  • ‘90s Fashion Icon Anna Sui Is Tapped For Old Navy’s First-Ever Designer Collab

Calling all fashion lovers because the nineties… and seventies… and sixties called, and they want to be back inside your closets. Luckily, New York-based fashion designer Anna Sui was tapped by Old Navy for its first-ever designer collaboration — fronted by Y2K-coded singer-songwriter PinkPantheress.

“Anna really understands who our customer is, what she wants, how she lives, and we knew this was an amazing moment to bring that,” Zac Posen, creative director of Gap Inc. and chief creative officer of Old Navy, tells Refinery29. “Anna is a design and style icon, and I thought to bring that to another nineties icon, Old Navy, made perfect sense to launch this.”

Known for “her whimsy, her magic, her cool, and her rock ‘n’ roll energy,” in the words of Posen, Sui’s Almost Famous Penny Lane-meets-witchy Stevie Nicks aesthetic is on full display with this “Bohemian collection.” Think: faux fur Afghan coats (aka Penny Lane coats), lace cardigans, floral dusters, and satin slip skirts (one of Sui’s favorite styles),

But we’re not just swooning over the styles… we’re also thrilled about the prices. “There’s a lot of Anna Sui DNA incorporated into this collection, but made with the expertise of Old Navy, and into very accessible, affordable pieces,” Sui tells Refinery29 about the collection, which ranges between a $10 floral headscarf and $120 vegan suede coat.

  • Looks For Less: Get Hailey Bieber’s Style On A Budget

Looks For Less: Get Hailey Bieber’s Style On A Budget

    New mother
Hailey Bieber has been the ultimate influencer for just about everyone on the planet. She’s dictated trends like chrome nails, glazed donut skin (thanks, rhode), and even hair color. And if Hailey Bieber uses Kosas concealer, so do we.

Not only does she make a product look easy to use, she’s also a supermodel who knows trends
before the public does. Listening to Hailey Bieber expound about trends is the smart thing to do.

But one thing I am confident about is the fact that I cannot afford
Hailey Bieber’s entire wardrobe. Yes, she may be the inspiration for our capsule closets and obsession with basics…she’s also a multi-millionaire. And I, sadly, am not.

That’s not going to stop me from aspiring to a supermodel-caliber closet on a regular salary. In fact, since
Hailey celebrates the basics so much, it actually makes her style affordable to recreate. No one can tell if Hailey’s tee is Prada and mine is H&M…

If you’re going to emulate a celebrity’s style, it’s key to invest in pieces where quality makes a visible difference like leather jackets or dresses. But ultimately, we’re looking to shop smarter and save money.

Hailey Bieber has iconic outfits that we all can easily achieve, so let’s look into how to get her look for less!

    Hailey’s All White Moment

Hailey is blessed. Even while pregnant with son, Jack Blues Bieber, she can wear regular-sized clothing. But what I especially like about this outfit is that it works for multiple occasions and looks terrific on all body types.

Here are some great options for a similar Hailey-inspired look:

And, of course, there’s the bag. A Birkin knockoff by YSL is awesome, but even then, still too pricey. Luckily enough, the market’s glutted with Birkin dupes that are more affordable.

    An Easy Fall Trench Look

Honestly, this is such a fantastic look that’s easily put together with essential items already in your closet: a white tank, trousers, and trench coat. What Hailey does best is make basic look thrilling. And an easily achievable look.

Plus, a trench coat is a necessity when it comes to fall weather. It’s one of the most underrated outerwear pieces for the fashion lover. A trench coat and heels says corporate, it gives off an official vibe that I love.

If you want this ensemble, here are a few close-to-identical pieces:

    A Staple Oversized Leather Jacket

Now that we’re suddenly transitioning into fall weather, we need to start thinking about cold weather pieces. If there’s one thing that is
very Hailey Bieber, it’s an oversized leather jacket.

She’s constantly photographed with a big leather Balenciaga bomber jacket — upwards of $6,000. So while we can’t afford Hailey’s iconic leather jacket — that she wears with everything — we
    can replicate.

These are my favorite leather bombers that are inspired by Hailey:

    A Sassy Fur Coat

If you’re partial to the mob wife aesthetic, this one’s for you. When Mrs. Bieber donned this YSL faux fur jacket with a pair of jeans, red pumps, and sunnies, we knew this would be a style inspo pic for many.

Nothing makes you feel sassier than a fur coat. When I wear one, I seriously feel like a runway model hiding secrets in my jacket. Drape it over a dress for added warmth this winter, with leather leggings, or even jeans like HB.

Here are some of my favorite oversized fur coats:

    A Simple Black Dress

We all love a little black dress. But again, the weather is transitional right now. Great for date night, or dinner with your friends, or just a special occasion in general. I love this dress on Hailey because she lets her accessories do the talking.

Whether you choose to style it with simple jewelry and a chic up-do, or colorful heels and matching bag, with a simple black dress like Hailey’s Bottega Veneta dress you cannot go wrong.

Again, a $2,900 dress isn’t the ideal price tag, I’ve found a few similar looks for far less:

    And A Fun Red Dress

Holiday Season calls for a red dress…I know it, you know it. So let’s get it out of the way early! Have one on deck so you don’t have to stress about it come December.

What amazing about this Hailey look is that she really commits to the all red. Red pumps, red lip, red strawberry earrings, and of course…the red dress.

This Ermanno Scervino Fall 2023 dress is, of course, far beyond our price range. But something like it is certainly achievable. Just look for a structured empire waist and tight bodice on your strapless dress.

Here are a few similar options if you want the Bieber look:

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you’ll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

Whether you’re a longstanding member of “team bralette,” or you simply can’t remember the last time you wore a bra, there’s no denying that soft, wireless styles are a top choice comfort-wise. Beyond their cozy appeal, bralettes can look so stylish that you might be tempted to wear one publicly. Picture donning one beneath a chic blazer like Emily Ratajkowski or pairing it with your go-to oversized sweatpants for a stylish yet comfy vibe at home. You could even let a lacy bralette peek out from a sheer or low-cut shirt or make a longer cotton bralette double as a top with joggers.

No matter how you style them, bralettes fuse comfort and style, making it hard not to fall in love with them. One of our favorite places to shop for them is Old Navy. The retailer has so many different styles to choose from, including a variety of colors and prints, lengths, necklines, and many more unique features — all at reasonable prices. To prove it, we’ve rounded up the best bralettes from Old Navy for 2023 so you can choose which suits your style best.

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you’ll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

As a mom who works remotely, I’ve come to terms with the fact that joggers and sneakers have replaced blazers, delicate blouses, and heeled boots as my daily uniform. While comfort and convenience are the guiding forces behind most of my fashion choices these days, I still love pulling together an outfit. Monochromatic sweatsuits are wardrobe gold for me. They’re comfortable, polished, and endlessly versatile, and I’m never not keeping an eye out for a new one in a color I’m missing. Last year, I snagged a couple of wide-leg sweatpants with matching crewneck sweatshirts from the GAP that look sharp but feel like pajamas. This year, I found a similar pairing at Old Navy for nearly half the price. Old Navy’s High-Waisted Dynamic Fleece Wide-Leg Trouser Pants ($31, originally $45) and Vintage Crewneck Sweatshirt ($24, originally $35) are a match made in sweatsuit heaven, and I know I’ll be wearing them on repeat all season.

    Main ImageMain Image
    Main ImageMain Image

What I Like About Old Navy’s Fleece Wide-Leg Trouser Pants and Vintage Crewneck Sweatshirt

Let’s start with the fleece trouser pants. The high-waisted, wide-leg cut creates a flattering silhouette you can easily pair with a cute sweater, like my favorite Polo Sweater from Old Navy, for a slightly dressier look. The seamed legs and slits on the hem of the pants add to the trouser aesthetic. In black, it’s almost hard to tell they’re sweats, but the soft texture has an unmistakable fleece feel. They have pockets at the hip that are lined with a ventilated sports fabric. They’re not too thick or heavy but still feel comfortable on a chilly day.

The sweatshirt has a vintage vibe, with its slightly cropped length, crewneck, and soft-washed fleece that feels like a well-loved T-shirt. I like that it hits the top of my hip and is relaxed without looking sloppy. The length is perfect for wearing with high-waisted jeans, or in this case, high-waisted sweatpants in the same color. I like to tuck just a few inches of the front of the sweatshirt into my pants to create more of a defined waist.

    POPSUGAR Photography | Angela Elias

What’s Worth Noting About Old Navy’s Fleece Wide-Leg Trouser Pants and Vintage Crewneck Sweatshirt

The sweatshirt is lined with the sort of soft material you’d hope to have in a fleece sweatshirt, so it’s really cozy and comfortable. The fleece trouser pants look the same on the outside as the sweatshirt, but they don’t have the same soft lining. They feel more similar to thick leggings rather than cozy sweatpants with soft, fleece lining. They’re still comfortable and softer than jeans, but don’t have the plush feel you’d expect from traditional fleece sweatpants. This is the biggest difference I noticed from GAP’s wide-leg sweatpants, which look the same but feel more like the sweatshirt.

    POPSUGAR Photography | Angela Elias

Who Is Old Navy’s Fleece Wide-Leg Trouser Pants and Vintage Crewneck Sweatshirt Best For?

The sweatshirt and fleece trousers are perfect for someone who gravitates towards wide-leg styles of pants and wants a more polished version of a monochromatic sweatsuit. If you’re also on a budget and don’t want to spend a ton of money on loungewear, these pieces are definitely worth trying.

Both the sweatshirt and fleece trousers come in several colors, but black is the only option if you want the top and bottom to match for a sweatsuit vibe. If that’s not as important to you, you can experiment with pairing the fleece trousers with all sorts of tops, from distressed denim jackets to collared button ups and plaid shackets.

    Additional Details

    • The sweatshirt is made of 90 percent cotton and 10 percent polyester.
    • The fleece trousers are made of 69 percent cotton, 26 percent polyester and five percent spandex.
    • The pants come in six colors and the sweatshirt comes in six colors, but the only color in common is black.

  • This $55 Old Navy Cardigan Rekindled My Love of Color

This $55 Old Navy Cardigan Rekindled My Love of Color

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you’ll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

For a long time — namely, when I lived in New York City — I wore almost exclusively black-colored clothing (yes, I embraced the cliché). Special event? Black dress. Casual weekend activity? Black T-shirt. I was completely wrapped up in the neutral trend, steering clear of vibrant hues and, thus, constantly gravitating towards a beige, white, and black palette. While this monochromatic safety zone has its comfort, it has grown mundane. On social media, I’ve noticed more content creators embracing vibrant colors, and consequently, I’m starting to develop a soft spot for color. This unsolicited bout of self-reflection leads me to my latest Old Navy purchase, straight from the brand’s new arrivals section: the Full-Zip Cardigan Sweater ($55). I’ll admit that I initially considered ordering it in black but forced myself to click on the rich green color instead — and I’m glad I did. Read on for what I love about the cozy collared sweater and what’s worth noting before you make it yours, too.

    Main Image

Surprisingly, my favorite aspect of the Old Navy Full-Zip Cardigan Sweater is its vibrant green color. It’s undeniably bold yet mood-lifting, a refreshing departure from my usual neutral palette obsession. I’m equally obsessed with the full-zip front and the spread collar, two features that make it more practical for layering and elevate its appearance, respectively. One savvy shopper who awarded it five stars coined it a “swacket,” or more of a fusion of a sweater and a jacket than a cardigan. I often reach for it during work hours when I feel like throwing on something cozy or stepping out to walk my dog when it’s chilly.

When looking at this sweater in the photos, the material appeared to resemble thick cotton, like that commonly found in high-quality vintage-thrift-store finds. However, in reality, it is lightweight, unstructured, and soft to the touch, made of a blend of polyester and nylon. My only concern with this sweater is its tendency to pill. Despite having worn it only a few times, I’ve already seen signs of pilling, a sentiment shared by other shoppers, too. A reviewer who gave it a three-star rating wrote: “I fell in love with the color of this sweater. However, I’m less enamored with the quality and shape. The material (polyester and nylon) is scratchy and prone to pilling after only one day of wear.” While I’d personally rate it four stars overall, I recommend being gentle with it and diligently following the brand’s care instructions to ensure it stays as pill-free as possible.

    • The Old Navy Full-Zip Cardigan Sweater comes in three colors: black, hot pink, and green.
    • It comes in sizes XS–4X and is also available in extended tall and petite sizes.
    • To wash and care for it, the brand recommends machine-washing it on a cold, gentle cycle and laying it flat to dry.

This $60 Old Navy Coat Is the Answer to Unpredictable Fall Weather

As POPSUGAR editors, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you’ll like too. If you buy a product we have recommended, we may receive affiliate commission, which in turn supports our work.

I’ve only lived in the Midwest for two years, but it’s become a key facet of my personality, namely because of its wild weather. While we’re likely still a few weeks out from brutally cold temps (or at least I hope), right now, the conditions remain unpredictable. Mornings call for a coat or jacket, but in the afternoon, wearing one sometimes feels unnecessary, and if you run warm like me, you’ll understand what I mean when I compare it to an unprecedented sauna session. That said, it’s safe to say that getting dressed is a challenge at this time of year, especially for someone like me who loves to layer. Fortunately, I found a solution — and it’s chic. Enter the Old Navy Long-Line Cardigan Coat ($60), the lightweight solution to my temperamental weather woes. Ahead, I dive into why I love it and what to know before you buy it.

    Main Image

I love the sophisticated silhouette of the Old Navy Long-Line Cardigan Coat. The shawl collar, in my opinion, elevates its appearance and adds to its allure. When I discovered it in the brand’s new arrivals section, I couldn’t resist adding it to my virtual shopping cart, especially since similar styles elsewhere cost at least double the price. I opted for the beige version named “Camel” in my usual size medium and tested it mere hours after it arrived on my doorstep. While I initially fell in love with its look on the computer screen, I discovered even more to appreciate in real life. To begin with, it’s lightweight, making it an excellent layering piece perfect for the transition from summer to fall and unpredictable autumn weather. Its two deep horizontal pockets are spacious enough to accommodate a smartphone and other essentials, and the shawl neckline looks just as sleek as I had imagined. I styled it with a black turtleneck and wide-leg jeans.

There are a few noteworthy aspects to consider about this cardigan coat. Firstly, it boasts a relaxed fit, which hasn’t resonated with everyone. Some shoppers have expressed a preference for a more fitted design, although it’s important to note that this coat is intentionally designed as a relaxed silhouette. Another point to highlight is its thin material, which surprised not only me but also several other Old Navy shoppers. Being unlined contributes to its unstructured and casual aesthetic; however, this makes it less suitable for colder temperatures. While I find it great for those seeking a light layer to combat mild chilliness, it’s understandable how some shoppers might have anticipated it to offer a bit more warmth.

The Old Navy Long-Line Cardigan Coat is best for for those like me in search of a timeless fall outerwear piece. In my experience, it offered the right amount of warmth for chilly fall mornings without causing excessive sweating later in the day.

    • The Old Navy Long-Line Cardigan Coat comes in sizes XS-4X and is also available in extended tall and petite sizes.
    • It comes in three colors: camel, black, and a greyish-green.
    • It’s made from 100 percent polyester.
    • For optimal care and maintenance, the brand recommends exclusively dry cleaning it.

If you’ve been on TikTok in the past year, you know that the fashion-savvy have swapped skinny jeans for the endlessly flattering flare. Flared, baggy, and boot-cut bottoms all evoke a certain vintage vibe, like Y2K leisure wear, ’70s flower child, and ’90s American classic. A common misconception about flare pants, though, is that they only come in the form of billowing bell bottoms. But there are actually tons of different ways to wear the style, and Old Navy has an amazing selection — not like that surprises you, right?

Whether you’re a work-from-homer looking to level up your loungewear collection with flared leggings, an professional seeking a pair of polished flared trousers, or someone searching for a casual-cool pair of flared jeans for every occasion, there’s no doubt that the brand has you covered. To prove it, we rounded up 15 pairs that need to be on your radar, including the aforementioned styles and more, including corduroys, velvet options, and so much more. Keep reading to check out our 15 favorite flared pants from Old Navy in 2023.

The 5 Best Old Navy Jeans, According to Editors

Old Navy Extra High-Waisted Trouser Wide-Leg Jeans ($38, originally $55)

If you love wide-leg jeans, let us introduce you to your perfect match. These are extra high-waisted, so they sit just above the belly button, but a touch of spandex in the fabric keeps them stretchy and comfy. The front patch pockets and darted details on the legs mimic the look of trousers, so they can be dressed up or down. For more, check out our complete review of the Old Navy Extra High-Waisted Trouser Wide-Leg Jeans.

Editor Quote: “The extra-high waistline is flattering and supportive without feeling constrictive. The pants are lightweight, soft, and stretchy, so I can move freely and feel comfortable, even when I’m crouching down, sitting for long periods, or running around with my kids at the park. They look amazing with cropped sweatshirts and boxy sweaters, and I can reach up or bend over without exposing my belly button or backside. Freedom!” — Angela Elias, contributing editor, Commerce

Most people associate fall fashion with cozy sweaters and denim jeans, but there are plenty of ways to wear dresses during the colder months. Hear us out: Breezy dresses are ideal for those unpredictable days in September when it’s chilly in the morning but warm and sunny in the afternoon. (You’ll look great and you won’t have to worry about sweating through your clothes by lunchtime.) And as the season progresses and temperatures stay cool throughout the day, you can easily transition to your favorite maxi dress by pairing it with tights and chic knee-high boots, topped with a stylish coat.

But the dress options don’t end with maxis. Nothing’s stopping you from wearing midi dresses over turtlenecks and minidresses under oversized denim jackets. And with all the fabulous dresses available at Old Navy right now, you’re bound to want one of every length. Ahead, we’ve compiled 10 of our favorites to consider adding to your fall wardrobe, including options in autumnal prints and colors, like foliage-inspired reds, browns, and greens, and in every length: minis, midis, and maxis. Slipping into a soft, chunky-knit sweater is one of those cold-weather comforts I look forward to the minute summer is over. Whether it’s a cozy turtleneck, a cardigan for layering, or a pullover sweater, I’m always drawn to slightly oversize versions with a relaxed fit. The closer it feels to wearing a blanket, the better! I’ve been looking for a chunky collared sweater that won’t overwhelm my frame or make me itch, and I’ve finally found it. Old Navy’s Polo Sweater ($29, originally $50) is so perfect, I’m eyeing the dark green (hello, holiday gatherings!) and black versions to wear with my favorite jeans and boots all season.

What I Like About Old Navy’s Polo Sweater

With its dropped shoulders and loose fit, this sweater is oversize coziness at its best but still manages to be flattering with its V neck, fashionable collar, and cuff sleeves. I like to tuck in the front to control the volume and keep it from looking sloppy. The material is a cotton-blend yarn that’s so soft, you might find yourself absent-mindedly petting your arm. It’s also sensitive-skin friendly, so you won’t be tempted to scratch or constantly sneeze with loose fibers floating and shedding everywhere. It’s on the thicker side, so it will keep you toasty on chilly days, but you can still layer it under a coat.

What’s Worth Noting About Old Navy’s Polo Sweater

I got my usual size medium and didn’t need to size up to get the loose fit I was going for. If you want a little less volume, you could get away with sizing down without it feeling too snug. It hits right at the hips, which also helps the looser fit from looking too big. You’ll want to wash it on a cold, gentle cycle and lay flat to dry.

Who Is Old Navy’s Polo Sweater Best For?

This piece is perfect for anyone who wants a soft and comfortable sweater that can be dressed up with jeans and boots or paired with joggers and sneakers. Since it’s warm and thick, it’s best for chilly weather. It is a bit too chunky to layer under a blazer or leather jacket and works better under a roomier coat.

    Additional Details

    • It’s made with a cotton-blend yarn and 36 percent recycled polyester.
    • It comes in three colors, including black and dark green.
    • It should be washed in cold water on a gentle cycle and laid flat to dry.

Sweaters are a section of our wardrobes that we find hard to edit. Chunky and oversize! Classic cashmere cuts! Slim-fitting turtlenecks for layering! Sweater fatigue isn’t a thing in our book; we live for “sweater weather” season, and we’re firm believers that knits are acceptable year-round. Think classy crewnecks and chic cardigans tossed over our shoulders or paired with slim-strap clothes in spring and airy open-weaves with shorts or swimwear in the summer.

We get equally excited about sweater trends and one knitwear movement at the top of our lists as of late is the collared-sweater fad. Old Navy has an extensive collection, ranging from half-zips to polos, each exuding nostalgic, preppy-adjacent charm. These sweaters come in various colors, weights, and silhouettes, and in true Old Navy fashion, they are reasonably priced. Whether paired with wide-leg trousers for a polished-cool look, activewear leggings for a sporty vibe, or leather pants and heels for a night-out ensemble, the styling possibilities are endless. The collared-sweater trend leaves no room for fashion missteps, so, without further ado, explore and shop our 10 favorite collared sweaters from Old Navy.

Now that I’m starting to move my skirts, shorts, and sundresses to make room in my tiny closet for trousers, joggers, and denim, I’m looking for new fall and winter pieces I know I’ll wear on repeat. I’ve been on a wide-leg denim kick, with these Old Navy jeans I purchased last year in high rotation. Their vintage cut, thick material, and subtle distressing rivals designer versions, but the high waist and the stretch-free material aren’t the most comfortable combination. I began looking for a cozier version to reach for when I am tempted by sweats but still want to look polished. Old Navy’s Extra High-Waisted Trouser Wide-Leg Jeans ($38, originally $55) check all the boxes and are already turning out to be my new favorite pair of jeans.

The front pockets give the pants a retro sailor feel, so they’re adorable with a striped shirt, obviously. They have a darted back, mimicking a trouser-style pant, which elevates their overall look.

What’s Worth Noting About Old Navy’s Extra High-Waisted Trouser Wide-Leg Jeans

These jeans come in light, medium, and dark washes. I opted for the medium wash, which is still a darker blue but with more color variation and slight distressing. While I’m usually a size six, these pants run a bit large, so I opted for a size four and they fit perfectly. The material includes a little spandex, which helps the smaller size to fit so well.

Who Is Old Navy’s Extra High-Waisted Trouser Wide-Leg Jeans Best For?

These jeans are great for anyone who is searching for a pair of extra-high-waisted jeans but is worried about them digging into their waist. The wide-leg cut feels on trend while the extra-high waist gives them a ’70s vibe — a perfect pairing for anyone who is drawn to a vintage aesthetic but still wants a pair of jeans that feel fresh and current.

    POPSUGAR Photography | Angela Elias

    Additional Details

    • The extra-high waist is one inch higher than Old Navy’s standard high rise, so they sit above the belly button.
    • They’re made from 94 percent cotton, five percent recycled cotton, and one percent spandex.
    • You’ll want to machine-wash these on cold and tumble-dry on a low heat setting.
