Scientists Discover Male Humpback Whales Having Gay Sex | High Times

    [ad_1]

Two male Humpback whales were recently recorded having a homosexual encounter in the wild off the coast of Maui.

According to a new study by the Pacific Whale Foundation published in Marine Mammal Science, humpback whales have been studied extensively but documented instances of reproductive actions have been exceedingly rare. That is until some photographers – Lyle Krannichfeld and Brandi Romano – caught two male humpbacks engaging in sexual contact right below their boat 2 kilometers west of the Molokini crater off the coast of Maui on January 19, 2022.

They sent their photos to scientists who recently confirmed in a peer-reviewed study that the photos were confirmed to be one of very few documented instances of humpback penis extrusion and the very first documented instance of homosexual interactions between humpbacks.

“The sighting occurred when individuals aboard a private stationary vessel, located approximately two km west of the Molokini crater, saw two humpback whales approaching their boat. One whale was visibly thin and covered in whale lice, displaying signs of poor health and drawing the attention of the photographers,” said the Pacific Whale Foundation on their website. “During the encounter, a second whale engaged in an unexpected behavior—repeatedly approaching the first whale, using its pectoral fins to hold the injured whale in place, and initiating shallow, brief penetrations.”

The whales in question reportedly circled the photographers’ boat for a while, giving them ample opportunity to take their NSFWW (not suitable for whale workplace) photos. Scientists with the Pacific Whale Foundation hypothesized that since one of the whales seemed to be having health issues, this may have contributed to the behavior for whatever reason.

“The two whales circled the boat numerous times, allowing Krannichfeld and Romano the opportunity to carefully document the event by holding their cameras over the side of the stationary vessel (note: it is illegal to swim with or approach humpback whales within 100 yards in Hawaii and the vessel remained in neutral as the whales approached),” the Pacific Whale Foundation said. “The health disparity between the two whales adds a layer of complexity to this unique observation. One whale’s poor condition, possibly caused by a ship strike, may have contributed to the observed behavior.”

The sexual encounter between the whales reportedly took place when one of the whales extruded its penis and penetrated the genital opening of the other whale. The penetrations lasted about two minutes at a time, according to the study, and lasted for about a half hour. When the encounter was over, the whale doing the penetrating took off right away (typical) and the sick whale hung out for a few minutes until swimming away as well.

“Upon reviewing the photographs, it was noticed that Whale A had a significant jaw injury, that likely impaired normal feeding behavior,” the study said. “It was also observed that Whale B had its penis extruded throughout the entire encounter and, at times, would penetrate the genital opening of Whale A, using its pectoral fins to hold Whale A.”

The study said that male humpback whale penis extrusions have been documented in the presence of other male humpbacks, but that this is the first time penetration has been documented. It has been previously theorized that the penis extrusions were acts of aggression towards the other males while competing for females during mating season.

Homosexual behavior is not particularly uncommon among members of the animal kingdom. It has been documented in dolphins, orcas, seals, walruses and several of my neighbors’ dogs. An entire book called Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity was published about the topic in 1999.

“The world is, indeed, teeming with homosexual, bisexual, and transgendered creatures of every stripe and feather. From the Southeastern Blueberry Bee of the United States to more than 130 different bird species worldwide, the ‘birds and the bees,’ literally are queer,” the book said. “On every continent, animals of the same sex seek each other out and have probably been doing so for millions of years. They court each other, using intricate and beautiful mating dances that are the result of eons of evolution.”

The stand-up comedian shocked fans last week after she took the stage at the Hollywood Improv in El Lay and without hesitation, stripped free from her shirt for the whole crowd to see! In footage obtained by TMZ on Sunday, after being introduced by fellow stand-up comedian Bert Kreischer — who’s made a name for himself because of his own shirtless performances — she nonchalantly strolled up to the mic in a furry white coat, white t-shirt, and blue overalls. She danced as she slid off her jacket and unfastened her overalls before ripping off her shirt to expose her bare breasts — all while Still D.R.E. by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg played!

  • Twitch's new nudity policy allows illustrated nipples, but not human underboob | TechCrunch

Twitch's new nudity policy allows illustrated nipples, but not human underboob | TechCrunch

    [ad_1]

Twitch announced sweeping updates to its sexual content policy and content classification system, which now allows previously prohibited content like illustrated nipples and “erotic dances,” in addition to clarifying what nudity is and isn’t allowed on the platform.

The update follows the widespread “topless meta” backlash, after streamer and OnlyFans model Morgpie went viral for appearing naked in recent streams. Morgpie’s “topless” streams were framed to show her bare shoulders, upper chest, and cleavage. The framing implied nudity, but never actually showed content that explicitly violated Twitch’s sexual content policies. Other streamers, who were predominantly male, were enraged by Morgpie’s content and called for Twitch to crack down on the apparent nudity. She was banned on Dec. 11, two days before Twitch’s content guideline overhaul. Jessica Ly, a streamer who also goes by asianbunnyx, has made similar content without being banned.

The new policy is meticulously detailed and accounts for various situations, but also appears to contradict itself. Cartoon boobs, for example, are only allowed in certain contexts.

“Fictionalized” — drawings, animations or sculpted renderings — of fully-exposed breasts and any butts or genitals regardless of gender are fine, but “augmented reality avatars that translate real-life movement into digital characters” (read: VTubers) must abide by the same attire requirements as regular streamers. Actual female-presenting human nipples must be covered. Cleavage is still “unrestricted.” Showing “underbust” is still forbidden.

Twitch’s stance on sideboob remains unclear.

A spokesperson for Twitch told TechCrunch that the platform has been overhauling its content moderation for the past year, and has focused on updating its community guidelines in response to feedback from streamers. By clarifying what is and isn’t allowed, Twitch believes that it’ll be easier for streamers to comply with its policies. The spokesperson also noted that the platform is still experimenting with nuance and context, and rather than lean on punitive content moderation, Twitch wants users to be informed.

The update is supposed to streamline the platform’s approach to sexual content and modernize its previous policies, which disproportionately penalized female streamers. Twitch previously enforced separate policies for “sexually suggestive” and “sexually explicit” content, adding to the confusion. Those will now be consolidated into a single “Sexual Content Policy.” The company’s Content Classification Guidelines (CCLs), which rolled out in June, also now detail when streamers should label their content for “Sexual Themes.”

“We believe that accurate content labeling is key to helping viewers get the experience they expect, and now that we can enable appropriate labeling of sexual content using CCLS we believe that some of the restrictions in our former policies are no longer required,” Twitch said in its blog post about the update. “In addition to providing clarity, these updates will also reduce the risk of inconsistent enforcement and bring our policy more in line with other social media services.”

Under the new policy, streams tagged for “drugs, intoxication or excessive tobacco use,” “violent and graphic depictions,” “gambling” and “sexual themes” won’t be promoted on Twitch’s homepage recommendations, but will allow for more raunchy content that previously wasn’t allowed on the platform. This approach, Twitch said in its blog post, will prevent viewers from seeing content that they haven’t consented to seeing. Viewers will still be able to navigate directly to the channels streaming such content, though. Streams tagged for mature games and profanity can still be included in homepage recommendations.

Twitch did not immediately respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment about whether labeling their streams as containing such content will affect streamers’ ad revenue.

If properly labeled, content that was previously banned on the platform is now allowed, like artistic depictions of breast, butts and genitals. The puritanical restrictions on suggestive illustrations became a point of contention for Twitch’s art community, which Twitch acknowledged in its blog post. “Erotic dances,” like strip teases, twerking, grinding and pole dancing are also fine to stream, as long as it’s labeled. Streaming from a strip club or other “adult entertainment establishment” is still prohibited.

The updates appear to respond to longstanding community complaints over the disproportionate moderation that female streamers faced on Twitch. The company attempted to crack down on lewd and sexually explicit streams by enacting a dress code in 2018, which stated that streamer attire should be “appropriate for a public street, mall, or restaurant.” The platform updated its attire policy in 2020 with specific guidelines clarifying that streamers could show cleavage, but not nipples or underboob.

Although wildly popular hot tub streams were allowed under the guidelines, as long as streamers wore swimsuits, the attire policy still targeted women for wearing anything that could be interpreted as suggestive. Countless female streamers have been subjected to suspensions and outright bans over viewers mass-reporting them for inappropriate attire, and many have complained that the platform’s policy was wielded as a form of misogynistic, targeted harassment.

Twitch previously prohibited streams that “deliberately highlighted breasts, buttocks or pelvic region,” even if streamers were fully clothed. The parameters for such content were vague and inconsistently enforced. It’s now allowed — as long as it’

“Streamers found it difficult to determine what was prohibited and what was allowed and often evaluating whether or not a stream violated this portion of the policy was subjective,” Twitch said in its announcement. “In addition, the former Sexually Suggestive Content policy was out of line with industry standards and resulted in female-presenting streamers being disproportionately penalized.”

In its Sexual Content Policy, Twitch notes that the attire allowed on the platform depends on the context of individual streams. An outfit that’s permitted for a beach or gym stream, Twitch said in its Community Guidelines, may “not be acceptable for a cooking or gameplay broadcast.” The company also said that attired “intended to be sexually suggestive” is still prohibited, which seems like it could still disproportionately affect female streamers who can be sexualized by viewers no matter what they wear.

Morgpie, who is still banned, praised Twitch’s update in a statement to Dexerto.

“With the updated terms of service, content on Twitch containing mature themes will be allowed but no longer pushed on the homepage of the site,” she said. “I think this is the best possible outcome, because it gives creators much more freedom, while also keeping this content from reaching the wrong audience. Bravo, Twitch!”

  • Instagram’s New AI Stickers Are a Lewd, Controversial Mess

Instagram’s New AI Stickers Are a Lewd, Controversial Mess

    [ad_1]

Late last month, Meta (the company formerly known as Facebook) introduced AI stickers for Instagram. Want to quickly generate a couple quirky emoji for your message with your girlfriend? Just turn to AI stickers and pick your favorite computer-generated image!

However, Instagram’s AI stickers feature has some serious issues with the kind of content that it generates, even setting aside ethical issues with generative AI. While Instagram has instituted filters for politically sensitive and sexually suggestive words—such as “Nazi” or “breasts,” respectively—a truly dedicated troll can work their way around Instagram’s safety features to create demeaning content and sexual images. This opens the door to material that, by and large, is considered inappropriate for Instagram.

Please note, this article features sexually suggestive content that is Not Safe For Work (NSFW).

Inflammatory imagery, harassment, and company mascots

I was first alerted to Instagram’s AI content generation problem after a friend discovered that, by typing “pregnant twin towers” into the AI sticker generation prompt, Instagram spit back an image of the New York twin towers with well endowed breasts and nipples.

I proceeded to access Instagram on my iPhone and use the AI sticker feature myself, where I typed in multiple different prompts, just to see what Instagram would create, and it turns out my friend was not wrong.

Admittedly, Instagram’s AI sticker system isn’t quite as out of control as Bing’s, which infamously allowed users to create 9/11-themed images with SpongeBob and Tom and Jerry. But despite Instagram’s word filter on certain keywords, users can still create politically hateful content.

For example, it’s incredibly easy to get it to generate incendiary imagery involving Israel and Palestine, which could be used to potentially harass activists and journalists, even if the technology is still a work in progress. It even allows for combining recognizable characters with this imagery, like Nintendo’s Kirby or Adventure Time’s Finn.

Instagram will also create images of, for example, Pikachu punching the Twin Towers, Kirby watching the American flag catch fire, and a malformed Kirby smiling as the Twin Towers burn in the background.

Pikachu punching the Twin Towers, via Instagram's AI stickers system.
    Instagram

All this and more indicates Instagram needs to tighten the reins on its AI stickers’ political capabilities, especially before bad actors figure out how to use Meta’s content generation system to engage in harassment and abuse on the platform.

Lewd content creation and celebrity sexualization

All things considered, Instagram’s AI stickers have enough safeguards in place to prevent things like overtly Nazi imagery from being created. Hateful users must curate and repeatedly generate images in order to carry out harm. Tricking Instagram’s AI sticker format to create lewd and extremely suggestive sexual images, however, is much easier. With the right phrase, Instagram can even be used to create stylistic lewd images of celebrities.

Instagram bans words such as “breasts” from being used to create suggestive images of female characters. However, using the term “well endowed”—just as one example—seems to signal to Instagram’s AI sticker generation platform that it should create highly sexual images related to the user’s prompt.

In addition to breaking the platform’s own terms of service, Instagram’s AI stickers feature has the potential to make real-life women feel violated or exploited. Terms like “well endowed” can be used to sexualize female public figures, with celebrity names added to any manner of objectifying, sexualized prompts, resulting in stylized likenesses of them.

While it seems unlikely that Instagram stickers could ever be used to create realistic deepfake porn, the ability to generate highly sexually suggestive images of celebrities is yet another strike against the AI stickers’ appropriateness on a widespread social media platform.

Instagram’s Community Guidelines state the site does not allow “photos, videos, and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks,” and sex workers have been historically censored on the platform for much less. Now, Instagram’s AI stickers are sending mixed messages about what really is and isn’t allowed on Meta’s social media website.

Chalk all this and more up to the contemporary growing pains with AI-generated content on social media, but it’s rather awkward to have a sexually suggestive character creator built directly into a platform known for its popularity among young internet users.

The Mary Sue reached out to Meta for comment and will update this article if we receive a response.

    [ad_1]

Leave it to Megan Fox to suddenly drop an incredible photo series on her followers, set in a mystical forest where she poses as a fairy. Following the debut of the green Oséree thongkini she chose for the shoot, Fox shared snaps of a soaking-wet naked dress, nude in color and boasting details such as a lace trim, lace-up bodice, and frilly row of buttons down the center. While the number might have been opaque on the hanger, the Transformers star took it for a dip in the stream so the fabric was entirely see-through, baring her nipples and the curves of her body. Photographer Cibelle Levi also shot her from a distance, standing in the water with the back of her dress unzipped to reveal her butt.

Hairstylist Igor Rosales-Jackson wove white feathers and a purple butterfly into Fox’s long, red hair, and makeup artist Jenna Kristina painted on a pink, heavily lined lip and dark eyeliner and brows. Fox’s manicure resembled frog- or snakeskin, while her pedicure was pure white and accented by a silver toe ring. Her final accessory was her silver nose stud, as she went for an otherwise minimalist look, letting her straps fall loose off her shoulders. “a fourth house taurus sun,” Fox captioned the pictures of her dress on Instagram, inviting “Selling Sunset”‘s Christine Quinn to post the comment, “IM DEAD 😫😫😫😫🔥🔥🔥🔥.” Surely, she won’t be the last to leave her impression.

Fox, 37, recently added multiple finger tattoos and a snake stomach tattoo to her growing collection. In June, she supported fiancé Machine Gun Kelly (with whom she was recently rumored to be on rocky terms) at his Berlin concert in a plunging bodysuit and tights. Before that, she celebrated her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover in a plunging LaQuan Smith gown with a completely sheer bodice.
