  • Our Most Replayed Parts Of Hayley Williams’ Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party Album

We, as many people did, have listened to Hayley Williams’ new album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, on repeat since its release. We can’t even count how many times we kept repeating, basically all of these tracks. This album follows a collection of 17 singles, 16 of which we heard before, and one previously unreleased, ‘Parachute.’ We can go on and on about ‘Parachute,’ but that will have to wait. We love that she put it all in one place so that we can listen to each song back-to-back. We also appreciate the order in which they decided to place the songs.

    Tracklist:

    • ‘Ice In My OJ’
    • ‘Glum’
    • ‘Kill Me’
    • ‘Whim’
    • ‘Mirtazapine’
    • ‘Disappearing Man’
    • ‘Love Me Different’
    • ‘Brotherly Hate’
    • Negative Self Talk’
    • ‘Ego Death At A Bacherloretty Party’
    • ‘Hard’
    • ‘Discovery Channel’
    • ‘True Believer’
    • ‘Zissou’
    • ‘Dream Girl In Shibuya’
    • ‘Blood Bros’
    • ‘I Won’t Quit On You’
    • ‘Parachute’

We have to admit every single track ate with the lyrics. We initially tried making a list and narrowing down which song was our favorite, but we soon realized how difficult it was. Then tried lyrics, but as we said, they were just too good. So, here’s a list of our most replayed parts of the album. Enjoy!

    ‘Ice In My OJ’

Okay, look, there are a couple of parts in this track that had us hitting replay, like her tribute to an old project she was a part of, Mammoth City Messengers. She took that old part of her past self and reinvented it to be a banger with ‘Ice In My OJ.’ But there was one specific part that stood out, which was the chorus. We just love how almost gritty the “I’m in a Band!” part mixed with the “ah” part sounds. It’s just too good. It was such a great choice to open the album.

    Ah, ah-ah-ah, ah (I’m in a band, I’m in a band)
    (I’m in a band, I’m in a band)

    ‘Parachute’

We obviously had to include ‘Parachute’ since it’s the only song that wasn’t included in the original releases, plus it was our most replayed song on the album. Whatever you may think this track is about, we all agree that the track carries all the emotion and hits us with back-to-back punches. The part that just oozed emotion, as well as our favorite part, is the whole second verse. It really surprised us the first time we heard it, and we haven’t stopped singing it with the same emotion Hayley does ever since.

“You told mе you waited for me, you said that you won
Asked me on a plane from Rio, do I ever think of us?
And you were at my wedding, I was broken, you were drunk
You could’ve told me not to do it, I would’ve run, I would’ve run
Tell me what was the moment, you decided to give up
You could’ve told me what you wanted, I would’ve done, I would’ve done
    Anything, I would’ve done anything”

    ‘Zissou’

For ‘Zissou,’ we honestly love the references from the song, such as the inspiration from the song ‘Life On Mars?’ which is featured in the movie The Aquatic Life, specifically with lyrics like “Vem cá, me dá a sua língua.” It also has a reference to Megan The Stallion with the line “Megan called it “Monster Soup“” referring to Megan The Stallion talking about all the hidden stuff in the ocean. Out of all of that, our most replayed part has to be the second verse.

“Keep telling you the water’s fine
    Megan called it “Monster Soup”
But the monsters are you and I
We don’t have anything to lose”

    ‘True Believer’

‘True Believer’ was an immediate hit when it was first released, and for good reasons. Hayley has always been someone who speaks out, whether in her day-to-day life, during interviews, or in her music. She always helps put more eyes and ears on things. This track references racism in the South, religion, hypocrisy, and historical events that are worth knowing about, as well as songs that discuss the same topics. There is so much to take away from this track, but our most replayed part has to be the pre-chorus, specifically with its references to history and ongoing events.

“The South will not rise again
‘Til it’s paid for every sin
    Strange fruit, hard bargain
    Till the roots, Southern Gotham”

    ‘Love Me Different’

‘Love Me Different’ is one of those tracks that we wish were longer; we could’ve listened to three more minutes of this track. Hayley’s voice just sounds so good in this, plus the beat was just so good, especially the sampled parts from Phoenix’s track ‘Fior di Latte.’ Go listen to their song and come back to this one, and you’ll hear it. Now, our favorite part comes from the post-chorus, where she starts off strong and almost angry, then ends the part softly. Plus, the “huh” almost sounds like a sigh, and we just love it.

“And I want someone to love me different
    Huh”

We honestly could go on and on about everything we love about the Ego Death At A Bachorlette Party. We love how the beginning of ‘Mirtazapine’ reminds us of the beginning of Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘ballad of a homeschooled girl,’ or how in ‘Glum,’ Hayley changes her voice until she slows it down with the line “I wonder,” then it’s her actual voice. *Sigh* see! We could go on and on about every track on this album.

But that’s not all, guys, because Hayley Williams has said, and we quote, “we’re not done yet, there’s more,” so please excuse us as we scream. What does Hayley Williams have in store for us? Guess we just have to wait and find out, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled and continue listening to Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party

  • Paramore's Unexpected Move Could Signal The End Of The Band

Paramore's Unexpected Move Could Signal The End Of The Band

While gaining widespread popularity in the mid-2000s, they’ve experienced a huge resurgence in 2023 thanks partly to the emo revival and being the support act for Taylor Swift on her Eras tour. But everyone is wondering did Paramore break up? Or are they just reinventing themselves because of clues on social media?

Paramore was formed in Franklin, Tennessee, in 2004, and its original members included vocalist Hayley Williams, guitarist Josh Farro, drummer Zac Farro, guitarist Jason Bynum, and bassist Jeremy Davis. They achieved mainstream success with their second studio album, Riot! (2007), which featured hit singles like “Misery Business” and “Crushcrushcrush.” The album’s success helped the band establish themselves as a prominent force in the pop-punk and emo genres.

Following the success of Riot!, Paramore experienced lineup changes, with the departure of guitarist Jason Bynum and bassist Jeremy Davis. The band continued to release successful albums, including “Brand New Eyes” (2009), which featured the popular singles “Ignorance” and “The Only Exception.” These days, Paramore comprises two founding members: Williams and Farro, with the addition of Taylor York.

Now, fans are frantically discussing the question: Did Paramore break up? Because some clues on social media suggest something is going on.

    Did Paramore break up?

Did Paramore break up? Some people think they might have because their official Paramore Instagram account, with more than 3.5 million followers, has been totally wiped—same with Hayley Williams. Their website, too, delivers a 404 error, meaning the webpage does not exist. That’s as of December 26, 2023.

Two weeks prior, a post to their Instagram stories had fans in a panic because they spoke of “uncertainty” when it came to the band’s future. “Now that Paramore has spent the year touring behind This Is Why (and making sure to take better care of themselves while they’re at it), a chapter of the band’s career has come to a close. They’ve now fulfilled all label obligations and are effectively free agents. As for the future of Paramore, all three members agreed that there’s a level of uncertainty,” they wrote.

But the story also included a link to their interview with UPROXX, which featured the quote in full, adding at the end: “But one thing’s for sure — they’re still going to be together, and they’re still going to keep having fun. “The only thing that matters is we will still get to be each other’s community,” Williams said. Farro agreed: “I just hope we can keep building the Paramore empire and then rule the world.”

So mostly, fans need to cool their jets. “Artists nuking their socials before a new era is pretty common these days, and them changing record labels/starting a label/going independent/whatever it is they’re choosing to do is a pretty massive event,” wrote one fan on Reddit. “They’ll come back in a week or two with new band photos and maybe new branding and/or logo and people are going to be wondering what they were worrying about before.”

Some fans have theories as to why this may have happened and it could have something to do with Hayley Williams. “At the final show of the tour she mentioned she’d quit the internet. I wonder if she’s just sick of being the “face” of the band, because basically everything gets blamed on her. She does a lot to get people to recognise the other members of the band, she always has. I feel like now the contract she signed as a teenager has ended, if the focus will be less on her in the band now and more on the other members,” one observed.

“The amount of times I see people refer to Paramore as “she/her” is actually kind of wild, especially with Z + T have done so much for the band as well. I see it tonnes not only just in the wild, but also in this subreddit. I think maybe they want the perspective to change and I absolutely don’t blame them or her for wanting that to change.”

This was a popular theory. Another fan speculated: “I think it’s difficult to not be seen as the ‘face’ when you’re the main vocalist in any band. But in Paramore/Hayley’s case, it’s perpetuated even more by the fact she’s a woman (and the only woman) in the band, and one of few women in the space.

“I guess this means she is more distinctive in the genre than any of the rest of the band would be, meaning she just is more famous, especially since her solo work too. I also wonder about some media appearances (e.g., with Jimmy Fallon) where it seems to be just Hayley making an appearance – I wonder why this is the case and that also puts the focus on Hayley? Maybe the decision wasn’t made by the band but I thought it was a shame to not include T + Z!”

  • Paramore’s Hayley Williams Cancels Remaining Shows Amid Lung Infection

Paramore’s Hayley Williams Cancels Remaining Shows Amid Lung Infection

    By Zach Seemayer‍ , ETOnline.com.

Hayley Williams is stepping back from performing to allow her lungs to heal. The Paramore songstress announced on Thursday that the band would be cancelling the last two stops on their tour following her recent lung infection.

Williams, 34, took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday evening following a performance in Seattle, Washington, and explained how painful singing live was, noting that she hadn’t given herself enough time to properly recuperate.

“Hey everybody, we just got off stage in Seattle. After speaking with our team and my doc, I know that trying to finish this tour is now going to come at a detriment to my health,” Williams wrote in a message to her fans. “My lungs are just not healing quickly enough to keep up. It got a little scary tonight.”

“We will have the team post an official statement ASAP but we are going to have to cancel the last 2 shows of the tour so I can get better, finally,” she continued. “I know some of you are camping in Portland already, so I just wanted to get this out there. I’m so sorry for all the chaos this has caused some of you. I really tried to kick this s**t. Love you all.”

    Photo: Instagram/ @YelYahWilliams

On Thursday afternoon, Williams released an official statement on Paramore’s Instagram account, where she went into more detail about her illness and how she tried to get past it quickly to accommodate fans who had tickets to their concerts.

“After my lung infection forced us to postpone 4 shows, I was hoping a weekend off of performing and a strict medicine routine would allow my body to heal enough to finish off this tour strong,” she wrote. “I have been doing everything I can to fight this infection so we wouldn’t have to disappoint anyone with more news of postponement and cancellations.”

“After struggling through the last few shows and consulting with my doctor, we’re unfortunately realizing that it’s past the point of wanting to push through to put on a good show for all of you,” she added. “I’m now risking long term damage and I need to pay attention to my body. With that in mind and with a heavy heart, we have to cancel our remaining shows in both Portland and Salt Lake City.”

“We are so sorry to all of you who were so patient with us as we rescheduled these and likely rearranged travel pans to still come out,” she concluded. “I physically can not go on. I know this isn’t great news for anyone. Thank you for your continued support.”

The statement also assured fans that refunds for the canceled shows will be available at the point of purchase.

Paramore’s “This Is Why Tour” kicked off in October, but ran into a speedbump in July when Williams was first diagnosed with a lung infection.

The ailment came shortly after Williams was joined on stage by special guest Billie Eilish during a performance at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

Williams surprised the crowd by announcing Eilish was on hand to duet on Paramore’s 2009 track, “All I Wanted”, to the amazement and delight of the audience.

  • Paramore’s Hayley Williams Has A Message For DeSantis Supporters

Paramore’s Hayley Williams Has A Message For DeSantis Supporters

The lead singer of alternative rock band Paramore took the stage on Saturday night with a simple message for supporters of Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis.

The right-wing Florida governor has made the state increasingly hostile toward marginalized communities including refugees, Black people and LGBTQ Americans. He also signed a law that’s expected to make it nearly impossible for Floridians to seek abortion care and has blocked schools from teaching students about historical events concerning race and gender.

Williams co-founded Paramore in 2007, when the band largely drew inspiration from punk rock, a genre known for its anti-establishment stances on current events and politics. The Grammy-winning band is currently on its This Is Why tour and opened for Taylor Swift this spring.

  • Philly Soothes World Series Loss With … Rotisserie Chicken Eating Ceremony Victory

Philly Soothes World Series Loss With … Rotisserie Chicken Eating Ceremony Victory

Philadelphia is a city known for many things, good and bad. Now, you can add the legendary Alexander Tominsky, a.k.a. The Chicken Man, to the city’s mythos. His story started on October 8 when Tominsky announced that he was eating rotisserie chicken for 40 days straight. Claiming to already be on day 11, he realized what many have in this digital age—if it’s not posted online, did it really even happen? On October 27, Tominsky decided that the best way to end this streak was for a public gorge and made a flyer. This flyer ended up on the real streets of Philly.

The story garnered lots of online attention and even some offline. The independent outlet BillyPenn interviewed Tominsky and understandably felt the need to preface with the editor’s note: “Billy Penn is not affiliated with said event and cannot vouch for its authenticity or even existence.

When asked why people would come to see him eat a rotisserie chicken, Tominsky replied, “I’ve had long stretches of being tortured and people can relate. The City of Philadelphia has had a lot of pain, but it’s a city with a lot of perseverance. That’s what makes this city very special.”

A week later, the event indeed happened and has only blown up further online. A crowd formed. Someone laid out a red carpet. It looked glorious.

Even the official Gritty account commented under that video. The furball typed, “I love Philadelphia.”

Not to rub salt in the wound, but Philly really needed this after losing to the Astros at the world series the day before this event. Since gaining this attention, Tominsky has used this moment to call attention to those with food insecurity in a local neighborhood. On November 9, he encouraged people to donate to the South Philadelphia Community Fridge. This collab even features an option to distribute rotisserie chickens that was created with Tominsky. So far, this one specific type of donation has raised over $940 since he posted about it yesterday.
