I can’t help it—every time I’m looking for fresh ways to wear even the most basic of fashion pieces, I turn to my favorite French style muses for inspiration. I know I’m not alone in this because, no matter how cliché, these women just have a knack for making everything look painfully chic and effortless. Enter the black leather jacket. I’ve been wanting to wear my latest leather outerwear acquisitions without my outfits feeling stale, so to the chic Parisiennes I turned.
Whether it’s a black leather bomber, a moto jacket, a blazer, or another cut, I found some incredibly cool and elevated looks straight from Paris to get the styling juices flowing. No, it’s not just a bunch of denim looks—they’re are some great ways to wear the classic outerwear with everything from skirts to trousers as well. Keep scrolling to check out eight inspiring ways French women are wearing their favorite black leather jackets this season.
If you were to ask me who has been a consistent style muse for me since I started working in fashion (beyond the Olsen twins, of course), it would be Toteme’s co-founder and creative director, Elin Kling. If I could only wear one brand for the rest of my life, it would be Toteme, and I declared as much some years ago. When it comes to Kling’s personal style, it dawned on me that I still reference just about all of her looks from a decade ago up until today. That’s impressive in my book, to say the least.
Below, I take you through some of my favorite ensembles from Kling that date back 10 years or more. How does she do it? It’s all thanks to her continued commitment to elevated basics like tailored black blazers, classic jeans, simple shoes, and other genuinely timeless pieces. Keep scrolling to see seven incredibly chic outfits from Kling’s stylish archive that you can wear now and for many years to come. Seriously, these look like they could have been shot yesterday.
The fashion world is currently enamored with watches, especially ones designed for and worn by women. Instagram is loaded with them, showcased on wrists and stacked alongside sculptural bracelets or in a decorative box to show off a growing collection. In a retail space once dominated by men, women are embracing these meticulously crafted and categorically luxurious investment items with open arms.
In the past, celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Rihanna, and Jennifer Lopez dabbled in larger timepieces, but this time around, most of the watches that are trending among women are rather dainty in size. Think smaller Tanks and Baignoires and Lady Datejusts. While I am nothing if not smitten with all three of the aforementioned styles, I’m also someone who spent her early 20s in a men’s Seiko stolen from her father, which is why I’ve always had a soft spot for bigger, more substantial timepieces when time is taken to choose the right one and, of course, it is styled just right.
One trick to styling a men’s watch is to stick with cases that are 40 millimeters or below. Anything larger than that tends to be overly showy, a trait that’s best avoided, especially for an everyday watch. (Luxury watches are expensive and sought after, so you don’t want to draw an abundance of attention to yours. In 2022, nearly 7000 Rolexes were reported stolen or missing, according to data from The Watch Register.) I also prefer to go for classic color options and minimal designs that can be dressed up or down and will fit seamlessly with my existing jewelry collection and wardrobe.
A new year calls for fresh outfit inspiration, and one of our favorite celebrities is already leading the charge. Jennifer Lawrence was pictured polishing up her casual outfit in the most 2024 way. Predicted by the runways to be a major trend next season, Lawrence proved she’s ahead of the fashion game with her excellent styling of a black leather blazer by The Row.
A supremely chic outerwear option, a leather blazer combines the elegance of a classic blazer with the refined sheen and expensive smoothness of leather. Styling a denim and leather pairing, the actress kept her outfit looking casual yet elevated through her clever layering of textures. Completing her look with banana-milk yellow slippers (also by The Row) and black wide-leg trousers, Lawrence’s casual outfit provided a template for comfortable yet stylish winter dressing.
Now, don’t get me wrong. There’s a time and a place for sky-high heels. Birthday parties, nights out with friends and those rare occasions you can go from door to Uber to door. But in my opinion, running around day to day is not one of them. Whether I’m commuting into the office or heading out for brunch at the weekend, I’m a comfort-first girl always. What can I say? Comfort means confidence in my eyes! But, my aversion to heels doesn’t mean my outfits have to feel any less elevated (no pun intended).

It’s official: Winter is here. Now is the time to bring out the sweaters and coats and start to think about and revitalizing our weekly outfit rosters ready for the season ahead.
But let’s not make life too difficult for ourselves—instead of overhauling all your sartorial habits, start by tweaking your existing go-to looks. As a team, we Who What Wear writers are guilty of living in jeans. And we know we’re not the only ones. Scanning Instagram this week, I’ve noticed that pretty much every influencer I follow is just as reliant on denim as I am. It makes sense: no other trouser is quite as versatile, seasonless and suited to everyday wear.
So, let’s start there. Instead of reaching for your tired T-shirts and worn-out ankle boots after buttoning up your favorite jeans, try out some of the fresh combinations below.
Deciding what to wear in January can be a tricky one. It’s still freezing out, so you need to stay warm and cozy, but it’s also a fresh start. We’ve all likely made a resolution of some kind and have our eyes firmly fixed on moving forward, so it’s understandable if stepping back into 2023’s wardrobe feels a little, well, stale.
Luckily, there’s a solution—and it’s not throwing everything away! Naturally, a little wardrobe detox or organization is a great idea at this time of year, but budgets are also tight post-holidays. So before you swear off certain items, consider the pieces you may be able to use as a gateway to the new season. Make use of that capsule wardrobe we’re always raving about and bring out some of your timeless classics that you know you can rely on. But perhaps think about styling them up in a slightly different way.
We’re talking teasers of a fresh color palette, lots of layers, some chic suiting, and plenty of stripes. The key looks for the coming season have already made themselves known, so here’s your guide to easing them into your wardrobe while staying warm.
Keep scrolling for all the street style inspiration you need to inspire your January wardrobe, whatever you have planned for the month ahead.
It’s time, to be honest… the whole idea that this is the most “wonderful time of the year” is a bit overhyped. Don’t get us wrong, some things are wonderful about the holiday season, but once you get past all of the festivities, you realize that it’s a bit dark (literally and figuratively). After all, the weather outside? It’s frightful. Our collective holiday cheer? It’s likely left the building. The desire to get all dressed up? It’s likely to dissipate after the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve. Basically, the wintertime can be challenging, even for those who love this time of year.
It’s only natural then that we’d have to find ways to cultivate tiny pockets of joy—enter date night into the chat. As silly as it might seem, having something to look forward to in these colder months is a saving grace, even if said thing is as simple as a night out. With colder temperatures, it’s so easy to fall into a rut where you only binge-watch shows on Netflix (no shade), but we implore you to plan a date night! There’s no better way to beat your winter blues back than by slipping into a stylish outfit to spend the evening with your special someone.
But if you find the prospect of choosing what to wear for a date in the winter debilitating, don’t fret. Ahead, we’re sharing 24 winter date night outfit ideas from fashion people that will make putting together an elegant look effortlessly. Whether you’re dipping your toes back into the dating pool or need an excuse to get your partner off the couch, these looks will motivate you to get back out there despite the cold temperatures.
Sure, trousers and maxi skirts are having a major moment, but through it all, a great pair of jeans is always a constant in the closets of fashion people. In fact, many often style whole outfits around their favorite pairs of denim. And with so many great styles available at a variety of price points, it makes absolute sense. No matter the time of year, denim comes in handy. Jeans are easy to style and are a truly versatile piece that you can dress up or down depending on the occasion.
I recently took to the internet to hunt down the chicest pairs of jeans that the fashion set across the globe are reaching for this season—I can’t help but want every last pair. I could see by a quick scroll through Instagram and TikTok that there are some standout denim styles that are definitely top of mind for the It girls at the moment. One mainstay is the classic relaxed straight-leg. Keep scrolling to see 30 chic pairs of jeans that are guaranteed to make your outfits feel cool and current all year long.

Nicole Kidman has taken so many long-haul flights this year, that she’s practically ready to fly the plane! Although the jetsetting star might not be qualified to sit in the cockpit, one thing is for certain: she’s an ace when it comes to airport style.
Kidman was recently spotted hand in hand with husband Keith Urban after landing at Sydney International Airport. Splitting her time between her homeland and Hollywood, Kidman is frequently photographed fresh off of the airplane, and somehow, always manages to look fantastic in even the most simple of ensembles. Her latest look might just be the most basic yet, featuring a fitted white t-shirt, straight-leg denim, an off-white blazer, sneakers, sunglasses, and a chic woven black carryall tote. Pretty fresh for over 15 hours in the sky, right?
Whether or not you’re preparing to travel to another hemisphere this season, try stealing a few style tips from Kidman ahead of embarking on your next adventure. Keep scrolling to shop several pieces from Kidman’s A+ airport outfit at an array of price points. We’ll see you state-side.
Not just once, but twice in a single week, Kendall Jenner has been spotted wearing outerwear with cape-like details. Last week, during a shopping trip in West Hollywood, she wore a leather jacket with an attachable scarf from Phoebe Philo, styled with white jeans, a boxy bag, and kitten heels. Just a few days later, Jenner wore a wrapped leather trench coat that debuted on the Bottega Veneta S/S 24 runway with sheer tights and pumps. Other fashion insiders and celebs, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, have been spotted wearing the silhouette—solidifying it as a key outerwear trend to know for 2024.
Over the last few years, we have seen the rise of blanket coats with built-in scarves from brands including Toteme and Tove. The more heavily-draped, cape-like versions endorsed by Bottega Veneta and Phoebe Philo are pushing the trend forward and we’re already expecting it to be the #1 coat trend in 2024. Ahead, see how celebs are wearing the cape outerwear trend and shop pieces inspired by them.
Want to master the minimalist look, but afraid your outfits will veer too boring? Join the club. Pulling off a simple, streamlined outfit that turns heads without the use of prints, layers, or personality-infused accessories is quite the challenge. It’s amazing how some style savants have the formula down to a science, never missing a beat and always managing to appear effortlessly cool, even in jeans and a T-shirt.
What it actually comes down to is familiarizing yourself with proportions and the silhouettes that look good on your own body. When you invest in these well-made basics and take care of them, they’ll maintain their quality and you’ll feel confident mixing and matching them with your other refined pieces. The combinations you create won’t necessarily make for the loudest outfit in the room, but they’ll be admired for their luxurious sense of ease.
A few examples for starters? Slip into your favorite wide-leg pantsuit, but leave your chest bare from any jewelry and complete the outfit with white leather sneakers. Or throw on an oversize white tee with a floor-length maxi skirt, teaming up these two everyday separates for a monochrome moment. Finish with plain patent oxfords and a shiny shoulder bag, and leave your other eccentricities at home. In these instances, you’ll gain style points for the level of chic you reach without taking any sort of maximalist approach.
Ahead, find seven non-fussy outfits to try, and shop the essentials you’ll want to have on hand to recreate them.

It’s official: We’ve reached the point of the year when we watch the clock count down to the final moments of 2023. While some might be solely focused on what the future holds for them in the coming year, it’s not a bad idea to take a moment to reminisce. Sure, it’s more exciting to think about opening a new chapter in our lives—whether that looks like plans to travel more, adopt new trends, get back into a workout routine, or update your beauty regime. Being able to look back can also help us navigate how we want to move forward into the future, even if what we’re mulling over is something as “frivolous” as the fashion trends that defined the year. After all, there’s no better time capsule for what has happened in the culture than the trends that have found their way into our closets!
Our clothing can tell us everything we need to know about how things have changed over time; therefore, taking a moment to take stock is a worthwhile use of time in the last moments of the year. Of course, there are many things one can look back to as indicators of what happened this year (e.g., celebrity style, television shows, viral runway looks), but none in our minds quite encapsulate time like accessories. Hear us out. Not every trend can translate from the runway to our real lives, but bags? That’s a different story.
Although the influence of this accessory may seem small compared to the larger ready-to-wear trends, that’s far from the truth. On a grander scale, handbags have always acted as an entry point into the luxury space for many who might not always be able to access it otherwise. Plus, the shapes, sizes, and specs of trending bags speak to larger cultural sentiments of the time. It’s not a stretch to say that popular handbags carry more weight to them than one might think. To prove that point, we dug through the archives of spring/summer 2023 and fall/winter 2023 runway collections to identify the biggest handbag trends of the year. To ensure each trend carries the influence we claim, we cross-referenced them with street style imagery from Instagram to ensure that each of the seven trends listed is popular. Rest assured, you’ll see everyone carrying these bag trends for the rest of the winter.
Fans of Hailey Bieber‘s and Kendall Jenner’s style know the impact that stylist Dani Michelle has on the fashion world. Her clients, a list that also includes Nicola Peltz Beckham and Elsa Hosk, are guaranteed muses. And the latest addition, Bruna Marquezine, the Brazilian actress and model who’s currently taking up every spot on my 2024 mood board, is no exception.
“I am enchanted by [her] admiration and devotion to fashion,” Michelle told Elle Brasil of her new client. The duo started working together at the end of the summer, with Michelle’s first post of Marquezine arriving after the 2023 Variety Power of Young Hollywood event in August, for which she dressed the model in a Tory Burch dress and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. “She loves every stage of the art of dressing,” Michelle continued. “This makes our projects inspiring and creatively fulfilling.” Once you see the work they’ve done together since, you’ll understand what she’s talking about.
But while Michelle has no doubt brought about a heap of attention for Marquezine’s outfits since their working relationship began, she certainly didn’t turn the Blue Beetle star into a fashion icon. Marquezine did that all on her own, working with Chopard, Saint Laurent, Prada, and more, not to mention gracing the glossy pages of Marie Claire Brasil and Vogue Brasil.
From off-the-runway Bottega Veneta, Prada, and Ferragamo looks to party-ready ensembles by Alaïa and Defaïence, Marquezine is fast becoming one of fashion’s top names. Scroll down to see some of her chicest looks thus far, and keep an eye out for what’s in store for the model in 2024. My guess? You’ll be seeing a lot more of her fashion choices post–New Year’s Eve.
One of the most highly anticipated films of the season, Poor Things, opened this week with Emma Stone at its helm. We actually don’t get to see Emma Stone‘s outfits on a regular basis, so it’s always a treat when she’s promoting something. Stone has been out and about in NYC as of late, wearing a plethora of cool, trend-forward looks. One of those looks provided a styling tip that I recommend taking with you this season.
For a screening of Poor Things earlier this week, Stone wore a camel-colored Kenzo jacket and miniskirt with suede knee boots in a similar hue and a tan Louis Vuitton bag. Camel has long held the distinction of being the most expensive-looking color, but there’s another expensive-looking color trend in town: chocolate brown. Because two expensive-looking colors are better than one, Stone topped her camel outfit off with a toggle-button chocolate-brown coat. One look at this combination has motivated me to wear it ASAP, so in that spirit, scroll to shop an assortment of affordable camel and chocolate-brown pieces to mix and match.
Without a doubt, 2023 has been Sofia Richie’s year. Sure, she’s been in the spotlight for years, but ever since her wedding to Elliot Grainge in April, which took social media by storm, she—and her impeccable sense of style—have been the talk of the fashion world. In fact, we were lucky enough to have her as our Who What Wear cover star in August.
Richie’s elegant and timeless yet trend-forward aesthetic has had a major influence over what people wear since she rose to It-girl status in the spring, and that’s showing no signs of changing. From her Chanel-clad wedding to her off-duty looks consisting of Khaite and The Row (and more Chanel), Richie delivers one chic outfit after another. So needless to say, it was a challenge to narrow it down to her ten best outfits of the year, but narrow it down I did.
Scroll on to find out what I think are Richie’s top ten looks of the year (so far) and shop pieces inspired by her luxuriously cool style. (For the record, I didn’t include her wedding-day outfits in this ranking, as they kind of have an unfair advantage.)
In the last few years, I’ve had to rewire the entire part of my brain that’s dealt with colors, specifically, the art of combining them. Growing up, there were so many pairings that fashion made out to be undesirable if only because they clashed. Wearing them together was as much a sartorial sin as wearing white after Labor Day (another rule I’ve since thrown out). But nowadays, those once-forbidden combinations are the exact ones I’m drawn to most, from neutrals like brown and gray to bolder duets like purple and green.
Now that I’ve given up every last morsel of trained disdain for unexpected or clashing color pairings, I’m much more open to them, so when I see them on the runways or in my Instagram feed, I don’t look away but rather save them for later inspiration. I want to wear red with gold, brown, and gray, but I’m also not scared to style the trending color with even louder shades like pink. I embrace it, and so do fashion people all over the world, from Copenhagen to Paris. See for yourself by scrolling through the nine oddly satisfying color combinations that the style crowd wears on repeat.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Sofia Richie Grainge in the last year, it’s that she really can pull off any look. She went viral on TikTok for her quiet-luxury wedding looks, but at the same time, consistently shows off her ability to style neon, printed, and feather-embellished ensembles just as well as neutral, minimal ones. And her latest outfit is yet another example of her versatility and propensity to make really anything look elegant and chic.
On Tuesday, the Nudestix beauty director posted a slideshow on Instagram featuring a mirror selfie of one of her recent fall outfits. The look in question was a simple one, and yet, it proved just how advanced Richie Grainge’s style skills are. Why? Because it showed her making jeans, specifically very casual vintage straight-leg jeans, look equally as fancy as a pencil skirt, dress, or pair of slacks. I know, I know, she makes it seem so easy. But anyone who’s tried to get this outfit formula right knows that dressing up a pair of light-wash jeans is trickier than it looks.
Her trick lies in the pieces she paired with the ankle-length, mid-rise denim. Unlike a standard black blazer, Richie Grainge’s in the shot is a tuxedo-style silhouette with padded shoulders and large, satin lapels that instantly made her appear tenfold more formal. On her feet are simple black sling-backs with a not-too-high but not-too-low stiletto heel. Effortless and yet perfectly put together, the outfit is a true masterclass.
See the fancy AF way Sofia Richie Grainge styles her denim below and shop the uniform that looks amazing every single time.
