  • Hangry Brands Takes STEAK Concept Out to the Ballgame

    [ad_1]

Since opening in Tremont a year and a half ago, STEAK (2179 W. 11th St.) has been riding a wave of success. The all-inclusive format coupled with an edgy, experiential atmosphere has proved to be an antidote to sluggish restaurant sales.

Now, STEAK will be heading to Progressive Field, a move that runs counter not only to common sense but also common practice. Steakhouses are a rarity in ballpark concessions for a number of reasons, not the least of which is transforming the food into an affordable, moveable feast.

“It starts with taking a steakhouse experience and building a menu that is ballpark friendly, and can easily be eaten in your seat. All while keeping the cost approachable and the quality at STEAK’s award-winning level,” says Tylor Mettler, General Manager at Progressive Field for Delaware North Companies.

The STEAK stand will be located in Section 164, in the former home of Throwing Smoke BBQ. The signature menu item will be the STEAK Pops, lollipop-shaped Certified Angus Beef-brand prime filet that is skewered, broiled and brushed with tallow butter. The Pops can be ordered individually or in a set of three with Gus’ Cowboy Butter.

Also available will be the steakhouse’s popular Beef Tallow Buttered Popcorn and signature corndog-style Carnival Crab Cakes, but here as a baseball bat-shaped skewer.

Down the road, STEAK hopes to add a special steak sandwich to the offerings.

“The STEAK selections here at Progressive Field will be a fun and delicious experience, just like our flagship restaurant in Tremont,” says Hangry Brands president Chelsea Williams. “Taking our hits that our guests love and making them ballpark ready is going to be next level fun.”
