10 Ways to Make Miniskirts Feel Very 2023

    [ad_1]

In a year filled with denim skirts, sheer skirts, ruffled skirts, and floor-sweeping maxi skirts, I’m going against the grain to admit something that, potentially, might get me in some hot water: There’s nothing better than a plain ol’, simple miniskirt

While you can (insert any random statistic here) about shorter hemlines leading to more spending power, I don’t need a mathematical theory telling me it’s a good financial decision to pick up a miniskirt to wear with my favorite trendy items this fall. While wearing a simple, tailored short skirt can seem like it borders on the edge of being boring, there are plenty of ways to integrate all this year’s fall trends into your outfit and keep the classic silhouette feeling incredibly fresh. From fiery pops of color our editors can’t stop thinking about to industrial details Miuccia Prada already gave a shout-out to during a recent Prada runway show, these 10 miniskirt outfit ideas might have hitting the checkout button before you know what hit you.

  • I’ve Never Been a Revolve Girl, But Consider Me Converted by These 32 Fall Finds

I’ve Never Been a Revolve Girl, But Consider Me Converted by These 32 Fall Finds

    [ad_1]

Though I shopped at Revolve probably too much in high school (back before the company dropped the word “clothing” in its domain name), I almost never do in my adult life. As someone whose style errs more on the hushed, timeless side as opposed to the colorful, lively one, I never really thought there was anything for me there apart from the occasional in-stock sneaker or chic Helsa dress. But with a new season approaching, I thought I’d use it as an excuse to give Revolve another chance. It’s the least I could do for the brand that supplied me with my junior-year prom dress. (It was coral, but so was everyone’s in 2013.)

Following an afternoon-long scroll through Revolve’s fall arrivals, I’m officially ready to admit that I’d been 100% wrong to think that the retailer wasn’t fully stocked with pieces that would perfectly align with my more minimalist style preferences. In fact, my findings were some of the best fall pieces I’ve discovered all season, and that includes things from my tried-and-true stores and designers. From ’90s-inspired strapless dresses to elegant basics including knitwear, trousers, and outerwear, the 32 items below converted me. Consider me a Revolve girl from now on.

  • Fall 2023 Fashion Outlook

    Fall 2023 Fashion Outlook

    [ad_1]

One of my favorite things to do every night before bed is fill my online cart with tons of clothes. Call me delusional or a dreamer, but I love to think about what I would buy in an ideal world. Spending all this time window shopping also helps me figure out what’s trending, and what styles might be surging into popularity soon.

I’ve always been the type of person who emphasizes the importance of a bomb outfit. Nothing impacts my confidence like what fit I’m rocking. It’s my duty to serve.

With New York Fashion Week in full swing, the streets of the city are flooded with luxury-clad off-duty models showing us the ropes. Fashion Weeks are a good indicator of what everyone else will be wearing soon enough.

The stylish cohorts walking the streets of FW are already sporting future trends – like when everyone was wearing the MSCHF Big Red Boots around. Before you know it, we’ll be ditching our linen sets and fluorescent colors for whatever Bella Hadid is wearing. It’s a never ending rollercoaster, but we prevail.

Fall fashion 2023 will have elements of the familiar, plus a few dark horses. There will be pieces that look like an old friend to you, buried deep in your closet from when they were last trending, and pieces that will soon flood fashion store floors in mass quantities.

If you’re feeling a little lost shopping for those fall fits, here’s what I’ve found:

Revolve Isn’t Usually My Go-To for Fall Shopping, But These 36 Finds Won Me Over

    [ad_1]

In this editor’s opinion, Revolve is one of the best retailers on the market when it comes to living your summer fantasy. European vacation? Festivalwear? Leo-themed birthday parties? Late-summer weddings? More than likely, there’s an outfit for that at Revolve. It’s why I constantly find myself going back to the retailer every summer, but candidly, I usually flock to the shiny gowns and adorable two-piece sets available on its site when the weather is hot.

Don’t get me wrong. I lightly browse Revolve year-round, but I don’t check the site as regularly once the weather starts going down. After spending a good chunk of time browsing through the retailer’s newest pre-fall arrivals and latest in-house label drops, I’ve fallen in love once again. Now that fall is around the corner, I was shocked to see Revolve’s ultra-cool autumnal offerings. From chunky runway-inspired cardigans to staple denim silhouettes models off duty are picking up this year, Revolve has some of the best unexpected finds of fall 2023. Consider me shocked.

Below, browse and shop the 36 editor-approved fall items that made me do a double take when I saw them. Naturally, I’m adding them to my cart expeditiously before they sell out because—trust me—they will.

My Favorite Going-Out Outfit Includes This Cool-Girl Staple—38 Under-$100 Finds

To know me is to know I simply don’t leave the house without good reason. Dinner and drinks past 8 p.m. during prime Real Housewives of Salt Lake City watching time? Most definitely not. I can, however, be convinced if a particular outing involves an equally-as-compelling outfit.

Enter the classic going-out top. For many cool girls on Instagram and starlets, it’s often the first thing they turn to when picking out something to wear for a night out. The term noticeably leaves a ton of room for interpretation. Maybe it’s a sparkly, bedazzled crop top, a silky halter-neck, or perhaps one of the dozens of options on the market right now, all clocking in at under $100. With new styles coming in hot every day on our favorite retailers like Zara, Revolve, and Shopbop, there’s quite literally a going-out top for every occasion you could possibly think of. Plus, they go especially well with jeans or a classic pair of black trousers, no matter the occasion. Versatility rating? Major score.

Honestly? When I look at Revolve’s site, it’s usually to find a party dress or event look. In my opinion, they have a large variety of on-trend gowns and dresses that are perfect for any occasion on your social calendar. But after taking a recent hours-long dive into the retailer’s new arrivals, I realized I clearly haven’t been giving Revolve enough credit. Whether you’re planning to spend your summer strolling through Manhattan or touring the cobblestone streets of Lisbon, there is likely one detail you shouldn’t overlook when shopping for the perfect summer dress to wear all season long: the fabrics and styles that are going to keep you as cool and comfortable as possible. There should be a saying—once a Revolve girl always a Revolve girl. Because, honestly, once you start shopping the site it will quickly become one of your favorites, and even growing older can’t change that. Whether it’s the free shipping, easy returns, extensive collection, user-friendly layout, or high-low offering, everywhere you look there’s another reason to love it, and while some people think of Revolve and assume it’s all party clothes and Coachella outfits, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Sure, last time I checked they carried over 3,800 crop tops but the shopping destination has so much more to offer. Plus, who doesn’t love a crop top?!

Back to the so much more to offer part—today I’ve rounded up the best pieces from the site for spring from all my favorite brands, with a fresh perspective now that I’ve officially entered my thirties. I Work At Revolve—These Soon-to-Be Viral Festival Items Will Sell Out First

    [ad_1]

There’s a few things that always loom over Indio, California while everyone is partying in the desert in April— the scorching sun, for one, and the ubiquitous, unmistakable, inescapable presence of Revolve and their mega-watt star-studded crowd of models, influencers, and celebrities. The retailer has worked tirelessly for years to maintain its cool girl image year-round, but for one weekend in April, it shines ten times brighter than usual (and not just because Revolve’s shiny, sequin-covered mini dresses and metallic cowboy boots are on display.)

Festivals— including Coachella, Revolvefest, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and the like—have become synonymous with Revolve’s ever-growing amount of trend-forward clothing and in-house brands. And it’s not by accident: Revolve’s attire is expertly curated, providing their customers with a fashion-forward experience that practically guarantees them internet virality. “The Revolve customer is always looking for a statement piece that draws attention whether it’s a dress, an earring, a shoe, etc,” Revolve’s Chief Merchandising Officer Lauren Yerkes tells Who What Wear. In a world where social media engagement is currency, having something that will set you apart from the crowd is essential: “We know they are coming to us looking for the latest trends and emerging designers that she can tag on Instagram and share with her friends.”

Enter: Revolve’s 2023 Festival Shop to wear at their flagship music festival taking place April 15 and April 16. If you’re not attending a festival this summer, no worries: the styles are versatile enough to wear to summer parties, picnic dates, or tropical vacations with specialized style edits revolving around colorful knitwear, ’90s minimalism, and double-denim— all 2023 trends that live far beyond this summer’s festival circuit.

Naturally, as a leading force who conceptualizes what items Revolve’s festival shop centers, Yerkes is almost single-handedly instrumental in wearing (and selling out!) this season. At a glance, Yerkes and her team are already predicting some big winners at Revolvefest and Coachella later this month: “We have seen trends change over the years but crochet, mesh, and any sheer elements seem to remain consistent,” she explains. “This year we feel strongly about metallics, western elements, nods to the 90’s, sneakers, and cowboy boots.” We’re sold already.

Below, shop all the items her and the Revolve team are guaranteeing will be all over your #FYP this summer.

As a Miami native, I’m ashamed to admit how many bikinis I have laying around my room at home. I’ve vowed to only buy three pieces of swimwear each summer since I was 20 years old—mostly after seeing how much I’d spent on bikinis, one-pieces, and cover-ups since high school. If there is one thing my friends are always asking me for, it’s where they can get great tops for a night out that aren’t super expensive. I think we can all admit that the perfect night-out top can be one of the hardest things to shop for. I’m not sure why, but it’s so hard to get your hands on a top that’s not so expensive that you’ll be heartbroken if you spill your drink on it but not so inexpensive that it looks like your old bodysuit from college. It’s a hard line to straddle, but if anyone is up to the challenge of finding the ultimate going-out top, it’s me. When I think “going out,” the first retailer I gravitate toward is Revolve. It has so many fun brands that make clothes with the intention of making you look chic and cool on a night out. I know the site can be a little intimidating to shop with so many options, but if you do a little digging, you can find so many great pieces. I’m Already Thinking Ahead: 30 Epic Revolve Items I’m Prioritizing for Spring

Call it controversial, but I’m already over the winter. With the thrill of the holidays past, it’s certainly harder to feel excited about stepping into a vortex of cold air and piling on every layer in existence. Bring on the moderate days and iced coffee! Since my mind is already strolling through a botanical garden with a light jacket, my shopping habits are reflecting this spring state of mind. So I headed to Revolve, whose new arrivals are famously ahead of the curve, and its selection did not disappoint.

Among the mountain of linen currently sitting on my list of wants, joyful tones like lilac and cerulean keep popping up on my list too. After gravitating heavily toward moodier shades like dark gray and black, I could really use the endorphin boost to make it through the rest of the season. But even if you’re still happily riding the tail end of the winter, it’s smart to bulk up your spring wardrobe ahead of time. • I Rarely Wear Black Jeans, But I’m Changing My Tune After Seeing These Outfits

I Rarely Wear Black Jeans, But I’m Changing My Tune After Seeing These Outfits

    [ad_1]

I was (fashionably) late to the jean party. My first foray into pants was experimenting with my mom’s old stirrup leggings, but beyond that, dresses and skirts were strictly my jam. Anything with separate legs felt restrictive and as far as hemlines were concerned, the shorter the better.

That all changed when I discovered vintage in high school. Turned onto the “joy of the hunt” by a friend, I became addicted to the adrenaline rush of discovering one-of-a-kind pieces. My previous grievances against pants were quickly forgotten when I fell for a pair of perfectly worn-in Levi’s. This was holy grail denim: buttery soft, slightly androgynous, and in the most perfect sky blue wash. I was hooked, and my repertoire expanded quickly: frayed cutoffs in lieu of miniskirts, indigo bootcut jeans over slip dresses. My sweaters were set aside in favor of oversized, distressed denim jackets. I’d turned into a true blue-jean baby.

Denim still factors heavily in my closet. I’m in jeans almost every day. Recently, I crossed over to the dark side. Black jeans create a totally different look, and I was keen to switch things up. Revamping my denim drawer made me feel like I was in high school again, chasing a high through different cuts and washes. If you’ve recently fallen into a denim rut, read on to revitalize your black denim spark.
