  • Residents of Mass. town warned of increased police presence amid ongoing operation

    Residents of a town in southeastern Massachusetts are being warned of an increased police presence on Monday morning.

    There is an ongoing police operation in the area of Chace Road in Freetown, according to the Freetown Police Department.

    Police noted that there is no threat to the public, but urged motorists to use caution when traveling through the area.

  • Large police presence at Cascades in Tallahassee after stabbing call, person jumps in lake

    A large police presence is gathered around the lake at Cascades Park Wednesday night.

    At about 7:45 p.m. a person jumped into the lake and appeared to struggle before going underwater. At 8 p.m. police were strung crime tape around the lake and a helicopter was circling overhead.

    The city’s online crime map showed that a stabbing was reported at 7:39 p.m. and EMS was needed.

    Officers were shining flashlights into the lake at 8:12 p.m.

    A Tallahassee Police Department watch commander said it was too early to tell what happened.
