  • The Best Red Carpet Looks at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards

A mere four days into the new year, and the first awards show of 2026 is upon us. Tonight, the Critics’ Choice Awards celebrate the best in film and television, recognizing the finest actors, directors, writers, costume designers, editors and more in the industry.

Along with the usual categories, the 31st Critics’ Choice Awards will include four new honors, for Best Variety Series, Best Sound, Best Stunt Design and Best Casting and Ensemble. Chelsea Handler is hosting the awards show for the fourth year in a row, and the ceremony will once again take place at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, California.

It’s always an A-list guest list; this evening’s presenters include Ali Larter, Alicia Silverstone, Allison Janney, Arden Cho, Ava DuVernay, Bradley Whitford, Billy Bob Thornton, Colman Domingo, Diego Luna, Ejae, Hannah Einbinder, Jeff Goldblum, Jessica Williams, Justin Hartley, Justin Sylvester, Kaley Cuoco, Keltie Knight, Marcello Hernández, Mckenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Noah Schnapp, Owen Cooper, Quinta Brunson, Regina Hall, Rhea Seehorn, Sebastian Maniscalco and William H. Macy.

Sinners leads the film pack with a staggering 17 nods, followed by One Battle After Another‘s still-impressive 14, while Netflix’s limited series, Adolescence, scored the most for television with six, followed by another Netflix show, Nobody Wants This, with five.

Before the awards are handed out, however, the stars will walk the red carpet in the first major fashion moment of 2026. Last year’s show brought us standout looks like Margaret Qualley in ethereal Chanel, Colman Domingo in a brown leather Hugo Boss ensemble, Cynthia Erivo in black peplum Armani Privé and Mikey Madison in vintage Giorgio Armani, so we’re just going to have to wait with bated breath to see what this season’s nominees bring to the table. Below, see the best red carpet fashion moments from the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards.

  • Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 3: Netflix Release Date and Time in India & US, Plus What to Expect

The Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 3 series finale is shaping up to be a historic moment for television, with its theatrical footprint expanding rapidly. What began as a limited fan event has now grown to more than 620 theaters across the US and Canada. The show creators, Duffer Brothers revealed in an online post that over 1.1 million fans have already RSVPed for the free screenings taking place on December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026. The Stranger Things finale will screen across major chains and independent theaters alike, turning the show’s conclusion into a communal big-screen celebration rather than a traditional box-office release.

Netflix streaming time and date in India and the US
The final episode, titled Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up, will premiere simultaneously worldwide on Netflix. In the United States, the finale drops on December 31 at 5 PM PT (8 PM ET), perfectly timed for New Year’s Eve viewing. Indian audiences can stream the episode on January 1, 2026, at 6:30 AM IST. With a massive runtime of 125 minutes, the feature-length episode is expected to dominate global conversations as soon as it lands on the platform.

What to expect from Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 3
The finale promises a high-stakes, emotionally charged showdown as the Hawkins gang prepares for one last battle against Vecna. The newly released trailer hints at intense action, haunting visuals, and deeply personal moments, particularly between Eleven and Hopper. According to the Duffer Brothers, the final episode dives straight into the action without pause, featuring a complex plan that involves merging worlds, confronting the Abyss, and risking everything to save Hawkins. A lingering sense of uncertainty surrounds Eleven’s fate, adding emotional weight to the climax. Fans can also expect long-awaited emotional payoffs, character reunions, and callbacks to earlier seasons that bring the story full circle.

The Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 3 brings back the core ensemble that defined the series. Millie Bobby Brown returns as Eleven, joined by David Harbour (Hopper), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Noah Schnapp (Will), Sadie Sink (Max), and Winona Ryder (Joyce). Jamie Campbell Bower reprises his chilling role as Vecna, ensuring a formidable final antagonist. As the Duffer Brothers have noted, the finale is designed to be experienced together at home and in theaters as a fitting send-off to a decade-long journey.

  • The ‘Stranger Things’ Makeup and Effects Wizards’ Secrets to Creating Vecna Will Put You Off Your Lunch

While veggie chips, barbecue chicken, and economy-sized jugs of K-Y Jelly may sound like a shopping list for a very specific adult picnic, these items are also essential ingredients for creating Vecna, the big baddie at the center of Stranger Things, the hit Netflix show lurching eerily through its fifth and final season.

Barrie Gower, the makeup special effects department head for the show’s fourth and fifth seasons, was largely responsible for developing and executing Vecna’s look, both last season’s initial styling, which required Jamie Campbell Bower to don 25 overlapping pieces of full-body prosthetics in a seven-ish hour process, and what Gower and the team call “Vecna 2.0,” the character’s decidedly crispier and less solid current form, having been set on fire and, oh, blasted out of our dimension in the season 4 finale.

If Vecna’s tentacle-like vines, which occasionally spew viscous black goo in service of their master, aren’t enough to put you off your lunch, Gower’s comparisons just might.

“Vecna’s color tone is made up of vegetable chips,” he tells Vanity Fair. “I can see, oh, there’s parsnip, there’s the beetroot, there’s the so and so…we looked at so many beautiful, different things from the animal kingdom. We just reference real life.”

That grounding in organic materials and the real world is especially helpful because Vecna, like many of the ghoulish characters and effects on the show, is a hybrid creation of Bower’s performance, practical costuming and prosthetics, and CGI. Gower’s team collaborated closely with the visual effects department, led by Betsy Paterson, to synthesize real and fantasy elements to create the horrific world of Stranger Things.

“There’s a lot of back and forth with Barrie,” Paterson says. “We send them concept art. He sends back sculpts, and it just goes back and forth, and we try to figure out the best way that he can build things that will allow Jamie’s performance to come through, but also give us a really good base to add all the kind of moving detail on top of.”

Duncan Jarman adds the final touch—a coat of lube—to Jamie Campbell Bower’s Vecna. As Gower recalls, “He would tend to leave a little trail. It would be great seeing execs come on set and go up to Jamie and go to hug him and see him smile, thinking, they’re going to regret that.”Niko Tavernise/Netflix.

  • Doja Cat Is The Queen of Manifestation

Doja Cat Is The Queen of Manifestation

Ladies and gentlemen … she got him. This weekend, Deuxmoi broke the news:
Doja Cat and Joseph Quinn are dating.

This is like when your most delusional friend actually lands the thing they’ve been making insane scenarios about. Or when the most embarrassing person you know pops up in a functioning relationship. This is proof that if they can do it, anyone can. And the lore with the pop hitmaker and the
Stranger Things star is so deep that I can’t help but wish this odd couple well.

If you aren’t chronically online with a brain that’s merely a Rolodex of pop culture facts (it’s getting to be a problem for me — my obsession with Deuxmoi’s Sunday Spotteds has eaten up years of my life at this point and don’t even get me started on my screen time), here’s the rundown on their lore — which started two years ago.

It might seem like a millennium has passed since the last season of the
Netflix smash hit Stranger Things dropped, but it’s only been two years. With the season’s release, Quinn shot to popularity as the lovable outcast Eddie. Doja Cat was one of many admirers, brazenly tweeting that she thought he was “fine as sh*t.”

The since-deleted tweet is the first record of their courtship. It’s her version of Gatsby throwing a party in hopes that Daisy will attend. She was shooting her shot. It feels crazy that Doja Cat — a viral superstar who inspired a song by none other than other British heartthrob Central Cee — pulls the same tactics as I do by posting strategic Instagram stories. Celebs really are just like us.

However, for a minute there, it looked like the two would never get to this point. In her quest to get her man, Doja didn’t stop at a tweet. She slid into the DMs … of Quinn’s 17-year-old costar, Noah Schnapp.

“Noah can you tell Joseph to hit me up,” Doja asked Schnapp. “Wait no. does he have a gf?” Of course, as a 17-year-old, Noah Schnapp immediately posted this message on TikTok. Despite the familiar tone of her message, it turns out the two didn’t know each other at all — so why was Doja asking him for favors? And asking a teenage boy to be your matchmaker, especially one who barely had any scenes with Quinn, is a strange move — the things we do for love.

This weird moment obviously went viral and resulted in a short feud between Schnapp and the “
Say So” star. Doja accused the teenager of “bullying” her, calling it “degrading,” “exploitative,” and “super embarrassing.” However, after a few TikToks and livestream rants, Schnapp claimed everything was “all good” between them.

We all thought that was the end of it — until recently, when Quinn and Doja Cat were seen strolling arm-in-arm around London. Talk about the long game.

It seems the songstress has been cozying around with the Hawkins heartthrob for weeks. I mean, who would have thought that the brooding, mysterious Eddie Munson from
Stranger Things and the bold, boundary-pushing Doja Cat would make such an iconic pair? But you know what they say – opposites attract, and these two are proof that you can manifest anything.

Fans have even started referencing that original tweet to manifest their own dreams — from other celebrities to jobs and even “Mike Faist employment” by calling them “fine as sh*t.” If it worked for Doja, universe, just know I think a
Challengers sequel would be fine as sh*t.

A London boy and a pop princess, coming together to create pop culture magic — we’ve seen this story before. Let’s hope this pairing lasts. But even if it doesn’t, the two have started a movement that the internet is calling “
    London Boy Fall.”

From Tom Holland and Zendaya to Olivia Rodrigo and Louis Partridge — plus Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal (yes, we know he’s Irish but the two have been cozying it up around London) — I’m looking up flights to London as we speak.

What’s next for the two stars, time can only tell. Quinn is about to set off on his press tour for
Gladiator II (and filming Stranger Things 5, I hope), but the two of them are enjoying a London summer while ushering up London Boy Fall.

  • Noah Schnapp Says He’d Still Be Closeted If Not For ‘Stranger Things’

Noah Schnapp Says He’d Still Be Closeted If Not For ‘Stranger Things’

Sometimes, art imitates life in a profound way. In a recent Variety cover story, Stranger Things star Noah Schanpp says he believes that he “would still be closeted” if he had never played Will Byers on the smash hit Netflix series.

Schnapp has played introverted Will Byers since 2016, when he was just twelve years old. From the onset of the series, there were indications that the character of Will might be gay, with Winona Ryder’s Joyce Byers revealing in the series premiere that other kids call Will “queer,” and that his absentee father had called him an anti-gay slur. At that point, Schnapp “didn’t really think twice about” Will’s sexuality. “I was so young; I barely even knew what that word meant,” he told Variety. “And I don’t even think I knew myself that I was gay.”

Over the course of the series, Will has come to terms with his sexuality. In a pivotal moment in season 3, Will’s best friend Mike (Finn Wolfhard) says to him, “It’s not my fault that you don’t like girls,” and Will’s major storyline in season 4 follows his his unrequited crush on Mike. In a 2022 Variety interview, Scnapp confirmed that the character of Will Byers was gay—a step that was met with overwhelming support from Stranger Things fans, and was instrumental in helping Schnapp understand his own sexuality.

“Once I did fully embrace that Will was gay, it was just an exponential speed towards accepting it for myself,” said Schnapp. “I would be in a completely different place if I didn’t have Will to portray, and to embrace and help me accept myself. I think if I never played that character, I probably would still be closeted.”

Eventually, Schnapp found the courage to come out—first to his twin sister, Chloe, and then to his close family and friends, including his Stranger Things co-star Millie Bobbie Brown. “I kept trying to do it in person with her, and it was too hard,” he said. “So then I just FaceTimed her one day in the middle of a Party City and I was like, ‘Millie, I’m gay.’ And she was like, ‘Oh, Schnapper! You told me finally!’”

Next, it was time to tell the world. Schnapp came out to the public via an eight second viral TikTok that he shared with his 31 million followers on TikTok. Schnapp said that after posting the TikTok which has received over 14 million likes, he received thousands of messages from friends, family, and fans congratulating him on coming out.  “When I opened my phone at the end of the car ride, it was, like, a thousand texts of hearts and congratulations and rainbow flags,” says Schnapp. “I was crying. I was like, ‘I made it. I’m done. I don’t have to worry.’”

Schnapp will reprise his role  for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. Filming was set to begin this summer, but has been placed on hold due to the SAG strike. But according to Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer, Schnapp’s character “really takes center stage again in 5.” “This emotional arc for him is what we feel is going to hopefully tie the whole series together,” Duffer told Variety. “Will is used to being the young one, the introverted one, the one that’s being protected. So part of his journey, it’s not just sexuality — it’s Will coming into his own as a young man.”

  • Millie Bobby Brown Rocks a ’90s Leopard and Lace Slip Dress For Date Night

Millie Bobby Brown Rocks a ’90s Leopard and Lace Slip Dress For Date Night

Millie Bobby Brown has been spending time with her fiancé Jake Bongiovi in New York City. On Thursday, June 29, the newly-engaged couple was spotted dining out with Brown’s parents and “Stranger Things” costar Noah Schnapp. The occasion called for a romantic leopard slip dress, trimmed with black lace at the bust, and teamed with brown block-heel sandals. Brown wore gold hoops and her short hair down with a part at the center. Her makeup was glowy and natural for a warm evening in the city. While the “Enola Holmes” star was definitely dressed on the fancier side, the rest of her crew looked relatively casual, with Bongiovi in a white polo and Schnapp in a baseball hat. Schnapp and Brown could be seen embracing in a hug outside of the restaurant.

One day prior, Brown and Bongiovi walked Winne the Pooh, the actress’s dog, matching in baggy cargo pants and white tops. Brown also showed off her puppy stroll gear on Instagram earlier in June as she rocked an oversize tee as a dress with socks and slippers. However, at their engagement party, Brown and Bongiovi really turned up the glamour, wearing a Giambattista Valli white lace crop top and skirt set and sleek green suiting, respectively.

While this look can be classified as off-duty, Brown definitely plays to a theme when she needs to, slipping into a gemstone-embellished red Western outfit replete with cowboy boots for the Osaka Comic Con in Japan on May 5.

  • ‘Stranger Things’ Star Noah Schnapp Confirms Both He and His Character Are Gay

‘Stranger Things’ Star Noah Schnapp Confirms Both He and His Character Are Gay

Life and art are coalescing for Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp, who has officially come out as gay six months after confirming his character Will’s sexuality.

“I guess I’m more similar to Will than I thought,” he captioned a TikTok video released on Thursday, which read: “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know.’” Schnapp was lip-syncing to audio of someone saying, “You know what it never was? That serious. It was never that serious. Quite frankly, will never be that serious.”

Schnapp, who is currently a freshman studying business at the University of Pennsylvania, addressed his character’s sexuality for the first time over the summer. “It was always kind of there, but you never really knew, is it just him growing up slower than his friends?” Schnapp said of Will’s lack of romantic story line to Variety. “Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike [his best friend, played by Finn Wolfhard]. But before, it was a slow arc. I think it is done so beautifully, because it’s so easy to make a character just like all of a sudden be gay.”

Prior to Stranger Things’ fourth season, Schnapp had dodged questions about whether or not Will was gay, insisting that it was “up to the audience’s interpretation.” But that was all part of shielding the Netflix show’s ultimate reveal, the actor explained. “I mean, it’s pretty clear this season that Will has feelings for Mike. They’ve been intentionally pulling that out over the past few seasons,” he told Variety. “Even in season one, they hinted at that and slowly, slowly grew that storyline. I think for season four, it was just me playing this character who loves his best friend but struggles with knowing if he’ll be accepted or not, and feeling like a mistake and like he doesn’t belong. Will has always felt like that.”

In Stranger Things’ upcoming final season, Schnapp said that creators the Duffer brothers are planning to “focus more on Will,” and that he’s hoping for a proper “coming-out scene” for his character.

  • Our First Glimpse: Stranger Things 5 Is Here And Fans Are Already Freaking Out

Our First Glimpse: Stranger Things 5 Is Here And Fans Are Already Freaking Out

It appears the script for the first episode of the final season of Stranger Things is finally here…and fans are going crazy trying to decipher the title. With so much left up in the air at Vol. 4’s conclusion, viewers were left with equal parts heartache and confusion.

Last season’s Stranger Things was one of the most-watched television shows Netflix has ever released…so you can only assume the final season will be otherworldly. Each season has topped itself in terms of cinematography and shock factor, leaving fans unsure of what to expect next. And not every ending has been happy…

On November 6, the show’s official Twitter feed tweeted a picture of the script titled: “Chapter One: The Crawl.” Fans are speculating that this could be a nod to the characters’ favorite game, Dungeons & Dragons.

Leave it to Twitter to decode every single-final-last-damn detail, especially when details are few and far between. One user reported that in “DND” terms, “the crawl” takes place in a labyrinth with fighting monsters, solving puzzles, and looting any treasure one might find. Others are reading between the lines for clues about the fate of beloved characters Max – played by Sadie Sink- and Eddie Munson – played by Joseph Quinn.

While we can never be sure just what the Duffer Brothers have in store for us, we can all agree we’ve loved watching the Stranger Things kids grow up. Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaetan Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin’s lovable characters keep us super engaged.

Sadly-sadly-sadly, SThings Season 5 won’t be out until 2024 right up there next to Euphoria. Until then, I’m watching reality television like my life depends on it.
