    A young goldendoodle abandoned inside Harry Reid International Airport has found a more loving home — with one of the officers who rescued him.

    Las Vegas police announced that Officer Skeeter Black and his family adopted the 2‑year‑old pup, renamed JetBlue after the airline where he was left tied to a ticket counter baggage sizer.

    The dog was abandoned after his previous owner, Germiran Bryson, was told she couldn’t board her flight without proper service‑dog documentation. Instead of leaving the airport with the dog or arranging care, she walked away.

    “What began as a heartbreaking act of abandonment has turned into a powerful example of compassion, teamwork, and community partnership,” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department wrote in an Instagram post.

    The Leash of Destiny

    Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas, which cared for JetBlue since he was taken into custody on Feb. 2, said it was inundated with hundreds of applications to adopt the pooch after police broke the sad news of his abandonment on Feb. 18. However, there was never really a doubt where he was headed.

    According to police, the very same rescue had approved the Black family to adopt a goldendoodle months earlier, long before JetBlue appeared at the airport.

    Photos and video released by the department show the moment Officer Black and his family arrived at the rescue facility to finalize the adoption. JetBlue, tail wagging, greeted them as if he already knew where he belonged.

    After Bryson left Germiran at the ticket counter, investigators said, she made her way to her flight’s departure gate. When police confronted her, she explained that the dog had a tracking chip implanted and therefore would find his way back to her.

    At first, police offered to walk Bryson back to the dog and issue her a citation. However, they reported, she became “hostile” when they attempted to detain her, resisting as she was escorted through a security checkpoint.

    She was arrested and booked on three misdemeanor charges, including animal abandonment and resisting a public officer.

    Las Vegas police celebrated JetBlue’s relocation to a home where he’s more wanted.

    “Today, JetBlue’s next journey begins this time, surrounded by the people who stepped in when he needed it the most,” their statement read. “Bon voyage, JetBlue and welcome to a new life where you’ll be loved beyond words by Officer Black and his family.”

    A person of interest wanted for dumping a rotting body in a Brooklyn garbage bin attacked cops and attempted to grab their guns when they came to arrest him Sunday morning.

    According to police sources, cops received a tip that the suspect in the bizarre caper — 38-year-old Christopher Moss — was spotted walking on Beverly Road near Nostrand Avenue in Little Caribbean at around 12:35 a.m. on Oct. 19 when they tried to move in and make an arrest.

    However, sources familiar with the investigation said, Moss allegedly became enraged and headbutted one arresting officer while attempting to reach for another cop’s gun and taser. Police were able to wrestle him to the ground and place him in custody.

    Moss had been wanted for questioning after a decomposing body was discovered at around 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 17 outside of 569 East 21st St. in Flatbush. Originally, published reports indicated the body had been chopped up, but sources said it turned out that the remains, belonging to an unidentified man, had actually become deeply decomposed while folded in the fetal position.

    A report from ABC7 revealed that local residents had recently overheard Moss and his partner allegedly arguing with one another in the days leading up to the grim discovery.

    “As soon as that door opened, that whiff would just smack you in the face. And we would have the door closed but like you’d be on the other side of the apartment from the entrance and you would still smell it. It definitely was the body,” a neighbor told the outlet.

    Police have yet to determine how the man lost his life, and the death is not yet deemed a homicide.

    Moss has thus far been charged with concealment of a human corpse. He was also slapped with assault on a police officer, attempted criminal possession of weapon, resisting arrest, and instructing government administration.

    Additional charges are pending the results of the ongoing investigation.

  • Only on 9: Family of 16-year-old girl demands answers after police encounter in downtown

    The family of a 16-year-old girl is demanding answers from the Orlando Police Department after a video surfaced showing her being tackled by officers and, moments later, another officer appearing to deploy pepper spray during a chaotic downtown scene.

    The incident happened early Monday morning near the corner of Central Boulevard and Orange Avenue.

    Treasure Gray, 16, says she was leaving downtown with her 22-year-old sister when the situation unfolded.

    In a video shared with Channel 9, Gray can be seen being taken to the ground by an officer. “There was a crowd of people because everyone was getting ready to leave,” Treasure told Channel 9. “Next thing I see, I was getting slammed on the floor, me and my sister.”

    Treasure has been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. But she and her family say she never attacked anyone and was confused and scared during the incident. “They sprayed the crowd with mace,” she said. “I started kicking because it was getting in my eyes. That’s when the officer forced himself on my leg.”

    Treasure’s father, Antavious Gray, says his daughters were trying to head home with family after a night out. “It was 3 in the morning, and she’s 16. What was she doing Downtown,” Channel 9’s Geovany Dias asked the father. “They were hanging out with their big sister, sister-in-law and cousin,” he said. “My 22-year-old daughter, who was with them, asked the officers, ‘What are you doing? Why are you doing that to my sisters?’ They told her they didn’t have to explain anything.”

    Another video taken by bystander James Lake shows police shouting at people to get back and clear the roadway.

    In the video, a person appears to comply with the officer’s orders, only to be hit with pepper spray seconds later.

    “We are cooperating,” someone can be heard saying moments before the spray is deployed. Lake, who recorded the video, told Channel 9 he began filming because he was concerned about how the officers were handling the crowd. “I just see the police arresting young people,” he said. “Just wanted to make sure they’re doing their job right.”

    Lake said he ended up in the ER after being sprayed on. “It felt like my flesh was falling off,” he recalled. “Yesterday I couldn’t breathe through either nostril. What if it was his son?”

    Legal Action Underway

    Another bystander, who was also recording the incident, was arrested and charged with obstruction and resisting arrest without violence. He has since been released from jail.

    Both he and James Lake say they are now planning to take legal action against the Orlando Police Department.

    In a statement, Orlando Police told Channel 9 they are aware of the incident and are currently reviewing the matter to determine whether any department policies were violated. We’ve reached out to OPD again for additional comment following our interview with Treasure Gray and her family. We will update this story as soon as we hear back.

    2 teens arrested in Delaware for alleged attempted car theft, resisting arrest

    DOVER, Delaware (WPVI) — Delaware State Police arrested two teenagers in Kent County on Friday after they allegedly attempted to steal a car and then resisted arrest.

    Troopers say a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old from Dover, Delaware, were arrested for multiple felony offenses.

    The incident began just before 11:30 p.m. when troopers responded to a residence on Nobles Pond Crossing in Dover for a report of two suspicious males in all black attempting to break into neighborhood vehicles.

    Upon arrival, troopers discovered a Kia Sorento with a shattered window parked in a driveway along Winding Carriage Lane.

    Investigators found the Kia’s rear window had been shattered and the ignition was ripped out, the same type of damage consistent with the nationwide trend of Kias being stolen using a screwdriver and USB cable.

    While searching the area, a trooper observed two males wearing all black walking in the intersection of Colt Lane and Peacock Place.

    As the trooper attempted to make contact with the males, the two fled down Peacock Place.

    A foot chase ensued, and troopers say the suspects did not comply when they were told to stop.

    One of the suspects, identified as the 13-year-old, eventually complied and was taken into custody without incident.

    A short time later, troopers say the 14-year-old was located running on Station View Drive and was taken into custody without incident.

    Both teens were found to have a screwdriver and USB cable on them, according to authorities.

    The teens were charged with felony attempt to commit theft of a motor vehicle, felony possession of burglar tools, felony conspiracy second-degree, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and tampering with a vehicle.

    Both suspects have since been released into the custody of their parents, officials say.
