NAPA – Authorities released additional details Tuesday following a retail theft at a Lululemon store in Napa that led to a pursuit which ended in Oakland Monday afternoon.

According to the Napa Police Department, officers were alerted about a retail theft that took place at the store on First Street around 4 p.m. An officer spotted the suspects in a vehicle, but the driver did not stop and led authorities in a pursuit.

Police from Napa and American Canyon pursued the suspects to the Carquinez Bridge, at which point the California Highway Patrol took over.

According to the CHP, when the suspect vehicle was on I-80 near Carlson in Richmond, ground units backed off on the pursuit and let the CHP airplane continue tracking the car.

Authorities were conducting a raid inside a multi-million dollar home belonging to rapper and record producer Sean “Diddy” Combs in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of West LA Monday afternoon.

Homeland Security Investigations executed search warrants at the LA mansion as well as a Miami property belonging to Combs, sources told NBC news.

The raid may be linked to a possible sex traffic investigation, another source familiar with the matter told NBC News. The source added three Jane Does and one John Doe have been interviewed by the Southern District of New York in relation to sex trafficking, sexual assault, the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms related Combs.

The source also said another three Jane Does have interviews scheduled.

Newschopper4 was overhead as officials with protective gear and weapons were surrounding the property. Some of them were wearing jackets that noted they were from Homeland Security Investigations.

Aerial image from NBC Miami showed federal authorities were surrounding Combs’ Florida property at the same time as the raid in Holmby Hills.

Video from Miami Los Angeles also showed federal authorities were present at the Florida property at the same time as authorities were raiding the LA mansion.

“Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners,” the Homeland Security confirmed the raid in a statement.

Combs is facing a lawsuit by a woman, who accused Combs and two other men of raping her 20 years ago in a New York City recording studio when she was 17.

The woman, whose name wasn’t disclosed in the court filing, is the fourth person to file a lawsuit accusing Combs of sexual assault.

In the lawsuit, the woman said she was in 11th grade at a high school in a Detroit suburb in 2003, when she met Harve Pierre, then the president of Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment record label, at a lounge.

She said Pierre flew her to New York on a private jet and took her to a recording studio, where she was given drugs and alcohol until she was incapable of consenting to sex. Then, the lawsuit said, Pierre, Combs and a man she didn’t know took turns raping her.

The lawsuit included photographs of the woman sitting on Combs’ lap that she said were taken on the night in question at the Daddy’s House Recording Studio.

    Combs, 54, denied the allegations.

“For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” Combs said in a statement. “Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”

Uninvolved driver killed when high-speed pursuit ends in violent crash in South L.A.

    [ad_1]

A burglary suspect being chased by law enforcement crashed into two vehicles in South Los Angeles early Wednesday, killing one of the innocent drivers.

The pursuit started around 1:30 a.m. after the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a burglary call in Rancho Palos Verdes, the department said in a news release.

Deputies saw at least four suspects get into a white Lexus and a black Porsche, authorities told KTTV Channel 11. Deputies chased them onto the 110 Freeway, where the suspects drove with their headlights off.

The Porsche exited the freeway during the pursuit, and deputies continued to chase the Lexus. Deputies called off their car pursuit because of excessive speeds but followed from the air and notified the California Highway Patrol, which picked up the chase on the freeway, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The CHP did not immediately respond to requests for comment from The Times.

Not long after, the Lexus crashed into two other vehicles near the intersection of Imperial Highway and Olive Street in Broadway-Manchester, the Los Angeles Police Department said. Around 2:20 a.m., firefighters responded to reports of one person ejected from their vehicle in the crash and another person trapped in their car.

A driver not involved in the pursuit was killed in the collision, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Brian Humphrey, and three ambulances took patients to hospitals. There was no immediate information about their ages or genders.

Three people in the Lexus were taken into custody and also treated for their injuries, according to news reports.

Officers assigned to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Newton Division were on patrol about 5 a.m. when they said they spotted someone throw a gun out of the window of a green minivan near Central Avenue and the 10 Freeway, according to Officer Norma Eisenman, a police spokesperson. Officers then initiated a pursuit, she said.

The pursuit ended one to two minutes later at the intersection of 17th and Main streets when the minivan crashed into the bus, she said.

Man arrested for taking joy ride from Bel Air to Baltimore in allegedly stolen military vehicle

Man arrested for taking joy ride from Bel Air to Baltimore in allegedly stolen military vehicle

A man stole a military vehicle from a residential neighborhood in a Maryland town Friday night, and then led officers on a lengthy highway pursuit before finally being captured in Baltimore, authorities said.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies were called to a home in the town of Bel Air a little after 6:30 p.m. local time Friday on a report that a privately-owned 1986 923-A five-ton military vehicle had been stolen.

The truck was then spotted on a Bel Air road, and when the driver, later identified as 38-year-old Michael D. Stevens II, refused to pull over, a multi-agency pursuit ensued, the sheriff’s office said, with the suspect making his way south onto Interstate-95.

Officers made several unsuccessful attempts to stop the vehicle using spike strips, the sheriff’s office said, before the suspect eventually made his way into Baltimore, which is located about 25 miles southwest of Bel Air.

He finally brought the vehicle stop and tried to run away, but was captured by deputies, the sheriff’s office disclosed.

During the pursuit, Stevens crashed into several other vehicles, but no one was injured during the ordeal, the sheriff’s office said.

Stevens had been released from the Hartford County Detention Center just prior to stealing the vehicle, the sheriff’s office confirmed. He was re-booked into the detention center on one count of motor vehicle theft, and two counts each of first-degree and second-degree assault, along with one count of failing to obey a lawful order.

The details of his initial arrest and release were unclear. There was also no word on the circumstances that led up to the theft of the vehicle.

Maryland State Police, Baltimore police, Baltimore County police and Bel Air police all assisted during the incident.
