  • Kate Middleton and Prince William Moving To Windsor Great Park

    [ad_1]

Three years after Kate Middleton and Prince William swapped their Kensington Palace residence for a main home on the Windsor Home Park estate, the family is moving again. Along with children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the Prince and Princess of Wales will soon leave their current abode of Adelaide Cottage for the nearby Forest Lodge, located in the Windsor Great Park.

The couple moved to Adelaide Cottage in 2022, motivated by a desire to escape the spotlight of Kensington Palace and to be closer to Queen Elizabeth’s Windsor Castle home.

“William and Kate have been talking to their close friends about leaving Kensington Palace, where they feel very overlooked,” a source told Vanity Fair nearly a year before the couple’s move. “It will remain their official London base, but they prefer being in the countryside and the commute to London would be very easy.”

While the four-bedroom cottage the couple settled on reportedly wasn’t their dream home, it appeared to be the best option at the time. “Finding a way to make Adelaide Cottage work seems to be the best and only option,” a source said at the time of their move. “There are issues with all the other houses, so Adelaide will be the favorite.”

But soon after the family started to unpack, things changed again. Queen Elizabeth died, just as Kate Middleton and Prince William landed in the dwelling. “It was not exactly the settling-in period they had hoped for,” a source said of that period in the Waleses’ lives.

Instead, that move preceded a few years of unexpected struggle. After the obligations of the Queen’s funeral, the young family was thrust into preparations for the coronation of King Charles III. Less than a year later, the king went public with his diagnosis of cancer, while unbeknownst to the world until a bombshell announcement in March 2024, Kate Middleton was also undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of the disease.

Middleton announced that she was officially in remission earlier this year, while the king’s treatments are reportedly ongoing, both factors that likely impacted the Walses’ latest decision to move. (Less of a factor, it seems, is a recent security breach near their current home, nor a similar incursion the year before.)

Their home-to-be, the 328-year-old Forest Lodge, is currently undergoing minor renovations, the Independent reports, noting that “the royal couple are understood to be paying for the move and renovations themselves, avoiding any extra cost to the taxpayer.” According to planning applications filed in June with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, changes to the eight-bedroom structure include “new doors and windows, stripping out internal walls, renovated ceilings and new floors.”

The residence, which the king owns as part of the Crown Estate, was last renovated in 2001, records show, after which it was available to rent for £15,000 per month. The family plans to move into their new home in the near future, a Kensington Palace spokesperson confirms, saying “The Wales family will move house later this year.”

  • Kate Middleton Makes Surprise Appearance in Scotland

Kate Middleton Makes Surprise Appearance in Scotland

    [ad_1]

Did Kate Middleton just weigh in on the debate on when summer actually ends? The royal, who went on “summer break” after her show-stopping appearance at Wimbledon in July, stepped back into view Sunday. Along with husband Prince William, eldest son Prince George, and father-in-law King Charles III, Princess Kate attended a church service in Scotland today, her first day out with the family since her Trooping the Colour turn in June.

King Charles and Queen Camilla traditionally spend their summers in the Scottish Highlands, the Telegraph notes, as Balmoral Castle was one of Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite homes. This year, the Waleses made plans to join them, marking Kate Middleton’s longest trip away from the family’s Adelaide Cottage home since a planned surgery in January led to the diagnosis of an undisclosed cancer. She’s been in treatment for the disease since.

The Princess was spotted this morning as she headed to Crathie Kirk, the Balmoral-adjacent parish church known as the royal family’s place of worship when they’re in town. Clad in a camel coat and feathered hat, she was seated in a Land Rover passenger seat, with William at the wheel. Their son, George, sat in back. According to photos taken at the scene, Camilla and a kilt-clad Charles—who was also treated for cancer this year—arrived at church in a second vehicle, both stepping out of the back seat.

They were joined by the king’s brother, Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, also attended church with the family today.

The church outing wasn’t a choreographed public event along the lines of Wimbledon or Trooping the Colour, free of posed photos or a receiving line. But that’s what might make Middleton’s presence the most notable. “I am making good progress,” she announced in June, “but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.”

“On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well.” That she is doing well enough to expend some of her energy on a quiet, family event like a Sunday trip to church suggests that her progress is continuing, and the things are indeed looking up.

  • Prince William is One of Those Scooter People Now

Prince William is One of Those Scooter People Now

    [ad_1]

Once the stuff of Silicon Valley dreams and urban nightmares, the conversation around electric scooters feels like a vestige of a bygone era. Given that, the sight of Prince William on one of the reviled devices might feel oddly fitting—or just about right, given the overall kookiness of 2024.

Back in the far simpler times of 2018, electric scooters were known for ruining San Francisco (this is before everything else ruined San Francisco—relax, I live there and am therefore entitled to a little self-mockery) and making some fairly obnoxious-seeming people at least temporarily quite rich.

The jaw-droppingly funded market has since collapsed, with many companies booted from the stock market, bankrupt, or worse. These days, you can still find the devices for rent in tourist-heavy cities and holiday destinations in the U.S. and elsewhere, and occasionally you’ll pass a privately owned one on the road—that is, if you’re in a city that hasn’t banned them from the streets.

In London, for example, the only electric scooters allowed on city streets are owned by rental companies participating in a tightly regulated trial. “It is still illegal to use privately-owned e-scooters or other powered transporters on public roads,” officials say.

All bets are off when the roads you’re scooting on are ones that you and your family own, however. So when Prince William was spotted by a social media user as he zoomed around the grounds of Windsor Castle, you needn’t worry that he was breaking the law: according to regional transit officials, the scooters—which as of late 2023 had “seriously injured” 22 people, per the BBC—are use at your own risk if ridden with a landowner’s permission, as William presumably has.

According to a report in the Sun from last year, William purchased the scooter in 2023 in an effort to make the 10-minute trip from Adelaide Cottage (where William lives with wife Kate Middleton and children Prince Louis, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte) to Windsor Castle less of a trek. The scooter, which reportedly can hit 10 miles per hour, “just makes sense,” an unnamed source told the Sun. “He whizzes up to the castle” when he needs to see his father, King Charles III.

“It’s a two or three-mile round trip from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle, so it’s easier by scooter than car or walking,” the source reportedly said.

It’s unclear when the William on a scooter video was taken, and it’s equally unknown what make and model of scooter the prince has. What we do know is that Middleton likely prefers a scooter over his previous mode of solo travel, a high-powered motorcycle.

In 2015, the princess told well-wishers that “it always fills me with horror when” William would hop on his beloved bike. “I’m terrified,” she said of his easy-riding habit. Given Middleton’s challenging year, trading a hog for a scooter seems like a kind concession, regardless of the device’s brand or its past role as a hot-button issue.

  • Prince George’s surprise appearance with Prince William leaves royal fans saying the same thing

Prince George’s surprise appearance with Prince William leaves royal fans saying the same thing

    [ad_1]

Prince George delighted royal fans when he made an unexpected appearance alongside his father, the Prince of Wales, at the FA Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday.

The young royal’s appearance was a welcome surprise for royal fans amid the Princess of Wales’ extended period out of the spotlight as she continues her chemotherapy treatment for cancer.

There’s no denying Prince George, 10, was the image of his father as he watched the Manchester City v Man United game

Dressed in a smart navy suit, a crisp white shirt and a navy tie adorned with pastel pink candy stripes, the royal couldn’t have looked more similar to his father who wore a near-identical outfit.

The only difference in Prince William’s attire was the addition of another stripe on his tie. Like father, like son!

Prince William enjoyed the football with Prince George

The royal duo’s outfits were the only thing that caught the attention of royal fans, however. Many noticed the near identical similarities between Prince William and his son’s mannerisms.

“The way they’re both standing the exact same way!” noted a fan on X, formerly Twitter. “Aww Prince George definitely is his dad’s mini me,” commented another.

In a sweet moment, Prince George did well to remain composed despite his excitement as Jack Grealish shook his hand at the end of the game. The young royal couldn’t help but grin sweetly and look up at his dad after the encounter.

“George is handsome and confident. Love his smile, just like his father!” wrote another royal fan on X.

At just 10, it’s clear to see Prince George has inherited his mother and father’s confidence. The royal could be seen exchanging a few words with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as he walked past after the match.

He also spoke briefly with former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson following the full-time whistle.

Prince George’s confidence at age 10

It’s not the first time Prince George’s confidence and “maturity” has been noticed by royal fans.

In 2022, after the funeral of his late great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, Jo Frost, AKA Supernanny weighed in on the future king’s impeccable behaviour

“You did yourselves proud, your poise and grace was outstanding, we cried when you did and we stood in silence and awe as we honoured with respect Her Majesty, your late great-grandmother,” she addressed the royal in an Instagram post.

“They did amazing for the situation, length of time and their ages. Their Gan Gan would be proud of them.”

Kate Middleton and Her Kids Spend Evening Volunteering to Help Other Children

    [ad_1]

Time and time again, Kate Middleton and Prince William have stressed how important it is to them to give their kids as normal a childhood as possible, despite their unique stations in life as the second, third, and fourth in line for the throne. The Princess of Wales took her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis along with her in November to spend an evening volunteering at a baby bank in Maidenhead, Berkshire, not far from the family’s residence in Windsor.

The group engaged in the time-honored tradition of giving back to the community during the holiday season, packing pajamas for children whose lives have been impacted by poverty, as well as assembling holiday gift bags for the families helped by the baby bank.

In a video released by Kensington Palace, Kate, George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5, unload boxes of clothing from their car and bring them into the group’s building during the under the radar visit.

“Here there’s lots of people who give up their time and there’s lots of volunteers who help out, and so you’re the volunteers for this evening,” Kate tells her children. The Wales children also got to choose toys to pack into gift bags for kids their age, with Louis delighting in a large King Kong action figure and exclaiming, “This is a big guy!”

Charlotte, too, looked excited as she held up a onesie decorated with the Welsh flag and declared, “this is Welsh.”

Kate’s signature social issue as a royal has been the importance of early childhood. Many of her public engagements revolve around her Shaping Us initiative, and last week, during the taping of her annual carol concert, Together at Christmas, she invited home health workers and preschool teachers, among other early childhood professionals, to be in the audience as a thank you for their work.

  • Kate Middleton and Prince William's Holiday Card Evokes 1990s-Era Gap Ad

Kate Middleton and Prince William's Holiday Card Evokes 1990s-Era Gap Ad

    [ad_1]

“A White Shirt, Jeans, and Black Flats Is Summer’s Most-Wanted Look,” Vogue declared a few months ago, but it looks like that sensation didn’t end just because the season did. A new photo of one of the world’s most-watched families shows them embracing the classic trend, in a scene that seems straight out of a 1990s fashion spread.

Prince William and Kate Middleton released the photo via social media Saturday night, the family’s Christmas card for 2023. In the black-and-white shot, the 41-year-old couple poses with children Prince George (age 10), Princess Charlotte (age eight), and Prince Louis (age five).

The photo, by fashion photographer Josh Sinner, was taken earlier this year in Windsor, in what appears to be a studio setting, People notes. According to a Kensington Palace spokesperson, “The Prince and Princess saw Josh’s work and wanted to capture a memorable family portrait,” the Telegraph reports.

All five are dressed similarly, but not matchy-matchy in a creepy, uniform way. All are wearing classic button-down shirts, Kate and Charlotte are in jeans, William and George donned dark-colored slacks, and Louis—ever the rebel—appears in shorts. The only visible designer comes from a logo on George’s chest: Ralph Lauren’s iconic polo horse and rider, a mainstay of the 1990s-era American style.

The card is already drawing comparisons to King Charles and Princess Diana’s holiday card from 1992, in which William and Prince Harry posed in similar garb, in front of an almost identical backdrop. Telegraph fashion editor Bethan Holt sees a message in the image, writing that “beneath the surface, it’s full of references to a happier period in William’s relationship with his brother and mother.”

But to other pundits, it’s more a throwback to 1990s style. “Sinner’s photograph is the Americanization of the Waleses,” Hikmat Mohammed writes for WWD, “with a mix of ’90s JC Penney catalog with Calvin Klein’s Eternity campaigns.”

But to this correspondent’s eye, its preppy style and color-drained setting captures the glory days of now-flagging mall standby The Gap, specifically its 1992 campaigns with photos from artists such as Annie Leibovitz and Stephen Meisel. While that ad push featured heartthrobs like actor John Corbett, hip-hop duo Kriss Kross, and model Naomi Campbell, the vibe is similar: a direct gaze, deceptively casual pose, and a timeless, risk-free look.

Who are Savannah and Isla Phillips?

    [ad_1]

ONE of the late Queen’s greatest pleasures was being around her adorable great-grandchildren.

And among the beloved youngsters is Peter Phillips’ sweet children, Isla and Savannah.

    Who is Savannah Phillips?

Savannah is the eldest child of the late Queen‘s grandson Peter Phillips and his ex-wife Autumn and was 12th in line to the throne at the time of her birth.

Born on December 29, 2010, in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Savannah’s full name is Savannah Anne Kathleen Phillips.

Mostly kept out of the public eye, Savannah’s name was only publicly confirmed during a church service at Sandringham where the reverend shared a prayer for the then family-of-three.

Despite being included in the order of succession, Savannah does not hold a royal title.

This is all because Princess Anne and her husband Captain Mark Phillips rejected the Queen’s offer of a royal title for their son Peter when he was born in 1977.

They feared that a Royal title would prevent him and his family from leading a normal life.

Although Savannah attends large Royal events, the Phillips lead a very private family life and live in London.

    Who is Isla Phillips?

Isla Elizabeth Phillips arrived on March 29, 2012, and weighed a healthy seven pounds, four ounces.

Although her parents have never commented on their daughter’s middle name, it is widely believed that this is in honour of her late great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth.

She is a year and a half younger than her older sister Savannah and one year older than future King, Prince George.

Despite being in line to the throne, Isla also does not hold a royal title.

Isla and Savannah enjoy a family day with mother Autumn in 2016Unlike her internationally famous cousins, Isla old enjoys a normal childhood in London and has been photographed on family days out with her parents and older sister.

She has appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony with her famous family the past two years.

Who are Peter and Autumn Phillips?

Peter Phillips is the late Queen’s eldest grandchild and the only son of Princess Anne.

He met his Canadian wife Autumn Kelly, who was working as a management consultant at the time, during a Formula 1 Grand Prix in Montreal in 2003.

Like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they married in Windsor Castle five years later on May 17, 2008.

Having been raised a Catholic, Autumn had to officially convert to the Church of England before her wedding to Peter as his grandmother Queen Elizabeth is the head of the Church.

Peter and Autumn’s daughters are the first children in history to be included in the order of succession while also holding dual Canadian citizenship.

Peter’s sister Zara Phillips is expecting her second baby and her children will follow Savannah and Isla in the order of succession.

Zara already has a daughter, Mia Grace, with husband Mike Tindall.

  • Fit for a Future King: Inside Eton College, Harry and William’s Posh Alma Mater

Fit for a Future King: Inside Eton College, Harry and William’s Posh Alma Mater

    [ad_1]

Eton continued to be closely tied to the British monarchy. King Henry VIII visited soon after his accession, and his daughter Queen Elizabeth visited and was frequently entertained by Eton’s students. King George III was such a fan that the school still celebrates his birthday with the Fourth of June holiday (it’s not held on June 4 but after the end-of-May bank holiday), which includes boat processions, speeches, and cricket.

Eton could be a harsh place for boys who didn’t fit in. During his enrollment in the early 1800s, the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley was the target of constant bullying. “Shelley-baiting was an enjoyable and well-recognized pastime,” The Chronicle reportedly recounted in 1968, “and lurid accounts are handed down to us of his being pursued screaming round the Cloisters by hordes of bloodthirsty Collegers.”

However, Eton seems to remain a magical place for its alumni, even Shelley himself. According to Cust, shortly before his death, Shelley warmly reminisced about his time at school, hankering for the brown bread and butter students used to get on the trips into town, and recalling a beautiful girl they would often see.

Though Shelley is not known to have ever written a poem dedicated to Eton, the 18th-century poet Thomas Gray immortalized the school in “Ode on a Distant Prospect of Eton College.”

Ah, happy hills, ah, pleasing shade,

              Ah, fields belov’d in vain,

Where once my careless childhood stray’d,

              A stranger yet to pain!

As the non-noble middle and upper classes rose in England during the 19th century, getting your son into Eton meant ascendancy in the rigidly class-conscious society. According to Cust, the famous actor Charles Kean’s entrance into Eton was due to his father’s unexpected windfall. “When his father, Edmund Kean, made his great success as ‘Shylock’ at Drury Lane, he hurried home to his wife,” Cust writes, “and said ‘Mary you shall ride in your carriage, and you, Charley, shall be an Eton boy.’”

While Eton was becoming slightly more democratic, members of the British royal family were also beginning to send their sons to school instead of educating them at home. Eton, of course, was the most fitting place, despite occasional scandals along the way. In 1928, American actress Tallulah Bankhead caused a national scandal when it was claimed that she seduced multiple Eton students, spiriting them away under a rug in her car to the nearby Hotel de Paris. The report so troubled officials that the government sent a representative to discover the truth of the rumors. Unsurprisingly, Eton was uncooperative.

These wild rumors did nothing to stop the flow of minor royal family members and aristocrats to Eton. Queen Elizabeth II’s cousins Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, and Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, and Prince Michael of Kent all attended Eton, as did Princess Diana’s father, John, 8th Earl Spencer, and her brother, Charles Spencer. Princess Diana’s familial links to Eton were part of the reason 13-year-old Prince William became the first senior royal to enroll there in 1995.

Eton became a haven for Prince William in the midst of his parents’ public feuds, which reportedly left him deeply embarrassed. Unlike other royals, he was a diligent, clever student and took his studies seriously. He also forged a close bond with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, walking to Windsor on Sundays for tea, where the royal grandparents lavished support on the young man.

  • Prince George Will Celebrate His 10th Birthday With a “Special But Not Showy” Celebration

Prince George Will Celebrate His 10th Birthday With a “Special But Not Showy” Celebration

    [ad_1]

Prince George will turn 10 on Saturday, a milestone birthday that is special for every child.

Prince William and Princess Kate are understood to have planned a party for family and many of the prince’s friends at their Windsor home, but in keeping with all “big” birthdays, the celebrations will be “special but not showy,” according to one family friend. Football, one of George’s greatest passions, is likely to feature prominently during the gathering.

There will be official pictures to mark the occasion, a royal tradition William and Kate have made their own with the princess often taking charming and candid photographs of her children on their birthdays.

One person who will be watching the occasion closely is childrenswear designer Rachel Riley, as she has been dressing the prince since he was a baby. Her pieces are also popular with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, and together, the children have been spotted wearing her brand on 23 occasions. Riley, who works closely with the Princess of Wales’s dresser, Natasha Archer, to ensure Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are all immaculately dressed, has had a pivotal role in all three of the Wales children growing up.

    Karwai Tang/Getty Images.

For Riley, who started making clothes for her own children so that they could be comfortably and smartly attired, watching George, Charlotte, and Louis grow up wearing her clothes has been a privilege and an honor. It’s possible that George, who has worn Rachel Riley outfits on many occasions, will be wearing something from Rachel’s collection to celebrate his 10th birthday, however, she never knows what the children will wear until the occasion itself.

“Seeing pictures of the royal children is uplifting and joyous and I think it makes everyone feel happy,” Riley exclusively told Vanity Fair. “There’s a lot of hardship in the world and these children seem to bring a smile to people around the world.”

In recent years, the Prince and Princess of Wales have been more relaxed about allowing their children to be in the public arena. Prince George and Princess Charlotte have attended various important occasions from the memorial service for their great-grandfather the Duke of Edinburgh to the queen’s state funeral in September last year. In May, all three children attended King Charles’s coronation where Prince George had a key role as page of honour.

  • Prince George Is Reserved in Public But He’s Reportedly a “Cracking Lad” Behind the Scenes

Prince George Is Reserved in Public But He’s Reportedly a “Cracking Lad” Behind the Scenes

    [ad_1]

Back in 2016, Prince William and Princess Kate took their son Prince George, soon to turn three, on a trip to the Royal International Air Tattoo, a military air show. During that trip, the loud noises overwhelmed the young prince, and he was photographed crying before being outfitted with a pair of ear protectors. On Friday, one week before George’s 10th birthday, the trio returned to the air show along with Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and this time around the family smiled as they toured historic planes and even got to climb aboard a C17 cargo transport aircraft.

The return trip was a sign of how the family has changed as William and Kate have been turning their focus to royal duties after a decade spent putting their children first. For years, appearances by the youngest royals were rare, but as they have aged, their presence has become more constant. Charlotte and Louis are the ones who tend to attract the attention of the cameras on their engagements, and George has long seemed more reserved. But a family friend told People that the heir to the throne is also full of personality. “He’s a cracking lad,” the friend added.

Children’s designer Amaia Arrieta, who has dressed all three Wales children in the past, told the magazine that he is becoming more comfortable in public. “I think George knows the drill by now,” she said. “You can see he’s really grown into it and looks more relaxed than ever.” She added that he is “really sporty,” and his parents have encouraged him to play sports from an early age.

For the last year, George, Charlotte, and Louis were all students at the Lambrook School in Berkshire. Late last month, George and Kate were seen taking a tour of Eton College, the prestigious Windsor boarding school where William and Prince Harry attended school in the 1990s. Students don’t enroll at Eton until they turn 13, but they must register for admission during the school year that they turn 10.

Naturally, Middleton worked his dog Mable into the announcement. “We couldn’t be more excited,” he captioned a photo of Thevenet playing with one of the couple’s six dogs. “Well, Mable might be.” He also mentioned the recent loss of his cocker spaniel, Ella, who died in January. “It was a very difficult start to the year after losing my beloved Ella. However, we will end the year with the most precious little addition to our growing family.”

On the account for the healthy pet food company he named after Ella, he added, “We have a new member of the pack coming soon, we couldn’t be more excited.”

Thevenet and Middleton started dating in 2018 and tied the knot in a small Cote d’Azur ceremony in September 2021. The new Middleton will be the seventh grandchild born to Carole and Michael Middleton, and will be a first cousin to Kate’s children with Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis and Pippa Middleton Matthew’s three children with her husband James Matthews, Arthur, Grace, and Rose.

In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, James praised his sister for her work promoting early childhood education, and shared a few thoughts on what he thinks about a child’s earliest years. “The things you know in your early childhood that you might not mentally remember—emotionally and physically you can remember them but they stay with you because you’re told them and you build on them,” he said. “It’s amazing.”

Prince William And Kate Middleton React After Hours-Long Coronation Event: ‘What. A. Day.’

    [ad_1]

    By Miguel A. Melendez‍, ETOnline.com.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have officially put King Charles III‘s coronation ceremony in the history books, and “what. a. day.” it was!

The Duke and Duchess of Wales’ social media account on Saturday posted a 1-minute behind-the-scenes video of the royal couple and their children getting ready to embark on the eventful day. The video, set to a regal soundtrack, begins with Princess Charlotte and Prince George emerging out of their royal residence ahead of William.

Charlotte appears awe-struck at what awaits the family outside the residence. Kate, looking elegant as ever in her royal garb, emerges last before they all hop into their waiting caravan to take them to their carriages. The video then transitions to the family along The King’s Procession, with a shot of Charles and Queen Camilla waving to the crowd from inside the Gold State Coach.

After hearing the crowd’s roar, the royal family takes its place on the balcony at Buckingham Palace, where they undoubtedly had the best view for the military flyovers. The royal couple didn’t need too many words to describe the momentous occasion, while also thanking “everyone who made it happen.”

Charlotte, 8, and Louis, 5, had the cutest reactions during the coronation carriage ride back to Buckingham Palace, like when Louis looked out the window and his father told him to give the crowd a wave. George and Charlotte proved they were pros when it came to waving to the public, as they were spotted doing just that as they passed.

But once they got to the balcony, it was Louis who stole the show with his facial expressions, at times looking intrigued and at other times bored. He also waved to the crowd with a bit of sassiness. Louis stood alongside his parents, both of whom appeared to get a kick out of his antics.

    What a day, indeed!

William and Kate Honor the Late Queen With an Unseen Balmoral Photograph

    [ad_1]

During her life, Queen Elizabeth II was close to her eight grandchildren, and spent many holidays and family occasions with her numerous great-grandchildren. Because the late queen would have celebrated her 97th birthday on April 21, Prince and Princess of Wales are honoring her memory by sharing a previously unseen photograph of the queen and a handful of her descendants, taken by Princess Kate last summer at Balmoral.

    Instagram content

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

The photograph is also a who’s who of the young royals we’re likely to see at events over the next few decades. It features her two youngest grandchildren, Lady Louise Windsor and James, the Earl of Wessex as of last month, the children of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. William and Kate’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are standing in the second row, each with a wide grin. To the left of the queen are  Zara and Mike Tindall’s three children, Mia, Lena, and Lucas, and to her right are Isla and Savannah Phillips, the daughters of Peter Phillips.

Four of the queen’s great-grandchildren are not included in the picture. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Prince Lilibet, have never visited the Balmoral Estate. August Brooksbank, the son of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, and Sienna Mapelli Mozzi, the daughter of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are also not pictured. (In January, the palace announced that Eugenie and Jack are expecting a second child this summer.)

The royals’ main family Instagram account also posted a tribute to the late queen, a photo taken during a walkabout in Edinburgh last June, and a reference to the fact that she wasn’t actually born as the nation’s heir presumptive. “When Her Majesty was born in April 1926, Princess Elizabeth and her family did not expect that she would one day become Queen,” the caption read. “Following the abdication of her uncle King Edward VIII in 1936, her father acceded to the throne.”

  • Princess Kate Celebrates Mother’s Day With a New Portrait of All Three of Her Kids

Princess Kate Celebrates Mother’s Day With a New Portrait of All Three of Her Kids

    [ad_1]

Princess Kate celebrated Mother’s Day in the UK by sharing a new portrait of herself with her three children.

To commemorate the holiday, the royal shared a photo of herself sitting in a tree with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis on her and husband Prince William‘s joint Instagram account on Sunday. “Happy Mother’s Day from our family to yours ❤️,” the Princess of Wales captioned the image. For the family portrait taken by photographer Matt Porteous, Kate wore a white button-up shirt, jeans, and white sneakers, while George wore a blue polo shirt and black shorts, Charlotte wore a denim romper, and Louis wore a black-and-white striped polo with jean shorts. In a second image she shared on social media, Kate can be seen cradling her youngest son in her arms as she looks down at him lovingly. Based on their outfits, the pictures appear to have been taken at the same time as the family’s 2022 Christmas card. Those photos showed all five family members holding hands as they strolled down a sunny country lane near their new home in Norfolk, Anmer Hall, part of the royal family’s Sandringham Estate.

The Prince and Princess of Wales and their children are currently all gearing up for King Charles‘s coronation on May 6, which George, Charlotte, and Louis “are expected to join their parents” for, per The Times. They will all be on “public display” in a horse-drawn carriage as it leaves Westminster Abbey following the crowning ceremony. But according to The Telegraph, William and Kate are still debating whether or not to give their eldest son an official role in the coronation proceedings. During past coronations, the younger heirs to the throne have traditionally remained in the congregation.

However, George might get to take part in a newly televised aspect of the ceremony as there is some discussion of making the previously private moment when the Archbishop of Canterbury rubs the new monarchs with oil under a canopy public. The Sunday Times reported that Queen Consort Camilla would like to include her five teenage grandchildren into the ceremony by having them hold the canopy during this important moment. The outlet added that Charles and Camilla met with Kate and William to discuss the possibility of incorporating George into that element of the ceremony as well. “It sends a nice signal and is quite a bold move,” a source told the outlet. “It is another example of the king and queen Consort being unafraid to shake things up a bit to reflect the realities of modern life, of which a blended family is a central element.”
