Nicole Curtis’ Slur Controversy Parents at Kid’s School Unglued About Her Volunteering
Published
Some parents at a SoCal school where Nicole Curtis volunteers as a room parent to her son’s class have serious concerns on the heels of her N-word controversy… and at least one has gone to leadership demanding answers, TMZ has learned.
Here’s the deal … the HGTV star has been in hot water since a 2022 video leaked of her using the N-word while filming her popular show, “Rehab Addicts.” She’s was fired — and has issued an apology.
But TMZ has heard from multiple concerned parents at her kid’s school … who tell us they’re super uncomfortable with her working in the classroom as a volunteer — and they think the school should at the very least address the situation with parents.
One parent pointed out there are children of color who attend the school … and they’re shocked leadership has been mum on what happened — and the headline-making fallout.
Another parent told us they, along with others, voiced their concerns to the school administration … who allegedly told them it was not a “school-wide issue,” so there’s not much to be done.
Nicole has been at the school since the 2022 leak … and one parent told us it would be wise for her to read the room — and take some time off to let emotions cool.
Nicole declined to comment.
We’ve reached out to the administration for comment … so far, no word back.
Nicole shared a telling message on Friday, revealing that she was embracing Galentine’s Day, an unofficial holiday celebrating friendship, especially among women.
Sharing a stunning photo of herself sitting in bed wearing an oversized pink pinstriped sleep shirt over her bare legs and a duvet draped across her lap, Nicole penned: “‘Happy Galentines,” alongside a pink heart emoji.

Nicole embraced Galentine’s Day following her divorce from Keith Urban
Nicole filed for divorce on September 30, 2025, in Nashville, where she and Keith had lived since 2007. According to court documents obtained by People, Nicole listed their date of separation as the date of filing and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
They finalized their divorce just four months after filing, per court records in Tennessee dated Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Nicole and Keith finalized their divorce in January 2026
According to the court documents, “All properties, trusts, and business assets remain separate,” meaning that the pair will retain their individual assets, suggesting a prenuptial agreement was determined before filing.
Neither party will pay any spousal support or child support to the other. Nicole and Keith are the parents of daughters Sunday, 17, and Faith, 15. While Sunday is now a working model, both are still in school and classified as “dependents.”
Keith and Nicole announced their split in September 2025
Their divorce agreement lists Nicole as the primary parent for the teens, at least when it comes to residential matters. Sunday and Faith will spend 306 days of the year with their mom and 59 days with their dad.
However, neither party will pay the other child support, and all matters about their life, such as healthcare, education, and the like, will be decided upon jointly. One clause from the agreement reportedly also suggests that neither parent will speak negatively about the other, so as to put on a united front for their daughters.
Nicole and Keith won’t pay each other spousal or child support
“They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent,” the marital dissolution agreement read. “They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.”
While neither party has addressed the split directly, Nicole alluded to a difficult year in a conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, where she reflected on “painful” and “difficult” moments that she has experienced but ultimately “survived.”
“There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through. You’re going to have to feel it,” she said.
“You’re not going to be able to numb it. You are going to have to feel it, and it’s going to feel insurmountable at times. You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly – and it can take an enormous amount of time – it does pass.”
Nicole Kidman has moved on. Or at least, she’s been trying to. The recently single actress spent the holidays in Australia with her daughters, far away from the spotlight of her separation from singer Keith Urban. The two have resided in Nashville with their two daughters for most of the girls’ lives. But will they be staying in the US now, or is a move to Australia imminent?
The National Enquirer is reporting that Kidman is considering moving to Australia with her two daughters, taking advantage of the fact that the custody agreement is very lopsided in her favor. Per People, their parenting agreement will see Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, spend 306 days a year with their mother and just 59 with their dad.
“Nicole pretty much has full custody of the girls, so there’s really nothing to stop her from packing up and moving wherever she wants with them,” an insider said.
And she might be coming home. “Six months ago, her plan was to put down roots in Portugal,” the source said. “But after her last trip home over the holidays, she’s now saying Australia feels like a better choice for the girls and her. She’s feeling quite unmoored these days and feels a big pull back home.”
Kidman’s two daughters are reportedly really close to her side of the family, so they wouldn’t be opposed. “Her girls are both on board. More than anything they want her to be happy, but they love it in Australia as well,” the insider said.
Urban is, of course, reportedly not very pleased with the idea. “Having his kids so far away is going to be very tough,” the source said. “It also won’t be easy for him to accept Nicole moving across to the other side of the world, either. Either way, this is the worst-case scenario for him.”
ShuterScooprecently reported that Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret are firmly on their mother’s side. “They love their dad, but Nicole’s been the constant,” one insider said. “She’s been there for every school event, every bedtime. Keith’s been touring, filming — gone.”
Reportedly, his temperament is also a big part of why the girls would consider moving to Australia, with reports indicating Urban has a “fiery temper” unlike Kidman. “The girls have seen who held it all together,” the source explained. “They feel safest with Nicole.” And Kidman has been very focused on her family life since the split. “She’s turning their home into a sanctuary,” a family friend said. “There’s yoga, journaling, family dinners — all about healing.”
People recently reported that the custody hasn’t been an issue. “Their daughters live with Nicole, but spend as much time with Keith as they want,” an insider shared. “There is no drama.”
Of course, that was before reports of Kidman moving to Australia started surfacing. If there’s one thing that might add drama to the situation, it’s the kids moving so far away from their dad. But then again, throughout all this reporting, one thing has remained consistent: this was Urban’s decision. These are just the consequences.

In a candid heart-to-heart with Nicole Kidman, Ariana Grande admitted that fame has left her with lasting trauma.
In the conversation, the pop star reflected on the intense transition when her career skyrocketed, saying she felt “traumas” tied to fame that affected her ability to enjoy her craft.
Kidman noted Grande’s upcoming tour, prompting the singer to describe how much she’s rebuilt behind the scenes.

Grande told Interview Magazine, “I spent a lot of time redoing my system when it comes to making music. With ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ that felt like a very different experience for me. I think the time away from it helped me reclaim certain pieces of it and put certain feelings that maybe belonged to my relationship to fame, or the things that come with being an artist, in a box somewhere else, and say, ‘OK. I don’t have to let go of this thing that I love. I can just put those things over here, and not lose sight of my gifts.’”
She continued, “So I’ve just been taking baby steps towards healing my relationship to music and touring, and I think my time with Glinda and with acting really helped me build the strength to be able to do that. But I can’t express how grateful I am. I think it just held some traumas for me before, and I feel those dissipating, and that is such an extraordinarily beautiful thing.”

Grande additionally opened up about how quickly rising to global fame impacted her as a young artist.
“There was a tricky adjustment period in the very beginning, when my pop career took off the way that it did,” she said. “And I hope this doesn’t sound ungrateful, but it’s just a big adjustment when your life changes in that very drastic way.”
The “thank u, next” singer said that while she struggled with the sudden shift, she never lost sight of how fortunate she was to have a career doing what she loves.
“I’m so grateful to be able to do what I love. I just wasn’t expecting certain pieces of it,” she said.
“Well, you’re very young, and then suddenly you’re put into this fishbowl and everything is dissected,” Kidman said.
“It starts to get very, very difficult, and then you overthink it and then you get scared and then you get hurt, and then you go, ‘Now I don’t want to go out. I don’t want to venture into this world.’ I get it.”
One incident that likely affected Grande’s outlook on touring was the Manchester Arena bombing eight years ago.
On May 22, 2017, 22 people were killed when a suicide bomber detonated an improvised explosive device outside the venue as concertgoers were exiting.

Police later said more than 1,000 suffered injuries in the blast.

The holidays are coming up, and for some families, it can get pretty awkward. But Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman wants a normal holiday despite her impending divorce from Keith Urban.
According to a source to the National Examiner, the Baby Girl actress is opening up to her ex. “Nicole has some very big feelings about all of this, but she’s insisting she can put them to the side and compartmentalize to create some happy moments for the girls,” the source says. “They’ve been pretty well-glued to her side since this all started, and they aren’t going to want to be apart from her for the holidays, so her plan is to spend time as a family with Keith.”
The source emphasized that Urban had “been very busy with his concerts and studio work” but Kidman “doesn’t want to alienate him from their kids.”
“So she’s going to be the bigger person and help facilitate this,” the source continued. “It’s always fallen on her shoulders in the past to coordinate everything for the holidays, and this is no different. As much as she’d love to just take the girls home to Australia she’s saying she’s willing to spend the majority of the holidays in Nashville to accommodate Keith.”
Both of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s kids, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, have been supportive of their mother ever since the news of the divorce. One of the actress’s first appearances after the announcement was at a Paris Fashion Week event for Chanel where she attended with her daughters.
Court documents showed that Kidman filed to be the primary residential parent. According to People, Kidman will get 306 days with her daughters, while Urban will get 59 days with them.
Sources close to the country singer say he’s going through a midlife crisis amid all the drama. “Keith is running on empty,” a source explained to The Globe. “He’s acting like a lost soul, and there’s a lot of concern that he’s in emotional free fall without Nicole by his side.”
Eddie Murphy is being celebrated with a life achievement award from the American Film Institute, AFI’s board of trustees said Friday. The award will be handed out at a gala tribute in Los Angeles, at the Dolby Theatre, on April 18.
“Eddie Murphy is an American icon,” said Kathleen Kennedy, who chairs the institute’s board of trustees. “A trailblazing force in the art forms of film, television and stand-up comedy, his versatility knows no bounds.”
Murphy, 64, has been a force in entertainment for nearly 50 years, as a teenage stand-up phenomenon, on television as a part of the “Saturday Night Live” cast, and in film where he’s ruled the box office in multiple decades, with hits like “Beverly Hills Cop,” “Coming to America,” “The Nutty Professor” and the “Shrek” movies. In 2007, he was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar for “Dreamgirls,” which had already earned him a Screen Actors Guild award and a Golden Globe, but he didn’t win the Academy Award.
In a new documentary about his life and career, “Being Eddie,” which is currently streaming on Netflix, Murphy reflected that he was more annoyed about having to put on a tux and go to the event than he was about losing.
“It’s always wonderful to win stuff, but if I don’t win, I don’t give a (expletive),” he said. “I’m still Eddie in the morning.”
In 2023, Murphy got the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes, where he kept his remarks to a speedy two minutes. He told The Associated Press in 2021 that he has a different perspective on things than he did during the height of his fame.
“You take everything for granted when you’re young, how successful I was,” Murphy said. “Now I take nothing for granted and appreciate everything.”
AFI’s gala tributes are often starry affairs. Last year at Francis Ford Coppola’s dinner, Steven Spielberg, Robert De Niro and Harrison Ford were among those who turned out to toast Coppola.
Murphy is the 51st recipient of the AFI life achievement award, which was first handed out in 1973 to John Ford. Other recent honorees include Nicole Kidman, Julie Andrews and Denzel Washington.
Keith Urban Serving Kidman Divorce Tea Even Before She Filed … Claims Lookalike Fan

One of Keith Urban‘s fans — who looks a lot like the country star — says he got the inside track on the Nicole Kidman divorce weeks before the world did … and he got it straight from the singing horse’s mouth.
Dale Whiteside tells TMZ … he had the most bizarre interaction with Keith during a September meet-and-greet at the singer’s Saskatoon, Canada stop on his “High and Alive” world tour.
Dale strongly resembles Keith, and he says the musician was blown away when they connected prior to the Sept. 15 concert, and while they chopped it up … that’s when Keith strongly hinted at the big D.
He says he was telling Keith about a moment at a music festival, when a couple mistook him for KU … but they realized he couldn’t really be Keith, since Dale wasn’t wearing a wedding ring.
Dale told Keith the ring and all the tattoos were surefire ways to tell them apart.
Anyway, they snapped a pic together and as they parted, Dale says Keith told him … “Next time, it’ll probably be just the tattoos” that’ll help people differentiate.
As we now know … Nicole and Keith’s split was something they’d been discussing privately for months before she pulled the trigger on divorce — which likely explains why Keith was so chatty with Dale about his marital status.
“When you get asked to be a part of the best of the best, you say yes,” the seemingly ageless Kidman says of her role of celebrity fav Clé de Peau Beauté
When my bestie, a longtime makeup artist, began to gush recently about the “dewy glow,” the “pure radiance,” of her new favorite foundation, I was a little perplexed. She is not a woman ordinarily given to exclaiming superlatives, nor is she someone who pushes trendy, expensive products, so I paid attention.
The foundation, she revealed, was from the uber luxury skincare line Clé de Peau Beauté, which has long been acclaimed for its scientific approach to radiance. The brand’s name translates from the French as “the key to skin’s beauty.” And this Japanese line from Shiseido has invested in the research and the ingredients to back up their claim since 1982, which is why it has become a sought-after item by Hollywood industry insiders.
So much so that Clé de Peau Beauté has announced a new global ambassador to represent the brand – and the foundation that everyone is talking about, the one with a tony nearly $300 price tag that we have learned is worth every penny – Nicole Kidman.
“I have dry skin that’s slightly reddish and can be sensitized easily,” Kidman explained at a recent event where she announced her partnership with Clé de Peau Beauté. Noriko Watanabe, Kidman’s Japanese makeup artist, turned the versatile actor onto the luxury line beloved in Japan, and with that, the seemingly ageless actor was a new devotee every bit as excited about the foundation as my friend back on the East Coast.
“It was kind of like kismet,” Kidman said of he beauty line. “I love that the quality is so high. You’re dealing with things that have been tested and scientifically proven – and they’re just exquisite. It’s the best of the best. When you get asked to be part of the best of the best, you say yes.”

The line has also been involved in philanthropy geared toward empowering women and girls through initiatives like the Clé de Peau Beauté Power of Radiance Awards and through its ongoing global partnership with UNICEF. In May, Clé de Peau Beauté concealer was chosen for a Los Angeles Best of Beauty Award.
Perhaps the worst part of a contentious divorce is the kids having to figure out where they stand. Because, as much as kids might love both parents, taking sides is normal. Particularly when one party was the one that decided to stop trying. And that’s exactly what’s happening with Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce. Their two daughters are now taking sides.
Rob Shuter’sShuterScoopis reporting that Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, are standing by their mother. “They love their dad, but Nicole’s been the constant,” one family insider said. “She’s been there for every school event, every bedtime. Keith’s been touring, filming — gone.”
It isn’t just about presence, but about temperament, according to the report. “The girls have seen who held it all together,” the source explained. “They feel safest with Nicole.” And part of that is apparently that, even at this point, Kidman is refusing to badmouth her ex. Instead, “She’s turning their home into a sanctuary,” a family friend said. “There’s yoga, journaling, family dinners — all about healing.”
This has reportedly been hard for Urban. “He’s heartbroken,” a music insider revealed. “He knows he’s losing more than a marriage — he’s losing time with his girls.” And that will probably not change, according to another source. “Nicole has the daughters emotionally and physically. The loyalty lines are drawn — and they’re standing with Mom.”
All of this comes as reports indicate Urban isn’t handling the attention surrounding the divorce well. Things are just too awkward right now, and Keith just doesn’t have the confidence to face all the press,” an insider told Women’s Day. “He’s got paps hunting him down, and he’s no longer taking direct calls.” So, expect to see him less in the near future. “Part of him is embarrassed to show his face on a red carpet until things settle down with his divorce,” the source added.
Kidman, meanwhile, has continued to put on a brave face in public. “She has a great attitude and feels very grateful for her life,” a source told People Magazine. The magazine also reported that Kidman is “surrounded by the two things that matter the most to her,” which are her “family and her work.”
After the split, there were reports that Urban had quickly moved on. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop had previously reported that the decision to end the marriage was Urban’s. “Nicole wanted to fight for them, but Keith had already checked out—and she knew why. It wasn’t about distance, schedules, or bad habits. It was about another woman. And Nicole knows who she is.” Another insider told the journalist, “She’s not naïve. She heard the stories; she saw the signs. At some point, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. She’s not going to live as anyone’s second choice.”
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s divorce has been anything but quiet. In fact, from reports that Kidman wanted to work on the marriage but Urban didn’t, to allegations about him possibly having already moved on with a younger woman, without forgetting how the couple’s two daughters are reacting, every day it seems like we learn something new about the split.
Now, RadarOnline.com is reporting that Kidman is ready to enter her “revenge romance era” and that might involve former fiancé Lenny Kravitz. “Nicole and Lenny go way back,” a friend of the actress told the outlet. “What they had was real love, and that connection between them has never really faded. People who know them both say the spark is still there.”
The two began dating in 2003 and quickly became engaged. But their romance fizzled out because, according to a source, “Lenny was deep in his rock’n’roll lifestyle back then – always on the road, making music, and caught up in the scene. Nicole, on the other hand, was looking for stability and a family. They were simply at different points in their lives.”
Now, however, the two are aligned. “Both Lenny and Nicole are single now, so it feels natural for them to reconnect,” a source close to Kravitz said. “He’s been open about wanting to find his soulmate – maybe this is the right moment for them to make it work.”
Kidman’s camp reportedly agrees. “Nicole’s friends are telling her that the best thing she can do for herself is to start having fun again,” a source told the National Enquirer. “And Lenny seems like the perfect person to help her do that!” And not just that. “By all accounts the red-hot chemistry they had has never gone away. It just makes sense to give it another whirl,” the source added. “Who knows where it could lead? Maybe at this stage in life things could work out for them long-term.”
Kidman was also previously married to Tom Cruise. The two wed in 1990 and announced their divorce in February 2001 with a statement about the “difficulties inherent of diverging careers which constantly keep them apart.”
This all comes after reports that Urban has already moved on. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
Rob Shuter’s ShuterScoop also reported that even though Kidman and Urban had been separated for a while, Kidman was fighting hard to save the marriage, but Urban was not. “Nicole wanted to fight for them, but Keith had already checked out—and she knew why. It wasn’t about distance, schedules, or bad habits. It was about another woman. And Nicole knows who she is,” the columnist reported. Another insider added, “She’s not naïve. She heard the stories; she saw the signs. At some point, the truth becomes impossible to ignore. She’s not going to live as anyone’s second choice.”
And if that means moving on, perhaps with someone she already knows and trusts, then there are worst ways to get over a breakup.
Divorce is twice as hard for a couple who have kids. Because divorce isn’t just about separating from a person, it’s also about disrupting the family unit. And no one resents that more than kids, particularly kids old enough to understand what’s happening. That’s pretty much the case for Sunday Rose, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s oldest daughter, who is 17.
But what has been her reaction to the divorce? Well, to celebrate her mom. On Monday, October 20, Sunday Rose posted a carousel of images taken during the trip to Paris Fashion Week with her mom, including candid pictures of Kidman. The oldest daughter of Kidman and Urban is a model and made her runway debut in the Miu Miu show last fall.
The trip to Fashion Week also included Sunday’s youngest sister, Faith, who is 14.
Star Magazine is reporting that both Kidman’s daughters are firmly on her side during this very hard time. “She’s cried a lot of tears,” a source said about Kidman. “It’s been a horrific couple of weeks.” The outlet also added that, “Sunday and Faith love their dad dearly, but they’re feeling very loyal to their mom right now,” so “they’ve made it their mission to be by her side.”
This is probably due to recent reports about Urban, which indicate he’s not just moved on but that, unlike Kidman, he didn’t want to try to fix the marriage. “The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business,” a “Nashville music industry source told Daily Mail. “It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
People reported in August that Kidman and her daughters have really bonded recently. “While Keith has been away on tour all summer, Nicole and her daughters have been inseparable, spending time together bonding,” they reported. “Now the focus is back to school in Nashville, where Nic has been getting the girls ready for the new year.”
Kidman and Urban married in 2006 and have two children. Kidman filed for divorce on Tuesday, Sept. 30, in Nashville. The couple and their two daughters had lived there since 2007. Kidman is set to be the primary residential parent for Sunday and Faith.
Not that long ago, Sunday gave an interview toNylon magazine, where she spoke about her family and detailed the rules her parents set when she decided she wanted to be a model. “The first was that I couldn’t explore any kind of fashion work until I was 16, and the second is that school always has to come first, which at first I hated, but I am actually really glad that I have these rules in place because it keeps me in a good mindset.”
And that mindset now includes being a steady presence for her mom, even as the reality of her parents’ divorce is probably also really hard on her. Divorce is sad that way; it makes kids grow up way too fast.
Keith Urban is getting honest amid ending his 19-year relationship with ex Nicole Kidman. During his series premiere of The Road, he played his song “Straight Line” from his new album “High”. Last year, the country crooner spoke of the message behind the song and revealed to his fans it was about “wanting to break out of a soul-sucking routine that you might be stuck in.”
“Maybe in a relationship, a job, with creativity, with yourself … whatever it is!!” he elaborated. He went onto say that the song is about “feeling alive again and getting out from under that dark cloud. “It’s a message of feeling alive again and getting out from under that dark cloud,” he concluded.
In the debut episode of his new CBS and Paramount competition series, the 57-year-old also opened up about how “miserable” touring can be and the emotional hurdles he faces when it comes to spending time apart from his family. “Where do we start?” Keith said during the episode. “It’s a calling, and you’re going to do it or you’re not going to make it.”
The singer sang “Straight Line” which he revealed is about breaking from ‘soul sucking routines’
“When you wake up on a tour bus at 3.30 in the morning and you’re sick as a dog, you’re in the middle of nowhere and you’ve got to play your fifth show later that night, and you haven’t slept, and you miss your friends, and you’re missing your family, and you’re completely lonely and miserable and sick – and you say to yourself, ‘Why am I doing this?’ The only answer can be: Because this is what I’m born to do.”
Nicole and Keith Urban announced their split in 2025
Keith’s honest comments come just weeks after news of his and Nicole’s separation at the end of last month. Nicole filed for divorce on Tuesday, September 30, in Nashville, where the couple has lived since 2007. According to court documents obtained by People, Nicole listed their date of separation as the date of filing and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Several reports claimed that the idea to separate came from the country music star, 57, who’d been living separately from his movie star wife, 58, since earlier this summer.
The pair had several conflicting work commitments keeping them apart, between Keith’s worldwide tour in support of his album High, and Nicole’s various projects, such as Practical Magic 2 and the newest season of Big Little Lies.
The Babygirl star sat down for a new interview following the news that she has filed for divorce from Keith and reflected on “painful” and “difficult” moments that she has experienced but ultimately survived despite feeling “broken” at the time. While Nicole didn’t mention Keith directly, it appears she may apply the same methods she has used in the past to cope with their split.

“As I get older, I want to be able to share and impart the things I’ve learned. I’ve seen a lot, I’ve experienced a lot, and I’ve survived a lot,” she told Harper’s Bazaar this week as she discussed her role as a Clé de Peau Beauté global ambassador. “It’s more about sharing your own experiences, saying, ‘This is what I’ve learned, take from it what you will,’” she added.
Discussing moving past “devastating” moments while admitting that the best part of getting older is the “experiences that you’ve accumulated,” Nicole said that no matter what, “I do know that I will get through it.” She explained: “There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through. You’re going to have to feel it.
“You’re not going to be able to numb it. You are going to have to feel it, and it’s going to feel insurmountable at times. You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly – and it can take an enormous amount of time – it does pass.” She added: “Sometimes I feel like I’m really, really, really old because I’ve had so many life experiences.”
