  • Boulder rallies for “No Kings” at city’s bandshell, speaking out against Trump administration

BOULDER, Colo. — Activists of all ages gathered in Boulder Saturday afternoon, just one of the dozens of “No Kings” rallies across Colorado, voicing opposition to the Trump administration and its policies.

The Boulder demonstration began with a rally at the Glen Huntington Bandshell before moving to sidewalks along Broadway Street in downtown Boulder.

Protesters addressed issues ranging from budget cuts to the government shutdown, calling for political change.

“I think this is what’s going to make a difference in this country, is people coming out and making their wishes known,” said Francie Noyes, a Boulder resident who attended the rally.

Noyes said she expected Boulder to draw a large crowd for the event. Organizers estimated around 6,000 attended throughout the afternoon.

“This is so important. This is people standing up for the Constitution, due process, equal protection, women’s rights,” Noyes said.

At the intersection of Broadway St. and Canyon Ave. in the city’s center, protesters made their voices heard through chants and signs with a visibility honk and wave.

Organizer Christine Cowles and her team spent months preparing for the event, putting up signs and chalking sidewalks to spread awareness.

“We’ve really tried to get out to the people who may never see it,” Cowles said.

Republicans have criticized these protests, with House Speaker Mike Johnson sharing his perspective during a Friday news conference.

“We refer to it more as the ‘Hate America’ rally,” Johnson said. “And I’m not sure how anyone else can refute that.”

Despite the criticism, Cowles hopes the Boulder rally marks the beginning of sustained political activism.

“What we want every single person who’s here to do afterwards is to keep being active,” Cowles said.

  • Pulse memorial Protestors have a stop the violence rally following Saturday’s assault

Protestors were back out at the Pulse Memorial Sunday afternoon for a stop the violence rally. This comes a day after a protester said they were assaulted by someone on Saturday afternoon.

Orlando police are investigating the alleged assault.

The victim is Zane Aparicio, who goes by Cait. Cait and a few others protested the state’s decision to paint over the rainbow crosswalk in front of the memorial.

They told police a man and a female passenger pulled up in a Tesla. The man got out and went for the flags.

“He marched, with purpose, to the corner and grabbed the Trans flag and the Pride flag out of where we had them posted up and threw them into oncoming traffic,” said witness Andrew Daniel.

Cait and Daniel said they both ran over to get the flags. Cait admitted to chasing after the man in the Tesla to stop him from leaving.

Cait and Daniel said the man had been driving by the area since Wednesday. They said the man kept cursing and shouting at the protestors.

Cait said the man would shout things like “we should die. We’re violent.”

Cait and the other protestors said they took those as threats.

“That’s exactly why I was trying to stop him and called the cops,” Cait said. “It’d be easier to let him walk away and not have the cops go after him. But, in the end, what’s stopping him from coming back tomorrow, Monday night, or Tuesday night to escalate further?”

The protestors at Sunday’s rally said they are tired of being mistreated for just wanting to live their lives and honor the victims of the 2016 mass shooting.

What happened yesterday was tragic,” said Melody Short.

Short is one of the three protestors arrested a few weeks ago for chalking in the crosswalk. Melody said the way they’re being treated is heartbreaking.

“It’s exhausting because even in the army, I had to fight for my rights just to be me. I come home just to get thrown to the curb because I’m a queer veteran,” Melody said. “It’s disgusting.”

The protestors say the hate is not going to stop them from speaking up. Cait is planning to press charges when or if the man they say attacked them is found and arrested. protester

  • This You? Donald Trump Trashes Tim Walz For George Floyd Protests After Praising MN Governor’s Response In Leaked 2020 Audio

This You? Donald Trump Trashes Tim Walz For George Floyd Protests After Praising MN Governor’s Response In Leaked 2020 Audio

More of Donald Trump‘s “flip-flopping” went viral after he bashed Kamala Harris‘ running mate, Tim Walz, for the same thing he previously supported on tape and claimed credit for. The current “hateration” in question: Trump backtracking about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s handling of the unrest that followed George Floyd’s murder in 2020.

Source: Michael Ciaglo/Andrew Harnik / Getty

However, recently resurfaced audio recordings reveal that Trump’s current criticism is more misinformation from the “fake news” felon himself. CNN previously reported a full transcript of the detailed call between Trump and US governors

Trump’s 2020 Praise Of Walz: A Conveniently Forgotten History

Trump and his campaign have recently claimed that Walz “let Minneapolis burn.” Let’s rewind to June 1, 2020, when protests erupted across the country following the harrowing death of George Floyd, a Black man whose life was brutally taken by then-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin. Amidst the nationwide uproar, Minneapolis became ground zero for protests, some of which turned violent as the city grappled with deep-seated anger and grief.

Listen to the audio here where Trump praises Walz:

During this time, Donald Trump was quick to praise Governor Walz for his handling of the protests. According to AP News, a phone call that included top officials like Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Attorney General William Barr, Trump told Walz, “What they did in Minneapolis was incredible. They went in and dominated, and it happened immediately.”

    Yes, you read that right.

Trump, who now claims that Walz “let rioters burn Minneapolis,” was singing an entirely different tune back when the heat was on. Newsone states that Trump even went so far as to call Walz “an excellent guy” during that call.

Fast forward to the 2024 presidential campaign, and Trump, along with his running mate JD Vance, is suddenly criticizing Walz for supposedly allowing Minneapolis to burn during the protests. But here’s the kicker: that same audio recording, which Trump and the GOP are conveniently ignoring, directly contradicts these claims.

AP News received a statement from Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, who is trying to spin the narrative.

“Governor Walz allowed Minneapolis to burn for days, despite President Trump’s offer to deploy soldiers and cries for help from the liberal Mayor of Minneapolis,” said Leavitt.

However, according to the phone call,  Trump was praising Walz for deploying the National Guard. Trump himself claimed credit for in a 2024 fundraiser, despite the fact that it was Walz who gave the official order.

This attempt to rewrite history isn’t just disingenuous; it’s a blatant attempt to mislead voters as Trump and his team scramble to discredit Walz, who has been tapped as Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate in the 2024 election.

The GOP’s current claims are nothing more than desperate attempts at damage control. What a PR mess.

Republicans like House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and House GOP Chair Elise Stefanik have also jumped on the bandwagon.

Newsone reports that Trump’s VP, JD Vance, ever eager to play the race card, questioned whether Black business leaders in Minneapolis were grateful that Walz supposedly allowed their businesses to burn.

But again, the receipts—aka that 2020 audio—tell a different story.

Truth Is Out, But Will It Matter?

So, what’s the takeaway from all this? Simply put, Trump’s attempt to backtrack on his OWN recorded words is just another case of political opportunism. But thanks to modern technology and a few vigilant social media users, the truth is out there for anyone willing to see it.

As the 2024 election heats up, it’s CONTINUOSLY proven that clearly the GOP is willing to bend, twist, and outright break the truth to suit their narrative. But the truth has a way of coming to light—whether they like it or not.

For Trump and his team, the message is clear: You can’t rewrite history when the receipts are only a click away.

Records expunged for St. Louis couple who waved guns at protesters. They want their guns back

Records expunged for St. Louis couple who waved guns at protesters. They want their guns back

Evening, America, we’re Mark and Patty McCloskey were speaking to you tonight from ST Louis, Missouri, where just weeks ago you may have seen us defending our home as a mob of protesters descended on our neighborhood. America is such a great country that not only do you have the right to own a gun and use it to defend yourself, but thousands of Americans will offer you free advice on how to use it. At least that’s what we experienced. What you saw happen to us could just as easily happen to any of you who are watching from quiet neighborhoods around our country. And that’s what we want to speak to you about tonight. That’s exactly right. Whether it’s the de funding of police ending cash bail so criminals can be released back out on the streets the same day to riot again were encouraging anarchy and chaos on our streets. It seems as if the Democrats no longer view that governments job as protecting honest citizens from criminals, but rather protecting criminals from honest citizens, not a single person in the out of control mob. You saw our house was charged with a crime. But you know who waas we were. They’ve actually charged us with felonies for daring to defend our home. On top of that, consider this. The Marxist liberal activist leading the mob toe our neighborhood, stood outside our home with a bullhorn, screaming, You can’t stop the revolution! Just weeks later, that same Marxist activist one the Democrat nomination toe hold a seat in the U. S. House of Representatives in the city of ST Louis. That’s the same is winning the general election. That Marxist revolutionary is now going to be the congresswoman from the first District of Missouri. These radicals air not content with marching in the streets. They want to walk the halls of Congress. They want to take over. They want power. This is Joe Biden’s party. These are the people who will be in charge of your future and the future of your Children. They’re not satisfied with spreading the chaos and violence into our communities. They want to abolish the suburbs altogether by ending single family homes. Owning this forced rezoning would bring crime, lawlessness and low quality apartments into now thriving suburban neighborhoods. President Trump smartly ended this government overreach, but Joe Biden wants to bring it back. These are the policies that are coming to a neighborhood near you. So make no mistake, no matter where you live, your family will not be safe in the radical Democrats. America at this moment in history, if you stand up for yourself and for the values our country was founded on, the mob, spurred on by their allies in the media, will try to destroy you. You’ve seen us on your TV screens and Twitter feeds. You know that we’re not the kind of people who back down. Thankfully, neither is Donald Trump. President Trump will defend the God given right of every American to protect their homes and their families. But more than that, Trump’s vision for America is a country. We have an opportunity to work hard and build the life you dream of with a job you love with your Children being educated in great schools in a community where your family can play in the backyard without fear, worship in a church without shame and express your beliefs without retribution. Trump brought us the greatest economy our country had ever seen. The Democrats have brought us nothing but destruction when we don’t have basic safety and security in our communities will never be free to build a brighter future for ourselves, for our Children or for our country. That’s what’s at stake in this election. And that’s why we must re elect Donald Trump. God bless you. God bless the president and God bless these United States.

COLLEGE POINT, Queens (WABC) — Pro-Palestinian protesters swarmed the New York Times printing facility in Queens, one of the largest facilities in the nation.

Some popular newspapers will likely be delivered on a delay Thursday morning due to the commotion at the facility.

Police say that at around 1 a.m. Thursday, protestors prevented tucks from accessing the 300,000-square-foot building by blocking the roads with debris.

Many laid down in a chain, connecting to each other with tubes. They held signs that read, “Stop the presses. Free Palestine” and “Consent for genocide is manufactured here.”

This facility is responsible for printing the New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, Newsday, and the New York Post. There are 27 printing facilities across the country.

Law enforcement was called to clear the protesters. No arrests were made.

The trucks eventually gained access to the building.
