Republican Group To Run Blistering Anti-Trump Ad On Fox News During Prime Time

A Republican group opposed to Donald Trump is giving some of the former president’s biggest supporters an unfiltered look at the charges facing him.

While most of the right-wing cable network’s hosts have tried to justify, excuse and downplay the former president’s actions, the new ad bluntly lays out some of the accusations.

“Even his allies and lawyers say it was wrong,” the narrator states:

“No one is above the law ― not even former presidents,” the spot concludes.

The Republican Accountability Project said it was spending nearly $500,000 to run the spot.

“Donald Trump is a unique threat to American democracy and the rule of law,” Sarah Longwell, the group’s executive director, said in a news release. “This latest indictment is just one more reminder of his rampant criminality. He must be held accountable, and we’re sending the message that he is not above the law.”

The Republican Accountability Project has been creating videos ― some running on Fox News ― attacking Trump and his enablers in Congress, especially those who have supported or excused the Jan. 6 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Donald Trump’s love for autocrats is on full display in a new video from his critics on the right.

It’s embellished with hearts… and has some music to set the mood:

Trump has long had starry eyes for dictators and strongmen, and spent much of his presidency cozying up to such leaders ― while at the same time often keeping traditional U.S. allies at arm’s length.

He sided with Putin when questioned about U.S. intelligence that found Russia interfered on his behalf in the 2016 election, and boasted that he got along so well with Kim that they “fell in love.”

On the flipside, he dismissed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as a “far left lunatic” and accused French President Emmanuel Macron of being “very insulting.”

The Republican Accountability Project has been releasing videos, ads and billboards calling out Trump and the GOP lawmakers who enabled his lies about the 2020 election and supported the Jan. 6 insurrection.

A conservative group has highlighted Tucker Carlson’s affinity for spreading Russian propaganda in a new video.

The Republican Accountability Project put Carlson on blast in a new video, showing 96 seconds of the Fox News host “parroting Putin”:

Carlson has repeatedly sided with Russia over his own government, criticizing the U.S. for providing ongoing support to Ukraine and rationalizing Russia’s aggression. His views have taken root with the Republican base and some members of Congress, so much so that during a recent visit with Republicans in Washington to lobby for aid to Ukraine, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was “amazed and horrified by how many people are frightened of a guy called Tucker Carlson.”

The Republican Accountability Project, a never-Trump PAC, targets members of the GOP who undermined democracy by supporting former President Donald Trump, his lies about the 2020 presidential election and the Jan. 6, 2021, attack he incited at the U.S. Capitol.
