  • Eugenie & Beatrice Also Under Scandal as Sources Claim They’re ‘Just as Entitled’ as Andrew & Fergie—They Have ‘Shady’ Friends

    [ad_1]

Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have been involved in scandal after scandal. The latest, and the one that seems to have been the last nail in the coffin of their public relationship with the British royal family, was an email leak which revealed Ferguson apologized to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein after publicly condemning him. But so far, their scandals have not touched their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

The Daily Mail is reporting that although the two take pride in being “working, young, royal women” balancing their royal duties with work and motherhood, their “rarified” upbringing has played a large role in making them “just as entitled as their parents.”

Related: Here’s what each royal inherited from Queen Elizabeth

All of this is reportedly due to their parents’ decisions, parents whom the two still stand by despite their controversies. In fact, the outlet claims that the sisters say they draw inspiration from the “strength inside” their mother, Sarah Ferguson, and remain protective of their father, despite the Epstein scandal.

Similarly, reports indicate that both Andrew and Sarah believe their daughters “deserve” the life of privilege they live, without the burden of royal duties. That’s why they’ve taken them with them across the world, and introduced them to their “shady” friends.

“They were never going to be working royals but have benefitted from their family connection. Andrew introduced them to many of his business contacts and foreign royals. They and Fergie have become friends with some shady people” the Daily Mail’s royal source said.

“Beatrice and Eugenie grew up in this rarefied world in which there was always someone to do everything for you,” the source added. “That was illustrated when Beatrice had her BMW stolen in 2009 after leaving it unlocked with the car keys in the ignition. I think she was used to her police protection officer looking after such things.”

As for their royal duties, the source also said, “Whether you believe it was their decision [to not be working royals] or it was them and their father putting a brave face on things, he and they said they wanted careers instead of a life of ribbon-cutting. Andrew maintained it was their decision.”

This all comes after The Times reported that King Charles would keep both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie at arm’s length after the new controversy their parents were involved in, and wanted Prince Andrew and Fergie to be “invisible” at future gatherings, including their family Christmas celebrations. And if this was mostly because of their parents, these new reports are unlikely to move the needle in the Princesses’ favor.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, recently spoke about the sisters’ relationship with their mom to the Daily Mail: “They probably knew what a state she was in when that email was sent 14 years ago. I think their first instinct will be to protect her. They’ve got no alternative but to support her even though they’ve already had to put up with a lot.”

Whether the rest of the family will support them all remains to be seen.

  • Charles Took His 1st Step Toward Officially Exiling Andrew & Fergie from the Royal Family After Reports ‘He Wants Them Out’

    [ad_1]

The Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson drama has been bad for a while. In fact, it’s been so bad for so long that, for a while, it seemed like it couldn’t even get worse. And then, new information came out. There were Sarah Ferguson’s leaked emails published on the Mail on Sunday apologizing to Epstein for publicly condemning him. Then there was new information about Prince Andrew visiting Epstein’s Island. So, of course, people were really interested in how the royal family would react.

It was just days ago, after all, that Prince Andrew was photographed with members of the royal family at the funeral of the Duchess of Kent. But the situation has developed quickly, and now new reports indicate that the King has told his brother and Sarah Ferguson that they will not be welcome at the family’s Christmas celebrations this year. Despite Prince Andrew’s troubles and the fact that he is no longer a working royal, he continued to attend family gatherings, including Christmas celebrations.

Related: Here’s what each royal inherited from Queen Elizabeth

The Times is reporting the King is set to keep both at arm’s length after the new revelations and would prefer the two to be “invisible” at future gatherings. Last year, King Charles reportedly asked Sarah Ferguson for help convincing Andrew to “do the decent thing” and stay away from the royal family’s Christmas gathering after reports of his close relationship with alleged Chinese spy, Yang Tengbo.

Back then, a source close to the King said, “You can’t sack someone from being your brother. But this year, if the duke and duchess were both to be as honourable [as last year], it would be very much for the best and the family would not be disappointed, not least to avoid the King having to make any more difficult decisions.”

Reportedly, the King isn’t looking to completely banish his brother, just make sure he isn’t seen in public with the family, according to a family friend. “The King is not of the mind to banish someone worshipping at church or attending family occasions like a funeral. But he would hope they would find a more discreet way of attending these events. In the Duke of York’s case, he seems to relish the prospect of not being low-key about it.”

And that is precisely the problem that could force the King to make decisions. RadarOnline recently reported that King Charles wanted both his brother and Sarah Ferguson removed from Royal Lodge following the new revelations about their ties to Epstein, calling it the “final straw” for the couple.

“The king feels deeply that Royal Lodge cannot remain a sanctuary for the Duke and Duchess of York. After everything that has come out, he wants them out. It’s not just about optics anymore – it’s about trying to preserve the integrity of the monarchy,” one insider said.

It looks like consequences are finally coming for Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and though it’s not the consequences they probably deserve, at least this time their association with Epstein isn’t just being completely ignored.

  • Prince William Has “No Time” for Prince Andrew

    [ad_1]

Prince William is in Scotland this week enjoying some quality time with his father, King Charles, for what has become an annual father-son holiday.

Royal sources tell VF that the trip has become a “much looked forward to” date in the diary for both William and his father, who they insist are closer than ever, despite recent reports that the Prince of Wales does not see eye to eye with Charles over several issues regarding the royal family—principally over the King’s recent meeting with Prince Harry and the very public inclusion of the Duke and Duchess of York at a recent family funeral.

“They are both in Scotland and will see each other, but it’s in no way connected to recent family dramas,” a source tells VF. “They speak very regularly, and there has been no fallout.” Buckingham Palace declined to comment on speculation about the king’s relationship to his eldest son.

Their time in Scotland, a country they both love, will, however, give the king and heir a chance to discuss some important matters. VF has been told that the Prince of Wales is keen to come up with a solution for what is being referred to in palace circles as the “York problem.”

“It’s something that William is acutely aware of and wants resolved,” a family friend tells me. “Charles is not a confrontational person and doesn’t want any more family feuds, but he recognizes that his brother poses challenges. William takes a harder line and has made it clear that he thinks his uncle and aunt could cause the monarchy real reputational damage.”

This week, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was dropped by seven of her charities after an email from 2011 revealed that she continued corresponding with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein after claiming she had distanced herself from him. The king is under pressure to cut ties with his sister-in-law, according to royal insiders.

Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of Yorks, which lifts the lid on Sarah and Prince Andrew’s close relationship with Epstein, says the king could face a backlash if he continues to be seen as supporting Andrew and Sarah, who still live at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

Despite Prince Andrew and Ferguson’s separation in 1992 and subsequent divorce in 1996, Charles still maintains a good rapport with the Duchess of York. Now their relationship is “causing problems for the King because of the optics of the royal family being so close to the Yorks,” Lownie says.

But Lownie tells me Charles and William disagree about what to do. “I’m told William’s view is that his father needs to take a firmer line with Andrew,” Lownie says. “I think this could cause real tensions between Charles and William. William, as future king, will have to deal with the fallout from this. He wants this problem solved and has no sentimental attachment to Andrew. He has no time for Andrew, and he can see how toxic the Yorks are.”

  • Where Sarah Ferguson Really Stood With Jeffrey Epstein After Reports Prince Andrew Cheated on Her With More Than a Dozen Women

    [ad_1]

New claims about Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson‘s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein has been unearthed from a new biography about the Duke of York. Andrew Lownie’s new book, Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York
, details not only Andrew’s ties to the convicted sex-offender, but Ferguson’s as well.

In a conversation with Tina Brown, the author claimed that Ferguson stayed in contact with Jeffrey Epstein for five years after they said they cut ties. “Fergie was staying at [Epstein’s older brother] Mark Epstein’s flats around the corner until 2015,” Lownie said. “What we’ve got to remember is that Sarah had 18 numbers in the Black Book. Andrew only had 16.” Lownie also claimed Epstein gave Fergie as much as $2 million, far more than the reported $15K. Ferguson told The Telegraph that she “deeply regrets” accepting the money from Epstein.

Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York

The book by Lownie also details vicious arguments between the Duke and Duchess of York that the author says “bordered on domestic violence,” and describes Andrew as someone who wasn’t interested in family life. “Andrew’s idea of a good time on a beautiful sunny day was to sit in the house and watch golf on the television. His dinner would be placed in front of him so he could continue watching TV, and then he would go to bed,” the book recounts.

The biography also includes revelations that Andrew slept with “more than a dozen women” in the first year of their marriage, and that Ferguson quickly realized she was destined to be a “shore widow” and it “really hurt.” This is reportedly the reason she soon began having affairs of their own, and their marriage was soon doomed.

The publication comes amid the claims that Prince William will strip Andrew of his titles once he comes king. The Telegraph recently reported that William understands “something still needs to be done” with Prince Andrew, and has a plan in place to do so. He is set to ban his uncle from his coronation, remove his Order of the Garter, and strip him of his “Prince” title.

  • Sarah Ferguson Shares Emotional Cancer Update Amid Charles & Kate’s Own Battles

Sarah Ferguson Shares Emotional Cancer Update Amid Charles & Kate’s Own Battles

    [ad_1]

As King Charles and Princess Kate continue to recover from their own diagnoses, there’s good news to share about Sarah Ferguson’s cancer journey.

The Duchess of York recently revealed she’s put “cancer in the corner” after receiving two diagnoses in less than a year’s time. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2023, and then in January 2024, she announced she was also battling skin cancer. “Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York, has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma,” a spokesperson for Ferguson told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. The spokesperson noted that while “another diagnosis so soon after treatment for breast cancer has been distressing,” the Duchess was “in good spirits.” Now, it seems Fergie is turning another leaf for the better.

While at the amfAR Gala during the Cannes Film Festival on May 23, 2024, the Duchess of York took the time to chat with reporters about her battle with skin cancer. “This evening I am doing very well. I think that we’ve managed to get cancer in the right place rather than cancer ruling me. I’ve put cancer in the corner,” she told People.

Ferguson, who has two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, also emphasized the importance of having open discussions about cancer, suggesting that screenings should be as crucial as regular check-ups. “I think you always have to be aware. I think it’s great to get checked for breast cancer [and] melanoma,” she told reporters. “I think you just have to be very candid about it. I think a lot of people get very frightened to talk about these things.”

She added, “I’m very happy with my mastectomy and my breasts and just to talk about it.”

Around the same time Sarah Ferguson announced her melanoma diagnosis, her royal relatives King Charles III and Princess Kate Middleton also revealed that they were facing their own battles with the disease. Charles shared his cancer diagnosis in February 2024, while Kate followed suit a month later. Unlike Fergie, however, they haven’t shared the details of their conditions.

Following Kate’s announcement, Fergie shared a message of support for the Princess of Wales, writing on Instagram, “All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she starts her treatment. I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best outcome.”

“As someone who has faced their own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way she has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and know it will do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness,” she added at the time. “I hope she will now be given the time, space and privacy to heal.”

Both Charles and Kate—who’s married to Prince William—continue to undergo treatment and had to take a step back from their public duties as they focused on their recoveries. Charles got back to work on April 30, 2024, while Kate is still recovering in private. However, in her announcement in March 2024, Kate mentioned she’ll be back to her public engagements once her doctors give her the all-clear.

Meanwhile, Sarah Ferguson is continuing to offer her support to her family members. “I think family unity is key,” she told reporters at the amfAR Gala. “I think the key to life is that we all support each other. And also forgiveness is a great thing. I think forgiveness of yourself, and forgiveness of others.”

  • Sarah Ferguson Says “Unity” and “Forgiveness” Are Helping the Royal Family Through Cancer Battles

Sarah Ferguson Says “Unity” and “Forgiveness” Are Helping the Royal Family Through Cancer Battles

    [ad_1]

Earlier this month, Princess Beatrice said that her mother Sarah Ferguson had been given the all-clear following a skin cancer diagnosis in January. This week, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew made her return to the red carpet for a series of galas at Cannes. On Thursday night, she attended the 2024 amFAR Gala at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, where she told People about how the royal family have been supporting each other through their unprecedented series of health challenges.

“I think family unity is key… I think the key to life is that we all support each other,” she said. “And also forgiveness is a great thing. I think forgiveness of yourself, and forgiveness of others.”

The year since the coronation of King Charles III has included a new level of publicity over royal health, beginning with Ferguson’s June 2023 surgery, after a routine mammogram identified breast cancer. In January, a subsequent announcement  that she had been diagnosed with skin cancer was followed by disclosures from the king and Kate Middleton that they were both being treated for unspecified forms of cancer. The king took a break from his public duties but has since returned to a near-regular schedule. Kate will stay away from public engagements until she is cleared by a doctor, according to a recent comment by her spokesperson.

In the aftermath of Kate’s diagnosis, Ferguson praised her in a statement shared to social media. “As someone who has faced their own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way she has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and know it will do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness,” it read.

Ferguson told People about her recovery and her reasons for disclosing her cancer publicly. “This evening I am doing very well. I think that we’ve managed to get cancer in the right place rather than cancer ruling me. I’ve put cancer in the corner,” she said. “I think you always have to be aware. I think it’s great to get checked for breast cancer [and] melanoma. I think you just have to be very candid about it… I think a lot of people get very frightened to talk about these things,” the Duchess of York continued. “I’m very happy with my mastectomy and my breasts and just to talk about it.”

The 64-year-old Ferguson made her first Cannes red carpet appearance at Wednesday’s Knights of Charity gala. According to Hello! she wore an emerald green beaded and sequined gown by Vivienna Lorikeet, and a gold bangle engraved with the name “Eugenie,” for her daughter, Princess Eugenie.

  • Prince Andrew Won’t Face a New Police Investigation—But He Might Still Be Evicted From Royal Lodge

Prince Andrew Won’t Face a New Police Investigation—But He Might Still Be Evicted From Royal Lodge

    [ad_1]

This week, a new tranche of documents from a court case related to late financier and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein were unsealed, bringing the name of Prince Andrew back into the center of the story. Though little new information was uncovered in the first set of documents, it did lead the anti-monarchy pressure group Republic to ask the Metropolitan Police to open an investigation into the disgraced prince. A spokesperson for the police force told the BBC that there were no plans to open a new investigation. The spokesperson said, “As with any matter, should new and relevant information be brought to our attention we will assess it.” (Prince Andrew has long denied any wrongdoing regarding sexual abuse accusations made against him.)

Still, the return of the controversy has made an impact on King Charles III, according to the Daily Mail. Royal sources told the tabloid that it will only “crystalize” the king’s determination to solve the “Andrew problem” and could lead Charles to renew a push to evict Andrew from Royal Lodge, the 30-room mansion where he lives with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

When reached by Vanity Fair, Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the Daily Mail’s report, citing a policy against commenting on “private family matters.”

Since the beginning of his reign 15 months ago, the monarch has sought a middle ground when it comes to his much-discussed younger brother. Though Andrew was stripped of his military titles and his HRH status the month before he came to a 2022 settlement with accuser Virginia Giuffre, he has been permitted to play a public role as a family member at events like the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II and the coronation last May. During last month’s family walk to Christmas services, Andrew was a part of the larger group alongside his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson.

That hasn’t stopped the king from attempting to cast Andrew further from the royal spotlight, and last spring, The Mirror reported that Charles was planning to evict Andrew from Royal Lodge to reflect his status. The plans reportedly failed after Andrew refused to leave, and after surgery for breast cancer last summer, Ferguson spent weeks recovering in the house, and the relocation plans were reportedly shelved.

There is reason to doubt that future attempts to move Andrew and Ferguson are the consequence of the recent revival of the Epstein story, however, and directly responsive to the king’s will. Andrew reportedly signed a long-term lease to Royal Lodge upon moving into the house in 2003, and it is managed by the Crown Estate, an independent property arm that manages property held in right of the crown.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were asked to leave Frogmore Cottage last year, the message didn’t come directly from the king. In the book Endgame, Omid Scobie reports that the eviction notice came in the form of a letter from Sir Michael John Stevens, the keeper of the Privy Purse. Still, the dispute’s timing left little ambiguity on its relation to the king and his wishes. According to the New York Post, the decision to evict Meghan and Harry took place one day after the release of the prince’s revealing memoir, Spare, in January 2023.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Celebrate the New Year With Throwback Pictures

    [ad_1]

One week after spending Christmas with the royal family, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi gave a tribute to his wife Princess Beatrice with an Instagram post that shows the couple dancing. On New Year’s Day, the royal spouse shared a throwback picture where he and Beatrice were wearing outfits identical to those they wore at November’s inaugural Anti-Slavery Collective Winter Gala.

In a caption, Edoardo celebrated the holiday with a champagne glass emoji and a song lyric. “Happy New Years—here’s to a glorious 2024,” he said. “Today is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one.” The quotation seems to originate from a 2010 tweet by country singer Brad Paisley but has become an inspirational favorite online.

The Anti-Slavery Collective, a non-profit cofounded in 2017 by Princess Eugenie, held its first fundraising gala at London’s Battersea Arts Centre on November 29. Beatrice wore a black dress by Self Portrait, and Edoardo wore a white tux to the event, which supported the organization’s efforts to raise awareness about modern slavery. Ed Sheeran and James Blunt performed at the event, and the night’s guests also included royal family members Jack Brooksbank, Sarah Ferguson, and Zara Tindall along with former Prime Minister Theresa May, Eugenie’s friend Camila Alves McConaughey, broadcaster Natalie Pinkham, and fashion designers Gabriela Hearst and Giles Deacon.

On Christmas morning, Beatrice, Eugenie, and their spouses joined King Charles III and the Prince and Princess of Wales at a nearby church service in keeping with royal tradition. Beatrice and Eugenie’s parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson also joined on the walk from Sandringham to St. Mary. It marked the first time Ferguson was invited to join on the holiday in more than three decades.

  • Sarah Ferguson Recalls “Ups and Downs” of 2023, Breast Cancer Battle, and Derek

Sarah Ferguson Recalls “Ups and Downs” of 2023, Breast Cancer Battle, and Derek

    [ad_1]

Even the royal family isn’t immune to taking a moment at the dawn of a new calendar year to reminisce about the 365 days prior. For Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, that meant sharing an Instagram caption with musings about the “ups and downs” of 2023, a year that saw her publish a new novel, welcome a new grandchild, and embrace the reconstructed left breast she affectionately refers to as “Derek,” a result of surgery after her breast cancer diagnosis this year.

“I am 64 and just getting started,” she wrote alongside a snap of herself lounging on a bed in a grass green gown, staring resolutely into the middle distance.

    Instagram content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Ferguson made a surprise appearance with the royal family on Christmas Day, participating in the crew’s traditional walk from their estate at Sandringham to church for the first time in three decades. She accompanied her disgraced ex-husband, Prince Andrew, as well as the couple’s daughters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. This is the second year that Andrew has rejoined the fold of Christmas festivities after the shock of allegations of sexual assault and his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. (Andrew settled a lawsuit with accuser Virginia Giuffre out of court in early 2022, acknowledging in a statement that Giuffre had suffered as an “established victim of abuse,” though he did not admit culpability.)

Though Sarah and Andrew divorced in 1996, they still live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor and remain close. Eugenie once called her parents “the best divorced couple I know.”

In her recap post, Ferguson also celebrated the sales of her latest historical romance novel (the late Queen Elizabeth was a fan of her prior work, according to Fergie), her new grandchild (Eugenie’s second son with Jack Brooksbank, Ernest), and the many, many people she met in her adventures as a royal.

“I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday celebrations today,” she wrote. “2023 hasn’t been without its ups and downs, trials, lessons, laughter, miracles and joy. I made the Sunday Times Top 5 bestseller list for my historical romance novel, A Most Intriguing Lady! I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I beat breast cancer and now I have got a Derek on my left. I have a new grandchild!!! I have had the pleasure of meeting some very inspiring people from around the world with beautiful stories to tell. I have discovered within myself that I, too, have more stories to tell. I am 64 and just getting started. I hope everyone takes time to reflect and to look forward with love and positivity. Happy New Year, #2024!”

  • This is when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson got divorced

This is when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson got divorced

    [ad_1]

ROYAL weddings always capture the attention of the world, and the marriage of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson was no different.

However, what started out as a fairy tale romance ended in divorce not long after.

    1

When did Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson divorce?

Sarah Ferguson married Prince Andrew on July 23, 1986, in a Westminster Abbey ceremony.

At the time of their wedding, Prince Andrew was fourth in line to the throne.

The Queen gave the happy couple her permission to marry in Westminster Abbey and appointed them the Duke and Duchess of York.

During their 10-year marriage, they had two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie.

Eldest daughter Beatrice Elizabeth Mary was born on August 8, 1988, with the happy news being announced by Buckingham Palace.

It read: “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of York was safely delivered of a daughter at 8:18 p.m. today.”

Second daughter Eugenie Victoria Helena followed on March 23, 1990.

But in 1996, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson divorced after 10 years of marriage.

While the exact reason behind the break-up remains unknown, they announced their “amicable split” in 1992.

However, Sarah’s biographer says that Prince Andrew’s naval duties put a strain on the marriage as he was often travelling.

Just a few months after their split, Sarah was photographed with her financial adviser John Bryan.

Sarah’s open relationship with the media is rumoured to have put a strain on her relationship with the Palace

Are Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson friends?

The former couple remain on good terms and even share a house together.

Even though Sarah and Prince separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996 they continue to live at Royal Lodge in Windsor together.

Their close friendship and living situation has meant the former couple have often been plagued by rumours that they will one day reunite romantically – something Sarah appears to have not ruled out.

“All I can say is that we’re happy with the way we are right now,” she teased when quizzed about their relationship in an interview with The Telegraph.

“We always say we are the most contented divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other,” she added.

“We are co-parents who support each other and believe that family is everything. I’m proud of the job we have done together in bringing up our children and sustaining a strong family unit. Our bywords are communication, compromise and compassion.”

Both of their children are all grown up now, and have kids of their own.

Youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie got married to Jack Brooksbank in a joyful wedding that captured the attention of royal watchers in 2018.

Her older sister Princess Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a downsized July wedding during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

The two princesses have made their parents grandparents.

Eugenie and Jack had their first child, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, on February 9, 2021.

The choice of Philip as a middle name pays tribute to Eugenie’s grandfather Prince Philip.

The happy couple then welcomed their second child in May 30, 2023.

They called him Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, revealing their son’s name was inspired by “his great-great grandfather George, his grandpa George and my grandpa Ronald”.

Beatrice gave birth to daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi on September 18 , 2021.

Sisters Eugenie and Beatrice are famously tight and have often attended royal events together over the years.

As of November 2023, Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne, with her daughter, Sienna, tenth.

Eugenie is 11th in line, with August 12th and Ernest 13th.

Though Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, was technically never a princess herself, she is the mother of both Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie and spent years attending the types of engagements and banquets where a senior royal must be on their best behavior. On this week’s episode of Tea Talks With The Duchess & Sarah, the podcast she cohosts with entrepreneur Sarah Thomson, she shared a few of the tips for etiquette she learned during her time in the royal family.

“I always say to my girls, when you’re out on the public stage, smile. If you don’t want to be polite, don’t go out on the public stage—because no one wants to see a grumpy princess,” Ferguson said, per People. “I think the most important thing is you’ve got to get your game on.”

Though Beatrice and Eugenie are not working royals, they have made public appearances at family events, like Trooping the Colour and royal weddings for most of their lives, and also have taken on a few patronages that are close to their hearts. Despite Ferguson’s 1996 divorce from their father, Prince Andrew, the family has remained close, and in the late 1990s, Ferguson would stay at another home on the Sandringham Estate over the Christmas holidays so her daughters could still participate in the festivities.

Even after leaving behind her official royal duties, Ferguson still had plenty of reason to rely on some of her royal skills to make a good impression at parties. She told Thomson one of her best tricks for moving around a party while still seeming polite.

“It depends [on] which country you’re in. There’s all different cultures, which you must always be aware of, and I love that,” she explained. “If you’re in British Downton Abbey, you get to a point when you say, ‘One second, could you hold that thought because I’ve just got to go and see Fred over there because I’ve got to give him a message.’ And by the time that the person you’re talking to has gone onto the next subject, they’ve forgotten that you were coming back to tell something about Fred.”

She also explained her clever strategy for attending multiple parties in one night. “What you do is you walk through the door, go in very loudly and walk all the way around the room, she said. “You’ll be so loud that most people are going, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s so loud.’ Then you leave after five minutes, and so the host and everyone will say, “Oh, I didn’t see Sarah tonight.’ And everyone in the room says, “Oh, well we did.’”

Ferguson and Thomson have cohosted the podcast since April, and in their weekly episodes they discuss their careers and personal lives, along with culture and current events. Earlier this month, a spokesperson Ferguson announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was recovering after a lengthy operation. On the next day, the pair released a pre-recorded episode of the show where Ferguson explained that she was diagnosed during a routine mammogram that she nearly skipped.

“It’s very important that I speak about it,” she said in the episode. “I am telling people out there because I want every single person that is listening to this podcast to go get checked, go get screened and go do it.”

Prince Andrew and Fergie’s Unconventional Love Story

    [ad_1]

Are Prince Andrew and Fergie back together? Since the Duke and Duchess of York’s divorce in 1996, royal watchers have been asking if the exes will tie the knot for a second time. The Yorks have given the public many reasons to speculate. The controversial, scandal-prone couple still live together at the Royal Lodge, and even adopted Queen Elizabeth’s corgis, Muick and Sandy, after the monarch’s death in September 2022. For the world’s “happiest divorced couple,” it’s their own version of happily ever after. “We enjoy each other’s company; we allow each other to blossom,” Fergie once said. “I know it sounds like a fairytale but that’s the way we are.”

1985: Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson Start to Date

Although they had played tag together as children, it is Princess Diana who ignites the romantic relationship between Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

According to reports, Princess Diana believes her friend Fergie, the fun-loving, outgoing daughter of Prince Charles’s polo manager, will get along famously with Prince Andrew, the queen’s favorite son whose raunchy ways have earned him the nickname “Randy Andy.” And she’s right. On June 18, 1985, Prince Andrew and Fergie are seated next to each other for a luncheon at Windsor Castle, during the week of the Royal Ascot. They get on like a house on fire. “He fed her profiteroles and she punched him in the arm, saying they were much too fattening,” Kitty Kelley writes in The Royals. “He tried to stuff them into her mouth, and she laughingly threatened a food fight.”

Thus begins a whirlwind romance. “In Andrew I found my perfect man and soul mate. He was relaxed and endlessly charming, a prankster like me, yet solid and kind,” Fergie writes in Finding Sarah: A Duchess’s Journey to Find Herself. “In me, I suppose Andrew saw a wildflower — a bubbly and forthright woman without pretense or motives. Together we were like well-matched bookends, pleasant to look at and equally supportive of one another.”

    1986: The Engagement

On February 19, 1986, Prince Andrew proposes to Fergie at Floors Castle in Scotland. According to The Royals, the proposal goes off in the couple’s signature cheeky fashion:

During a game of hide-and-seek, Andrew hid under a table, and Sarah, who was blindfolded, crawled around the floor looking for him. When she found him, she pinched his behind — hard. “Steady on!” he shouted. “You’re not allowed to squeeze the royal bottom yet!” That evening he proposed. Sarah replied, “When you wake up tomorrow morning, you can tell me it’s all a huge joke.” The next morning Andrew proposed again and gave her a $37,000 ruby ring.

The engagement of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson is announced publicly on March 19, 1986. “I know that the decision I made to marry Sarah was, and always will be, the best decision I have made, or ever will make in my life,” Prince Andrew says

1986: Prince Andrew and Fergie Wed

On July 23, 1986, Prince Andrew and Fergie’s wedding is held at Westminster Abbey in London. The ceremony is viewed by an estimated 500 million people worldwide. Despite the enormous public interest, the newly styled Duchess of York calls it “the happiest day of my life.”

“With nearly a million people lining the one-mile route, Dad looked desperately flustered. But I was just cruising. This was fun,” Fergie recalled. “On my wedding day all I knew or cared about was that Fergie was in glorious vogue.”

  • Sarah Ferguson Has “No Judgment” Towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Sarah Ferguson Has “No Judgment” Towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

    [ad_1]

As someone who has felt judged her whole life, Sarah Ferguson said she wouldn’t dream of criticizing another person’s choices.

The Duchess of York revealed that she has “no judgment” towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for deciding to step down as senior royals and forge their own path for their family in California. The royal told People in an interview published Thursday, “I don’t believe that any single person has the right to judge another person. I’m not in a position myself to make any judgments. I have been judged all my life, and I have no judgment on the Sussexes.” And she added that, most importantly, “I think that [Princess] Diana would be incredibly proud of her grandchildren. And not just the Sussex grandchildren, but Will’s children.” Harry and Meghan are parents to a 3-year-old son Archie and 1-year-old daughter Lilibet Diana, while Prince William and his wife Princess Kate have three kids of their own, 9-year-old Prince George, 7-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 4-year-old Prince Louis.

This is a sentiment Fergie has expressed in the past. In July 2021, she also told the outlet that the late Princess Diana “would be very proud of her sons and their wives,” adding, “And she would be just like me, obsessed with her grandchildren. Because that’s what she loved.” She explained that the princess, “adored my girls. She adored the boys. This would be her haven. Her heaven. If she were sitting with me right now, I know she would say, ‘I am so proud of both of my boys and the wonderful wives they have chosen.’ Because each has got her own voice.” The duchess went on to explain that the reason she can say all of this about the late royal with such confidence is because “We were best friends from when she was 14 and I was 15.” She continued, “She taught me so much of public life. She was so brave. We used to have the most incredible time together.” And despite the tabloid speculation that they’d had a falling out prior to Diana’s death in 1997, Ferguson claims, “We promised each other we would always be together—there was never any daylight between us. But everybody wanted that, because we were so strong together. People want to break something so strong.”

These days, the royal is enjoying being a grandmother herself as her daughter Princess Beatrice is mother to a 1-year-old daughter, Sienna Elizabeth, and stepmother to her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi‘s 7-year-old son Wolfie from a previous relationship. Her younger daughter Princess Eugenie welcomed her son August in February 2021 with husband Jack Brooksbank and is currently expecting their second child. Fergie revealed that the children “just follow me around like Pete Pan,” joking, “I’m Super Gran Pan!” She concluded, “Everyone says, ‘Oh, has it changed your life?’ And I go, ‘No, because I live [in the mindset of ] 3- to 6-year-olds.’ So I’ve now got another audience that likes me.”
