Leggings, Tees, Hoodies! 5 Outfits With Easy Staples That Are Runway-Approved

    [ad_1]

Wearable, anti-viral fashion was one of the most talked-about trends from the F/W 23 runway shows at fashion month. In short, a return to closet staples that are intended to be worn day to day, instead of the logo-heavy pieces and flashy designs that were prevalent in past seasons. Some of these wearable pieces included polished suiting and sleek separates, while another part included back to the basic staples such as leggings, hoodies, tank tops, and T-shirts—all styled in directional ways that make them look elevated and cool.

Miu Miu proved that the right layering can make legging and cardigan looks feel intentional, Bottega Veneta and Ferragamo ushered in fresh ways to style a simple tank top, and Gucci debuted the easy denim look that is primed to be in every fashion person’s arsenal. Ahead, see the five outfits with staples that are runway-approved and shop the pieces to start wearing them now.

Trust Me, This Is the Only Way the Fashion Crowd Is Wearing Shorts This Spring

    [ad_1]

Making shorts chic can be a daunting task. As temperatures rise in New York City, I’ve started to notice the choice way fashion people will be wearing shorts this warm-weather season, and length is key.

Looser, longline silhouettes are the best way to make your shorts feel elevated while also keeping them comfortable. Whether in lightweight linen, classic denim, or vegan leather, the options for these forgiving silhouettes are vast. For outfit inspo, I’ve chosen shorts ensembles from some of my favorite fashion people on the internet and, of course, shopped out their looks with sophisticated separates that will have you craving shorts season even more.

6 Quiet Luxury Outfits Fashion People Are Wearing In Paris

    [ad_1]

During fashion month, the streets of Paris were filled with style insiders attending the F/W 23 collections. There, they were wearing some of the new-in designer drops that are emerging for spring, and while we saw a number of fresh trends emerge, it was the low-key, quiet luxury outfits that were particularly noteworthy. On the runways, we’ve been seeing a rise in wearable fashion and a movement towards anti-viral pieces that are intended to be wore season after season, and that sentiment was echoed on the street style scene as well.

While wearability is central to the looks, so is a sense of quiet, easy luxury: Incognito bags in place of flashy logo styles, sleek leather belts recognizable only by their signature hardware, and pared-back designers shoes with timeless shapes that are intended to be worn season after season. The pieces have “if you know you know” quality, with details only the most astute fashion observers will recognize. Ahead, 6 quiet luxury outfits people are wearing in Paris to add to your closet.

The ascent of Taylor Russell is one many in Hollywood aspire to. The Canadian-born actress has been on the rise since starring in films like A24’s Waves and Escape Room in 2021, but it was with the 2022 Luca Guadagnino-directed film Bones and All that Russell officially arrived. The off-beat romantic horror (which co-stars Timothee Chalamet) received a 10-minute standing ovation at Cannes and won big at last year’s Venice Film Festival including a win for Russell for best young actor. And while Russell’s acting chops are drumming up enough buzz, the actress has opened up a whole new lane through her fashion.

A good press tour largely goes unnoticed, but a great one can make a star. By the end of Bones and All‘s festival circuit, Russell emerged as a one-to-watch It-girl, serving up hit after hit on the red carpet. Styled by Ryan Hastings, she donned a series of one-of-a-kind looks, including archival Alaia and Vivienne Westwood, along with a slew of couture looks from Schiaparelli. Needless to say, the fashion industry has taken notice: Harper’s Bazaar and W Magazine covers quickly followed. Bookending such a big year, the actress became a Global Ambassador for Loewe last November. “I’ve never been so inspired by someone. It was the start of a very special friendship and I just thought, she has to open the show. I’m so proud she agreed,” said Loewe Creative Director Jonathan Anderson of the appointment. If Anderson is obsessed with you, you’re definitely doing something right.

Russell’s sleek and cool-girl glamour has certainly generated some excitement over here, too. Below, see some of her pivotable red-carpet moments, along with 6 outfit ideas we’re unashamedly borrowing from the rising star.

  • I Wear a Blazer at Least Once a Week—17 Outfits on My Current Styling Mood Board

I Wear a Blazer at Least Once a Week—17 Outfits on My Current Styling Mood Board

    [ad_1]

It’s basically a rule that if you work in fashion, you have to wear blazersa lot. Whether you choose oversize ones or nipped-in ones, longline ones or cropped ones, it doesn’t much matter, as long as you have plenty of them stocked in your closet to throw on top of an outfit at any given moment. Of course, having a uniform like this can make life much easier. I’d know—I wore one for years in school and saved an abundance of time getting ready in the morning. It can, however, grow stale rather quickly.

That’s no reason to stop wearing the priority wardrobe staple. In fact, I probably will never quit my blazers. All it means is that you need to style them in interesting and ever-changing ways. That’s why I keep a mood board dedicated to blazers that I update every few weeks with new styling inspiration to ensure that my blazers never start to feel boring, no matter how often I wear them. Keep scrolling to see the 17 blazer outfits that are currently calling said mood board home.

  • Attending a Wine Tasting? Here’s What to Wear

Attending a Wine Tasting? Here’s What to Wear

    [ad_1]

For wine lovers, there’s always a good reason to go for a tasting, whether it’s for a special occasion like a date night or you’ve planned a day-long tour with friends. (Is it rosé season yet?) But with your visit planned, your last task is to figure out what to wear wine tasting, a question that’s maybe best answered by an expert.

We enlisted Magdalena Wojcik, owner of The Blending Lab in Los Angeles, to provide her expertise for the appropriate attire, whether you’re headed to a sun-filled day in the wine country or an evening at a tasting room, such as hers.

“When in wine country, I think of comfort and weather. I like to usually wear a dress. For shoes, comfort is essential. In spring and summer, I stick with sneakers—you never know where you’ll end up! Even in the winter, the sun is strong, so I never leave without a hat.” Wojcik also tells us that sunscreen is her top accessory at the winery.

If you’re opting for a tasting room in the city, there’s nothing like a cool military or moto jacket, according to Wojcik. “Urban wine tasting is a little bit different in my opinion, so I dress for the occasion.” A pair of jeans styled with a plain white tee allows you to be comfortable as you run around town but prepared for when the weather begins to cool down. “Tasting rooms are usually cold because of the wine, and a jacket ensures that you’re not cold when enjoying your wine tasting.” She also recommends comfortable flat shoes as you might not have a seat in the room.

Now, shop some of our favorite wine tasting outfit ideas that will impress just about anyone.

  • An Oldie-But-Goodie Wardrobe Staple Is Staging a Comeback—Here’s How to Wear It

An Oldie-But-Goodie Wardrobe Staple Is Staging a Comeback—Here’s How to Wear It

    [ad_1]

It’s true that fashion exists in one giant circle. Things that were deemed “over” just a few years ago are suddenly back in the spotlight, and trends that filled the industry’s collective consciousness only last year have quietly subsided into the background. Eventually, they all come around again for another moment in the sun, so once a trend fades, it’s usually a matter of when, not if, it will resurge among the masses. In the case of the denim skirt, that time is now.

This trend may give you flashbacks to images of Ashley Tisdale and Destiny’s Child in Von Dutch and cowboy hats, but the denim skirt has changed a bit since then. It hasn’t necessarily changed in its core shape or construction, but the main difference is in the way people are styling it in their daily uniforms.

Sure, you might think of the denim skirt as a summer staple, but there’s certainly a case to be made for its seasonless appeal. Paired with everything from over-the-knee boots and oversize blazers to cowboy boots and stylish vests, there are more than a few denim-skirt outfits that belong in your closet this season. We’re partial to adding lots of layers with bare legs or opting for a cropped, cool statement top. Really, the options are endless. Keep scrolling to see how everyone is styling the piece right now and to see the denim skirts we have on our shopping list.

20 Simple Spring Outfit Formulas Parisians Rely On to Look Chic

    [ad_1]

Hear that noise? It’s the clock counting down the days until the official start of spring. With a new season on the horizon, there’s so much to be excited about—warmer temperatures, fresh trends, the prospect of spring travel; the list goes on and on. I’d be lying if I didn’t say there was one specific thing I’m looking forward to most; a chance to update my wardrobe. I’ve been feeling fatigued when choosing what to wear for this last stretch of winter, and I’m guessing that if you’re reading this, you are tired too. We all want to ditch a few layers, but it’s not always straightforward.

A shift into a new season, especially spring, requires some work—you’re weighing which pieces are worth investing in and dealing with transitional weather. It’s a delicate balancing act that can be, at times, overwhelming. So, where does one turn to for a blueprint to make sound sartorial decisions? The French, obviously. While I’m a proponent believer that great outfit ideas can come from anywhere, I know that no one does it like the French (blame their innate je ne sais quoi). It’s only natural then that I’d turn to the Parisian fashion set as a guidepost for changing my closet for the new season.

Ahead, you’ll find 20 simple spring outfits that are simple enough to copy and paste into any wardrobe, no matter where you live. Plus, the key pieces you’ll need to recreate the looks yourself. Consider this your one-stop shop for being à la mode this spring.

This Not-So-Subtle Shoe Trend Has Officially Gone Viral—25 Ways to Style It

    [ad_1]

Have you ever been scrolling through social media and suddenly realized that everyone on your timeline is wearing the same trend? In this day and age, it’s a given that trends blow up on TikTok overnight. And while it’s my job to keep up, something will sneak up on me every now and again, and I won’t see it coming. Such is the case with the rise of one specific trend: metallic shoes.

I should preface this by saying that, on an intellectual level, I was cognizant of the prevalence of metallics in fall/winter 2022 collections. But, by no means did I think this shoe style would go viral—at most, I thought it would be a niche micro trend only worn by a few brave souls (boy, I was wrong). Since their debut last season, they’ve not had continued prevalence in S/S 23, but they’ve strutted off the runway and into major city streets. And while it’s not hard to miss the rise in popularity this footwear has had (because they’re so shiny), it might be hard to get why.

So, in an effort to explain the phenomenon, I’ve done some research to show this footwear’s resurgence on the runway. Plus, I’ve found outfit ideas to show how to wear metallic shoes. Put on your sunglasses because things are about to get bright.
