  • Legendary Bay Area rock act to perform Super Bowl Sunday concert at Levi’s

Green Day, one of the most successful acts in Bay Area music history, is getting in on the Super Bowl Sunday fun.

The East Bay pop-rock band, which formed in Rodeo in 1987, will perform an opening ceremony set just moments prior to the big game taking place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on Feb. 8.

The performance by Green Day — the multiplatinum trio consisting of vocalist-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool — celebrates the Super Bowl’s 60th anniversary and will be used as the soundtrack to usher generations of Super Bowl MVPs onto the field.

“We are super hyped to open Super Bowl 60 right in our backyard!” Armstrong said in a press release. “We are honored to welcome the MVPs who’ve shaped the game and open the night for fans all over the world. Let’s have fun! Let’s get loud!”

Fans including Ashley Lim, of Pleasanton, center, react as Green Day performs during their Saviors Tour at Oracle Park in San Francisco, Calif., on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024. Lim got up on stage to briefly sing with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. (Jane Tyska/Bay Area News Group)

The Green Day news was announced during halftime of the NFC Divisional Playoff matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears on Sunday. This opening ceremony/performance will be aired live at 3 p.m. during the Super Bowl TV broadcast, which is being carried by NBC and Telemundo.

The game itself is set to start at 3:30 p.m.

  • BottleRock Napa Valley delivers one of its best lineups to date

BottleRock Napa Valley has released its 2026 lineup.

And it’s one of the best in the storied history of the festival.

That has so much to do with the inclusion of Lorde, the incredibly talented modern rock/pop entertainer whose latest release, “Virgin,” came in at No. 1 on our list of the best albums of 2025. Lorde also put on one of the top concerts we saw last year — back in October at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley.

The second BottleRock Napa headliner that really has us excited is the Backstreet Boys, the legendary “boy band” known for such glistening pop hits as “I Want It That Way,” “Bye Bye Bye” and — ranking in as one of the finest ballads of the ’90s — “Quit Playing Games (with My Heart).”

Other top names on the bill include Dave Grohl’s Foo Fighters — which is making its third appearance at BottleRock, following headlining slots in 2017 and 2021 — as well as Teddy Swims, LCD Soundsystem and SOMBR.

Further down the bill, you’ll find plenty of other cool acts — Lil Wayne, Chaka Khan, Rilo Kiley, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, etc. — which combine to make this one of the strongest BottleRock bills in years.

The complete lineup is listed below.

Tickets for this three-day music (and so much more) festival — which runs May 22-24 at the Napa Valley Expo in downtown Napa — start at $475 per person and go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 14, BottleRockNapaValley.com.

No word on when, or if, single-day tickets will be released. Individual daily lineups will be announced in the weeks to come.

  • 4 Keni Titus Songs You Need To Add To Your Playlists

We can’t exactly tell you why, but winter is the best time to listen to indie singer-songwriters. Maybe there’s something about the cold weather that makes us crave the calming cadence of something we might call “sad girl pop.” But let us tell you, when it comes to Keni Titus, the smooth strumming of her acoustic guitar paired with her dazzlingly sweet voice feels like a warm hug on a cold winter day.

If you like artists like Gracie Abrams and Alix Page, you will love Keni Titus. However, we don’t want to box her in with the sad girl pop movement. So captivating is the edge she adds to her music; sad will be the last emotion you feel. In fact, Keni’s latest single, ‘hands to myself,’ sounds like feeling the first bit of sunlight after months of cold, dreary gloom.

You know that feeling when you’ve been floating along in the winter, and then you get the first warm day? You go outside in a T-shirt, even though it may still be too cold for that. But you want to feel the sun on your skin, and you feel alive again. That’s listening to Keni Titus. Even the cover art feels distinctly sunny. Her past single covers have shown her outside with the lush green grass behind her. She’s leaving no question about her music: It’s bright, it’s charming, and it might be our next obsession.

‘Hands to myself’ is the third single Keni has released ahead of her debut album, AngelPink, out February 6. Because we’re counting down the days until this release, we’ve decided to take you along with us. If you haven’t had the pleasure of discovering Keni Titus yet, read on. We’ll give you four songs you should listen to right now.

‘think i got a bad idea’

We’re starting off strong with this one. Such a fun song, and it’s impossible not to feel her energy. It’s indie pop perfection with an alternative edge, and the combination is mesmerizing. Along with the genre blend, her lyrics paint a picture of a life unique to a young woman. What is a love song on the surface tells a tale of a complicated relationship that could only be that of a 22-year-old woman finding her place in the world underneath.

    ‘just keep driving’

Another fun tune that we just can’t help but smile while listening to: ‘just keep driving.’ And the music video captures everything that Keni Titus’s music feels like. With the sun-kissed look and the hazy camera quality, it’s like we’re in an endless spring dream. We’re eating ice cream. We’re laughing with our friends. And honestly, in the winter, that’s exactly what we need.

    ‘You’re leaving soon’

‘You’re leaving soon’ has a fresh sound that still feels strikingly familiar. Her voice feels like a hug from an old friend. This song is a perfect example of what Keni Titus does best. Sad girl perfection but with an edge. The echo in her voice feels haunting as she tells a tale that may not have meant as much to her as it seemed. But if she just needed “someone to write about,” she got a pretty great song out of it.

    ‘hands to myself’

We couldn’t make this list without directing you to her latest single. Teasing her upcoming debut album AngelPink, Keni has said that ‘hands to myself’ introduces the album’s theme of duality. With this song and everything else in her discography so far, there’s no doubt this album will be both honest and thoughtful. Through this record, she’s finding her place in the world, or maybe reminding herself of it. And we’re more than happy to figure things out with her.

When I wrote ‘hands to myself’, I kept circling back to the whole grass is greener thing. The temptation, the quiet wondering, and thinking maybe you took something for granted. It’s really just an honest exploration of that pull. The first line kind of sums it all up: ‘I look at you like my dog sees the back screen porch, could there be more?’ It’s about discovery and longing, and honestly just fumbling through trying to figure out what would actually make you happy.”

Keni Titus on ‘hands to myself’

Now that you’re caught up on all things Keni Titus, you can join the countdown to February 6. Until then, you can preorder AngelPink here, and of course, stream her music! And if you’re located in New York or L.A., her upcoming headline shows are sure to be magical. You can grab your tickets at the same link we used above. If you’re not lucky enough to see her in action yet, feel free to come chat with us about her on our socials! You can find us at @thehoneypop on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • ‘The best place to hear live music in San Francisco’ is closing down

The Bottom of the Hill — once dubbed as “the best place to hear live music in San Francisco” by Rolling Stone magazine — is set to close its doors at the end of 2026.

The popular music venue, which booked early-career gigs by Green Day, Oasis, Alanis Morissette, The Strokes and other acts that would go on to headline major arenas and festivals, will host its last gig on New Year’s Eve, according to a post made on the Bottom of the Hill’s Facebook page.

“We make this announcement with great difficulty,” the post reads. “This legendary business will have lived to the ripe old age of 35, a long stretch in San Francisco for an independent rock ‘n’ roll venue of our size. It has been a wonderful trip, and we are full of stories and memories. We have hosted tens of thousands of musical artists and have been a community partner as well, holding numerous benefits, school recitals, weddings, birthdays, and memorials. Let’s have one more solid year of memories together and bid a fond farewell to a legendary venue.”

The closing will mark the end of one of the Bay Area’s marquee independent music venues — one of the very few that aren’t booked by a major concert promoter. Yet, thankfully, the club owners are giving people plenty of advance notice so that music fans from all around the Bay Area will have12 months to visit and bid farewell to the club, which has also hosted such great bands as the Throwing Muses, the Donnas, Queens of the Stone Age, Neutral Milk Hotel, the White Stripes and the Dandy Warhols since originally opening its doors at the corner of 17th and Missouri streets in the Potrero Hill district in 1991.

“We will curate one more year of great shows, enticing bands that make up our history to come back for one final play on our stage,” the Facebook post reads. “Let’s celebrate, for one more spin, how far we came, how many bands we hosted, how many amazing people we worked with.

  • Music Rewind 2025: Sabrina Carpenter Is Taking Over The Musical World, Man’s Best Friend Is Proof

If you’ve been living anywhere other than under a rock this year, there’s a one hundred percent chance that you’ve heard of Sabrina Carpenter! In just a few short years, we’ve gotten to watch an artist we’ve loved for years blossom into a full-blown pop star, and 2025 was the biggest year of them all! From being on SNL, to winning big at the Grammys (and being nominated again) to releasing Man’s Best Friend, there was no stopping Sabrina Carpenter this year! When looking back at Sabrina’s list of accomplishments this year, we knew we had to break down some of the biggest and best for you!

    Let’s jump in!

    Man’s Best Friend

We say this with complete confidence, Man’s Best Friend is one of the best pop albums of the last decade! And we don’t even think that’s a hot take because we’ve watched the general public fall as in love with this record as we, career-long fans, have. The witty songwriting, the visual storytelling, the vocals, and the elements Sabrina continuously excels at are heightened even further here on this record. From ‘Manchild,’ which has been inescapable, to some of our favorites, ‘Go Go Juice,’ and ‘House Tour,’ there is no doubt in our mind that Man’s Best Friend will have a long, ever-evolving life with fans.

    Grammy Awards

The Grammys are one of those accomplishments that artists spend their whole careers chasing, that hold meaning for their nominees, and for fans alike. At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Sabrina Carpenter took home two (!!!!) awards, and has already scored six nominations for the 2026 ceremony! That is the direct result of over a decade of hard work and dedication to mastering her craft.

    Variety Hitmaker Of The Year

Much like the Grammy Awards, being named Hitmaker of the Year comes on the heels of hard work. What sets this honor apart is that being a “Hitmaker” in such a pop-saturated market takes a deep understanding of what a “pop” song entails, and how to catch lightning in a bottle time after time. From ‘Espresso’ and ‘Manchild’ to ‘Nonsense,’ Sabrina’s deep understanding of this concept just keeps growing.

    Saturday Night Live

SNL is a true rite of passage for creatives throughout the entertainment industry, and Sabrina pulled off three appearances this year alone! And even more impressively, one of these appearances included the double duty of hosting and performing! These appearances reminded so many people that Sabrina is an actress! Her comedic timing is impeccable, and she also happens to have an incredible voice and is a master storyteller.

Check out more of our year-end/holiday content here!

We would love to hear from you! What was your favorite Sabrina Carpenter moment from 2025? Let us know by commenting below or by tweeting @TheHoneyPOP! We are also on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok!

  • The 25 Best Pop Songs Of 2025: Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, & More!

2025 was truly the best year in pop music we’ve had in a while! It seems like artists are simply locking back into what makes a true pop song and mastering that art. Narrowing this list down to simply 25 songs was quite the challenge, but we think this list is the best of the best throughout all facets of pop music! From Olivia Dean and Chappell Roan to Greyson Chance and so many more, let’s jump in!

Taylor Swift – ‘The Fate of Ophelia’

There is no way to talk about the great pop resurgence of 2025 without highlighting The Life of a Showgirl by Taylor Swift. For us, the entire album is full of examples of a true-to-form pop song, but we had to choose to highlight ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ due to it being inescapable since its release. This song is pure ear candy, and will get stuck in your head for hours even after just hearing a few seconds.

Olivia Dean – ‘Man I Need’

Olivia Dean is taking the pop music world by storm with ‘Man I Need,’ and to us that makes perfect sense. In anyone else’s discography, ‘Man I Need’ would be an easy career highlight, and yet, it’s one of many songs on Olivia’s most recent album, The Art of Loving, that blew us away upon the first listen and could have easily taken this spot.

    Sabrina Carpenter – ‘House Tour’

Man’s Best Friend is stacked top to bottom with pop gold, but after listening back through the album, ‘House Tour’ had to be our choice! Everything from that infectious chorus to the “my house is on pretty girl avenue” line made this one of those songs that will soundtrack nights out for us through the foreseeable future.

Jonas Brothers – ‘Love Me To Heaven’

The Jonas Brothers have been experts at the pop music game since Nick first uttered the words ‘red dress’ back in 2008, so it’s no surprise to us that they are only getting better and better 17 years later. Their newest record, Greetings From Your Hometown, had an obvious stand-out to us the first time we listened, and that was ‘Love Me To Heaven.’

    Audrey Hobert – ‘Phoebe’

Who’s The Clown? by Audrey Hobert was truly on an endless loop here at THP! Upon first listen, it was automatically clear that we were witnessing the artistic birth of someone who had a crystal clear understanding of how to bring themselves through in the music, be specific while staying relatable, and develop a sound that was particularly hers. We could have easily put any song from the album here, but ‘Phoebe’ is a forever favorite of ours!

Greyson Chance – ‘Waiting Outside The Lines ‘25’

No, we are not trying to transport you back to 2011, but there is so much beauty in taking a certified nostalgia-packed hit and reimagining it with years of life lived and heightened vocal ability to back it up. We can’t help but have a permanent smile on our face listening to this track and diving into Greyson’s current catalog (which everyone should do themselves the favor of doing)!

    Jensen McRae – ‘Novelty’

If you asked us what album impacted us the most this year, one of the easiest answers would be I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! Anyone who has dived into Jensen’s discography knows what a savant she is. Her relationship to her pen is one of one, and this album may be the best example of that in her discography so far. ‘Novelty’ is the song that immediately jumps out at us as a must-listen.

Lady Gaga – ‘How Bad Do U Want Me’

Lady Gaga is synonymous with pop music at this point. She has always had the skill on lock, and in many ways, has influenced so much of what the modern genre looks like. MAYHEM was a true return to form for Lady Gaga, and showed that her knowledge and talent with the pop music world has never faltered. ‘How Bad Do U Want Me’ is an instant smash and is still on repeat.

5 Seconds of Summer – ‘NOT OK’

We will forever preach our love for 5 Seconds of Summer and how they get better with every release! (If you didn’t know, this band is literally why THP exists!) EVERYONE’S A STAR came out just over a month ago and is the band’s most ambitious, larger-than-life project yet. But of course, every element was nailed perfectly. Each of the guys has so many standout moments, but there are even more moments when it is so clear why they continue to make music together: everything flows seamlessly.

Sadie Jean – ‘She’s Dating My Boyfriend’

Sadie Jean is the exact singer-songwriter your playlist is in need of, and we had to highlight a track off her debut album, Early Twenties Torture! Every song on this record feels like Sadie had a insider’s look at our deepest thoughts and struggles, was able to turn them poetic, and then put them to music. That skill of relatability is rare. ‘She’s Dating My Boyfriend’ is our favorite example of that peek inside our minds.

    Laufey – ‘Lover Girl’

Laufey has seamlessly blended the worlds of pop and jazz music and made a fusion that leaves us regularly at a loss for words. A Matter of Time is Laufey’s most recent album. And upon our first listen, it was clear that this is a generational album, one of those records where anyone who gives it a chance will fall in love with it. ‘Lover Girl’ is our favorite song off the record, so we had to highlight it!

Amber Mark – ‘Let Me Love You’

Amber Mark is the pop star you’ve been looking to add to your playlists! If you’re a fan of artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Dean, Amber’s album, Pretty Idea, and specifically our favorite track, ‘Let Me Love You,’ is going to be right up your alley! We are predicting that 2026 is going to be a huge year for Amber! And with music of this quality, it makes complete sense!

    Justin Bieber – ‘Yukon’

‘Yukon’ was one of our most-streamed songs of the year; it’s that serious to us! SWAG, for us, felt like Justin coming back into his own, making the music that feels true to form. With ‘Yukon,’ that infectious chorus we’ve come to know and love from Justin Bieber is the shining star, which definitely adds to why we are constantly playing this track on a loop.

    Lydia Night – ‘The Bomb’

You may know Lydia Night from her time with the band The Regrettes, but trust us when we say she has turned into a full-blown solo pop star. Lydia released her debut album, Parody of Pleasure, back in August, and all thirteen songs are expertly crafted! ‘The Bomb’ has been a standout since we first dove into this album. The song is playful and reminiscent of early 2000s pop.

Role Model – ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’

Obviously, ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’ has taken the world by storm this year, so there was no way we weren’t going to give Role Model his flowers. We haven’t heard a chorus quite as infectious as ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’ in quite a long time. It’s impossible not be in an instant good mood when it hits.

Myles Smith – ‘Stay (If You Wanna Dance)’

If you were as obsessed with Myles Smith’s ‘Stargazing’ as we were, then ‘Stay (If You Wanna Dance)’ is the perfect addition to your playlists! Myles is someone who you continue to find new things about his artistry to dig into with each listen.

Zara Larsson is a pop star in the truest sense of the word. Her entire album, Midnight Sun, is a pop masterclass, in which she’s the only person equipped to teach. When we first heard the title track ‘Midnight Sun,’ we knew that this was a whole new ball game in terms of pop music, and that we would take every opportunity to praise what Zara is doing with her artistry.

    HAIM – ‘Relationships’

This song is pure ear candy and truly a discography highlight from one of our favorite trios! The chorus has serotonin woven into every line and lyric. And it makes us want to be out at night in the city with friends, dancing to every word. Their most recent album, i quit, is chock-full of tracks where you will see these themes.

    Conan Gray – ‘Vodka Cranberry’

Conan Gray was born to make the exact music he’s making right now. He releases such infectious pop tracks with lyrics that both feel true to self for Conan and still connect deeply with his audience. ‘Vodka Cranberry’ blew up this year, and to us, it only makes perfect sense. This is a solidified hit.

    Tate McRae – ‘Sports Car’

If you didn’t know, Tate McRae is a name that we have been screaming from the rooftops since we got to interview her years ago (which you can read here!). Tate blends musicality with dance seamlessly to draw people into who she is as a musician. ‘Sports Car’ and its visual components showcase exactly why Tate has quickly become a household name.

Avery Cochrane – ‘Shapeshifting On A Saturday Night’

Hailing from Seattle, Avery Cohrane is bound to be the name you can’t escape this next year in pop music! This year, she released her track, ‘Shapeshifting on a Saturday Night,’ and blew us away with the established pop sound she was crafting. If you’re a fan of artists like Chappell Roan or Olivia Rodrigo, we think you will love Avery!

    Addison Rae – ‘Headphones On’

It’s no secret that Addison Rae has had a massive year. From the success of ‘Diet Pepsi’ and her tour to her debut album, Addison, everything about her career so far has been the beginning of a pop star who will be talked about and celebrated for years to come. For Addison, pop is a true work of performance art, following in the footsteps of the likes of Britney Spears. ‘Headphones On’ off her debut album summarizes everything we love most about Addison as an artist.

Reneé Rapp – ‘I Think I Like You Better When You’re Gone’

We yell the chorus to ‘I Think I Like You Better When You’re Goneat truly astronomical levels. Everything about this track resonates with us. Something that Reneé Rapp never fails to do is draw the listener in and weave her story in a way that feels relatable to others. On top of the lyrical content of the song, Reneé’s vocals are otherworldly here.

    Demi Lovato – ‘Joshua Tree’

The 2025 version of Demi Lovato is the only artist who could craft an album like It’s Not That Deep. This record is a amalgamation of someone who has gone through it all. Someone who has experienced hardships and heartache and is in the complete opposite space now. And a lot of it is backtracked with songs you want to be in the club dancing to. That’s the duality of pop and of Demi, and it’s beautiful. To us, ‘Joshua Tree’ best represents the album as a whole.

    Chappell Roan – ‘The Subway’

Ending our best 2025 pop songs with one that is still inescapable like ‘The Subway’ only felt right. Chappell Roan is a once-in-a-lifetime artist. She creates with such intention and really takes her time with each project, which comes through in the music. ‘The Subway’ will be looked at years from now as one of the great songs of the decade.

Check out more of our end of year coverage here!

We would love to hear from you! What is your favorite pop song of 2025? Is it something off the new Taylor Swift album? Maybe a Conan Gray song? Or an Olivia Dean song? Let us know by commenting below or by tweeting @TheHoneyPOP! We are also on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok!

  • Celebrate Fifth Harmony’s Reunion With These 5 Must-Listen 5H Songs

August of 2025 delivered the ultimate pop surprise as Fifth Harmony reunited on stage in Dallas during the Jonas Brothers concert! Considering that the group originally split because most of the members wanted to pursue solo careers, this reunion gesture was explosive enough to take over social media for days.

Here, at Honey Pop, we couldn’t let you miss out on their iconic songs, so we’re sharing these gems to take you straight back to your sassy 2010s era. These Fifth Harmony songs are ‘Worth It!’

    ‘Worth it’

R&B beats, dynamic rhythms, and a feature with Kid Ink, paired with a glamorous video, smashed the public in 2015. That was Fifth Harmony’s triumph, ‘Worth It’ — an unforgettable hit that got listeners moving and full of energy all over the world.

And when we say hit, we mean it. ‘Worth It’ became a sleeper hit on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 12 and marking it as the most successful song in the group’s history at that time.

But what’s so special about this song? We say it’s the mix of different music styles, where pop, R&B, and even jazz come together to be blasted on every high school girl’s MP3 player. And of course, to deny Kid Ink’s seductive rap part in the song would be a crime. His smooth flow, combined with the girls’ confident and powerful vocals, makes listeners truly believe they are worth it.

We definitely know you’ve already blasted those punchy lines — “Baby, I’m worth it!” You must have. But playing it on repeat again wouldn’t hurt, especially if you’re looking for the perfect track to set the mood for your day.

    ‘Work From Home’

If you’ve only thought of Camila Cabello as a solo artist, the opening moments of the ‘Work From Home’ video will remind you of her bright and undeniable presence during her Fifth Harmony days. Simply, it’s a fantastic track co-written by the incredibly talented Joshua Coleman and Jude Demorest, featuring an appearance by Ty Dolla Sign.

No explanation needed why it is another band’s banger and lead single from the group’s second studio album, 7/27 .

Straight after its release, the track surpassed ‘Worth It,’ peaking at the same number 12 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100. It went on to become the first top-five single by a girl group in ten years, following the massive success of ‘Buttons’ by The Pussycat Dolls, which reached number three.

We can’t say if ‘Work From Home’ made Fifth Harmony the new Pussycat Dolls of the mid-2010s, but this hit is definitely worth your attention. Especially if you remember working from home during the COVID era, it feels like an artistic prediction of the apocalypse.

    ‘BO$$’

Another one of Fifth Harmony’s signature tracks, heating up 2015 dance floors in nightclubs from New York to LA, ‘BO$$’ was all about manifesting women’s power and independence long before Tate McRae did it in her multiple hits, most notably ‘Greedy’. Yes, it’s an early 2010s anthem of general women’s independence, and even more interestingly, it also celebrates financial independence, as the song’s title might hint.

The first offspring of the Fifth Harmony talented family, ‘BO$$,’ is the lead track of their debut studio album Reflection, released in 2014. The production cast didn’t let us down, with prominent American music industry legends Taylor Parks, Eric Frederic, and Gamal Lewis working hard on the song’s creation. It must be highlighted that Fifth Harmony started with this bang of a track and continued at the same high level.

Warmly received by critics, ‘BO$$,’ like the previous two mentioned songs, also earned a spot on the US Billboard Hot 100, this time, however, peaking at number 43.

We decided to place it at number three on our personal list. Not because it’s any less amazing than the other two, but because it’s nearly impossible to choose the best of the best when it comes to Fifth Harmony hits, even though in your heart it might be number one.

    ‘Sledgehammer’

From the same Reflection album and the first recorded single straight after The X Factor show, ‘Sledgehammer’ stands out from the sassy ‘BO$$’ as one of the few Fifth Harmony tracks full of love and heartfelt dependence on someone else. The “Sledgehammer” itself is used as a metaphor to explain the infatuation effect.

Co-written with Meghan Trainor and co-produced with Benny Blanco, the track is of a Synthy-Pop style, closer to Electronic music of the 1980s, which distinctly sets it apart from most of the band’s R&B tracks. This artistic choice to layer electro-pop sounds works perfectly with the video, where the girls appear as superheroes wielding sledgehammers, trying to break down the walls around love, yet still looking delicate in their light white tulle dresses.

Again on the Billboard Hot 100, this time at place 40, yet the last one on our list, ‘Sledgehammer,’ still solidified the group’s strong musical performance in the industry.

    ‘All In My Head (Flex)’

Playful, fun, flirty, and super chill — the ultimate track for a lazy self-care day. In other words, the perfect reset-day jam for your playlist. And its reggae style, together with the video of the band sunbathing on a divine coast, only reinforces this mood.

Released in 2016 as part of the 7/27 album, ‘All In My Head’ is all about a sweet crush and the thrill of romance, while the other part of the song’s title, ‘Flex,’ serves as a metaphor for flirting, more in a confident way than a subtle one. This one is definitely the band’s carefree love song, standing out among their hits that usually dramatize the theme.

The producing team was as outstanding as ever, including Joshua Coleman and DallasK, with the first one being a regular contributor to the group’s growth and sound throughout their history. Both known for creating some of the best pop hits of their time, the duo masterfully blended reggaeton and hot Latina summer vibes with the sun-soaked American coast backdrop. The track brought the band another spot at number 40 on the US Billboard Hot 100, with critics calling it pure feel-good vibes.

We call it the perfect addition to our Honey Pop list of legendary Fifth Harmony hits, and if this one’s about to cheer you up right now, we’re more than happy to share!

  • Don’t Think Later About These Tate McRae Songs – Listen To Them ASAP!

From TikTok anthems to chart-crushing pop hits, her songs are absolutely everywhere right now. The Canadian singer, dancer, and viral social media favorite, only 22 years old, has been fueling our powerful “who runs the world – girls!” playlists with her sassy diva lyrics ever since her breakout hit ‘greedy’ dropped in 2023. Before the release of ‘greedy,’ the 2021 track ‘You Broke Me First’ was already making waves, peaking within the top ten of the Canadian Hot 100 and landing in the top 20 of the US Billboard Hot 100, proving her star power long before her latest takeover.

With the recent release of the 2025 Spotify Wrapped, we stand on the edge of 2026. The Honey Pop decided to share with you Tate McRae’s essential tracks you definitely don’t want to miss.

    ‘Just Keep Watching

It’s a clear banger to go wild, whether you’re crushing it at the gym, sweating it out at home, or forcefully preparing for exams. All while aiming to reach that prime era where you can proudly tell yourself  – you are the best! Released later this year, Just Keep Watching’ has already hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Electronic Songs chart and broken into the Top 10 on both the Global and U.S. Spotify charts.

Undoubtedly, Tate McRae’s popularity is skyrocketing just as fast as 2025 flew by. And surprise: ‘Just Keep Watching’ is featured on the soundtrack for the new Brad Pitt film F1, which follows the turbulent career of struggling race car driver Sonny Hayes, set against themes of success, friendship, and a dramatic crash back into reality.

So, if you haven’t started blasting this fiery, unstoppable track to crush your day and chase your dreams, do it now—even the F1 soundtrack credit can’t top it!

    ‘Greedy

Yes, yes, I know, we know, and TikTok knows too, otherwise, why would your feed be streaming the iconic“I would want myself” lines on every reel? You sigh, “Again this song?” We say, obviously—this track is a must. A hymn for all the broken women’s hearts, reminding them how precious they are and that no one should ever burden them if they can’t value their incomparable selves. ‘greedy’ ruthlessly dominated the charts in 2023, leaving every competitor in the dust.

Powerful as a self-affirmation, ‘greedy’ pushes even further, showing that your value doesn’t depend on someone you used to love or love in general. Self-love is always stronger, and it deserves to be celebrated just like this song. C’mon, ladies and gentlemen, after all, it’s her most-streamed hit with 2.07 billion total streams. Give it the credit it truly deserves!

    ‘You Broke Me First

After the first two bangers mentioned above, ‘You Broke Me First’ may have slipped a little from music lovers’ minds, but don’t let that fool you. It’s still another heartbreak-revenge anthem for the ages.

Written collaboratively with Griffin Stoller, Victoria Zaro, and Lowell, all talented musical producers and independent artists, You Broke Me First’ is a more honest, raw, and quietly regretful take on love, especially compared to the bold, sassy energy of ‘Greedy.’ With its emotional vibe and perfect balance between “sad-pop” and mainstream energy, it’s a timeless classic that still hits hard in today’s overly digital world.

In fact, ‘You Broke Me First’ marked McRae’s global breakthrough, amassing 1.9 billion streams since its 2020 release and remaining popular to this day.

    ‘Exes

Last but certainly not least in our selection is, of course, and we know you’ve been waiting for this one—Exes,’ And please don’t tell us you haven’t heard it or that you didn’t dance to it on one of your girls‘ nights out. We know you totally did. The pop, R&B, and trap vibes of the track actually stem from McRae’s spontaneous decision to add one final song to her album Think Later, serving as a logical conclusion that reflects the album’s full concept in a polished way.

Released the same year as ‘Greedy,’ it also earned its well-deserved spot on the Olympus with 735 million streams—a solid hit among her songs. Even more, her live performances of the track are outstanding, combining strong choreography with powerful vocals. Ironically, what began as an afterthought has become a chart-topping hit, proving that McRae is a pop genius who deserves all your attention.

  • Review: Is Sarah McLachlan’s voice still better than ice cream?

Having spent much of the last two years celebrating the old — with the Fumbling Towards Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Tour — Sarah McLachlan is now onto something new.

“This is a brand new show, with brand new songs off the new album called ‘Better Broken,’” McLachlan told the capacity crowd at the Masonic in San Francisco on Friday. “I’m going to pepper the set with new stuff, but there will be lots of old, familiar stuff as well.”

New path, but one thing definitely remains the same as ever: her voice is better than ice cream. And, yes, that includes cookie dough ice cream.

During the course of nearly two hours, and running through 20 songs from more than 30 years of her stellar career, McLachlan’s voice was nothing short of exquisite, divine, miraculous, wondrous — take your pick of highly complementary adjectives, since they all pretty much work in this situation.

  • K-pop stars announce flurry of donations to support victims of Hong Kong tower fire

SEOUL, South Korea — K-pop band aespa and other South Korean pop stars have announced a flurry of donations to support victims of an apartment fire in Hong Kong that killed at least 128 people in one of the city’s deadliest blazes.

Girl group aespa said they will donate 500,000 Hong Kong dollars ($64,000) to the Hong Kong Red Cross, according to a post on their official Weibo account. “We express our deepest sorrow regarding this heartbreaking news,” the band said.

Stray Kids pledged 1 million Hong Kong dollars ($129,000) through World Vision Hong Kong for temporary housing and other support for affected children and residents. “We were all very heavy-hearted upon hearing the unfortunate news from Hong Kong,” the group said.

SM and JYP Entertainment, two of South Korea’s biggest entertainment companies, donated a combined 3 million Hong Kong dollars ($385,000) for emergency relief and disaster recovery.

Other K-pop groups that also pledged donations included boy bands Riize, EXO-CBX and KickFlip contributed 100,000 Hong Kong dollars ($12,900) through World Vision Hong Kong.

Organizers of the MAMA AWARDS, an annual two-day K-pop awards ceremony scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Hong Kong, faced online criticism in South Korea for not canceling the event in light of the fire tragedy.

South Korean entertainment company CJ E&M canceled both days’ red carpet events but said the main ceremony would proceed.

“We express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in the fire in Hong Kong,” CJ E&M said in a statement. The company said the awards would add a “Support Hong Kong” message and include time for mourning. Organizers also pledged to donate 20 million Hong Kong dollars ($2.6 million) to the support fund established by the Hong Kong government.

“We believe in the healing and solidarity power of music,” the statement said.

  • 5 Reasons Rosalia’s New Album LUX Deserves A Spot On Your Playlist

Known for her unusual yet distinctive, memorable, and almost intriguing musical style, Rosalía has been tearing up Spanish, European, and global charts with record-breaking numbers, reaching over 1,000 million streams at her peak over the last five years. Her song ‘Despechá’ hit 1,236 million streams on Spotify in 2022, while her “lowest” popular track, ‘TKN’ (feat. Travis Scott), still climbed to 495 million in 2020.

This year, beginning in early November, she delighted the audience with her fresh album LUX, which includes 15 digital tracks and 18 on the CD and vinyl editions. The Rosalía’s LUX album advert campaign was loud, sharp, and straight to the point.

Album cover in Times Square, orchestras on Madrid’s billboards, and songs in 13 languages, it blew up the internet and won new fans worldwide in just hours. The hype for the upcoming album went through the roof.  Social media was buzzing, dropping the playful hint: “Album of the Year?” Considering all this excitement, it’s clear this release is something you definitely don’t want to miss.

Here, at Honey POP, we picked five non-cliché reasons proving why LUX truly belongs on your Spotify list.

Catalonian DNA Fuses With Eclectic Rave

Born near Barcelona, in Spain’s Catalonia region with its own Catalan language and free-spirited identity, Rosalía grew up surrounded by flamenco rhythms from childhood. Blending those traditional melodies with Latin touches like reggaeton, she shaped a recognisable sound and performance style that feels entirely her own.

In LUX, Rosalía virtuously places the orchestra at the core of most tracks, adding to each a different mix of pop, rave, and electronic notes, together with striking, loud cues and screams that cut through the sounds of violin and organ.

The paradox of LUX’s success lies in its screaming infusion of spiritual music and Spanish baroque archaism. The sound itself becomes both the artwork and the instrument to convey the stories, carrying the ideas even without words.

    Unbeatable & Unexpected Collabs

Yves Tumor, Björk, and even the child choir Escolanía de Montserrat are not the whole list of collaborations LUX offers to the discerning listener.

Notably, while separate artists like Björk, the Spanish artists Estrella Morente and Sílvia Pérez Cruz performing each in one song, the Escolanía de Montserrat accompanied a full seven tracks, including ‘Magnolias’ and ‘Reliquia, highlighting the divine sense of the last tracks and the whole album’s core, referring to the divine topic as the roots of the world’s birth and natural processes like love, soul tortures and the rebirth theme.

The most explosive track, ‘Berghain‘, drew the most attention out of all the others.

The London orchestra, operatic singing, Björk’s deep, enchanting voice, the use of German, Spanish and English, the visual interplay of violence and love combining into a single whole, highlighted by Mike Tyson’s violent quote, “I’ll f*** you ’til you love me” allures strongly, almost forcing the space around the listener to convey the emotional background of the track itself. In the context of LUX, collaboration is not only about performers.

It masterfully weaves contemporary musical techniques with timeless classical traditions, where the divine choir gives way to words of cruelty and violence that coexist with love and tenderness, equally forming an inseparable part of the human life cycle.

    Rebirth Of History And Spirituality

The Palau de la Música Chamber Choir, the London Orchestra, Escolanía de Montserrat, and the sounds of the organ are not simply Rosalía’s whims or carefully staged hype to promote LUX.

Like the album itself, the presence of these different choirs, alongside operatic and baroque elements, points to the central idea of LUX — the question of divinity, where religion is reimagined as much as the human role within it. The Escolanía de Montserrat, a boy’s Catalonian choir, flows with precision and innocence, later replaced in some passages by the adult Palau de la Música Chamber Choir and the London Orchestra.

This progression embodies the musical art of LUX, illustrating the natural life cycle: as youth move into adulthood, they remain angelic and almost pure. In ‘Berghain‘, the London Orchestra plays brisk, ascending motifs that capture the essence of the song — love and hatred intertwined as part of the adult world.

By contrast, in ‘Magnolias’ and ‘Reliquia,’ the parts performed by Escolanía de Montserrat convey tender self-love, untouched by violence or suffering. Here, the children’s choir remains present on the spot, highlighting innocence, purity, and the gentle side of human experience.

    Femininity In Its Strength

In her interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Rosalía mentioned the powerful women in history who inspired her while creating LUX. Among them were Joan of Arc, Saint Olga of Kyiv, Saint Rosalia of Palermo, and Saint Teresa of Ávila.

However, what is particularly noteworthy is that, unlike how they are usually portrayed in history, these figures are, if not for the first time, presented to the audience not as martyrs but as women whose sanity, forged through suffering, is a source of strength rather than weakness.

Their resilience resists passive submission to the inevitable course of events. Fighting against a Catholic Church dominated by men, like Saint Teresa of Ávila. Standing up to her husband’s murderers in the name of justice, like Saint Olga of Kyiv. Striving for a kingdom’s unity only to be betrayed by men, like Joan of Arc.

The strength of these women went far beyond resilience, defying violence and centuries of patriarchal pressure. Nearly 500 years later, LUX pays tribute to their memory, weaving their courage and spirit into its tracks.

A Multilingual Hymn to Global Cultures

LUX is the first album ever with 13 tracks, with a couple of them having three or more languages in one.

Beyond her love for diverse cultures and their histories, Rosalía, fluent in Spanish, Catalan, and Portuguese, revealed that creating a multilingual album reflects her long-standing passion for learning new languages.

This daring blend of languages, from Japanese and Ukrainian to French and more, struck a chord with listeners, propelling the album’s popularity to unprecedented heights, even by Rosalía’s already global-star standards. • Exclusive Interview: Arrows In Action Spill All The Details About I Think I’ve Been Here Before

If you’re looking for a new band to take over your playlists, look no further than Arrows in Action! Their latest album, I Think I’ve Been Here Before, is the perfect gateway into their musical world, so this is the ideal time to jump in! We were lucky enough to get to chat with Arrows in Action all about their newest album, past music, live shows, and so much more!

Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us! To start us off, how would you describe your sound to someone who is tuning in for the first time?
We’re an alternative pop-rock band! We’re a blend of everything we love, and we love a huge array of music.

I Think I’ve Been Here Before is less than a month away. What emotions are you guys feeling leading up to the release of this record?
We’re feeling a mix of relief, excitement, and catharsis with the release of this album! We can’t wait for people to hear it all in its intentional order.

Out of the eleven songs on the record, only two are unreleased. What goes into the decision of what to release and what to hold back?
We wanted to make sure to save the conclusion of the album for the day of release. We were very intentional with the track order on this record, and we wanted our fans to experience the album in its entirety together.

‘Hello Sunlight!’ is the oldest track on the record, having been released in May of last year. When this song came out, did you know it was part of a bigger project, or did that come with time?
Though it was released far ahead of the album, ‘Hello Sunlight!’ is the track that started the writing process and was instrumental in guiding us towards the sounds that would make up Side A.

You’ve released this album in two parts, with Side A coming out earlier this year. How do you group the songs and figure out which song belongs on which side?
In both subject matter and sonics, we accidentally curated two distinct vibes while writing this album. It could be the simplest thing, like the placement of a minor chord that guided a song toward side B, and in many cases, it was the lyrical perspective that placed the song.

With a new album comes the hope of live music! While crafting the album, which song off this album were you most looking forward to bringing to life on stage?
    Victor: ‘Cheekbones,’
    Jesse: ‘Empty Canvas,’
    Matt: ‘Empty Canvas.’

Your debut album, Be More, came out four years ago! When you look at the artists who released that record, and the artists who are about to release this record, what do you see as the biggest area of growth?
Our biggest area of growth has been how much we collaborate! With years of touring and writing together, we know each other better than ever before, and we know how to expand on each other’s ideas.

Once again, thank you so much for chatting with us! Before we let you go, what is one thing on the Arrows in Action bucket list as we close out 2025?
A bucket list item we completed this year was headlining in Europe and the UK! A bucket list item we have that is yet unchecked is performing at Red Rocks in Colorado. Thanks for having us!

Check out more of our exclusive interviews here!

We would love to hear from you! What is your favorite song off of I Think I’ve Been Here Before by Arrows in Action? Let us know by commenting below or by tweeting @TheHoneyPOP! We are also on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok!

  • 5 Aespa Songs You Need On Your Halloween Playlist

We adore Aespa at THP! Always willing to experiment with new sounds, this iconic girl group has taken the K-pop world by storm. Whether they’re crafting futuristic soundscapes or singing gentle melodies, Aespa have never been afraid to get spooky. Here are five standout tracks that you absolutely need on your Halloween playlist!

    ‘Salty & Sweet’

This catchy track from their EP My World really is haunting! From the metallic, droning sounds of the production to creepy lyrics about poison apples and potions, this track has a dark undertone. It’s Aespa at their best, still futuristic and experimental, but putting a twist on the girl crush vibe. This track is about them taking control, with potentially deadly consequences! The visualiser for this track really feels apt, but watch out, arachnophobes, this one might get a bit too scary!

    ‘Supernova’

This hyperpop hit is a standout from their first studio album Armageddon. Seriously, what’s scarier than the end of the world? Aespa depict themselves as supernatural beings on this track, capable of immense power. With the highly danceable chorus and beautiful harmonies, it’s easy to forget that Aespa are quite literally calling for cosmic annihilation. The video for this track is hilariously off-the-wall, featuring aliens, superpowers, and a mesmerising dance break. Only these girls could pull off such a strange concept!

    Black Mamba

A venomous debut, this is an action-packed intro to the iconic girl group! The track focuses on a battle with the elusive enemy, ‘Black Mamba.’ With its strong bass and synth sounds, the track is equally catchy and creepy. An essential addition to any Halloween playlist, ‘Black Mamba’ is all about facing a luring sense of evil! The music video adds to this unsettling vibe, with the threat still looming at the end of the sequence.

    ‘I’m Unhappy’

Another track from My World, ‘I’m Unhappy,’ fits the Halloween vibe perfectly! With its haunting synths and melancholic lyrics, this song is a stark contrast to the typical upbeat hits of the summer. Instead, this track definitely gives fall vibes, as it’s moodier and slower than the typical Aespa track. The isolating music video is certainly a must-watch, with a creepy hallway scene that sets the scene. Throughout the video, the members are transported into a school setting, reflecting on the harsh expectations placed upon them.

    Trick or Trick

Perhaps their most Halloween-coded song, ‘Trick or Trick,’ is a playful track from their hit album Drama. It’s a clever song about playing games with men and tricking them without offering any treats. With a heavy bass and humming synths, the track is both troubling and addictive. Aespa manages to combine a sense of unease with a sense of playfulness. Unfortunately, they never released a video for this track, but we can imagine it’d be truly terrifying!

What are your favourite Aespa tracks? Which other tracks would you add to your halloween playlist? Be sure to let us know by tweeting us at @thehoneypop or visiting us on Facebook and Instagram!

  • Spacey Jane And Mallrat Team Up On ‘Estimated Delivery’

It’s true! As if Spacey Jane’s ‘Estimated Delivery’ wasn’t magical enough, Mallrat has just taken it to the next level with the ‘Estimated Delivery (Magic Megamix).’ For those of you who may not be familiar with one or both of the artists in this unstoppable duo, allow us to introduce you. By the end of this article, you will no doubt understand why the post announcing this collab had us freaking out.

    Spacey Jane

‘Estimated Delivery,’ in its original form, lives on Spacey Jane’s third studio album, If That Makes Sense. Our dedicated Honey Pop readers may remember that this album was an instant hit for us. A new take on the classic rock sound, this album reminded us why we love the genre. Throughout the 13-track run, they explore topics like religion, childhood, holding on, and letting go. Against a vulnerable stream-of-consciousness writing style, they’ve set unforgettable melodies that hook us every time, striking guitar riffs, and driving beats.

Despite the wide range of topics that Spacey Jane discusses in If That Makes Sense, it is incredibly cohesive. They go through life; they figure things out. Their thoughts are jumbled, they think they’re healed one day and break down in tears the next. They don’t know if any of their thoughts make sense, but they’re doing their best to work through them. The album comes to a satisfying conclusion with bassist Peppa Lane’s response to singer Caleb Harper’s musings: “I hung on, if that makes sense.”

The theme of accepting the inevitable is prevalent throughout the album, but especially in the closer, ‘August.’ In this song, they accept the bittersweet end to something they may have struggled to let go of. Of course, at the end of the song, they’re still making sense of their own thoughts. But whatever comes next, life goes on. It is what it is, and they accept and begin to move on.

Near the end of this track list is our culprit, ‘Estimated Delivery.’ A beautiful song about a long-distance relationship, Caleb sings about longing for something that’s just out of his reach. And Mallrat adds a whole new layer to the narrative. With her verse, she introduces a new perspective on waiting for something that’s never going to happen. It makes the song more wistful because again, this relationship might be something that’s hurting both parties more by holding onto it.

    Mallrat

Now that you know all about Spacey Jane, allow us to introduce you to Mallrat as well. She’s fresh off her album, Light hit my face like a straight right, where she experiments with new sounds and just keeps getting it right. Whatever you’re into, Mallrat has it all. If you want to relax with a softer acoustic sound, check out songs like ‘Rockstar’ or ‘Groceries.’ If you’re more into the thrill of hyper pop, you’ll like ‘Love Songs/Heart Strings’ or ‘Hideaway.’ And if you want the best of both worlds, you should check out the whole album. In fact, we’ll point you to a few of our favorites: perhaps try ‘Pavement’ or ‘The Worst Thing I Would Ever Do.’ Similar to Spacey Jane, she layers reflective, vulnerable lyrics over beats that we’d want to hear in the club.

In Light hit my face like a straight right, Mallrat similarly feels like she’s posing questions to herself, trying to make sense of her own mind. She moves through topics like identity and the endlessly confusing nature of human relationships in all forms. As a whole, this album is something we haven’t heard before. Mallrat reaches for something through her songs, seemingly searching for answers. And one thing we can confirm for her is that she has a permanent spot on our playlist.

One more time, we’ll beg you to check out a few songs from each of these artists. And of course, listen to ‘Estimated Delivery feat. Mallrat (magic megamix)’ to experience this powerful combination. A combination that, dare we say, was made just for us. And you should be in on it too! Listen now and come to us with all your thoughts. We’re ready to discuss all your favorite releases, especially Spacey Jane and Mallrat, at @thehoneypop on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • Exclusive Interview: CVCHE Talks All Things Get Fluffy, And More!

If you’re looking for a new supergroup to dive into, look no further than one of our most recent musical obsessions, CVCHE! If you’re just now tuning in, you’ve done it at the perfect time! CVCHE’s debut album, Get Fluffy is due later this year, and we’ve just gotten their newest offering from the record, ‘The Star.’ We were lucky to chat with CVHCE about their upcoming record, ‘The Star,’ and so much more!

Listen to CVCHE’s newest track, ‘The Starhere!

Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us! To start us off, if someone is tuning in for the first time, how would you describe the kind of music CVCHE makes?
No, thank YOU! We’d definitely describe ourselves as the pioneers of Rural Canadian Techno, since that genre did not previously exist – nor may it EVER exist – unless people want it to. You could also say “organic electronic jams that make you want to dance in your socks on a hardwood floor.”

Get Fluffy is due later this year! What has the process of crafting your first album together as a group been like?
We set up four or five synths at one station for each of us. I would make a beat, then we’d all start dialing in sounds on our stations. Once we all had a good palette of sounds, someone would come up with a bass line or tonal starting point. Then we’d hit record and start laying in parts simultaneously, like a live jam, for about 20 minutes. We then edited the best parts into the final track. Some ended up tracking the record rather quickly, and on others, we spent a bit more time on arrangements.

How far into the creative process of ‘Get Fluffy’ did ‘The Star’ come to be? Were you still actively crafting the album?
It all happened very quickly from inception to completion because of the process I outlined above. It’s a great way to work, and we just know each other so well that there was very little mucking around and/or throwing things out. We actually have a bunch more tracks we really like that aren’t coming out on the record. The chord progressions are more vocal-friendly, so we saved them to experiment with that at some point. We basically got into a great flow state and just made a whole bunch of stuff with no ‘demographic’ or all the other things you’re supposed to think about – where it fits, who will like it, etc. We just made music, and all this stuff is what came out, with no fidgeting around with expectations. It was fun. And still is!

When you’re in the midst of a jam session, and a song like ‘The Star’ starts to form, do you guys automatically realize you have something you want to dig into further and possibly release?
We actually aren’t jamming in the typical sense. It’s more about coming up with a beat we all like, then a bassline, or riff, or chord progression. If we like where the early stages are going, we start dialing in sounds we like on all of our respective synth stations and all sorts of approve of them or not as we’re working them up. Once we have a big palette of sounds and the framework of the track, THEN we “jam” in a structured way for 20 – 30 minutes as every synth patched into ProTools is in record. We then edit it down with the sections we feel are gelling the most.

With CVCHE, when did the idea first spark to form this group? Were you all approached at once?
Liam and Jimmy started jamming a bit after tracking a Metric record, and then I came in. We drank wine, pulled out more synths, and then decided to make a record after we’d already finished making it.

Each of you comes from different groups that we are sure have their own creative processes. How do you bring each of those into this new group, and what works best for what you want to be creating?
I think all of our experience combined really helps in making navigating the technological aspect of things secondary to creativity, which can be a challenge for everyone. We know how to dial sounds up quickly, and we know how to get around our synth collections, arranging, mixing, etc., so it’s more about us playing off of each other rather than getting caught up in midi troubleshooting (which we’ve collectively probably spent 8 million hours doing). We all use Pro Tools, and it helps that Liam is a legit Pro Tools wizard.

And speaking of what you want to be creating, it’s been said that you guys want to “make releasing music as fun as creating it.” What aspect of creating music do you think is lost in the stress of releasing said music?
Oh, wow, I could talk shit about algorithms all day! Making records is fun, spiritual, bonding, magical, and all the other feels, and then comes… algorithms, metadata, streaming companies, troubleshooting passwords, traffic light captchas. So romantic, isn’t it? So, we just said “fuck all this.” Yes, it has to be done, but what else can we do to keep it fun? That’s when we brought Jon Morris in as a member of CVCHE. He did Nine Inch Nails’ stage design, as well as designed for Lady Gaga and Metric, and has done loads of huge installations at Burning Man. Jon is the official-unofficial king of fun. He helped make an infinite scroller video game (it’s fun… check out www.heycvche.com), and we’re building out a super fun merch store. We’re planning a crazy, awesome live show as well. We tell more jokes on calls than we talk about business. We have no strategy to ‘beat the algorithms.’ We just have fun and, in between, fill out endless forms and upload to streamers and publishing info. Gotta keep it fun.

You recently released your single ‘Thumper.’ What inspired that song, and how did it come together?
A super weird thumping sound that randomly started coming out of the MS-20… a ghost in the machine, as Sting would say. We made a track around the sound and then ended up muting it in the end — the track, as you hear it, remained.

While crafting this upcoming album, Get Fluffy, was there a song that felt like lightning in a bottle? That once it started, you guys knew it was going to be one of the ones that made the record?
No, because we like all of them. We have more that aren’t on the record – more so because the chord progressions lend themselves to vocals – so we’re sitting on those for the right time.

We have to talk about the video game! Where did the inspiration come from to include this in the process of putting out music?
Jon Morris brought that to the table, and his friend/coder, Sonny, dialed it all up. At the time of creating the game, with a new song release per level of the game… We are as certain as we can be that we were the first to do this in this way.

Once again, thank you guys so much for your time! Before we let you go, what can fans look forward to as we close out 2025?
More sock jams that make you wanna dance in your socks on a hardwood floor, live shows from us at some point, and hopefully vacations in the Caribbean when it starts to get cold — for both us and fans alike. Who wants to make a plan!? We’re SO IN. ⚡️

  • Standing By for Taylor Swift’s Final Showgirl Surprise

    So, girl …
    Photo: Ashok Kumar/TAS24/Getty Images

This article was originally published on October 2, 2025. Swift dropped another countdown on October 4, ending at 7 p.m., which led to the release of more album variants featuring acoustic songs from The Life of a Showgirl. She’s ready to break records, people!

Taylor Swift has her release-week run of shows all set to go. For The Life of a Showgirl, Swift has it all scheduled in a handy itinerary to help everyone keep track: The Release Party of a Showgirl in theaters, a few late-night-show cameos, and … wait … what is “Standby,” written around the 7 p.m. slot on Saturday, October 4? Below, all the theories about Swift’s surprise release, in order of least to most likely.

Fellow showgirl Sabrina Carpenter, who’s featured on the album, is headlining the Austin City Limits festival on Saturday, but a surprise performance at a musical festival sounds like a safety risk for Swift given the huge crowds and the highly anticipated album. The signed CDs were already a fiasco, and that was just on the internet. Swift’s first live performance for the album will probably be in a more controlled and secured environment, like 30 Rock.

Swift isn’t scheduled for SNL, but that doesn’t mean she can’t show up. She did a surprise introduction of Ice Spice’s performance in 2023; who says a girl can’t have a starring role in a Bad Bunny sketch? Swift could play Marcelo’s new girlfriend as he introduces her to his mother (Pedro Pascal) and aunt (Bad Bunny). She is a huge fan of his, after all, and she’ll be in town anyway for her late-night spot on Seth Meyers.

“Standby” might be another pool-floatie situation. At the Spotify pop-up in New York, fans got a preview of what looks like merch fit for a pop star after her performance. PJs, a robe, slippers, a duffel bag, an ornament, and a vinyl case were spotted with the new Showgirl logo. Swift hasn’t dropped anything on her web store besides physical music for the new album, and waiting until after everyone has listened to the album seems like the perfect time to drop.

Throughout the Showgirl era, there have been hints that we’re not totally done with the Eras tour. What about the added Tortured Poets set? Or all the filming that was going on during the final shows? Taylor Nation did say it lost a key in Vancouver. Maybe the surprise could be a live album or an update to the Eras Tour movie on Disney+. In the Spotify experience, there are two photos of Swift during the final leg in Vancouver and several references to the Eras tour stage — written in order, the track list is even in the shape of the stage.

When Swift bought all of her masters, did she think we would just forget about those “fireRep vault tracks? As we get closer to the Showgirl release, Taylor Nation has been teasing that there’s a snake loose backstage. There is a hidden message in the Reputation lyrics on Apple Music that reads, “They don’t make loyalty like they used to.” Is it just another lyric for the new album or a vault track for Rep? When you search the lyric on the iTunes Store, the song “Father Figure” pops up. But there are other possibilities for a Rep vault-track release in the future.

For Showgirl, Swift worked exclusively with Shellback and Max Martin, who produced nine tracks on Rep, so it wouldn’t be too crazy to think that they could’ve recorded a few more songs together. In the letter she published when she bought her masters, she said she kept “hitting a stopping point” when trying to rerecord her sixth album, but she still recorded the vault tracks. Maybe that was during the Eras tour. Swift also said that there will eventually be a time for the vault tracks to “hatch,” making the dark glittery cracks in the Apple Music Showgirl cover suspicious. Similar cracks that look like Swift’s lightning bolts appeared during “Delicate” on the Eras tour.

During Swift release week, it’s really hard not to get carried away by Easter eggs. She’s trained us to be this way! What if the standby note is just that? A placeholder for Saturday because she isn’t doing anything that day, and the calendar looked weird without anything else in that spot? Swift wants everyone to be ready for the week ahead — when she inevitably will drop a bunch of merch.

  • Exclusive Interview: Em Beihold Talks All Things ‘Hot Goblin,’  ‘Brutus,’ And More!

Em Beihold has been a mainstay on our playlists ever since her song ‘Numb Little Bug’ came out, so it is no surprise that her artistry is displayed in her newest song ‘Hot Goblin.’ We were lucky enough to chat with Em about ‘Hot Goblin,’ the thematic through lines of her recent music, ‘Numb Little Bug,’ and so much more!

    Stream ‘Hot Goblin’ here!

Hi Em! Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us! To start us off, how would you describe your music to someone who is tuning in for the first time?
Hello hello! Thanks for having me! I like to describe my music as quirky piano pop that talks about difficult things with a certain degree of levity. I’ve also been described as a popified Regina Spektor, and I really like that description.

‘Hot Goblin’ is your latest track! The lyric video felt like stepping into a fairy tale book. When crafting this track, was the inspiration immediately tied to that aesthetic?
Not really! When I was writing the song, I was initially thinking more along the lines of the experience of being a woman and how fickle our relationship with confidence can be. The fairytale stuff came after and felt obvious once the concept was solidified.

Something that immediately drew us to ‘Hot Goblin’ was the vulnerability hidden within this musically upbeat pop track, the understanding of insecurities, but the ability to still find confidence in that. What do writing sessions look like for a song that presents vulnerability in this way?
I think my co-writers Nick Lopez, Jason Suwito, and I had a lot of fun figuring out what the term “hot goblin” means. As a girl who definitely feels the pressure to constantly present as put-together, fashionable, hot, etc. (especially from social media), it felt freeing to put a name to the feeling of embracing your insecurities and messy parts while still loving yourself completely and not feeling less than.
I also wanted the song to be about that feeling on top of the world one day and at the bottom the next, so ‘Hot Goblin’ became a way to give language to that cycle. Nick has been a close friend since we wroteNumb Little Bug’ together, and Jason came into my life during a rough patch in my career, so there was already a lot of trust in the room. After we laughed about the phrase “hot goblin,” which I brought into the session (kind of as a joke), they both got it and locked in immediately. That balance of humor and honesty made the writing process really special. I write my favorite songs when I’m laughing.

‘Brutus’ is another recent release of yours! This track features some of our favorite visuals from you yet! Where did the creative vision for this video come from? And what was that on-set experience like?
I was really inspired by the movie Amadeus, which my mom showed me when I was going through an intense, unforgiving period of depression, where I couldn’t stop comparing myself to other female artists who were creatively unblocked and more successful than me. I related to the character of Salieri and thought it would be fun to bring that rivalry with Mozart as a vignette alongside a few others to tell the story of what I was feeling. The on-set experience is one I will never forget because it was a day full of fun and laughter with friends, which felt SO full circle after a year of essentially crying every day and hating being in my skin. I was so happy to be me and felt so proud of the art that came out of such a hard time. I also checked off two big goals of mine, which were: one, working with my co-director, Ethan Frank, whom I’ve been a huge fan of for years, and two, fencing in a music video since I was a competitive fencer for many years.

With both ‘Hot Goblin’ and ‘Brutus,’ the themes around the visuals are locked into days of old, with fairy tales and gladiator times. Is there an intentional through line there?
You know what; accidentally yes. It wasn’t intentional, but I think the whole album has puzzle-pieced itself together more than I planned for. It’s whimsical, it has hints of classical music, and instruments like the harpsichord! There’s definitely some fun “historical” stuff in there.

Egg in the Backseat came out three years ago! Is there a song on that record that, for you, has just gotten better with time?
I would say ‘Goo,’ because my fans have really taken to that one at my live shows. It’s kind of a sleeper, dare I say!

We, of course, have to briefly touch on ‘Numb Little Bug!’ Now that you are three years separated from the release of the track, how has your relationship to this song changed as time has gone on?
Oh my gosh! I wrote that song about my unfortunate experience with antidepressants, and now (after lots of trial and error), I’ve found one that has absolutely changed my life. It’s a cool marker of where I was then, and how much I’ve grown. I will always appreciate the response to that song and how much it changed my life.

Once again, thank you so much for chatting with us! Before we let you go, what can fans look forward to as we close out 2025?
My debut album is coming out very soon in 2026! It’s the proudest I’ve ever been of anything I’ve made. It’s about my journey through depression, experiencing complete loss of self, and how I have come out on the other side to be the happiest and most me I have ever been. It’s fun and pop and silly, and I’m ready for 2025 to be done so I can finally share this new music with my fans!

  • Exclusive Interview: Benjamin Steer Talks All Things Figuring It Out, And More!

If you’re looking for which artist is going to be the talk of the town before too long, look no further than Benjamin Steer! Benjamin Steer has just released his EP Figuring It Out, which showed us, clear as day, that we were looking at an artist who is going to have a long and prosperous career! We were lucky enough to chat with Benjamin all about the EP and so much more!

    Stream Figuring It Out here!

Hello Benjamin! Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us! To start us off, how would you describe your music to someone who is tuning in for the first time?
It’s a pleasure, thank you! I would say my music is sort of a soundtrack to confusion in your 20s, a soundtrack to love, to heartbreak, and to figuring things out. I’d like to think it’s pretty cinematic but has some energy in it too!

Figuring It Out is your debut EP! What feelings accumulate as you get ready to put your first collection of songs out?
It is weird. I always feel a bit of anxiety before release days, but then as soon as the project is out, the anxiety disappears. I don’t hold emotional attachment to the songs once they are out. It then becomes a case of how many people can get their ears on it. But certainly, I am really proud of these songs. I feel like it sort of marks the end of my first chapter in the music world. I feel like each song serves a different purpose; the whole thing feels pretty dynamic.

You described this record as “a hopeless romantic’s dream and downfall. What is one lyric throughout the project that best represents the dream aspect, and on the other hand, what lyric would you say best represents the downfall?
I think the dreamer line is definitely the chorus of ‘No One Wants To Die Alone,’ “Live Big Love Fast and not Die Alone.” It is sort of the payoff line in a song that lyrically is frustrated in many senses, and encapsulates the sort of desire of the EP. There are many downfall lines in the EP, so I’ll give you three: ‘Oh Darling,’ “Many nights I try to find you in other eyes… Am I blind to all that makes you you?” ’5%,’ “It’s the 5% that is in the spotlight and the 95 that hides behind my eyes – So I’ll keep it out of mind and out of sight.” ‘Sweat Off Our History,’ “I’ll thread the needle between who I am and what you want from me.” I think all of these lines sort of summarize the pressure that you have to appear complete and confident and put together… But in reality, you are still figuring things out – trying to find a purpose. And you often hide these insecurities and fears in actions and facades that are not favorable to yourself – just to appease others or numb yourself to vulnerability.

As we are writing this, the EP is officially out! What has the reaction to the record been like over the last few days? How are you feeling post-release?
Honestly, I think it went as well as I had hoped. I think these things take a journey themselves when they are out. I think hopefully it has legs to continue to connect with people and make an impact. People have been so supportive and kind, and I feel very unworthy. I always say this, and it is very cliche, but I am just a dude who writes about life and love in his bedroom, so it’s surreal that it is connecting so well!

When you released ‘No One Wants To Die Alone’ last year, did you already know this track was going to be everyone’s first taste of this EP? Or was it added in as the creation of the EP went forward?
No Idea. ‘NOWTDA’ always felt special. It was the first song that I wrote, and I was like, if this doesn’t become the biggest song, then I am not sure what will. It felt so right and felt so me. The EP was certainly not a manufactured Idea. It was sort of the collection of the best things I had written in the last 8 months, and it all felt rather cohesive. I think if I were to sit down with the intention of writing an ep, and with a certain goal and message, it would have almost felt like I wasn’t being authentic. That being said, ‘No One Wants To Die Alone’ was probably the first song I wrote out of the ones that made it on to the EP, so maybe in some way it did guide the sonic and messaging of the rest!

Hailing six songs, half of the record was previously released, and half of the songs were saved for release day. How do you go about deciding which songs you want to hold onto and let fans discover all at once?
I think there is a feeling that you get when you have a single, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the non-single tracks are missing something. I feel like putting out a bigger body of work allows you to release songs that may never come out as a single, but you still want people to hear them. I think ‘Sweat off our History’ is a good example; this would never be a single, but that does not mean that it isn’t good. So I am glad I had the opportunity to release it.

We want to go back a bit and talk about ‘Muted Colors,’ This track changed a lot for you! When you look back, what does your relationship with that song look like now vs two years ago when it was released?
I think ‘Muted Colors’ was the unexpectedly perfect first song to put out. It served its purpose in the time that it was written for me personally, but also to show an audience the type of music and messaging I wanted to pursue. I look back positively on it now for sure. It was the first stepping stone in a long journey to cross the river, and I’m so grateful that I could have even had the chance to start or embark on that journey. I think it worked because I was just honest, it was one of the first songs I had ever written and I did not really have a reference point as to what was ok and what was not. I think I do naturally cringe a little bit looking back to it now because I think my style and tone have changed a bit, but it certainly was a fantastic first step!

Once again, thank you so much for chatting with us! Before we let you go, is there anything coming up that fans can look forward to? Any live shows?
Hopefully got a lot of exciting stuff coming up! Going to hopefully do another London headline before the end of the year, and then a bit more of a fuller tour in early 2026! I’m also really excited to open for Arthur Hill on his UK tour in September!
