I’m struggling to find any drawbacks of this denim jacket because it’s exactly what I hoped for and more. The fit is cropped, comfortable, and versatile. I ordered my usual size medium and it runs perfectly true to size. The crop length is just right, hitting directly at mid-hip, in line with my belly button. It’s not an extreme statement crop nor a typical length jacket, making it ideal for those looking for one that’s only subtly shorter than most. In my opinion, it’s best styled baring a hint of skin with a mid-rise skirt, like the one I’m wearing here, or teamed with high-rise bottoms to visually elongate your legs.

So, one work week later, here I am, impressed by how the Alpha held up, but also wishing I were a novelist, since this device would so clearly suit that calling.
Writing Reformed
The Alpha is a simple plastic slab, with a small kickstand on the back that can’t be adjusted, and a mechanical keyboard on the front. It has a red power button, a few function keys on that keyboard, and a four-line LCD display.
It’s a word processor in the old-school 1980s sense of the word, capable of storing a large stash of drafts and syncing them over Wi-Fi when you’re connected.

Moving between those drafts, changing your settings, and signing in and out can be a fiddly annoyance due to the lack of a touch interface or trackpad, but most people would find themselves doing that far more rarely than me, because, again, most people wouldn’t write eight news stories on it in a day.

As someone with an hourglass shape, I’m always weary of purchasing nonstretch denim pieces — the combination of wide hips and a smaller waist usually requires bottoms with a little extra wiggle room and stretch. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the comfortability provided by these Free People denim shorts, which are made from a 100 percent cotton material. Despite their nonstretch design, the shorts are breathable and easy to move around, with a waist-hugging fit that accentuates my curves and cultivates a more tailored look.
The might-wash coloring is a bit easier to style than traditional dark-wash denim, giving me the freedom to dress them up or down accordingly; during the day I can throw them on with a cropped white T-shirt, striped button-down top, and everyday sneakers for something sporty and fun. Ever since I received them, they’ve had me in an absolute chokehold, and for good reason. The quality is perfection, they’re comfortable, and they can be styled with virtually anything in my closet.
They’re one part moto boot, one part cowboy boot, and all around great for dancing, walking, and just general frolicking, which I am going to find myself doing a lot of in the coming months.

What I Like About the Jeffrey Campbell x Free People x Understated Leather Motoboy Boots
First and foremost, the number one thing I noticed about these boots when I took them out of their box was the quality. They’re made of thick, heavy leather, and I could feel how well-constructed they are as soon as I touched them. However, although they’re sturdy, they aren’t uncomfortable to walk in. I’ve found that most boots take a breaking-in period, but I didn’t have that problem with these. So far, I’ve worn them out to dinner, to a concert, and to an outdoor picnic, all with zero issues. I’ve done quite a bit of walking in them, and I haven’t had to deal with blisters or chafing (although I should note that I make sure to wear a pair of thick socks with them).
The design is also utter perfection. They’re essentially a motorcycle boot with Western-inspired stitching, which makes them an easy grab when I’m heading out of the house, no matter what I’m wearing. Plus, the harness on the shoes is removable, so if you want to opt for a more pared-down look, you can do that as well. The design is unique enough that I get tons of “where did you get those?” questions whenever I’m out and about, but it’s also simple enough to be a staple shoe in my closet.
I haven’t yet had a chance to wear them to a festival, but I already know they’re going to be my go-to shoe for any occasion where I need to walk a lot and still look fashionable at the same time.

I was a little stressed when it came to sizing, because I didn’t try on the shoes in person, but I went with my typical size 8. The boot fits well, even with a thick sock, but I probably could have sized up half a size for a little more room. Boots are often a hit or miss for me because of the size of my legs, but I still had extra room around my 14.5-inch calves once I slipped these on.

Spring in Los Angeles can be unpredictable, to say the least. We can go from gorgeous 75-and-sunny days to “May gray” within a few hours. First up: the sweatshirt. Of course, the big draw of this set is the waffle texture, which makes the top feel more in line with a menswear-inspired henley (a big yes for me). I’m 5’5″ and 120 pounds, and I usually wear a size 2 or size small, so I was slightly surprised that the small in the pants were basically falling off me. If you’re super petite, even the extra-smalls might be too oversized for your waist.
The next thing to consider is the length of the pants: They’re definitely on the long side. The 5’10” model on the site is probably the ideal height for these pants if you want them not to be bunched on the bottom. I’m 5 inches shorter than her, so the pants are quite slouchy at my ankles. I don’t mind the oversized look, but the pants may require an alteration if you’re 5’4″ and under.

The product claims to provide a safe space in the virtual realm for young people to improve their mental health and gain real-life benefits through an immersive experience.
But why do young people need Headspace XR? Well, to tackle loneliness. According to a recent NHS study, more than one in five people in England (22 percent) reported feeling lonely at least some of the time. Similarly, a study conducted by Gallup and Meta, revealed that younger generations (age 19-29) feel loneliness more acutely, with 27 percent reporting they feel very or fairly lonely.
Mental health issues are on the rise too. NHS England found that one in five children and young people in England aged eight to 25 had a probable mental disorder in 2023. So, with this information on hand, Headspace are bringing mental health support to where young people are headed – into the world of VR – and have packed mood-boosting games, one-on-one guided meditations, and techniques into Headspace XR, a mindfulness virtual and mixed reality experience, which launched March 6.
Before trying it out for myself, I was keen to find out whether a virtual reality experience can actually make me happy, or if it was just a form of escapism, and honestly, I’m struggling to put into words how incredible this experience was.

How I Tested Headspace XR
I headed to Meta Studios to try out Headspace XR for myself, and after putting on my headset, I was loaded into the virtual playground. I learned the basics of movement in VR and was then able to select my mood – happy, angry, anxious, lonely, sad, or bored – at the Moodstream, in order to tailor my experience. After selecting ‘happy’, I was transported to the Energy Dome to play Power Up, a fun yet simple activity where Headspace meditation teacher, Dora, guided my movement of energy particles to increase my focus and creativity through the use of visuals and sounds.
Then, in multiplayer mode – which is invite-only for you and your friends for safety – we headed to The Hideout and practised breathing exercises in The Boxy Treehouse and then to the pink playground and to try out the paint wall, where you grab blocks and catapult them to a wall to reveal a hidden mindful message with the help of your friends.
The experience is unlike any other. You’re able to fully immerse yourself into the make-believe world of Headspace, a colourful, dream-like landscape with realistic blue skies and gorgeous sunsets.
The Boxy Treehouse was my favourite. I was isolated in an orange room, decorated with tropical plants, facing a huge opening, looking out to the virtual sunset as Headspace meditation teacher, Kessonga, guided my breathing using the box technique. I’ve used this breathwork exercise before, but there was something so pleasing about having visuals and sounds to guide me, and I found that this increased how effective it was – I felt instantly calm.
After coming out of the experience, it was like I had just returned to a dreary London office after being on holiday. If you don’t have a safe, calming space you can go to zone into some me-time, Headspace XR is ideal, just strap on your headset, plug in your headphones and take a moment.
You’ll need the Meta Quest 2 (£250) or above for the app’s mixed reality feature alongside the full VR experience. And for the multiplayer experience, your friends will need to have the Meta Quest headset and the Headspace XR app, which is a one-off price of £23.
Arguably, the Meta Quest is a games console that could be a worthwhile investment and if you compare it to the Nintendo Switch or the Playstation 5, it falls comfortably into the same price range. But if you bought it alongside Headspace XR and solely for that, it begs the question, is there a price on peace of mind?
Looking back on the experience, while you can’t really count on British weather to cheer you up and the landscape in Headspace XR-land was beautiful, I still think it’s hard to beat going outside, taking yourself on a walk and listening to a calming podcast, or logging onto the Headspace mobile app for guided meditation, which could be an affordable and more accessible option for many.

Similarly to most of my product buys these days, TikTok introduced and ultimately influenced me to purchase the Dual Pouch Wristlet. For months, I’ve seen users tout the accessory in videos and Instagram reels, all showing off the different ways that they use the pouch in their day-to-day lives. Some rave that it’s their go-to gym accessory because it holds their keys, Apple AirPods, and credit cards, all in one convenient place. Others swear it’s the perfect bag alternative for travel because it eliminates the fear of pickpocketing thanks to its handheld design.
What I Like About the Lululemon Dual Pouch Wristlet
For me, the wristlet’s customizable design is a huge part of its appeal. Both of the pouches are detachable from the product’s main hook, meaning you can add or remove them as you like. I can also attach other items to the main hook, like my car keys or mace, so it’s a great modular accessory for those who prefer something that they can easily make their own. The wristlet is also made from a 100 percent recycled nylon material that’s sleek to the touch and relatively easy to keep clean; per the brand, you can simply spot clean it to remove any stains or dirt.
Despite its compact design, the pouches can also hold quite a bit — including several credit cards, cash, a small lipstick, and anything else you’d like to keep handy. The actual wristlet is pretty open and stretchy, so you can comfortably wear it around your wrist without fear of skin irritation. And with a wide variety of tones and colorways, there are so many fun options to shop that feel totally unique to the traditional cardholder or wallet.

What’s Worth Noting
My biggest qualm with this accessory is the lack of cardholder slots on the inside of the pouch. Prior to purchasing one of my own, I’d always assumed that the accessory would at least have one or two slots to keep items like credit cards or my driver’s license secure, similar to the design of a traditional cardholder. While this doesn’t affect the security of the piece — I still feel comfortable carrying around the accessory with items that I’d normally store in my wallet — I do think that having an extra interior slot or compartment would make all the difference in keeping items separated and thus easier to pull out whenever needed.
Reviewers on Lululemon’s site also noted that the light-colored variations tend to dirty faster than dark-colored ones, while others noted that the accessory’s material frayed sooner than they expected. One reviewer wrote: “Fabric frayed and hardware tarnished within first few months.” I’ve had my pouch for a little less than a month and haven’t noticed any significant wear and tear yet, but it’s certainly something to be mindful of, given this product’s higher price tag. Because several reviews cited issues with discoloration on shades like the white opal and flush pink colorway, I also chose to order mine in the classic black and traverse gray tones. If you want to avoid dirtying your bag too quickly, I recommend opting for one of the darker shades.
