  • Couple arrested for murder, child abuse after 7-year-old dies and 5-year-old hurt at Roseville home

    A couple living at a Roseville home have been arrested on suspicion of murder and child abuse after a girl died Monday and another child was injured, police said. Police said officers around 7:37 a.m. went to Oahu Court north of Blue Oaks Boulevard for a medical aid call after an adult resident in the home reported an unresponsive 7-year-old girl. There, they found a girl with apparent injuries who was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Medical personnel later declared her dead.Officers found another 5-year-old girl in a bedroom who also had injuries, police said. She was also taken to the hospital. Two other children were sleeping inside the house and were not injured.Jessica Savangsy, 26, and Retuquel Dupree, 27, were booked into the South Placer County Jail for charges including murder, conspiracy, and felony child abuse, records showed.Savangsy and Dupree were in a dating relationship and lived at the home, and Savangsy was the mother of both of the victims, Roseville police said. The Citrus Heights Police Department said Dupree was formerly employed with the department from June 8 to Aug. 5 in 2021. They would not share more about his former position or the reason for his departure, but confirmed he did not quit. Oahu Court was taped off from the public.   • Police investigating after two found fatally shot in Roseville parking lot

    Police are investigating after two people were found with fatal gun shot wounds in a Roseville, Minnesota parking lot. 

    Police say they were called to 1600 block of County Road B2 around 2 p.m. Wednesday after a customer said two people who appeared to be passed out in a car.

    When officers arrived they found an adult male and female inside the car. Both appeared to have been shot and were dead.

    Police say that a gun was found inside the car and they don’t believe anyone else was involved in the shooting. There is no on-going risk to the public.

    (FOX40.COM) — A second man accused of stealing $9,000 worth of SPAM, groceries, and alcohol from a local store was arrested after police used his ankle monitor data to find him.

    “With his ankle GPS spamming his every move, he practically gave us a step-by-step guide to his thieving escapades,” said the Roseville Police Department. “Our suspect is now enjoying a luxurious trip back to Placer County Jail.”

    The recent arrest was of a man who was the passenger in the car when police found the stolen items, according to RPD. The driver was arrested after a foot chase at the time of the incident, however, the passenger temporarily escaped. Police said they tracked him down in Stockton and transported him back to Placer County.

    Stanley cup mania landed one Sacramento woman in handcuffs last week after she wheeled a shopping cart full of the reusable water bottles out of a store without paying, authorities said.

    On Jan. 17, Roseville police responded to a shoplifting call north of Sacramento in the 6000 block of Stanford Ranch Road.

    Retail workers reported seeing the suspect leave with dozens of Stanley cups in her cart. She ignored their calls to stop and stuffed the merchandise into her car before leaving, police said.

    Officers stopped the woman just as she pulled onto a local highway.

    Police say a woman filled her car with Stanley water bottles, ignoring employees’ calls for her to stop.

    After searching her car, 65 Stanley cups worth about $2,500 were recovered, according to police. The woman, who hasn’t been identified, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft.

    Fueled by influencers, the craze over the Stanley bottles, which are popular for keeping drinks chilled for hours, has led to fights and shouting matches as exclusive colors and collaborations fly off the shelves.

    Retailers on eBay are currently selling a coveted pink Starbucks Stanley cup for as much as $5,000.

    Law enforcement agencies have warned consumers to be on the lookout for scams related to counterfeit cups and credit card theft.

    Roseville police cautioned against trying to cash in on the craze by way of retail theft.

    “While Stanley Quenchers are all the rage,” the police department wrote on Facebook, “we strongly advise against turning to crime to fulfill your hydration habits.”
