Molly Sims and Laney Crowell Co-Hosted a Girl Dinner Out East

[ad_1]

“Tonight is all about bringing women together,” Molly Sims told a table full of female entrepreneurs, writers, and founders—including her co-host Laney Crowell, the brains behind clean beauty brand Saie—yesterday evening at her sprawling beach house in Sagaponack, New York. The intimate dinner celebrated glowing skin, made possible thanks to both Crowell’s products and YSE Beauty, Sims’ new anti-aging skin care brand, proving that uplifting others is key to building community…and generally having a good time.

“It’s really, really important that we support each other,” Sims continued. “YSE and Saie is like a perfect marriage: [Crowell’s] makeup, cosmetics, and ethos is incredible.”

The 45-seat teak table by Janus et Cie was flanked by custom benches and set with linen runners and napkins embroidered with both brands’ logos. Each place setting had an oyster featuring a guest’s name scrawled across in script, and Casamigos created two cocktails: a paloma and a spicy margarita. The menu, curated by chef Woldy Reyes of Woldy Kusina, included fish crudo, coconut and herb rice, mushroom steaks with charred lemons, and, for dessert, vanilla cream topped with Oishii’s cult Omakase strawberries. Each item was handpicked by Crowell and specifically designed “to help us all glow,” she said. Singer Alfredo Merat serenaded the crowd with his guitar as they sat.

Dee Poku, Shoshanna Gruss, and Anna Kaiser were among those in attendance, wearing their summer finest. Looking out at her colleagues and friends against the backdrop of her very own Barbie Dreamhouse (which took four years to build), Sims couldn’t help but smile. “This is my happy place,” she said.

• Saie Teaches Us That Clean Beauty Doesn’t Call For Sacrifice

Saie Teaches Us That Clean Beauty Doesn’t Call For Sacrifice

[ad_1]

In terms of setting trends for clean beauty brands that can be both high quality and affordable, Saie leads the way. I always considered the clean beauty “Big Three” to be Kosas,
Saie, and Ilia. Because they’re consistently hailed for their luxurious formulas that won’t irritate your skin, and an overall sustainable production system down to their packaging.

Saie is powered by the community, with the motto being “you ‘Saie’ it, we create it.” They listen to what
you, the consumer, want in a product and they try their best to replicate it. In a world where celeb brands seem like desperate money grabs, this is a sigh of relief.

The comforting aspect about Saie is that they stand by “
The Feel Good Five” standards: C.L.E.A.N. This means their products are Conscious of people and the planet, Luxurious, Earth-minded, Award-winning, and New. Saie’s constantly creating fresh ways to innovate the clean beauty world without sacrificing the quality of their product.

I couldn’t help but trying a full face of
Saie’s makeup because I genuinely trust them… I admit that this may be tough for you if you haven’t tried the line before. However, with such high standards this brand is the real deal.

I scanned their Bestsellers List and ordered the basics to see just what they’re all about. Here’s my haul:

Overall, I was insanely impressed with Saie as a whole. All products are glowy – a trending look right now – thanks to ingredients like hyaluronic acid and licorice root. Since I’m huge on skincare, it’s fabulous that my makeup won’t clog my pores and benefits my skin while making me feel abso beautiful.

While I’ll go more into detail on each product in a bit, the
Sun Melt Bronzer stood out. It’s a balm bronzer that blends more consistently than most. With ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, grapeseed oil, and elderberry extract, you’re guaranteed that it will moisturize and protect your skin.

With
Saie’s makeup you don’t need to sacrifice anything (price, quality, etc.). Their products are affordable, aren’t tested on animals, and keep your skin top-of-mind, which is more than most luxury brands can say.

Here’s my product review:

Slip Tint

Definitely the best tinted moisturizer I’ve used so far. And I’ve tried everything – from Rare Beauty, to Milk, to Laura Mercier – and most make me look oily, or – even worse – patchy. The Saie Slip Tint is award-winning for a reason.

Glowy Super Skin Foundation

Take the word serum seriously: it will come out a bit runny, but don’t be alarmed. This plus
the Base Brush create the perfect “your skin but better” look that everyone craves. If you want summer makeup, this foundation will give you the best medium-coverage look that covers dark spots and acne, but not your freckles!

Glowy Super Gel

@thebeautyshelf Replying to @rach Do you agree?👀 the saie feels more like a serum, whereas the Rare definitely is a more intense highlight! #rarebeautymakeup#rarebeautyhighlight#saie#saiebeauty♬ Sunroof – Nicky Youre & dazy

Saie’s take on Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter is arguably better because it’s not as foundation-like or thick. It can be used as a primer, highlighter – or anything in between – to enhance your makeup. I love it as a primer for an added glow.
Hint: the Sunglow shade is a Drunk Elephant D’Bronzi Drops dupe.

Dew Blush

One of Saie’s hottest items, the Dew Blush is both pigmented and glowy. I think the Chilly shade is the perfect berry, sunkissed look that will work all summer long. It’s buildable, but also easy to blend.

HydraBeam Concealer

I adore this concealer’s formula! Plus, I’m a sucker for a doe-foot applicator. When you when you pull the applicator the bottle squeezes it out for you, so you don’t waste that precious concealer. It’s more luminescent than matte, and is fantastic for covering acne or those dark undereye bags.

Sun Melt Bronzer

Easy to blend, perfectly pigmented, and gives me a deep chisel that other bronzers simply cannot. I used to be impartial to Makeup By Mario’s Skin Enhancer, but Saie is giving them a run for their money right now. I’m torn.

• We Know The Next Big Makeup Trend

We Know The Next Big Makeup Trend

[ad_1]

I always say there are three makeup products you need to have on to feel presentable: mascara, eyebrow gel, and a lippie. Whether your lip product of choice is a matte lipstick, a sheer gloss, or a smudge of liner, my face doesn’t feel complete without some sort of pigment smeared on my lips.

Which also means I’ve amassed an absurd amount of lip products. I fall for every plumper, gloss, balm, glossy balm hybrid, liner, and whatever else the makeup gods come up with. If it’s a rose-nude shade, I’m probably buying it.

And I have no regrets! Why? Because not all lip products are made for the same makeup look. I’m not always in the mood for matte, and lipstick feels like too much of a commitment sometimes. For a more subtle look, I just line my lips and top with a clear gloss.

So, needless to say, my makeup bag is filled with lip liners and glosses galore…and so is my purse…and so are my drawers. I have every product from the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk line, and I’ll never say no to Makeup Forever’s liners. You get the idea.

Lips are my favorite part of my makeup routine. It’s also my job to follow trends and keep you, my dear readers, in the loop. Which is why I had to run and report that the makeup community has a new favorite product: lip blurs.

What Is A Lip Blur?

A lip blur is the perfect mix of matte, but not as harsh and drying as some formulas can be. And it’s the newest makeup must-have.

Every day, I’m bombarded with promotional emails and notifications telling me that I absolutely
need this new product. But just the other week, I noticed three brands dropped lip blurs in the same week. A little strange for it to be a coincidence and not a new trend.

Apparently, there’s a soft matte makeup trend that is all the rage right now on TikTok…which is absolutely shocking considering how long everyone spent obsessing over
dewy, glowy looks. Cue: the lip blur.

It is meant to “blur” the color onto your lips, attempting to give a smooth look to your lips with a semi-luminescent look. It’s both of the things you love about dewy and matte lipsticks into one. And it’s beauty’s fave product right now.

Charlotte Tilbury has been mixing lipstick with setting powder and concealers with lipstick to create an airbrushed look like the lip blur she just released. It’s the closest thing you can get to Botox without Botox itself, with Charlotte saying,

“It helps conceal texture on the lips, blurs fine lines around the lip area, and gives the illusion of a smoother, fuller looking pout.”

What’s good about the lip blur is that you can use a light amount for a tint of color on your lips, and diffuse it out for a blurring effect…or you can use it like you would any other gloss or liquid lipstick. It’s a super simple product to use, but it gives you the best of both worlds.

What Are The Best Lip Blurs?

If you want the ultimate soft-matte look, here are the best lip blurs on the market:

With hyaluronic acid, olive oil, jojoba esters, and berry fruit wax, Saie’s take on the matte-ish lippie is super hydrating. These moisturizing ingredients will help blur your lips without drying them out, so it’s a comfortable wear.

Like I said, Charlotte has been trying to create the perfect lip blur for years…and she finally did it. It’s buildable, smoothing, and modeled by the gorgeous
Bella Hadid (so of course you want it).

No, not a lip balm, and not just lipstick either. It’s the same creamy, hydrating formula as the other lip blurs, just with a longer name. Long-lasting and full-coverage, this lip blur is amazing.

• The Best Celeb Selected Gifts From Vogue’s Beauty Secrets

The Best Celeb Selected Gifts From Vogue’s Beauty Secrets

[ad_1]

Before there was TikTok, there was YouTube. The old me would sit down with a snack and watch storytimes, challenges, moving out videos, makeup tutorials, cooking shows, you name it. I ended my nights with budding influencers Emma Chamberlain, Tana Mongeau, James Charles, and David Dobrik.

To me, YouTube videos always felt a bit more intimate. Instead of a few minutes, an average YouTube storytime could go as long as an hour. And, although TikTok has ruined the attention spans of many, it was almost always captivating.

One of the best – and longest running – series on YouTube is Vogue’s Beauty Secrets. With over 275 episodes, you get the chance to sit down and watch a celebrity get ready in their bathroom. There’s something so wholesome about some of the biggest names in Hollywood telling you what makes them feel beautiful.

Better yet, you get to see what products your fave celeb is using. Some of them are clearly plugging their own brands or partnerships, but lately, it’s become the standard to recommend somewhat affordable products so everyone watching can buy, too.

Vogue’s got supermodels like Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber, rising stars like Euphoria’s Storm Reid and White Lotus’ Haley Lu Richardson, and even icons like Zoë Kravitz and Alicia Keys. While everyone has jotted down HB’s Kosas recs from her segment, I’ve gone and done research for the rest.

This year, if you’re struggling to find a gift for someone who loves all things beauty but has everything already, see what products their fave celebs are using. Confidence comes from within, but using the same cleanser as Ciara can’t hurt it either.

I’ve sat down and watched almost every Vogue Beauty Secrets from the past year and rounded up the best products you won’t want to miss out on. Let’s dig in.

Ciara

Nobody has skin quite like R&B royalty, Ciara – she even got her husband, Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson, into skincare. Luckily for the general public, she takes us through her glowy routine.

If you want to get rid of dark spots, even out your skin tone, and brighten your complexion, try her go-to OAM Vitamin C Cleanser. OAM, founded by Ciara, is affordable with quality ingredients so you aren’t getting scammed by celeb skincare.

Maude Apatow

One of our favorite nepo babies and Euphoria breakout star, Maude Apatow has one of the trendiest skincare and makeup routines I’ve seen. Filled with NARS, Charlotte Tilbury, Armani, and Laura Mercier, her routine is accessible and damn good.

My favorite tip of hers is that she uses two types of concealer: NARS Radiant Concealer and the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. I swear by the matte version, and the little pot lasts forever.

Kate Hudson

Seemingly ageless and always gorgeous, Kate Hudson’s Beauty Secrets video is seriously relaxing. She’s so casual about getting ready that it feels like you’re in the room with her. Her key to beautiful skin? Sleep, water, and supplements.

Her InBloom Beauty Aura supplements contain Marine Collagen for the ultimate hair, skin, and nail vitamin. Beauty really starts from within.

Natalia Bryant

Model and daughter of the late NBA star, Kobe Bryant, Natalia shares her skincare routine for those with sensitive skin. She uses a lash serum which is such an underrated product in the beauty community, but one of the few products that deliver genuine results in no time.

Cheaper than the average lash growth serum, her rec is Velour Lashes Long & Strong Lash Serum. It’s $42, cruelty free, and a great gift.

Kate Moss

Kate Moss is the OG It-Girl. She has a surprisingly minimalistic routine, but the perfect gift here is the Droplette Microinfusion Device. This cool skincare gadget dissolves capsuled skincare ingredients that transform into a mist on your face and set them deep in your skin.

Another favorite is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, which you’ve probably heard of from TikTok. This adorable palette has everything a makeup lover can ask for: contour, blush, and highlight in gorgeous, glowing shades.

Billie Eilish

I couldn’t write about
Vogue Beauty Secrets without including my queen, Billie Eilish. Billie’s on-tour skincare routine is mostly Biba de Sousa, an LA-based skincare brand that bridges luxury and clinical skincare.

I noticed that both Billie and Kate Moss recommend two products that we all know and love:
Kosas Cloud Setting Powder and Saie Hydrabeam Concealer. I have no choice but to purchase.
