    To mark Armistice Day on Tuesday, Prince William delivered a speech via video, encouraging young people to participate in remembrance commemorations and emphasizing the importance of wearing a poppy.

    In his message for the Royal British Legion’s “Remembrance Assembly,” which was open to students between the ages of 9 to 14, the Prince of Wales said the day was “a reminder that Remembrance is for everyone.”

    “When we remember, we connect with service in a personal way. We learn from the courage of others, and we carry their stories forward, so they are not forgotten. It’s not just about the past — it’s about shaping who we become in the future,” William, who served in the navy, the army and the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom, said. “Remembrance teaches us empathy, resilience, and responsibility. And when we wear a red poppy or take a moment of silence, we are saying, ‘Thank you. We have not forgotten, and we will not forget.’”

    In the UK, the poppy symbolizes respect and remembrance for those who have died in active service. The tradition comes from the 1915 wartime poem “In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae which describes red poppies growing between the graves of the fallen. The poppy is seen as both a symbol of bloodshed but also of hope and renewal.

    After eight years away from acting, Meghan Markle is making her Hollywood comeback with a small role in Close Personal Friends, an Amazon MGM comedy about two couples—one famous, one civilian—costarring Lily Collins and Brie Larson.     Directed by Jason Orley, according The Hollywood Reporter, Close Personal Friends tells the tale of two lovers who meet a celebrity couple on a trip to Santa Barbara, California—which, coincidentally, is not far from the Montecito compound where Meghan has been living with her husband, Prince Harry, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, since stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Vanity Fair has reached out to Meghan’s representative for comment.

    Once upon a time, before Meghan married Harry in 2018, she famously played lawyer Rachel Zane on the Canadian series Suits, which had a sudden resurgence on streaming during summer 2023. Her final episode aired on April 25, 2018, with her character walking down the aisle just three weeks before Meghan did herself, becoming a Duchess and effectively halting her acting career. “I don’t see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change,” Meghan said during her official engagement interview alongside Prince Harry in 2017. “I’ve been working on my show for seven years. So we’re very, very fortunate to be able to have that sort of longevity on a series, and for me, once we hit the 100-episode marker, I thought, You know what, I have ticked this box.”

    Now, after two seasons headlining her own lifestyle talk series, With Love, Meghan, Meghan is returning to scripted film and TV. But unlike other performers who have made buzzy exits from acting, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Cameron Diaz, less is known about Meghan’s past oeuvre. She was so under the radar pre–Prince Harry that she couldn’t even get booked on Bravo’s freewheeling late-night series, Watch What Happens Live, Meghan recounted on a 2022 episode of her now-shuttered podcast, Archetypes. Host Andy Cohen jokingly called it “the biggest blunder in the 13 years of the show.”

On October 28, the Sussexes attended the fourth game of the World Series, between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays. The couple sat in the front row behind the dugout, all smiles, with Los Angeles team caps on their heads, cheering for their adopted hometown team.

    But Prince Harry made the mistake of wearing a Dodgers cap. As soon as he was spotted wearing the bright blue accessory, some Canadians accused him of betraying his heritage: Canada is a Commonwealth country whose head of state is King Charles III. Arriving in Canada on Wednesday for a two-day visit to commemorate Remembrance Day, celebrated on November 11, Prince Harry was naturally asked about what has jokingly been deemed “hatgate.”

    “Is there anything you’d like to say about wearing that Los Angeles Dodgers cap last week and getting in hot water?” he was asked by CTV News on Thursday.

    “Oh, the Los Angeles Dodgers cap. Well, firstly, I’d like to apologize to Canada for wearing it,” he explained. “Secondly, I was under duress, there wasn’t much choice,” he added with a smile. Invited to the game by the Dodgers’ owner, he thought it was “polite” to do so. Prince Harry confided that there was an additional reason for his choice of headgear. “When you’re missing a lot of hair on top and you’re sitting under floodlights, you’ll take any hat that’s available,” he joked.

  • Prince William and Princess Kate Played “Crucial Role” in Decision to Strip Andrew of Title, Says Source

    According to another source, William spent time with his father in Scotland last month discussing how to deal with what is apparently known as “the Andrew problem.”

    “The king doesn’t like confrontation and had concerns about cutting Andrew out completely. He is worried about Andrew being a loose cannon. William has been much firmer from the outset. He has no sentimental attachment to Andrew; he thinks he is toxic and wants him as far away as possible.

    They both agreed the family needed to distance itself from Andrew, and robust action needed to happen. On that, they were absolutely aligned.”

    In recent weeks, leaked emails emerged showing that Andrew continued to keep in touch with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein for some time after he claimed he cut off contact in a 2019 Newsnight interview with journalist Emily Maitlis. Soon after, Andrew’s princely status and royal orders were revoked.

    This week, King Charles issued a letters patent to formally and legally remove Andrew of his HRH titles and that of “Prince.”

    At the banquet in honor of Haitham Bin Tariq, the sultan and prime minister of Oman, Queen Letizia of Spain looked like something out of a painting. The sovereign paired a dreamy cobalt blue gown with a tiara made of platinum, pearls, and diamonds that has been in the royal family for generations.

    Last time Queen Letizia had worn a tiara at home in the Royal Palace was back in 2023. The Queen and King Felipe welcomed Colombian President Gustavo Petro, and for the traditional banquet the sovereign favored the a red Carolina Herrera dress and the gracefulness of the floral tiara that belonged to Maria Christina of Spain. In that same jewel collection resides Queen Letizia’s latest “Russian tiara” she wore for the Sultan of Oman’s state visit to Spain.

    Queen Letizia’ Cartier Loop Tiara is thought to have first belonged to Queen Maria Christina of Habsburg-Lorraine, created in 1886. She held regency over Spain from the death of her husband, King Alfonso XII, until the accession of her son, Alfonso XIII, in 1902. The style, which features pearls set in a series of diamond loops has been handed down through generations of Spanish royals, and was a favorite of Letizia’s mother-in-law, Queen Sofía.

    Some jewelry experts believe that the tiara was a gift to then-Archduchess Maria Christina of Habsburg-Lorraine for her wedding to King Alfonso XII of Spain. In reality, historians now seem to agree, it would be a personal commission from Maria Christina who became regent after the death of her husband since her son, Alfonso XIII, had not yet been born when his father passed away.

  • After Andrew Is Stripped of Royal Titles, Prince William Hopes to Shift the Focus

    In a bid to reduce his carbon footprint, William flew on a commercial flight ahead of Wednesday’s ceremony, which will mark five years of his environmental initiative. Every year, five finalists are each awarded £1M (which converts to about $1,305,260 USD) to put their plans into practice. Aides have described the awards as William’s legacy project and something that will continue when he becomes king.

    In a recent interview with HELLO! Magazine, William said, “As a father, I think constantly about the world my children will inherit. I want them to grow up surrounded by nature, opportunity, and a sense of hope about the future. But I also know that unless we act boldly now, that future is at risk. The Earthshot Prize is about turning the tide, about proving to our children that we are willing to fight for their tomorrow.”

    William has the full support of his father, King Charles, who encouraged him to establish the awards as a way to find solutions around the globe to protect and save the planet.

    For months, royal watchers have been fascinated by a tiny mystery: The small ring gleaming on Queen Camilla‘s left-hand pinky finger. It sits discreetly next to the precious Art Deco engagement ring given to her by husband King Charles III, and interested parties have found little information at hand about the jewelry and its history. It’s part of the Royal Collection, but further details are sparse. What, then, has made it so special to the queen?

    From photos, it appears that Queen Camilla began wearing the mystery ring in February 2025. It didn’t take long for royal enthusiasts to take notice. In pictures, not much could be seen of the piece, but it seemed to be made of gold, with several small circles in the design. It was noted that Charles, too, wears a ring on his own left pinky. His is a signet ring, and has been a constant for more than 50 years.

    The Royal Collection described the piece as “a gold ring composed of seven circular plaques, each engraved with ancient symbols, plain gold shield in front.” Other pieces in the collection have more information, such as the piece’s provenance. When experts zoomed in on image of the ring, they identified some symbols related to the tradition of ancient Greece, including a boat, a lyre, an amphora, as well as Greek letters.

  • Andrew Mountbatten Windsor Isn’t a Prince Anymore, but He Could Still Become King

    On the official Buckingham Palace website, the line of succession to the throne still shows the “Duke of York” in eighth place. Of course, this page is missing an update, considering that this noble title has been unclaimed for more than two weeks. In an October 17 statement, Prince Andrew publicly renounced it after a “discussion with the king and my immediate and wider family.” After the palace’s shocking announcement last week that King Charles was stripping his brother of his titles and honors, the lingering name is evidence of a strange truth: Though Queen Elizabeth II’s third child is no longer a prince, he could still become king.

    To remove Andrew Mountbatten Windsor from the line of succession would require an act of parliament. That, in turn, would need approval from the commonwealth member states, since the British monarch is recognized as their head of state. And despite pressure from Westminster to look into permanently removing Andrew from the line, Keir Starmer’s government “has no plans” to do so, per the BBC.

    Removing Andrew from the line of succession would primarily be a symbolic gesture, as the former prince’s chances of assuming the throne are almost nil. At birth, Andrew was second in line, but now his name falls after Prince William and his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, followed by Prince Harry and his two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

    Little by little, Andrew has lost nearly all of the distinctions associated with royal status. In 2022 the queen revoked his honorary military ranks and he was denied the right to style himself “His Royal Highness” in an official capacity. Last month, Andrew gave up the Duchy of York. Now, the formal process of withdrawing his titles and honors is underway, including the appellation of “prince.” But if Andrew were to be removed from the line of succession, Parliament’s involvement would become necessary.

  • Prince William and Kate Middleton Officially Have a New Address

    Prince William and Kate Middleton have moved into what they hope will be their “home for life.” The couple and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, have bid farewell to Adelaide Cottage, where they had been living since late summer 2022, to take up discreet residence at Forest Lodge, a magnificent 19th-century manor house, also located on Windsor’s Great Park. The move took place during the All Saints’ vacation, which ended on Sunday, November 2, according to the Telegraph.

    The couple’s move was confirmed by Kensington Palace last August. It was scheduled to take place “before Christmas,” but some renovation and modernization work, both inside and out, was reportedly completed ahead of schedule, allowing the timeline to shift. The necessary renovations, as well as the installation of privacy measures, are said to have been financed by the future king, William, himself. The family’s belongings were gradually moved from one house to another so that the move could be completed before the end of the school holidays, the Telegraph reported.

    The red-brick mansion offers more space than the Prince and Princess of Wales’s previous home. Adelaide Cottage has four bedrooms, while Forest Lodge has twice as many. There’s also plenty of green space, including a pond and tennis court. By moving into Forest Lodge, the Waleses are staying in Windsor’s Great Park, where they love the peace and tranquillity of the green expanses, while remaining close to Windsor Castle and London—a good hour’s drive away—where they regularly travel on official business. As the old and new houses are only a 10 minute drive apart, the family will be able to maintain their usual routines. The children will continue to attend Lambrook School.

The auctioneer peddled a pair of tickets to next month’s New York premiere of Wicked: For Good, with Chu sweetening the pot: “I will grab you by the hand on that carpet, and I will walk you to whoever we see and get you in there!” It sold for $55,000. Bowen Yang, who explained that Chu cast him in the Wicked films despite “bravely” forgoing an audition, was a presenter alongside the musical’s composer and lyricist, Stephen Schwartz.   • King Charles Issues Stinging Rebuke, Andrew Stripped of “Prince” Title and Home

    At the direction of King Charles, Buckingham Palace made a near unprecedented announcement on Thursday evening. Prince Andrew, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, the House of Windsor’s official family name, and will lose his home and surrender the lease on Royal Lodge.

    “His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” read a statement from Buckingham Palace. “His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”

    The announcement comes nearly six years after Andrew stepped back from his official duties as a senior royal due to the controversy over his relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Though Andrew’s involvement in the scandal has been a matter of public debate since 2011, new developments have made his presence at family events with fellow royals a continued problem for the king and his son Prince William.

    The palace statement acknowledged that allegations have continued to cause controversy for years, despite Andrew’s denials. “These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him,” the statement continued. “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

    The palace confirmed to Vanity Fair that Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will retain their titles. In addition to the princely title, which was his right at birth, Andrew will also lose his dukedom. As such, he may no longer style himself “Duke of York,” “Earl of Inverness,” “Baron Killyleagh,” or “His Royal Highness.” He will also be stripped of his honors, including Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Victorian Order.

    One palace source said that the king initiated the process to strip his brother of his HRH status and titles, and Andrew has not objected. The king has the backing of the Prince of Wales, and other members of the family agree that Andrew should be stripped of his titles.

    Two weeks ago, Andrew said in a statement issued through Buckingham Palace that he would entirely forgo the use of his “Duke of York” title. “I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life,” it read. “With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honors which have been conferred upon me.” But the public outcry continued, and there have been calls within parliament to formally strip Andrew of his titles.

  • Albert Windsor, 18-Year-Old Cousin of King Charles, Is the British Royal Family’s Gen Z Heartthrob

    Once upon a time, it was Prince William who created scenes of collective hysteria among young girls. Today, since it’s still early days for little Prince George to inherit the title, Gen-Zers needn’t fear: There’s a Prince Charming for you, and his name is Albert Windsor.

    If you don’t know him and you’re under 25, note this name: he’s the only royal to have been included by Tatler, the English high society magazine, in the list of the most eligible bachelors who will be increasingly discussed in the coming months.

    With a melancholy yet captivating look and short blond hair, Albert Windsor is only 18 but shows great promise. The cousin of King Charles and grandson of the Duke of Kent, from whom he will one day inherit the title, he is the first royal to bear the name of Prince Albert, known as Bertie, who later became George VI, father of Elizabeth II. Furthermore, Albert was the first royal baby in the modern era to be baptized in a Catholic rite.

    His father, Lord Nicholas, converted to Catholicism and was forced to renounce his position in the line of succession to the throne, thus also excluding Albert, who would have been 37th in line. The boy grew up in Rome with his two younger brothers, Leopold, now 16 (and who, like his brother, already shows signs of being a potential heartthrob), and Louis, 11.

    The fact that he was away from the United Kingdom for much of his childhood meant that he was rarely seen in public. Since turning 18, Albert seems to have become more active in society. Unlike his father, who is not on good terms with the royal family and was reportedly not even invited to King Charles’s coronation ceremony, the boy is viewed favorably by the monarchy.

    At the funeral of his grandmother, Katharine, Duchess of Kent—held at Westminster Cathedral in London—the young man was reportedly close to William, Kate, and Charles himself, godfather at his father Nicholas’s christening. So, watch out for this newly minted blue-blooded eligible bachelor.

  • Juan Carlos, Former King of Spain, Finally Comments on Princess Diana Affair Rumors

    “Cold, taciturn, distant, except in the presence of the paparazzi.” That’s how King Juan Carlos of Spain describes Princess Diana in his long-awaited memoir, Reconciliation, which is due out next month.

    For an interview in Le Figaro Magazine, journalist Charles Jaigu traveled to the former monarch’s residence in Abu Dhabi to discuss the memoir, which was written in collaboration with French writer Laurence Debray. He also denied ever having a relationship with Diana, whom he got to know when she spent summers at Marivent Palace with King Charles III, her then husband, and their two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

    The late princess’s marriage to Charles had already begun to founder by the time they first visited Marivent, and Diana might have found an ally in King Juan Carlos. This might explain why Diana decided to stay in Marivent after Charles returned to England, and she ultimately returned for another three years.

    “The king was very attentive to her, perhaps too much so,” Roberto Devorik, Diana’s former adviser and confidant, later told Vanity Fair España. “One summer he told her that she looked very much like the British journalist Selina Scott. After one of those vacations, Diana confessed to me that Queen Sofia had not liked her very much,” he said, adding, “[Diana] flirted with Juan Carlos, but innocently, as any woman would do.”

  • Princess Diana’s 70-Year-Old Sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale Suffered a “Very Bad Fall”

    Fortunately, it seems that the Prince of Wales’ aunt is in high spirits despite her fall, with Earl Spencer joking that she had been a “handful” for her doctors to deal with. “I think, [she] was quite a handful as a patient, because the said doctor said to my brother-in-law, ‘She’s quite a character isn’t she?’ which I think is code for, ‘Could you take her home?’”he revealed, referring to Lady Sarah’s husband, Neil McCorquodale.

    Born in 1955, Sarah was the first child of John Spencer and Frances Roche. Her sister, Jane, was born two years later, followed by John – who tragically died within 10 hours of his birth in 1960 – then Diana and, finally, Charles, who would go on to become the 9th Earl Spencer. The siblings were raised at Park House, a rented home on the Sandringham estate, and it’s said that Diana played together with Princes Andrew and Edward, who were close to her in age.

    Her auspicious meet-cute with Prince Charles came in 1977, when they were introduced at the annual Royal Ascot house party at Windsor. The two began dating soon after and, according to Tina Brown, former Vanity Fair editor-in-chief and author of The Diana Chronicles, Sarah enjoyed the Prince “squiring her around” and received “a flattering stream of invitations to Windsor and Balmoral.” In November that year, Sarah invited Charles to shoot at Althorp, which is when he first captured the heart of the then 16-year-old Diana–although, according to Brown, she registered then “on Charles’ radar only as a jolly and bouncy younger sister of Sarah.”

    The tiara, composed of diamonds arranged to form a delicate garland of wild roses, had not been worn in public since the 1930s. Purchased from London jewelers Catchpole & Williams, it was presented to the Queen Mother, Elisabeth Bowes-Lyon, by her father, the Earl of Strathmore, on the occasion of her marriage to the Duke of York in 1923. The jewel has an ingenious design; it can be worn as a tiara, but can also be disassembled to form five independent brooches.

    Elizabeth wore it as a tiara for a series of portraits taken shortly after her wedding; according Lauren Kiehna of jewelry website The Court Jeweller, she was last photographed wearing this piece in the 1930s. Upon her death in 2002, the jewel passed into the hands of her daughter, Queen Elizabeth II—who chose never to wear it. The piece was kept in a vault until it was brought out again in 2023 to adorn Kate Middleton’s head at the State Dinner, at a time when many thought it too fragile or damaged to be worn again.

Messika received the award for Best Design for its Zebra Luhlaza necklace, inspired by the landscapes of Nigeria. Dior Joaillerie took the Savoir-Faire category for their Diorexquis Forêt Nacrée necklace, while the 30.75-carat pear-cut emerald from Brazil that decorates Louis Vuitton’s Apogée choker won the award for Most Beautiful Stone. Chanel Haute Joaillerie’s Sweater Prestige necklace won the prize for the best design of the year and Tiffany & Co. won two awards: the Grand Jury’s Grand Prize and the Heritage Award.

    This first edition has laid the groundwork to become an unmissable event for lovers of fine jewelry in years to come.

  • Inside Adelaide Cottage, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Soon-To-Be Former Home

    If reports are to be believed, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children may move to their new “forever home” in Windsor in a matter of weeks—leaving the cosy confines of Adelaide Cottage behind. The family are relocating to a larger property, Forest Lodge, a historic Georgian mansion in a private section of Windsor Great Park which will be their primary residence for decades to come, even when William becomes King.

    Despite this exciting new venture, the couple and their children will, no doubt, be sad to say goodbye to Adelaide Cottage—which has played host to many important moments for them over the years.

    Prince William and Kate Middleton previously raised their family in London, living at Apartment 1A in the grounds of Kensington Palace. At the time of their relocation to Adelaide Cottage in 2022, sources close to the couple told the Daily Mail that it was intended “to test a new location and see if it worked for them as a family.” It didn’t hurt, of course, that Windsor Great Park was just a short drive from Lambrook, where Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are currently all enrolled as pupils—and indeed, they soon settled into the candy pink cottage.

    Originally built for Queen Adelaide, the wife of King William IV, in 1831, the home has been used by a number of monarchs. Queen Victoria often visited the cottage for breakfast or tea, and her dog, Dash, is buried in the gardens. Peter Townsend, who famously had a love affair with Princess Margaret, was another of Adelaide Cottage’s more notable residents—the pilot moved in with his wife and family in 1945 and remained there for the best part of a decade, although he battled against the “limited amenities” of the property. Townsend described the cottage as an “ice box” in the winter, as it only had two radiators: “In the drawing-room, surrounded by French windows, it was sometimes necessary to wrap up in an overcoat and scarf,” Townsend wrote in his memoir, Time and Chance.

    Since then, the house has undergone a few renovations which have made it a little more comfortable—and somewhat grander. It’s said that the works completed in 2015 included a few lavish, decorative features, including gilded dolphins and rope ornamentation on the ceiling of the master bedroom, and a Greco-Egyptian marble fireplace. The historical architecture and original porch of Adelaide Cottage were preserved, however, as were the manicured gardens surrounding the property, which have remained almost untouched for nearly 200 years.

  • How a Necklace May Rewrite the Love Story of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon

    In 2019, Birmingham cafe owner Charlie Clarke was walking through a field in Warwickshire with a metal detector he’d purchased some six months earlier. His hobby walk resulted in the discovery of a heart-shaped pendant now called the Tudor Heart. A beep alerted Clarke to the presence of something near a drained pond, so he decided to start digging. He thought it would be the usual coins; instead he unearthed a chain and an ornate pendant, all made of solid gold. It’s a find that Nicholas Cullinan, the director of the British Museum where the heirloom is currently on display, called the piece “perhaps one of the most incredible pieces of English history to have ever been unearthed.”

    There are many mysteries surrounding the Tudor Heart, including how that pendant got to that field, a question that may never be answered. After being painstakingly analyzed in every detail from a scientific as well as historical point of view, the relic has been confirmed as a genuine one of the era. It may have been created for the couple’s daughter, Princess Mary, with markings representing both her parents and their love for one another.

    The heart-shaped locket pendant is attached to a 75-ring chain through a fist-shaped clasp. Everything was made with pure gold. On the front is an enameled decoration depicting a pomegranate bush, the emblem of Catherine’s family and a symbol of fertility, on which a red and white Tudor rose, Henry’s symbol, stands out while behind are the initials of the two, “H” and “K” (Katherine, Catherine in English).

    It reads “tousjors” on the ribbon engraved on both sides. That means “always” in Old French, but Rachel King, the scholar who curates the European Renaissance section at the British Museum, suggested that it may also be meant as a pun between “tovs” and “iors,” which would be to say “all yours” in Old Franglais, a language melding French and Old English.

    Many hypotheses have been made to contextualize the jewel, and not all of them are so romantic. The British Museum theorized that the heart-shaped pendant could have been created at a tournament held in 1518 to celebrate the betrothal between Mary, the daughter of Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon, who was just two years old, and the Dauphin of France Francis of Valois, only eight months old. The match would make Mary the first reigning queen, ruling England in her own right.
