behalf of the City of Margate, I’d like to formally apologize to Jason & Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate City over the holiday weekend,” Margate City Mayor Michael Collins said.

The Kelces were on a date night when a woman allegedly asked for a photo, but when she was turned down she apparently began berating the couple.

The Kelces were on a date night when a woman began berating the couple.

The woman can be heard yelling at Kylie Kelce that they “will never be allowed in this town again.”

Kylie can then be heard telling her, “You’re embarrassing yourself.”

Although the video is captioned with “Sea Isle,” Action News has learned it happened in Margate City outside of Steve and Cookie’s, a well-known Jersey shore restaurant.

“As a father with young children, I know as well as anyone the importance of a date night with your wife and would like to offer a redo date night with dinner on me,” the mayor added.

The incident – and the treatment of the Kelces, who own a home at the Jersey shore – didn’t sit right with people from Margate.

“Why can’t we just leave these people alone to enjoy their time out together, date night or whatever they were having, and just leave them alone?” said Phil Wursta of Margate.

“He’s a great role model, she’s a fantastic human and I feel sorry for what happened,” said Gina Pallitto, of Margate.

Atlantic County Commissioner Amy Gatto released a statement on Tuesday saying, “Kylie and Jason Kelce – on behalf of the rest of us in Atlantic County, please know you are welcome in any of our 23 municipalities at any time! We would be lucky and grateful to have you. Go Birds!”

Action News spoke with Gatto on Wednesday about the importance of welcoming tourists of all kinds – and encouraging others to be respectful.

“I think the Kelces especially do so much for the community and they make themselves so publicly available that we really just need to respect it when they’re trying to have a date night,” said Gatto.

Action News reached out to a representative for the Kelces to find out more about what happened, but we have not heard back.

Jason Kelce to bartend again in Sea Isle City to raise money for Eagles Autism Foundation

He’s bested Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania, cruised the Philly area in his new Tesla Cybertruck and lost his Super Bowl ring in a kiddie pool of chili, and now, we know Jason Kelce’s next retirement move: celebrity bartending.

This hobby is actually an old one for the former Eagle, who has slung drinks in Sea Isle City for the past three years to raise money for the Eagles Autism Foundation. He’s set to return for another round at the Ocean Drive bar on Wednesday, June 26.

Kylie Kelce teased the return on her Instagram Story, posting photos tagged at the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City and a short video of an empty bar with the text “IYKYK 6/26.” The Ocean Drive confirmed the date, but further details are not available at this time.

Last year’s event, which included a raffle and auction, raised more than $375,000 for the Eagles Autism Foundation. The slate for the 2024 bash may be TBD, but if past festivities are any indication, you could chug a beer with Kelce — or at least watch him enter the scene with a tray of Jell-O shots and the “Rocky” theme on blast.
