    On Thursday, October 23rd, Piyush Pandey died. His funeral is scheduled for October 25th and will take place at 11 am, as per the reports. Piyush Pandey was not only an influential person but also the backbone of the Indian advertisement industry. He kept the Hindi language as an integral part of advertising. His artistry brought the brands into each house and made the language easy and friendly.

    The Indian ads industry has seen Piyush Pandey for more than 40 years at Ogilvy India. Having worked in various fields, including as a cricketer, tea taster, and construction worker, he came to Ogilvy in 1982. He was very lucky as at that time the advertising industry was still dominated by English and he entered it with his hard work and vision he never looked back.

    In this 2007 ad of Fevicol, Pandey made an everyday adhesive a silent hero. The ad shows a bunch of people riding a truck, and the truck goes on the road without losing its balance even if the surface is bumpy. This ad turned Fevicol into a product that was trusted and strong, and not just an adhesive.

    Piyush Pandey’s Cadbury Dairy Milk’s ‘Cricket Wala Ad’ (2007)

    This ad is a community reflection of India’s cricket passion. A boy scores a six and gets into a dance of joy, thus turning the whole neighborhood into his merry company. Pandey’s voice was at the forefront. The sentence, Kuch khaas hai zindagi mein! It has been there in people’s minds forever.

    This advertisement features a child being chased by a cute pug. Pandey associated mobile connectivity with friendship and trust. Hindi dialogues like Bhai, Hutch Hai Na! made it popular in every household. This ad rebranded the Hutch brand and gave the pug national recognition.
